This was great, our spring broke and I call Dean Denali who referred me to A Plus because he was over booked until later that week. Hamid said he'd send someone out later that day and Sean came by and replaced it quick and for a good price. He was polite and good at what he did. I was happy this was a quick and easy fix and really appreciated the good price.

There's nothing like being stuck in your house cuz your garge door doesn't work.
I called Hamid after extensive research on Yelp for garage door repair. It was very last minute but he made time in the day to come check it out. He was super friendly and did not BS around. I was prepared to shell out $$$ for a new door, but he told me I didn't need it.
He greased up the joints and rails and jiggled things back into place.
All under half an hour and with a smile. -

Hamid, what a nice and helpful man, and what an expert repair. Hamid and his assistant showed up at my house way past his working time because I was concerned about safety because the door wouldn't close. They were at my house fixing my garage door until almost 8 pm! And his quote was reasonable, Hamid was so honest and kind and didn't try to gouge me at all when I was desperate. Bravo!

This guy is amazing! I called him and asked him to come fix my garage door. He quickly walked me through a list of things that could be wrong that I could fix myself, and made me realize that I could, indeed, go home and correct the problem. He even offered that I could call him again and he would talk me through it, though I was able to do it with the information he had already given me during the one phone call.
I didn't have to pay him anything, but I know for sure who I will be calling next time! -

Had to replace my garage door opener. Hamid gave me a quote over the phone and Sean came out to do the install. Everything went well and Sean was very efficient, friendly and thorough. He showed me how to use the new unit and tuned up the rest of the gears and bolts on the door. He swept the garage before leaving to make sure no screws or debris was left behind.
Overall, a great experience and I would definitely recommend them! -

Flawless. Impeccable service, reasonable fees, and very nice and courteous.
3:30 pm on a wet, rainy afternoon - Garage door spontaneously burst something loud and alarming, making it entirely inoperable. I thought it was a spring-thing, but it looked too large and mysterious (and me too unschooled) to verify. But, car was trapped inside and we had to do something fast.
4 pm - we call, in a panic. Explain situation. Hamid says, "sounds like your spring went out. They only last 10 years or so. No problem. " Quoted me a price. Then added, "Let me call you in 10 minutes to see if we can schedule you this afternoon."
4:10 pm - He called back, right on time! (how often does that happen?) Told me Ed would come by in the next 30 to 45 minutes.
Less than 45 minutes later, Ed arrived. Fixed our door. Quickly, efficiently. And then he also gave it a tune-up (and me, a very helpful basic primer on garage door maintenance). And he fixed my garage door button too. And pointed out another issue with my door he suggested i pay attention to in the next year or so. Ed is also a very nice guy.
Bottom line: these people are honest, friendly AND prompt and reliable. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. But I sincerely hope I won't have to for another 10 or so years (after they fix that other issue they helped spot for me). -

My garage door would not open the other day (luckily my car was OUTSIDE rather than stuck in the garage). It turned out that one of the springs had broken and needed to be replaced.
I called the company I who had installed the door a number of years ago and received an estimate of $425 to replace the two springs. Then a friend suggested that I contact Hamid and he gave me an estimate of $275 --- 35% lower than the first one. Additionally, he was able to come out immediately the next morning and one of his associates repaired the problem right away.
I also asked him to do some routine maintenance on the other garage door (which hadn't been looked at since it was installed many years ago), and since he was already at my house, he gave me a $20 discount on that as well. While they were checking the door, they found a missing bracket --- and came back the next day to repair it at no additional charge.
THAT is what I call excellent customer service --- and am happy to give Hamid and his staff the highest recommendation! -

My garage door was busted. The door is one-piece, and has metal brackets and pivots and extension springs to help counterbalance the weight. The extension spring pivot wore out over 50+ years and finally got thin enough that the pivot bolt snapped in two, releasing the spring with a loud thwack! The spring side of the pivot was also damaged/worn.
I am mechanically inclined, but after a couple trips to hardware stores, I realized that nobody is going to have parts on the shelf for something so old. I needed help!
I made the call to A Plus (~9am Monday). A couple hours passed and I heard nothing, so I sent an email with a description and pictures of my issue. I should note that my situation was not an emergency or security issue, because the door opened and closed OK - with a helping hand. So I wasn't worrying. People get busy.
In the afternoon, Hamid called me back, and he had listened to my message AND reviewed the pictures. I mention that because I was glad that I didn't waste my time with pictures, and I didn't have to explain the situation all over again. Best of all, he was 15 minutes from my place, and ready to come over.
After a quick evaluation, he went back to his truck and started digging. In a short time, he managed to produce not "something close" to what my door needed, but the _EXACT_ parts that were needed.
Whoa. This is what 5 stars is about, people.
Our arrangement was for me to buy the parts and install myself, which I did in about 15 minutes - with his helpful tips. I was very happy with the result, and very happy with the price! -

Garage door spring bit the dust at 9pm - trapping our tenant's car in the garage and ours of out it. Called A Plus at 8:30am the next morning, and by noon Sean had installed a new spring, put a brace on a broken board on the garage door, and given the whole thing a tune up. Quick, painless, and I think it works better than it ever did. I should mention Sean was also a pleasure to work with - amiable, honest, and uber - efficient. I highly recommend both Sean and A Plus overall.

Hamid is amazing. He installed our garage door a few years back and since then, the tracks have picked up squeaks and the motor has developed a little bit of a personality. I called him up, he remembered installing our door even though years have passed. He really took care of us for calling him back for maintenance after the installation. I can tell he really values the customer relationship. I was able to conveniently set a temporary garage code and leave him a check inside the garage, allowing me to be at work while he came and performed his magic. When I got home, the thing didn't make a sound. I had forgotten how quiet it was when new. Do yourself a favor: if you can't decide who to use for your garage door installation or maintenance just end the search here. I know I sound like a shill, but if you have to hire out work on your home you know how time consuming it is to find the right person for the job who you can call time and again without needing a phone book again the next time. This is it.

we love our new garage door!!!
i was looking for a replacement since our garage door is one of the first ones ever made. I found three garage door companies through yelp and were getting bids. I called A Plus last and met Hamid. He suggested me a few options and I was still pretty fickle because i wanted to also give the house face lift and did not feel comfortable picking out a garage door without really thinking out the whole look of the house..
our garage door was totally on its last leg and Hamid secured it so it could last me another month before i could replace it. after much consideration i wanted to go with A Plus.
A week later I was connected with Outerlands Design and Jared the owner took over the whole process from windows to painting to garage doors. Well turns out Outerlands uses A Plus too!!! HAHAHAHAH
it was meant to be!!!!
Hamid revisited my home with Ed and took care of all of my needs.
Hooked me up with all the bells and whistles. I have to coolest garage door thanks to the nicest guys ever.

This update is for a new garage door and opener. Since Hamid guaranteed his work the past 2 years since I contacted him to fix my old garage door and opener (he came over a few times at no cost to fix the door whenever the setting got messed up because our old school garage door was so heavy), I knew I'd be calling him again to get a new door and opener. In my opinion, it's never worth going to Home Depot or Lowe's to deal with people who don't know the products very well AND take at least a few weeks for order and installation of a garage door; it's not any cheaper and you don't have to drive out to the 'burbs to go to the warehouse...Hamid comes out to you each time.
He came over to give us a quote and presented various options. We immediately ordered the door from him and he installed it the day it arrived. He even threw in the keypad option for free!
Hamid has ALWAYS been easy to work with, reliable, reasonably priced, and fast. It's nice knowing that if anything ever goes wrong, I can always call Hamid up and I know he will have a solution. This review is a bit over due but I wanted to make sure I got around to it because Hamid and Ed did a great job with installing our new garage door. We originally contacted A-Plus when our old garage door was getting stuck mid way. Hamid came out on short notice and repaired our door to working order again. We had been planning on getting a new garage door for some time so since I had a good impression of Hamid and his work ethic, we decided to get our new door from A-Plus.
Hamid was really patient with our requests for information on different models and configurations and gave great advice for which types of doors would work with our house. We wanted a low maintenance door so chose an aluminum door with fogged white glass windows.
Installation day proceeded smoothly with Hamid and Ed arriving around 10am and wrapping up around 5pm. The fit and finish of the door was excellent and Hamid and Ed worked well together. Ed even helped me install a new mailbox after he finished with the garage door. We used to get our mail through the old wooden garage door mail slot. It's that kind of effort and thoughtfulness that stands out and warrants the highest rating.
It's been over two weeks with our new garage door and we really like the improvements (brighter inside garage, keypad entry, look). Hamid and Ed are trust worthy people who really know what they are doing. I have no hesitation in recommending them to any one looking for garage repair or replacement. -

Hamid's second visit to my garage was due to a burned out automatic garage door opener. (The first visit a bunch of years ago...just needed a physical and a tune up).
Hamid examined the patient, ordered up a new automatic opener and came the next day to complete the job. My new opener is quieter and better. He rigged up my existing wires so I can open the door on my way out. He fixed a lock. He oiled up the bearings.
Gotta say that the next time I'm in need of a garage door doctor, I'm giving Hamid a shout. Dependable and prompt! -

Here's my story: So I'm a college student living at my parents house. It's late and my girlfriend is over. She wants to grab a bite to eat, but I'm extremely tired, so I tell her she has to drive(she is a licensed driver.) The car is parked in the driveway, I get in the passenger side, she gets in the driver side. She starts the car, puts the car in gear, and I realize she's in drive and not in reverse, so i tell her to stop the car. Next thing I know she slams on the gas and we go right through the garage door. It was like something out of the movies. Needless to say, I was in a load of trouble.
The next day I look up A Plus Garage Door Company and saw many good reviews, I called them for an estimate and Hamid came to my house and told me what he could do for me. Comparing his prices to the competitors, Hamid had the best prices. All of the other garage repair companies said they would have to replace the entire garage door for a hefty price. Hamid offered to replace the whole garage door or just repair the broken panels on the door, which I opted for.
In two days, Hamid had the garage door looking like new.
Very accommodating, very affordable, and very fast. -

A Plus Garage Door Company to the rescue!!!! I was unable to close my garage door on a Sunday afternoon. On Monday, I called A Plus, got a call right back, and Hamid scheduled a visit immediately. Sean came out and was so pleasant and efficient. Hamid came out a little bit later and within the hour, the garage door was not only fixed but working much better than it ever had before!.
Can't wait to get our new garage doors from A Plus when we are ready. I highly recommend this company for their knowledgeable, friendly and professional service.

I came home from an oversees trip and the garage door would not open! When I looked, I noticed that one of the springs/spindles broke. I called A-Plus and asked them if they could fix it before the end of the day. Sean was here in an hour and less than an hour later the door was working better/quieter than before. Great, prompt and courteous service - what else can one ask for?

My 18 year-old garage door spring broke. I called A Plus and they came out and fixed it the same day. We realized that the opener itself also had a broken part, which they came back out and fixed the next day that I was available. The technician, Sean was courteous and professional. He arrived when he said he would, worked very quickly and he cleaned up after himself. How often do repair people do that? When my opener eventually wears out, I will certainly call A Plus to replace it. I am a very happy customer and recommend A Plus, without any reservation.

Needed to replace the remote for an older receiver and had the hardest problem finding one. Bought a couple wrong remotes and even the universal receiver without luck. Even went to Sears which was the brand of the opener and they didn't know. So got sick and tired of looking and wasting gas.
Found these guys and they wanted $50+ for coming out, replacing and programing. They came out and found out I had the right remote so it was a simple $20 for programing. -

Hamid... great guy... sorted out my 50 year old garage door - the spring was shot, it was unaligned and woudn't close ... now she shuts like a clam.
When it comes time to replace the entire door, which I will eventually need to do (she's 50 after all), I will be calling him again.

SCENE: Sitting in car, rain coming down in buckets, parked in the driveway.
"Hey, where's the garage door opener?"
"What do you mean; isn't it in the usual place?"
"Nope."
Frantic search ensues. Eventually, we run in the rain, open the garage door manually, then park. Search resumes in apartment then repeats at work, to no avail.
"Guess it's lost. Damn."
And with that, the search began, hunting high and low for a reasonably priced garage door opener replacement, plus the programming. Eventually, we found A Plus. I called, made an appointment for the following day, and the gentlemen showed up right on time. Less than five minutes later, I had a programmed remote in hand.
On top of this, they were friendly, polite, and decent guys to yap with as they rapidly did an excellent job.
"The new remote stays on the visor, okay?"
"Got it."

Needed garage door maintenance after doing a repair on the opener, and found A+ Garage Door... right in the area (Outer Richmond)...
Emailed, and got an instant call back, and they said they could come by immediately. Hamid (owner) came by in 15 minutes. Very friendly, knowledgeable, thorough and fast. Inspected everything, adjusted torsion springs, made adjustments to the section door, and lubricated everything. Very reasonable charge as well.
Next time, instead of doing the opener installation myself (ugh), will definitely be calling them! -

A Plus Garage Door Company's owner, Hamid, and his staff were professional, efficient and thorough. My garage door is old as is the spring set up. Hamid worked to get a top notch garage door opener installed and worked with the door I have but cannot replace at this time. Great communication, on time, and able to deal with small problems that came up when working with an older house. Shawn, who also worked on the installation was quick, knowledgeable and resourceful.

Wow! What a pleasant experience! Our garage door broke- could not even manually lift the door and called the "emergency " number for Automatic Garage Door (they installed the door) on Tuesday (about 7 pm) and they never returned my call. There are 4 cars in the garage, many bikes and tennants, no parking in the neighborhood, so we needed it fixed ASAP. I phoned AGD again twice on Wednesday morning and got the run around, major attitude, need to pay for emergency service later that day, blah, blah, blah....Found these rave reviews about A Plus Garage Door and you were all right! Hamid said he could come over within a few hours (they were early for their appointment!) and explained the problem very clearly,gave me a fair quote, and had it fixed within an hour. Now THAT's service. Thank-you!

Great, quick service at a reasonable price.
Cable came loose on garage door, but it had been acting pretty crappy before that. Called Hamid after checking on Yelp and he came over the same afternoon.
The cable came loose because the ball bearings in one of the drums had come out and had been causing the whole thing to be misaligned.
It was repaired quickly and everything was well explained.
Happy to give top rating and happy the damn door isn't stuck open. -

Hamid sets the standard for quality, attention to detail, workmanship, honesty and integrity. A REALLY good honest guy!
In a hurry (to go shopping) I didn't wait until my garage door fully opened. I ended up backing in to the garage door and shattered my back car window and busted the garage door. The bottom wheels of the garage door ended being pushed off its tracks and one of the wheel came flying out. And the bottom right corner of the garage door ended up splitting open. I was like, "Holy Crap, what will the hubby say? He's never going to let me go shopping ever again!"
Anyhow, found Hamid on yelp (THANK YOU YELPERS, you are the Bible to finding good companies, people and restaurants!).
Moving on...... Called Hamid, explained to him what happened, and he was calm and said it should no problem. Came with in 30 minutes with he's right hand man Ed.
First thing Hamid asked, " Are you alright?"
I said," not really"
Hamid said," It's only a garage door, just as long as everyone is okay, things will be fine."
OMG, the dude.... was sent from heaven or something!
So then he and Ed proceeded to evaluate the damage. Said that he would brace bottom of the garage door where it was split, so that it won't need to be replaced, because we had a red wood garage door and is worth saving because if we were to replace that one section it would be really expensive.
Asked him how much would it be to fix everything. He said you're my neighbor, so I won't charge you extra the ER Site Fee was was nearly $200 bucks! Said he would charge the regular hourly fee plus whatever parts he ends up replacing.
Hamid and Ed worked their magic. After he braced and put back on the wheel of the garage door, he ended up evaluating the over all integrity of our door and ...boy was it in bad shape. Pretty much our garage door was poorly installed. They tighten ALL the bolts, grease moving rotating parts. Realigned the chain, the tracks and the brace that was holding the tracks up. Took out all the BAD parts(screws, nails etc, that weren't suppose to be there). Put in new screws and bolts where needed. Fixed the tension control and made sure the door was opening and closing smoothly manually and with the auto garage door opener. So he did all that for only $200 bucks!!!!!!!!
Now our garage door has never been better!!! I have NEVER ever met someone with so much attention to detail and the workmanship is GRADE A+. Did I mention how honest these guys where? Did I mention how they were sent form heaven?

Just bought a house and needed a few things done. Hamid did an upgrade from a manual barn door garage to a motorized sectional w/ remotes. Most of my estimates were pretty close.
Very glad I went with A Plus. They arrived on time and got it all done inside the time-frame they estimated. Hamid and his guy were prompt, clean cut, polite and cleaned up very well after themselves, unlike my electrician who left an unholy mess behind.
Hamid, his worker and A Plus are very recommendable. -

Hamid is quick, responsive, and reliable.
We were about to install a garage door opener purchased through Home Depot, until the garage door company--I believe called Frank's Garage--(recommended by Home Depot) told me that it will cost an additional $300 because we had to replace several parts of the garage door. Even though we had paid for the costs for both parts and labor, they still wouldn't install the garage door opener until we paid the additional $300. This delay was unacceptable since it also required them to reschedule the appointment--making me miss out on a day of work.
The total costs rounded up to around $800! The service was not only unprofessional--I actually felt uncomfortable when their service man came out--but the service man came out 2 hours late.
We ended up calling Hamid for a second opinion, and he came out to our house within 30 minutes of the call. He reviewed the garage door and said that the only thing we needed was a new pulley....which cost only $65 to replace (including labor). We quickly cancelled our Home Depot order and commissioned Hamid to install a new garage door opener. The total costs, including labor, parts (for a specific type of garage door opener) and the replacement pulleys, was around $535. The total job took less than 2 hours.
I highly recommend A+ Garage Door Company and Hamid for your garage door related job! -

Prompt service, not so quick to deposit my check. A bit pricey for an easy fix.
Two cables disconnected, took 10 minutes to fix, cost $115.
Service was paid for on the 1st of the month, the check wasn't deposited until the 15th. Living paycheck to paycheck and having $100 come out of your account halfway into the month is a bit annoying. I seldom write checks and when I do, I usually give a check about a week to clear. I should have kept an eye on my bank transactions, but two weeks?! Geez. We're lucky it didn't bounce. -

I noticed over the weekend that the cable on our garage door was looking to be frayed and overly used. Luckily I found this review on here and decided to make the call!! I called this morning, and luckily Hamid was able to come by my house to replace it by the end of the day!!! He totally worked around my schedule (HIGHLY APPRECIATED)!!!! Hamid did a great job in replacing our frayed cable on our garage door! He was quick, efficient, and even went the extra mile in checking to be sure the spring and other parts were in order!!!! A-Plus Garage Door Co. gets an A++++ from me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
