This is a really great place to grab a quick bite to eat if you're craving Thai. It's usually pretty quiet and not too busy, but you get very quick service. I usually get their pad Thai, which is really good. I'm not a huge fan of super spicy pad thai and they make it nice and mild for me, but don't sacrifice any of the unique flavors that it has. I also love their Eggplant Kee-Mao. It's a really tasty vegetarian dish that I have yet to find on any other Thai restaurant menu that I've been to recently. Usually you have to add eggplant or tofu to various dishes to create this order.
This place is definitely a great little neighborhood restaurant, especially in the quiet downtown Los Altos.

This is one of my favorite places to eat for lunch! It's not the best Thai every, but he food is yummy, very well portioned, affordable, and best of all, they have a lot of veggie options. You have to look at the dinner menu to see them (the page is labeled "a matter of vegetarian"), but they will substitute a veggie dish for a lunch price. Also, it is almost never crowded at lunch so it's easy to get a table.
Try it, I think you'll like it!
Pretty non descript Thai food. It's not bad, just not great.
Have only had take-out. Flavors not out of balance, but not jumping out at you good, either.

Wandering in Los Altos after a loooooong cycling ride, we pondered "Italian or Thai?" Well, Thai won out and we were glad! Fresh, not overly-sauced, beautifully presented and best of all ~ delicious food! Friendly servers, atmosphere, ambience...we are definitely coming back....and bringing friends!
Bon Apetite!
This little place puts out a mean pad thai. It's not like, san francisco good but it's good nonetheless. When you're really hungry and you can't figure out where to go in Los Altos this is probably your best bet.

The soup that goes with the lunch special had some black pepper spiciness to it, but the vegetables were very very mushy, without much flavor.
I had Pad See Ew which just seemed to lack any seasoning or distinct flavor. Bland is the overwhelming impression.
Otherwise, service was fine. Some of my coworkers complained about smallish portion sizes. Prices are fair, and the space is relatively uncrowded at lunchtime.

We went for lunch, and the place was redolent with flies, the food was marginal and the service was grumpy.
Not going back, even though I was SO EXCITED to have Thai in Los Altos finally!!
The lunch menu has only meat options, but they have no problem substituting tofu. I thought about lowering my rating because of this issue. Why can't it say Chicken/Beef/Pork/Tofu?
The food was good, the service was a little too quick - I want to finish my soup first.
I would go again.
I walked into this restaurant the first time by mistake, but it was certainly a serendipitous one. It USED to be an Italian restaurant, but thank all the lucky stars it's now "A Matter of Thai."
There are really only two ways to describe food: "Yum" or "Yuck." This place definitely gets a "Yum." I am vegetarian, so I always go for the Veggie Pad Thai and ask for a side of lime juice (because it doesn't come with the dish). Then, I always have the sticky rice with mangoes, which is always "yum" because the mangoes are always ripe. The service can be a bit indifferent, but don't let that stop you from experiencing this little gem.

Leading the charge in reviving the downtown Los Altos State street scene... Great, authentic Thai food -- and they'll dish it out as spicy as you ask for (a spicy papaya salad appetizer will leave you wimpering for more iced tea). Also some interesting fusion plates (the Mango Tango chicken is a treat). The restaurant also features a full bar. The interior decorations are simple and sparing. Usually quiet, but can go from tranquil to packed in less than 10 minutes once all us suburbanites get home from work.
