    Ok so here it is
    1. Maya has naughty dog who has a hard time behaving despite numerous attempts at behavior modification.
2.he is not a bad dog, he just likes to do things his way.
3.Chris and Darlene have managed to make naughty dog understand that to look as handsome as he does when he comes home and if he wants to be washed with organic products and not risk getting his eye poked out by someone who is not as wonderful as they are who is trying to groom him, he needs to do what is expected.
4.Mommy no longer washes doggy with suave strawberry or gets scratched by doggies nails and feels comfortable leaving dog with The Groomer, cause that is her baby and he is this is the only place that the little dog goes outside the family.

I just joined YELP else I would have said this 7 years ago. No better place in San Diego!

I love A Pet's Best Friend! I have three dogs, one of which is kind of fearful and difficult, and I bring all of them here to be groomed.

The prices are incredibly reasonable, and they do great work. My dogs always come out smelling nice, their nails get clipped, and they always get complimentary little bandannas to wear home. The part I like best is that my dogs look more happy coming out than they did going in. My dogs love walks and adventures, but they don't like going into buildings, other than the house, at all. So, they cower going in, and then they're all happy when I pick them up. It's really important to me to return and see that my dogs have been treated well and are happy. I know that to some people, dogs are like kids, so it's important to find someone that you trust when leaving your dogs in the care of someone else. I trust the employees at A Pet's Best Friend.

The people at APBF are supercool, the prices are reasonable, and my dogs are all happy after getting groomed here. We make a not-exactly-short drive to come here, so I highly recommend this place.

    just down the street, poifect!!!

my sister took our puppy here on tuesday and when i got home from she smelled spectacular! she even had a little bow on, she looked so cute.

this place is legit, they know their shit. they told my sister that stella's hair was sparce on her paws and face and they asked if she bites herself or scratches her ears, which she totally does! they told my sister that it's b.c she's allergic to the food she's eating. pedigree is apparently one of the worst brands of dog food. thanks goodness for this place otherwise, we'd still be feeding her that stuff and we'd have patches of no hair in no time.

good prices and stella came back super clean, smelling great! they also have wash your own pets stations, but why do all the work when for only a couple bucks more, they do it all for you, and right!

I brought my pomeranian here over a month ago after researching on Yelp for a better place for grooming. Had been taking her to Petco and this place appeared to be a little cheaper and for pet-friendly (according to what I read). I called to make an appointment and they were pretty booked up (seemed busy everywhere at the time because even Petco was over a week booked out when I called that same time). Anyhow, I was ok with waiting. I brought her in for an appt at 10am. The place was easy to find, but definitely could use a remodel - but then again, its a pet grooming place in Serra Mesa so what should I expect? The guy that helped me was a little intimidating. He didn't seem very friendly, but he was very touching with my dog so I guess that's what matters. I didn't like that there was no clear Price list signage or anything posted. I also didn't like that they didn't require proof of rabies/vaccinations (what if there was an accident between dogs?)

Btw... I tried to give a person's name as a referral so that they could get $5 off next time... but it kinda got put on the back burner when he asked if I knew what the pet's name was?  I did get $5 off for being a new client.

Anyhow, I asked for a "lion cut" and the guy was trying to explain to me how close it would be cut. I tried to ask him if it could be thicker because I really didn't want it to be too close to her skin. But i got the vibe like I shouldn't have said anything. =/

So then I left my pom there and was told it would take about 3 hours. Wow. when 3 hours came, I decided to call and check up and was told they were just working on her...

Ok.... so I get there to pick her up. WOW. She surely looked like a lion. but man was her coat short! It was definitely much shorter than i'm used to nor that I wanted. I gotta give it up to them though - it was a very clean, well-done cut! They even added a cute easter bandanna around her neck.

In taking her home.... i felt like she felt embarassed about her haircut or something. she was sad looking.... and was shivering throughout the next couple of days. Probably not used to feeling so naked. Had to put a sweater on her. hmmmm... I wasn't sure if they had brushed her teeth or not like I had requested - her grill didn't look any better than usual.

All in all, I have mixed feelings about the place. They did do a good job on the cut, but I don't feel any rush to come back.

A pets best friend is great. I have 2 very spoiled dogs (a poodle and a bichon) that usually go to the groomers a couple of times a week. The owners are awesome and love the dogs, my puppies are always happy and excited to go there. I like to play with my poodles hair cuts a little bit and they always do a great job.  Thanks Guy's. ...

This place rocks! I take my little beagle Henry there and he loves it. It is very reasonably priced and the owners/operators are total dog lovers who love what they are doing. Weather you wash your dog yourself or have them do the grooming, its always a great experience. If I walk my dog by the building he starts going nuts and wants to go in and say hi. If you love your dog take them to this place to groom them.

Wonderful friendly efficient and inexpensive.  The owners are great.  Choices of either do-it-yourself washing or the doggie spa.  The hydro-surge system is wonderful...our dog Hurley loves it and actually sits still for it (unless we take too long then he's ready to get out).  Blow dry and towel dry afterwards is just the right finishing touch.
