    Awesome place.

Went here with my fiancee. She enjoyed the silly hats.

I enjoyed the Grilled Crab Meat sandwich they had. It was juicy and the crab pieces were nice big chunks.

I LOVE tea and was really excited when my good friend and Folsom resident invited us out to tea at the Maad Tea Party.

The place is really cute, with the decor being somewhere in between Samovar and Lovejoy's in San Francisco.  Loved the dainty mismatched teacups, their a full lunch menu, and the variety of teas which include herbal, green, and even white.

Prices were cheaper than I expected (a pot of tea and two scones for $6.50!), but this did come at a price.  For one, they don't use loose tea leaves!  Just regular old tea bags which they brew for you, then remove from the pot.  No refills obviously, but more importantly, the quality of the tea was completely lacking.

Most of the lunch items we ordered was pretty basic stuff- sandwiches, soups, and salads, which were decent.  Our waitress completely forgot about the four scones we'd ordered and after a reminder she brought them to us at the very end of the meal.  I loved the clotted cream, but the scones themselves had the distinct taste of baking soda.  Not good at all- maybe it was just an off day.

Still, it was a fun afternoon with my bestest girl friends and for that I left happy.   If there were a few changes made (namely their tea), I could see myself coming back on my next visit to Folsom.

All the stars for the scones...

I was on the way back from Lake Tahoe with mygirlfriend and friends, and they insisted that we should stop by this tea party cafe in a very unique business area.

Tea??? Scones????Tea Party Cafe??? After a long day of high-octane and butt killing sports, here we are heading for some tea and scones party cafe over at El Dorado Hills.

    Maad Tea Party Cafe..

It's a real foofy type tea cafe which is great place not only to have breakfast or lunch or just a cup of tea with your beloved, families and even in-law.

Order the SCONES.. It practically melts in your mouth like 100% butter cookies. I shared an order of scones with my girlfriend.. buttery.. melts in your mouth and magnificent...

I ordered one of the breakfast scramble. I think it was the El Dorado Scramble.. 2 Toast bread with buttery spread.. seasoned potatoes.. (a big yummy) and the scramble eggs ... Such a large portion...you could share it with someone else.

All i have to say is compliment to the chef...

The most fun thing is you can see "guys".. drinking tea with their pinky pointing outward in a small porcelain cup. Very English ... :P Tea was great too

anyway it's a place that you should go... even if you are a manly man..lol  :)

Love this cafe. The food is always delicious. The tea is warm and inviting. It's a fantastic place to take kids too. Mine love having tea in the adorable tea cups and saucers. This little place is a gem.

Fans of their tea sandwiches, cakes, scones... monte cristo sandwich... oh their soups are fantastic.

A place to feel girly again.

Good Menu selection and excellent tea!

I love this place.  The menu is pretty great.  I love the crab sandwich.

I came here with my mom. They have interesting hats you can wear while you are enjoying your tea.  The scones are fresh and tasty. Not too dry.  I like the truffles and desserts too.

Plan to spend a few hours here.  It's so relaxing!

Considering the name, the decor and the theme of the restaurant I expected the experience to be a memorable one. But definitely the restaurant was a letdown.

K and I were extremely hungry and definitely if the food was decent we would have rated it as excellent. Being vegetarians we did not have lots of options. So we ordered the Vegetarian Sandwich in the menu with Avacados, lettuce etc. I am a big fan of the Vegetarian sandwich of Le Boulanger. And this one was OK. The sandwich came with salads as accompaniments. They were also quite ok.

I ordered a pot of herbal tea for myself. I felt the tea lacked the much needed zing. I am not an expert of herbal teas but I have had them before and it refreshes you up like no other drink can. I missed that here.
Dessert - This was the big disappointment. We decided to go for the sampler for $6.99. The menu said we would offered four of the available desserts. You would think since it was $6.99 the portions will be decent. But they were truly bite-size.  I guess they took the "sample" word quite literally. I love desserts and I can be easily pleased. But none of the four desserts were impressive. In fact both K and I liked only the chocolate cake like dessert.

And considering the portions and the restaurant ambience etc. it was definitely pricey.  We were charged $30 + the tip.
