Things got off to a rocky start with me and David.
My agent had let him in and he had started working when I arrived, 15 minutes late. I said hello and was hoping to get a brief rundown of what the day would hold in store, but David just kept on measuring, monitoring, and silently typing notes into his little computer.
Curious, I asked, "so what have you done so far?" He said he'd checked the home's exterior.
A few minutes later, after he's stuck a little device into an outlet, I asked what he'd discovered. Frustrated, he told me all questions would be answered at the end of the inspection, and that it would take all day if I was going to continue pestering him, basically.
I argued that I was a first-time home buyer eager to learn about my new house, and that I would try not to bug him about every little thing, but that I wanted him to explain in general what he was doing and what he was finding and point out interesting things to me along the way. We went back and forth about the merits of this for a while, wasting precious time, until i finally left the room and got out of his hair.
By the end of the inspection we had found common ground. We were cracking jokes and he was explaining things and it all worked out. He actually apologized because he said he'd had a hard day, had lost all his work due to a computer crash, got stuck in traffic, etc. That's cool.
The inspection report was well-done and delivered the next day. David clearly knows his business. He's just not a real chatty guy, so be prepared for that. He also doesn't have a website, which I found a little odd, but whatever.

I've never written a review before but I felt compelled to do so. If for no other reason than to help out another first-time home-buyer.
We highly recommend calling David for any home inspection. This was our first go around so some of these things many be the norm, but these are the reasons I feel very confident in recommending him:
- He arrived early
- He took his time
- He showed us every issue he discovered and gave us some basics on how to fix it or who to contact to fix it
- He made sure to show us where the main cut-offs and breakers were and included that info in his inspection report.
- He emailed his 29pg report that same night
- He is incredibly knowledgeable - he knew something helpful about EVERYTHING, it seemed.
- He's patient and thorough
While you have to be skeptical of anyone you work with when purchasing a home, we felt we could completely trust him. Almost like having your Dad look under the hood, kick the tires, and then give you a thumbs up on the biggest purchase you've ever made in your life. -

David did a great job inspecting my new home. He is very thorough and personable.
I appreciated his straightforwardness about what to watch out for when getting help with my new home. He also took the time to answer any questions I had. I learned a lot.
I was also impressed by how clear his inspection report was, with helpful photos, and how quickly wrote it out and got it to me (by the following day). -

David did a fantastic job on the inspection of the condo I was looking at. As a shortsale, nothing came easy. David was the one exception in the long arduous process. He is a cool and friendly dude. The inspection report was clear and informative. He is easy to talk to, and will guide you through the inspection process. I highly recommend David's work.

I'm a Home Inspector in San Diego and I went to home inspection school with David in 2004. We have become good friends while building our business together. We use the same tablet computers and very similar software systems. I have performed over 2,000 inspections to date and when I have a question I call David. He is professional, has real world trade experience and is VERY knowledgeable.

David did a fantastic job in the home inspection this afternoon. He showed up before the appointment time. When I arrived, he and the termite crew he refered to me already started the inspection. His inspection was thorough and easy to understand. He paid attention to all the details. He is very friendly and walked me through the issues. He sent the report quickly ( yeah, I already got my report), and the photos and items that needed to be fixed were really helpful.
