At a dinner party last night, and dessert came out... looked good, not spectacular, as it appeared to be ice cream + amaretto. However... it was beyond that. The ice cream (later to find out it was gelato) was amazing. The best vanilla I have ever had.
Who knew!
Nothing beats A Lot A Gelato! There is something different, pure and gastronomic about their gelato over any other gelato/sorbet/ice cream.
A must try. -

It's a tiny storefront in a small business area-more of a business/warehouse than gelato shop. It looked closed and even trying the door it was locked even though the sign said they were open. Decided to knock and a little Hispanic girl open the door.
Inside was a small office seat up but nobody to greet me. A man was working on scooping ice-cream in another room (warehouse I'm guessing), don't know if he noticed me. I waited for a bit and a Hispanic woman came by. I asked if they sell truffelatos to the public and she said they did. They don't sell by the piece which is what I wanted but they sell 25 in a box for $12.50
The flavors are: chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla. I wanted a mix box but the lady said they don't sell it like that. Maybe if I call the the owner she might do it.
I got the strawberry and really liked it.
From a chowhound's description: "I tried the strawberry one encased in a bittersweet chocolate shell, then I had another, and another . . . they're really good. The filling was more like ice cream than the density of gelato and has bits of fruit embedded with intense flavor."

Omg amazing! Great desserts for bridal shower holiday dinner or baby shower . The peppermint is awesome and so is the dulce de leche

I was at an event and this company had a stand set up. They were serving coffee, hot dogs, sodas and of course, gelato. The gelato was sooo good. Nice and creamy, full of flavor. I had half vanilla bean, and half strawberry. I was talking to the girl behind the counter and asked her if they sold to stores. She said no, only wholesale. So just to make sure it's clear they do events and stuff, it's not like an ice cream parlor. It was amazing, but I don't think I could ever finish off 5 gallons like they sell. I'll definately go and get some of their "truffalatos" like Ann did, though!
