Just a note: I'm reviewing this more than a year later.  Better late than never, right?

This was my second Elite event ever and probably my favorite Yelp LA event so far as of the date of this review.  First and foremost, I loved the Christmas Pajama theme.  Perfect for the holiday season and just a whole lot of fun.  The venue, the music, the food and the drinks were all amazing.  The raffle sponsored by New Egg was also really cool.  Too bad I didn't win anything!

This event also featured one of the best photo booths I've been in so far.  Me, my amazing +1 and some awesome X-Mas props made for a ridiculously cute Christmas photo!

Thank you so much, Christina Y. and Katie. B for all the hard work you put into these events.

I know this is uber late, but I just realized that I haven't reviewed this event yet!

I can officially say that I have tried grasshoppers, thanks to Yelp! All the sweets were delectable. I remember being on a major sugar high.

The best part was that this event raised money for a local charity!

I don't have to dress up?  Wah?  I can come in baggie pjs and a t-shirt?  Bacon wrapped jalapeno tater tots?  *shakes fist at sky*
Why must you do this to me?  *diet walks out door*

The El Rey was an amazing space to have this event, spacious and beautiful, with a nice centered dance floor perfect for a booty shaking moment if one was feeling it.

Represented my Japos with my sushi pah jah mas amongst cutsie onesies, gel masks, handsome robes, and hello kitty jammies! Thank you Christina, Katie, Hazel and all the vendors for putting together an awesome Christmas party to spend with my lovely Yelp Family!!!

Skipped out on the crickets and made a bee line ofcourse for the Magnolia sweet tooth dream spread of cupcakes, cookies, brownies and their famous banana pudding! YUM. Thanks Dee for snagging some mole for us! Bacon Wrapped Tots were calling all our names. Dude somehow scored two, he must have danced for him, and gave away his bacon treat to Miss Ad Hoc tattoo Ciara! Electronic Playground was a cool idea, but the real dance battle was on the dancefloor! Thanks for the show! Loved Erin V's snow dance! Those fingerless yelp gloves were so cute-i'm gonna hunt them down next time!

Great seeing everyone and meeting some new buddies! Happy Holidays everyone!

It sure is nice to come home and not have to change into PJs!  A fun night for sure...Yelpers filled the El Rey for a festive holiday PJ party!  Food (most notably desserts from Magnolia Bakery) and drinks all around, and Newegg (hey, I bought a computer from them!) had some fun games and cool raffle prizes! There was a foam ornament station upstairs and the great project photobooth props and shots! So many fun things going on at once!

And we got Yelp balls and gloves; awesome additions to our little Yelp collection. That's right, I've got balls now! :)

All those things aside, it really is the people that make these events so great. We got to hang out with and say hi to so many of our Yelp friends! Great job Katie and Christina, with some help from Hazel (+Mike) from OC and even Danny all the way from SD! And of course, thanks to the El Rey and all of the vendors who made the night a success!

It sure was getting hot in here...my monkey slippers had a long night and were amazed at all the action they saw!

P.s. Extra awesome = collecting donations of money and books! I know I wasn't the only one to bring more than the minimum to donate! Sharing is caring...

    I gotta start this review off with a HOLLA at my bartender hottie Eric. He kept me well hydrated throughout the evening with the complimentary cocktails from ri1 whiskey and VeeV vodka. He was also awesome to come groove with me a bit at the end of the night. Eric- Hope I didn't get you in trouble. Oh and HOLLA at my PM. Actually, you have my name tag (;

Food....Libertine had me at BACON WRAPPED JALAPENO STUFFED TATER TOTS!  Which I am happy to report that are on their menu regularly. Jason the GM of the joint was frying those tasty suckers up like crazy. I have to give him a shout out as I basically whored myself out for bacon. He was kind enough to pass me on a plate full on the side as I continued to bother him while he was trying to work. Such a doll (and cute) and a good sport.

My goal tonight was drink, photog it up, dance and meet.

I drank. Lots. Thank you again to Eric.

Project Photobooth is always good times! Photog Alex K. did a great job capturing the nights moments. Huge props to him as it was his first yelp event.

I danced. I grooved. I cruised around the room. Michelle T. and Dude Tony S. are my groovin partners. Even got down with Alvin V. some.

Meet. I had a few special yelpers I was on the hunt for...kent d, Lei B. and Jerome W. makes mission complete! Plus a few bonus surprises...TESS M. was there (I love her bc my photo compliment count would be nothinh without Miss Tess)!!!! I knew they were going to be there but I was still super excited to see my bacon bud Cesar R. and his wife Maritza. Seeing Will S. brought a smile to my face but I was bummed I didn't need a ride to my car this time and I finally officially got to meet Lily A. Edward B. when we havin babies and Yelpstick (Ron N.) you OWE ME A DANCE times TWO!

Katie B. and Christina Y. giiiiirrrrrlllllssss you are the BEST......and you can't forget about the awesome Hazel Q. and Danny W. all you CM's done did it again. The El Rey was the perfect spot in El Lay for our holiday bash. Thank you for another memorable night.

I was lovin the jammer theme. All I gotta say is sneaks off, bra off and I'm ready for bed.

Merry Yelpmas y'all and to all a yelpy night!

    MERRYCHRISMAHANUKWANZAAKUH-YELPMAS!

Yeah boi! Say that three times fast while break dancing in your jammies!

Speaking of breaking- yes there was a battle and somehow I got thrown in the mix! Just had to show 'old school' Ryan M some new school tricks. For those who witnessed it, I hope your eyes didn't burn from my lack of skillz. But had to do it. Then I stepped aside to let the boys do their thing.

Food- check. Oh wait did I eat?
Crickets- weren't chriping since I gobbled a few. Mind over matter on trying them. Tasty but a little hard to swallow.
Drinks- poured on the light side but hell I'm a lightweight so no prob for me in that dept. They were tasty!
    Desserts- Hell Ya!
    Donations- Check and check!
Ornament making station- I was a little distracted so I didn't finish making my ornament. : (

Music and entertainment- seriously, if your booty wasn't shaking and groovin- damn Grinch! Hahaha JK. It did get a little toasty in there that I had to strip down to my shirt and shorts.

It's tough being (an elite) gangsta! Free food and awesome party, if you weren't at El Rey- you missed a damn good party thanks to our CMs Christina Y and hug-a-liscious Katie B and all the sponsors.

Huge shout outs to CMs SD Danny and OC Hazel!  You guys kicked butt at the door.

Photos- I photo bombed a couple of shots- hehehe. Big ups to the photogs.

I'm shocked Hugo didn't win the lingerie raffle prize.

To my Yelpy friends- my egg bog cup runneth over! What's an event without you guys?
Lily and Zeela- hey carpool buddies thanks for driving.

To my wifey- thank you for being my X-mas present 365 days of the year.

Can't wait for the OC event!

Katie B and Christina Y, it's been too long!  Thanks for another super fun time tonight, and an excuse to wear comfy PJs and socks - and NO HEELS, wooohooeeeee!!!

Libertine had YUMMY bacon-wrapped tots and grilled cheese sammich bites, and I finally got to try Magnolia Bakery's Banana Pudding (AWESOME!).  I didn't get to try the tamales and mole from Guelaguetza, but I know their food is great - so nice food choice!

The upstairs balcony and bar areas were SWAGalicious - even if I did only get to see those cool Yelp fingerless gloves from afar....sniffle....

http://Newegg.com gave away some awesome raffle prizes - and it was fun watching everyone get into the Xbox Kinnect stuff onstage.

Project Photobooth and photographer Alex did a cool job with the photo ops, and Newestra kept the beats going til there was no more food OR swag!

Damn, did Hazel Q look ADORABLE right up front in her fuzzy pink hooded pjs!  I'm sad that I totally missed seeing Danny W from SD : (.  It was great seeing all my friends - new and old!

I was warm and fuzzy inside and out after donating a bag of books to LA Works for the Echo Park Library, and some cash at the door.  Tis the season, after all : D.

Merry Yelpmas to all, and to all a good night!

Kudos to Yelp's Wonder Women, Community Managers:  Christina Y., Katie B. and Hazel Q. for making it all happen seamlessly.  Y'all bumped that bah humbug right outa me with spectacular food, libations and entertainment!
Was so good to reconnect in person with my current Yelp buds and to make new friends.  Equally good was to roll home then directly into bed, already in my PJ's!!!

    YELPMAS!

I haven't been to a yelp event in FOREVER and I was so happy to be able to go to this one. Yummy treats from Magnolia! My most favorite one was that banana dessert. I also loved the red velvet cheesecake. And LIBERTINE swooned me with that tater tot wrapped in bacon with a jalepeno in the inside. I loved them so much that I went in line for seconds JUST for those tater tots. Thanks to RAJ he gave me two the second time I came back ;)  The DJ dropped some nice beats and thanks to Richard T I scored some nice pictures at the PhotoBooth. PLUS I got some cool Yelp swag, like my Yelp gloves that make me feel like Michael Jackson.

What I also loved about this event was the theme itself. It took like 5 seconds to figure what I was going wear, and the only hard part was choosing between my snowmen or snowflake pjs. Too bad I didn't have a onsie.

And how can I forget my Yelper friends:
-May W. Hi gf. Hi carpool buddy. You're so nice to me and I love your piggy back pack.
-Kay Anne I. You never fail me with being a great date.
-Kwiri Y: girl.. you crazy! jk. I'm glad I was able to escort you to Walgreens so you wouldn't be walking in there alone with your pjammies.
-Carol L. loved seeing you! It has beeen FOREVER!
-Anthony N: looking good my friend! Keep it up!
-Mel P: Woot woot! Got to see you at a Yelp event!
-Regina M: And I saw you too! Congrats with becoming an ELITE!
    -Dee T., always a pleasure!
-Bong E: friend from the IE!
-Michelle T: glad to see you again!
-Cesar R: bacon friend! Loved your shirt and too bad it was too hot to wear your big outfit!
-Christina Y and Katie B: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR A LOVELY EVENT! I still remember meeting you guys a year ago at the Xmas Party. You guys have come so far :D

Pajamas, and booze, and bouncy balls oh my. Seriously, I thought the lunch boxes were the best Yelp shwag but huge bouncy balls are just too much fun... GENIUS!

I have to say I'm sad I didn't wear pajamas, but coming straight from my work holiday party there simply wasn't time. I suppose I could have worn pajamas to my work gig as well, but that might not have gone over too hot...

Such a good time, as always, and big thanks to the Yelp CMs making it happen. Love love love how there always seems to be a photo booth or photographer to capture the good times, huge plus. My first trip to the El Rey as well, what a nice spot!

Terrific seeing all the Yelp peeps out there, great group. Now please excuse me, two holiday parties in one night has left me with a mild headache and I must go find some hashbrowns. Til next time, thanks Yelp!

Ain't nuthin like a Yelpmas party
All my fave Yelp peeps in the same mother effin place at the same mother effin time!
All you foodies and party peeps bout to feel this
Break out the onesies and mother effin pajamas
And have a drink on Yelp.

CUZ AIN'T NUTHIN LIKE A MOTHA EFFIN YELPMAS PARTY!

Mad props to Christina Y and Katies B for throwing one helluva party!  I've said it a million times but I'll say it again you sexy mamacitas are truly one of a kind (or maybe two of a kind) and Yelp is lucky to have the both of you runnin $hit here in LA. Hazel and Danny you are pretty damn cool too!

Music was on point, drinks were flowing and the food was off the hook.  I didn't try much other than the bacon wrapped taters and banana pudding because in typical Yelp fashion I was double fisting and gettin my crunk on!  But thank god for the 10 or so taters I had on my way out that helped me get to back to sober street.

It sooooo great seeing everyone and getting my groove on in a brand new set of PJs! Big shout out to Vinh for having the best outfit of the night.  Loved the pajama jammy jam theme and loved that I rolled straight to bed in my party outfit!

Its nights like this that make me realize how lucky we all are to be a part of this crazy thing called Yelp.  EVERYONE brings a little something to the table and when we're all under the same roof  its pretty much magic.

    I LOVE YOU GUYS!

    cool people in their jammies!

    Highlights:

Meeting my Yelp friends in person! The awesome Ciara G!  Both Anthony Ns!!, Jerome W, and Michelle T!
It was great to finally meet Hazel Q and Mike Q, as well! Thanks for making my night memorable!  You guys were awesome!

    The food:
    Libertine served up tasty bacon-wrapped
Jalepeno tater tots, melty ham & cheese mini sandwiches, and flavorful hummus with pita. Yummmm!

I also got to try Magnolia Bakery's Banana Pudding! Creamy and delicious! I missed out on some of the other desserts, though...darn!

The tamales and mole from Guelaguetza were scrumptious and the free drinks from Veev and ri1 set the tone for a funfilled evening!

The music:  Newestra kept the night buzzing with a hot mix of old school jams and top 40 hits!

Project Photobooth did a great job at capturing some memorable photos, while Newegg kept the suspense pumping with an impressive holiday raffle!

Twas the night before Yelp Xmas, when all through The El Rey Theater
Cars passing Wilshire Blvd, faces starred at us weirder and weirder
No stockings were hung but the lights in display had a strong flare
In hopes that St . Elites and + 1 Yelpers soon would be there.

The yelpers were nestled all anxious in line
While visions of a kick ass party would soon be divine
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a stampede of pajamas but not as cute as my reindeer ;)

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~*~*~*~

It's 11:46 P.M on Friday night and I'm still a bit hungover. Ok no I'm not but Oh Em GEE! what a lovely, fantastic, awesome party last night!

I have to admit, I was a bit worried about me being the only one that would be dressed in a onesi pajama set but all that anxiety went away as soon as I saw 98% of the crowd in their own jamers. Plus I was a bit proud of my little reindeer feet.

I bumped, I saw, I shook, I snapped, I talked, I danced, and hugged to many old friends and a lot of new yelpers.  It always feels as though there's a huge reunion without the embarrassing stories or the " whats your profession now?" factor.

Didn't get to eat much of the food due to the long lines but I surely got my drink on. The bartenders did an amazing job keeping up with the pace and always having a smile on their face. Ciara even got one to go dance with her! Awww yea.

Best part of this event? The donations and charity that went to LA Works and of course our wonderful CM's giving us a chance to win some cool prizes.

With this I say... Thank YOU! To our wonderful CM's and to my wonderful friends. Without you guys .. this year definitely wouldn't have been as great as it has been. Huge Kudos to Alek for being a photographer at the event AND making an appearance as a new yelper himself. You did AH SUM!

It's always fun to see Yelpers in funky jammies, rocking out!  Yelpmas was just what the doctor ordered: yummy eats, plenty of drinks and amazing people.

And it top off the amazingness with yelp-balls and gloves. I'm not gonna lie, I was totally on the hunt for a yelp-glove.

    So. Much. FUN!!!!!! :)

First of all, great idea doing a book drive and donation to the Echo Park Library Council. Or was the cash donation for LA Works? I'm not sure...but I like that guests were encouraged to help out the community!

Second, I'd just like to point out that I had the best fuzzy slippers at the party: http://su.pr/1IsInU ...jealous? ;)

Third, I've only been attending Yelp events since October and WOW I know a lot of people! Shout out to Karey R., Cecilia C., Mary C., Vanessa R., Jeanie C., Zeela D., Lily A., Jenny B., Jin Y. & Dave, Panida R., Anthony N., Valerie C., Andrea V., Erin V., Isabel F., Hugo C., Alexis O. ...did I miss anybody? It was nice seeing you all there! Shout out to making new Yelp friends with Eduardo G. and Dee D. Thanks Katie B. and Christina Y. for the great party! Hazel Q., thanks for the Food Truck Festival ticket! And of course a special shoutout to my +1 Erin W. Being surrounded by so many cool friends really made this event special :)

Also, SCORE on the Yelp swag! Diggin the keychain/bottle opener and the bouncy ball!

I don't have too much to say about the food cuz I'm the picky-eater vegan of the group but I will say that I was enjoying the pita and hummus from Libertine until clumsy me knocked it off the side of the table and spilled it all along the side of the table cloth :/ (insert sad trombone sound here) Perhaps I had one too many Brazilian Mule's - ginger ale and VeeV Açai liquor.

Project Photo Booth, omg thank you for all the awesome pictures!!! The photobooth was my favorite part of the event. The music was awesome too. Good times on the dance floor! I LOVED seeing everyone in pajamas. Saw some cute ones and it made me laugh to hear several people tell me they got their PJ's from Target. It's like the go-to pajamas store...lol!

It still blows me away that everything here was FREE!!! This was AMAZING!!! Thank you Yelp! As a newly-badged Elite, thanks for making my first Elite event, as an Elite, memorable! :)

Besides the crazy lines how can you not appreciate all the freebies galore?! I'll definitely be wearing my Geek On t-shirt from Newegg proudly! The lines actually weren't that bad, especially with Newestra getting me in the groove with some 90's RnB!

Once again it was nice to see familiar faces and finally meeting some Yelp friends (Jenny B, Ciara G, and Bong E). All of you have such lovely faces that I hope to see soon!

Much love to our amazing Yelp CMs Katie B, Christina Y, and Hazel Q! You ladies rock my holiday socks off!

    P.S.
If anyone loved the banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery, I have a recipe that's *quite* similar. So holla at cha' gurl if you want it! =P

Oh this was a blast!!! I agree with another yelper who stole my word of the season: AMAZE-BALLS!!! haha.

There was delicious food, i loved the mole tamales. thank you Guelaguetza. omg, whatever that black (mole?? ) sauce was i could eat it by the gallon. i was dipping my chips in it and damn near licked it off my plate. soooooo gooood! Also - I ATE A CRICKET! and didnt hate it. haha. it was fried, sprinkled with salt and a squeeze of lime juice. It kinda tasted like a cross between a corn nut and beef jerkey. Im not gonna start craving them, but im glad i tried it. :)

The ham sammiches from libertine were pretty damn amazing as well. what is their secret to the ham??? that wasnt your sliced deli ham, that was, a "we roasted a whole freaking ham with a honey baked style glaze and carved that sucker up for your gourmet sammiches" amaze-balls. again. and bacon wrapped tater tot jalepeno popper things?? it was wrapped in bacon. enough said. lol

And the desserts!!! omg. the banana pudding. it was so fluffy and creamy and the flavors all worked together so well and it was perfect. I wish i could have stuffed some in my purse. I should have tried, despite the potential mess. haha. they also had red velvet cupcakes, red velvet cheesecake, peanut butter bars, black and white cookies other cupcakes, blondie brownies and the regual chocolate ones. and pretty much everything you could possibly want made of sugar and it was all really really good. Calories dont cout at holiday parties people, its a gift from santa.

The food was all so phenomenal and none of it ran out! all night long they were making fresh food and keeping us yelpers well-fed and happy. I love that.

I was drinking the Ri1 whiskey with gingerale all night long and made friends with the bartender upstairs. mmmm whiskey.

The picture booth was great! I have some really adorable photos from it and omg did you make an ornament?! I did!! and i even left it on the yelp tree like you were supposed to haha.

oh and as a side-note: I think i spent $15 all night? and that *included* splurging the $10 on valet because i didnt want to walk down wilshire in my penguin slippers and get them all messed up. kickass. haha.

Thank you everyone who put this event together and super huge thanks to Christina for letting me come party with the cool kids in LA. much love my yelp bitches. ;)

Best Yelp event I have been to so far!  My PNC (patna 'n crime) and I had a great time.

Katie, Christina, Hazel, etc all did an excellent job in putting this together.  The music was good, the food was delicious, and the drinks were free...I could not have asked for more!

It was great to see all of my Yelp friends, and it was even greater to meet new ones!

Can't wait for the next event!

Awesome, with a capital A indeed.

Katie B., Christina Y., Hazel Q., all the Caterers, Entertainment and staff of El Rey did a spectacular job putting it together. From one-sies, two-sies, to full blown PJ costumes, it brought me back vivid memories of 1989 and rocking onesie was highly acceptable for me at the time.

My highlights? Welp, seeing anyone and everyone in LA that I don't usually see at all. Also, seeing my usual familiar Yelper homies. Lime salted Grasshoppers were missing a tequila shot to go along with it. For the first time, eating tamales in a long while, it was actually pretty tasty. Red Velvet Cheesecake, gimme more please. Like any Yelp event, how could you not be a voluntary lush with all those drinks offered by Vev. The Brazilian Mule, could have made anyone a jackass tonight, with enough of those drinks in your system.

Lastly, who could forget the awesome Yelp dancers. So much talent in one room... all I know is... it was a set up... I knew it was the moment the dance floor cleared, haha. Instead of double fisting drinks all night like Marlon E., I ended up having to sweep the floor with my body language (literally speaking). Kudos to the friendly competitor, he kept up those windmills like an 80s Don Quixote.

Good times indeed, thanks Yelp LA CMS for making it quite a kickass party. Now time to top it all off, with Yelp OC's interpretation of a holiday celebration. Hopefully I'll have better luck with acquiring some Yelp Swag. Cheers!

Pajamas and fuzzy slippers instead of spike heels and skin-tight dresses? YES PLEASE!

I put on my favorite pair of pajama pants (printed with turtles wearing santa hats) and brought along a beautiful date and fellow yelper, CC, who rocked her onesie (it matched Katie B's!)  with chucks.

It was our first time inside the El Rey Theater - gorgeous venue! Very chandelier-y and super sexy.

We at mole and crickets from Guelaguetza, bacon tator tots from Libertine, and banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery, all of which were the http://bomb.com.

The photobooth was fabulous fun with cute props and it was fun people-watching. I loved the guy who dressed up as Max from Where The Wild Things Are and all the onesies. I suspect I may have developed a onesie fetish overnight.

Amazing job Yelp crew, we had a blast!!

To tell you the truth, I've never been to a pajama party.  So all I can say is that this is the best pajama party I've ever been to!  Although, I can also say this could be the worst!

The El Rey Theatre was actually a pretty big place.  It held a lot of people.  And, parking was pretty easy to find.  I also like that it was indoors, so you weren't freezing your butt off in your onesies.

Of course, there were guys who showed up in suits, and a girl who showed up in a cocktail dress?!? I guess they sleep in their suits.

Anyway, the music was good.  Had fun dancing with Valerie F and Valerie D.  Even got to watch Mr. Ryan M. doing his b-boy thing or whatever it's called.

The desserts from Magnolia Bakery were good.  I only got to try their banana pudding and the red velvet cheesecake.

Awesome Event.  Thank you to Christina Y and Katie B!

I'm eating my leftover tamales and it occurred to me that I still need to write my review.  Thanks to the nice lady from Guelaguetza that hooked me up at the end of the night with a big ass plate.

Although I was @ the Newegg booth most of the night, I got to see a lot of new and old Yelpers that I fancy so much.  You know who you are.  =P

To all the people from Yelp that made this party happen, you kept the good food, drinks, and music flowing all night!!!

That's 5 Stars in my book!

This venue was great to have an event at. It's been at least a year since I've been to an Elite event.  Thanks to Val for letting me be her +1.  I  had to put out later that nite but it was all good. That's just how i roll..I'm very appreciative and generous!

Even though it had high ceilings, Erin and I were lamenting the fact that it was still hot as hell in there. And it's not cuz I'm one of the the tallest in the bunch and the heat was coalescing around my head.  It was just warm with all the bodies in there.  Not a bad thing, just an observation.

Loved seeing some old school Yelpers I hadn't seen in a while-  Alvin, William, Michelle, Annette, Jerry etc as well as some newbies-- Erin, Eduardo, Chel, Michael (F, M, C), Valerie(D & F) and Jessica.

Special shout out to the guy in the red silk robe with the chia pet of chest hair sticking out.  It was fun talking to you, but i was seriously not trying to look at the chest hair!  eFF you for challenging my masculinity Adam!! eFF you 1000 times!  haha

And Michael as well.. red robe wearing MoFo showing his legs to the cluster of women around him when i first walked in!    Images I need to erase off my mental hard drive. Thx again Mike!!

The DJ played a great mix of 80's/90's  music and regardless of what Andrius may say... I can get my groove on even with a bum knee!! so there!  .

The food I tried was great- .  I enjoyed the bacon wrapped tater tots and even the banana pudding that Annette directed me to.  I'm not a big fan of sweets, but the pudding from Magnolia was great!
    Thanks again Yelp

'Twas the night before Yelpmas, and all through the house... ALL THE YELPERS WERE STIRRING, FORGET THE MOUSE!

2010 is about to be under wraps (pun intended) and what better way to celebrate the holidays than with our fellow Yelpers? Even better: a Yelpmas party where we don onesies, winter flannels, Santa hats, and in my case: garland around my neck.

The El Rey is one of my favorite LA venues and was an excellent backdrop to our Christmas party haven with ample space and festive red and green chandeliers. Of course the photobooth was the hit of the night (how come we are SO obsessed with Yelp photobooths at events?!) and they were kind enough to allow one Yelper to take multiple photos and never hurry you along. Plus, they were good with printing out the photos you wanted extra copies of.

The layout was well-planned with food/cookie tables and activities well spread out so that we could maneuver from one to another while having dancing and mingling room. Carrying my free drinks to other activities was never a problem. Especially cute was the ornament-making activity upstairs which gave me the idea to make ornaments at home this year. (Thanks Christina and Katie for the idea that I am stealing!).

Although I prefer CMYE's (I like the intimacy) over larger Yelp LA events, the holiday cheer and Yelp love was plentiful and abundant and a great way to spend some of the busy Holiday season with our Yelp family. I'm not listing all my buddies like everyone else always does because that is redundant and you know who you are!

Happy Yuletide Greetings my Yelp loves!

I'm always super grateful for the events that Christina Y. and Katie B. throw; I know they're out there working hard so we can have a good old time!

With that being said, I wasn't in love with this event.  (Cue the boos now, I'm sure). While the food was good (OMFG Bacon Wrapped Tots!!!), the music was fun and nostalgic, and fellow Yelpers are always a good time, I felt that the set up of the place caused a serious lack of flow, there weren't very many places to try to eat your food/drink your drinks etc. (other than upstairs), and I was disappointed in the photo and drink situation.  The drinks were weak, limited in option, and the Veev (which is not a vodka, no matter what they call it) ran out, leaving us with one option.  As for the photo booth, the guy was so interested in pushing us along that he took the first pic before we were even on the mark fully and seemed to be super annoyed with his job, with a lil bit of an attitude.

    Maybe I'm just picky.

I still give mad props to Christina Y. and Katie B. and thank them for our holiday celebration.  Everyone looked so adorable in their pjs!

My holiday wish? An Elite event in the Valley; just give me Studio City or Sherman Oaks please.  That way it won't take me an hour and a half to get to every event.  Thanks Yelpy Santa!

    ***Important Update***
Richard, the photographer from the photo booth, sent me a gracious message regarding my comments in the review.  With that kind of customer service, I can totally overlook the one less-than-pleasant experience and be excited to see them at the next event.

My first Yelp elite event and I had a great time. What a perfect way to ease into my first by wearing the most comfortable clothes ever, my PJs.

The music selection was amazing, a lot of old school jams to jam in your jammie jams, 'nam saying?

I don't think I can complain about long lines for food, with free drinks and free food in hand, those lines go by pretty quickly! Food samples, courtesy of Libertine, Guelaguetza, and desserts from Magnolia bakery.

Photo booth photos were festively themed, as you can take pictures with gift-shaped cardboard boxes or large candy canes.

Considering that LA East and LA West gathered in a medium-sized venue, like the El Rey, I was amazed that we weren't packed like sardines.
I loved Libertine's bacon-wrapped tater tots, Magnolia's red velvet cheesecake (red velvet and oreo heaven in my mouth), and the free citrus Yelp lip balm.

YAWN, what an easy transition from party to bed time. I'm already ready for bed! Thanks Christina and Katie :)

I would have given The Night Before Yelpmas at the El Rey five stars, but I burnt the roof of my mouth with those DELICIOUS bacon wrapped tater tots; now I have a bubble burn blister on the roof of my mouth . . .

Awh, but the memory of munching them tater tots made it all worth the bubble burn blister, hehehehehehe.

It's been along time, since something I've put in my mouth has left a lasting impression, [pun intended - impression aka bubble burn blister].
