I was helped out by Spencer and he was extremely helpful even though there were other customers in the store as well. I've never been fitted for running shoes and he was very informative and answered all my questions concerning running with his own personal experience/advice.
They also price match with other competing running stores and also online shoe stores such as zappos or shoebacca.
He even helped me out by introducing me to http://runnersworld.com where i could make my own workouts and he also added his own input because I just started running.
Overall, very good customer service even though there was only 1 employee working and does not hesitate to help. -

I've never been fitted for running shoes, so I thought I'd stop by the Runner's Zone to find a nice pair of shoes. I was so glad I did! Located in this Anaheim Hills shopping center (off of Imperial and Santa Ana Canyon Rd.), I found great shoes and wonderful service!
I wasn't sure what being fitted for running shoes would be like. The very patient salesperson (I think his name was Spencer) made me walk back and forth to see if my feet "pronate" (rotate in or out) when I walk. After I tried on about a dozen pairs of shoes, we finally found the right pair. I usually wear a stiff cross-training shoe, and it was so nice to find a comfortable pair of running shoes!
Since I've been prone to injuries in the past, finding the right style of shoes was important to me. It was so nice to have a knowledgeable salesperson hear my concerns and help find the best running gear for my needs. I probably won't be doing marathons anytime soon, but I definitely want to get back into shape.
Also, when I needed to exchange an item yesterday, the transaction was done hassle-free with the store's owner. It was so nice to see that the owner takes such pride in the store's products and customer service as well!
Although this store may not have the selection of a larger chain, a customer will receive even better service when they come here. For getting the highest quality shoes, reasonable prices, and the nicest service, my family will be getting most (if not all) of their running gear from the Runner's Zone!Listed in: Retail Therapy

Went here two days in a row during their business hours (5/17 at 4:15 and 5/18 at 4:30) to find a hand written closed sign on the door. I will now take my business elsewhere since they aren't staying open till 7 as their hours state....

Great service is where I start with this review. The owner takes pride in his business and pride in finding a shoe that fits your running style. I get shin splints often and have very wide feet. After spending a good amount of time with me and trying on different shoes, observing my stride we found a great pair of shoes that have helped me run longer distances with less pain.
Thanks Darrin! -

Jake was extremely helpful and patient. He helped find me the right pair of shoes for me. He watched my feet as I walked to help figure out what type of shoe would be best for my step. He pulled out about 5 pairs of shoes and all seemed to work pretty well and he even pulled out other clearance pairs that were the same fit but an older color. I definitely will use this store for all my feature running shoes and gear. far exceeded my expectations.

When I first moved to OC, I needed a pair of running shoes. I found this store when I was looking for another business in the area. The staff are very helpful. I was the only person there and there was one sales guy there, but he was very helpful. He knew all about the differences between running shoes. I tried on several different types of shoes. He asked me how often I ran, how many miles, etc. He told me about how long you should use a pair of running shoes (it was either 400 or 500 miles). He really knew all the merchandise there, and had me fitted. I was allowed to run around the store in the shoes I was considering buying. My experience here was ten times better than when I bought my first pair at a chain store. If you need a pair of running shoes, this is the best place to go; it beats the chain stores by a mile!

Great customer service! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and asked what I was looking for. I had just completed my first half marathon, and had a lot of pain in my knee. Once I explained it, he knew exactly what I was talking about and what I might need. He took a good amount of time to watch me while I walked back and forth and came back with three different shoes to try. He watched me walk in each pair and asked me what I thought about them, and even laced the shoes up, put them on my feet and tied them for me! Not once did he try to push me towards a pair or get me to buy a more expensive shoe. I love the shoes that I got and will definitely go back next time I need another pair or anything related to running!

Ah, the true test, and exchange. I picked the wrong size. Foolish me. Darrin was gracious as ever. Will be back soon to shoe my daughters.

Darin and his staff are awesome! They are always so helpful and knowledgeable. Darin fit my husband for the perfect running shoes and since our first visit to A Runner's Zone we have purchased Inov8 (Crossfit shoes) and have referred all of our friends there because of their great service and friendly and knowledgeable staff. If you are a runner or are just looking for great products and great service, A Runner's Zone is the place for you!!

very pleased with this shop!! I am training for my second half marathon and I am quite injury prone. I have 3 titanium pins in my hip and patella tendinitis in my knee. I was sick and tired of going to RoadRunner and dealing with salesmen and kids who hadn't the first clue about running hard and long and painful trails. He was very knowledgeable about the shoe companies, analyzed my gait in various shoes, knew tons about the makeup of them and could honestly tell me the reality of what it would be like to put hundreds of miles into a pair of shoes with some very hurt joints. I will only every go to his shop for anything I may ever need for a run or race, but I will also send my friend and sister there, who are beginning to run for the first time ever. I feel that if someone has the experience and expertise to be able to analyze and help a runner with so many issues (me) then he is more than capable of helping anyone coming into that shop!
side note = the shoes i bought (Brooks Glycerin) have done wonders for my running!! knee pain is markedly diminished and the hip actually feels good :) he was completely spot on with his recommendation for shoes and I am feeling confident about my next half marathon in a week!! -

The service was truly phenomenal. My wife has had a terrible time finding shoes that fit because most stores don't carry a high enough size. She's compared a dozen different styles and had to return at least 3 pair before we came to Runner's Zone. Darrin was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and he was able to analyze the issues with her foot and recommend a great shoe to specifically address them. The store is very clean and well laid out, and they seem to carry the most up-to-date models of several brands.

I visited A Runner's Zone for the first time a few weeks ago. I needed a new running shoe and wanted one that would work well for me. The owner was so helpful. He did a foot analysis and brought out several different shoes for me to try. He even laces up, ties, and takes off the shoes for you, which you don't see too much anymore! :) I bought a pair, but after a few runs, realized that they were not working for me. The best part about A Runner's Zone is that they are good business people. I took my used shoes back, he worked with me some more, and allowed me to get a brand new pair of shoes with no extra charge. The owner was very patient and knew his stuff well. The fact that I was not happy with the first pair of shoes was my error, not his. He is very knowledgeable and friendly! I will definitely be going back to A Runner's Zone!
