I have been coming to this place for years and I still love it. Great food, good portions, great service, and a cozy atmosphere. I show this place to all my friends and they love it!

Sometimes, I'll come here 2-4 times in one week. I live just down the street and it's so convenient to just drive 2 minutes up the 101 and get some great diner food.
I'm a big fan of excellent diners, and this one is on my top 10 so far. I love the service, the regulars, and the quanitity of food you get. You definitely get what you pay for!
My favorites are: French Toast special (with 3 slices and strawberries on top) with hashbrowns instead of meat for $9.75, Pancake special (a 3 stack) with hashbrowns instead of meat for around $8.75, and the Mushroom Avo Tomato omelette with toast, hashbrowns and cooked Ortega chilies on the side for $9.50.
They open at 6 and close at 2:30, so always enough time for you to get your breakfast fix in before you get your day going.
Oh! And I was almost about to forget the most important part!... Coffee. I love their coffee. Don't know what it is. But I love it. It's the perfect diner cup o' joe that sets me straight in the mornings. And like all diners, it's bottomless. -

We came here for lunch. We watched as they poured a bag of frozen veggies into the pan and a frozen bag of tater tots and french fries into the deep fryer... You're probably better off somewhere else...where they at least attempt to hide the frozen factor. Just a thought.
A better option: Claires on Cedros in Solana Beach. You won't regret it. -

I love this little place. It sits right on 101 in Leucadia and when you walk in it feels truly like a old timey coffee shop (which is something you don't get a lot of around here). The food is very solid, delcious hash browns, fresh avocado, and huge portions. It is VERY reasonably priced and the folks that own it and work there are pleasant and friendly. This is a solid place to put into the breakfast rotation.

Cute diner date with a gal pal on a Sunday. The weather was fine and so we snagged a seat on the curbside, super casual, plastic chairs and the like. Even though they were busy a server came out right away and poured coffee and handed menus. We moved to the next table because they're was too much sun ( white girl problems!) and she didn't miss a beat. We both ordered the eggs benedict, hers with roasted potatoes and mine with hash browns. Both were decent, not amazing, fruit was a little mushy. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the cost was reasonable. Down the street are much longer waits and I was happy...not bad! I peaked inside on our way out...and it looked alot more adorable indoors in the booths, maybe I'll try it again!

GREAT PLACE!!!!!!!
Now, being that the only food allergy I have is avocados, and the fact that they automatically put avocado on the eggs Benedict--and do not put that on the menu--- would make most in my position, automatically take it down a star, right?? Nope....I DO have an open mind and heart :o) Okay, and perhaps if mom hadn't ordered the same thing and saw the avo....it could've had a less happy ending....BUT...
When I told the adorable waitress that I didn't know it had it avocado in there and was allergic to it (and it wasn't on the menu)....she handled it with such grace, such sweetness and poise, and such professional charm...well, you would have to be my ex-boyfriend (AKA Satan's brother) to not forgive her!
So she brings me a brand new plate of the most beautiful, most perfectly cooked eggs Benedict, with just the right amount of absolutely delicious hollandaise sauce--- complete with a nice serving of golden brown, crisp, and perfectly cooked hash browns.............. WOW....did I mention it was perfection? ;o)
I can't remember when the last time was that I ate everything on my plate, but today was one of those times for sure-- and I WILL be back. Everything was just GREAT!!
You don't go there with the expectation of "ambiance," but if you do go expecting to be treated well and having a perfect breakfast, you will not be disappointed!! -

I'm gonna go ahead and give this 5 stars on the basis that my friend, who still looks good in tight chinos, said the hash browns were "perfect."
He hardly ever pays such compliments except in the best of restaurants. On my part, I had some perfect french toast and eggs and though the turkey patty was tasty, it was a little rubbery.
You could never get away with blocking the sidewalk with tables like that in Hillcrest or downtown. Amusingly haphazard.
The waitron was perfunctory but smiley. -

Good place for a hearty breakfast. Coffee is only so so for a place with coffee in the name but sometimes you just need that cup of java.

If I could go out to breakfast every morning I would go to A Little Moore Coffee Shop. I love it. The ambiance reminds me of a coffee shop from the late 60s or early 70s. It's like the coffee shop that your parents went to as kids.
The food here is great and the staff is even better. I love the chili omelette with hash browns. Their hash browns are delicious. The omelette is huge and so yummy. The staff are sweet as can be and make you feel so welcome to be there. In addition, they have non traditional specials like Korean short ribs that make places like this extra special. If you're looking for somewhere to go in the Encinitas area I would recommend A Little Moore Coffee Shop. -

If you came up on this place and it was deserted, like in a dream, you would think it's just a Diner. You would picture the waitress named Flo in the traditional outfit and bonnet similar to a 1950's nurse....
In reality though, this place is never deserted. It's one of the best breakfast joints occupied by the locals of this hippie beach town. Breakfast plates are simple 2 eggs, potatoes, toast and coffee. Perfect meal before you hit the beach for the day.
Leucadia would be lost without "A Little More" -

Wow!!! What a supper comfy place!!! The breakfast is just amazing. Sunni side eggs, with whole wheat toasts, two sausage links and three butter French toasts. American coffee (which I don't like but I need my coffee) is there for you. the portions are medium sized well cooked and flavorful.
My wife had and omelet which was so big enough for her and my son.
The service is great a you can expect from a small place, very fast and very attentive. The place was packed with surfers and families with kids.
A gem, well hidden, highly recommended.
The only reason I put 4 stars is because they didn't have lattes. -

Good basic food items. Breakfast, burgers, and your basic sandwiches.
Had the fish and chips with a salad and fries. they were the thick steak fries. Came with a good salad. BF had the grilled cheese with avo. Quite happy with minimal expectations from their menu.
The service was definitely deserving of 4 stars. -
Review from Zack R.
Sometimes your favorite meal is your very last one. Maybe because it's the freshest thing in your mind. Either way, A Little Moore was the best breakfast I had all week. French toast with sausage and scrambled eggs, all cooked perfectly. Our server, Shiela, was very busy, and was very nice and apologetic for the wait. Outdoor seating made this little Leucadia (Encinitas-ish) diner an even bigger winner. Perfect breakfast.

Review from Myhang H.
I felt like I not only got a great breakfast but was part of a cooking show this morning sitting at the counter with a fantastic view of the chefs and their artistry!
Very good hashbrowns. Sausage links and patties are both delicious. Large strips of bacon. Large pieces of french toast. Fast friendly service. Just wish they had corned beef hash on the menu. There was asian flair to the menu---some teriyaki chicken/beef with eggs for breakfast. I was tempted to get the special on the board---Korean BBQ Short Ribs with fried rice. Yum.
For less than $10 per person, you get a delicious meal. FYI: Breakfast is served all day! -

My favorite breakfast spot!!
Best hash-browns in town, especially if you add cheese, peppers and onions! AMAZING!! I love all the new items they have added to their menu over the past few years, like Eggs Benedict and espresso!! I will always make my way to your counters, a true greasy spoon!
Love you guys!! -

I'm a man's man. I do manly things. I like tractors. When I shower, I wash with Irish Spring. I don't shave regularly. I have a labradoodle.
When I eat breakfast after a hard night of drinking with "the boys" I need something that puts a little moore hair on my chest. I need a Chili Cheese omelet.
Covered in Pico Pica hot sauce and drenchened in ketchup, I let my inner cave man come out, a caveman from Texas.
And those hash browns, so good they can make a grown man cry.Listed in: Leucadia Restaurant Guide

While I was waiting for my dog to get his bath and hair cut at our favorite Dog Groomer, http://www.yelp.com/bi..., I decided to have some breakfast. Now, being from Carlsbad, it's normally pretty hard to find a place to sit outside and have breakfast at 9 in the morning on a Saturday. Not here at the A Little Moore Coffee Shop. I am not sure if because the food wasn't any good, or because it's just not in a great location.
I grabbed myself a North County Times, and the Coast News and had a seat. I ordered your basic 2 eggs over easy, hash browns, ham, and 2 pieces of wheat toast. The cool thing was that they asked me if I wanted butter on my toast. The reason I think this is cool is because I don't like butter and I normally forget to tell my server that I don't want butter.
My food came pretty quick. It was ok. Nothing stood out as being great or bad. Just average. By the time I left at around 10, the place was getting more customers.
So when you are in Leucadia dropping your pet off at my groomer, stop by the place and have some breakfast. -

Big, Bold OMELETS here. Hash browns so crispy, they crunch. Wait staff so accomodating. Especially Sheila.
I love their breakfasts. The outside tables are set under trees and the atmosphere is simply friendly. The place is a well oiled machine. It seems to run on its own generator and even if crowded, you never have to wait.
I don't think I have ever had lunch here. To me, it's just the place to go and be who you are for breakfast in Leucadia. -

I can't lie, i go here to see Amy. She has a great smile and a great attitude. She knows my order and always fills my cup and acts very interested in what is going on in my life. The owners are always very nice to me as well.
Only complaint I have is that they should cook ingredients into the omlets rather than folding them in. They have good pancakes as well and good. Its a great landmark in Leucadia and if you are here, you should check it out. -

A Little Moore Coffee Shop doesn't necessarily give you a little more food, but rather a little more love and happiness. Definitely a place where people come to enjoy life during breakfast and lunch. When it's sunny expect to find all the sidewalk tables full.
It's a modest place with a laid-back ambiance which reminds me of cafes in mountain towns.
The food isn't bad either for typical diner food. -

Good
Cheap
Nice staff
That's really about all you need in a breakfast place/diner kinda place.
Plus I can walk there, which def. counts for something. -
Review from Lianna S.
The best quaint, no-frills breakfast spot in Leucadia. We walked over here the other morning for breakfast and everything was good. The typical breakfast menu consists of omelettes, eggs, pancakes, burritos, etc. I had the eggs benedict with avocado, delicious. Good coffee and service. If you're not in the mood for all the organic/vegetarian spots that dominate north county, (which I happen to enjoy), then come here!

We were down for a getaway weekend, about 9 of us. Staying in Leucadia and recommendations of our "local", we ventured in after a run. We all sat outside in the cool winter air on a nice clear sunny day. We had a bit of trouble getting a waiter at first, since we had sent one ahead to reserve the table and lagged behind about 10 minutes.
We finally placed our orders after lots of decision making and got to just enjoy the setting. We all ordered different things. Two ordered lunch dishes (sandwiches), while the rest ordered breakfast (various egg dishes and a couple of omelettes) . The service was decent. We had to flag them down a few times to get things we needed. The food was good. With the recommendations it got from other friends living locally and our friend with us, I would have thought it was going to be orgasmic. But, it was just good. Too high of expectations I think.
I would not hesitate to come here again on our (hopefully) annual pilgrimage to Leucadia/San Diego, since its close and good. I would love to find that it truly is a 5 star and be able to up the rating. -

Good god this place is great. They make breakfast food that you remember eating when you were a kid, and I mean that in the best way possible. A lot of times you order some food, expect it to taste a certain way, and then it comes and it's good but not like you had expected.
Not at Little Moore. What you order is exactly what you want it to taste like. Usually get an omelette with hash browns, or an order of french toast and bacon. It all tastes fantastic, and is very reasonably priced. Usually two people can eat for under $15 or so :)
Highly recommended! -

This is a great local spot in Leucadia. The waitresses are super friendly and attentive and keep the coffee coming. I get two eggs over easy with hash browns and an english muffin and am a happy camper. Other things on the menu look good and they will always customize your breakfast to what you want. Its one of those places that is homey with good food and down home charm.

Our family has been eating here for the last ten years. My kids have grown up eating there. Why - because we love this place - friendly staff, good portions, good food, and quick service.
If you're really hungry, and want something a little dfferent, try The Pablo - lots of vegetables, and I like beef, over a big plate of steamed rice. -

My dear departed Father loved to hang at the local greasy spoon/coffee shops. So on his memorial my family went here to salute his memory. You have to know going in that it IS A GREASY SPOON so stop expecting to be WOWed. I like it when I don't have any high expectations for a gourmet breakfast. I know I can chill here.

Good basic ingredients cooked as you would expect them to be cooked- what's not to like? I especially like that this place doesn't skimp on the cheese (its melted goodness covers the omelets!). Service is quick and super friendly- geez, I'm getting hungry just thinking about this place....

Cheap excellent breakfast place with seating outside on the sidewalk.
Beware of crazy homeless locals walking around and the crisp cold air in the morning from being so close to the ocean.
The 'lack of latte' comments are outdated as they offer all kinds of coffee drinks now.
Will be going here again and again and again... -

I had the best vanilla latte ever @ Moore's about a month ago. I have since gone back 3 times trying to get it again, but the espresso machine has been "broken." I don't know if the waitress is just lazy & doesn't want to make a latte, or if the COFFEE shop really hasn't had a working espresso machine in weeks. Either way... disappointing. I really wanted to love you, Moore!

I worked at this restaurant for 4 years and I know that everything is a fresh and delicious as it gets! there is no way in hell that the owners of a little moore would ever used can vegetables like the person below thinks. every day I worked, I would be looking forward to order something for myself. Especially after going the whole day looking at plates of delicious food. All my favorite breakfast foods come from a little moore, and their orange juice is the best ever. love the whole staff, I've known them since I was a baby and they genuinely want to give you the best service. It is very packed on sundays and there is a good steady flow of people through out the week. I highly recommend this place over any other breakfast place in north county

You're looking for a good cup of joe and some eggs to go with it? Look no more. This little place not only makes a tastee breakfest, you can take your date and split a plate. Yeppers, the portions are on the larger side and will feed ya both along with a fresh fruit cup. Say hi to Hans or Louis the man behind the grill. You'll walk away saying to yourself, I'm coming back. ENJOY!

Great little breakfast joint. Had an omelet, this thing had more avocado in it than you could believe. Went there with my one year old and the staff was very accommodating. Went on a Tuesday morning no wait quick food. Great choice in Encinitas.
