Yes! Steve is the man for the job. He is thorough and attentive to detail, and is dedicated to getting carpets clean at a deep level, not just on the surface, so as to improve indoor air quality that dirty musty carpets can compromise. Allergy and asthma sufferers can rejoice! No toxic chemicals or fragrances left behind, just bright and colorful carpets.
As he worked, he explained what happens to dirt when it gets trapped in a carpet and what a multi-step process it is to get all of it out properly. He also educated me about different types of rugs and what kind of maintenance they need for keeping the air clean. He cleaned some rugs onsite, and they were amazingly dry when he finished---he was meticulous about containing the moisture. He took my wool rugs to clean and dry offsite, and he brought them to my doorstep two weeks later looking and smelling pristine. Super friendly, professional and prompt, Steve performs his service with integrity. I'm a very satisfied customer and will use him for regular cleanings. -

Needed office carpets cleaned before a ton of VIP people arrived. Call on a Monday at 8. Steve says he'll be by in an hour or so. Indeed he is. Quickly gives estimate, says he'll have his nephew out later that afternoon to clean them! AND then he tells me that his wife had a baby that morning--like, he came to us from the hospital!! Showed me the pics of his beautiful new baby. Super nice guy, carpets looked great! We're using him again this afternoon at home. Thanks Steve!!

I'm not one to write many reviews, but Steven literally just left our house 2 minutes ago and I had to run and write this one. I HIGHLY recommend him.
We went on vacation and while we were gone, our large dog had massive diarrhea all over our living room carpet. The house sitter did what she could to clean it up, but there was still a horrible mess that had been there for a few days when we returned.
We have a steam vac and tried to clean things ourselves - and probably made things worse. So we called Steven.
In under an hour, not only had he completely removed the stains and smell from the living room, he also cleaned our hallway for the same fee. These 30-year-old carpets look like new. Incredible. And to top it all off, he gave us tons of great cleaning tips and information on how to care for carpets.
It's sad that in this day and age, it's rare to find someone who is friendly, fast and completely knows their trade. Steven is all three. We'd hire him again in a heartbeat. -

Mr. Miller is just excellent. I needed a carpet cleaner service fast. Called a few cleaning service, and most of them, either not available or too expensive. I called miller and he was available and gave me a good price quote. Came in my house the same day. He was thorough, and took time to make sure the carpet was clean. I never had such a good experience with other carpet cleaners. I recommend his services to all. Give him a try, he is good. : ) we will surely use him again.

Steve rocks!!! Extremely nice, knowledgeable, prompt. I could go on and on. Bottom line, my well worn carpet that hasn't been professionally cleaned since I bought my house 8 years ago looks as good as new today. Food stains are gone. Worn areas look like they've never been walked on, the sangria tragedy of 2010 is now just a memory.....
I'm embarrassed that I didn't do this sooner. I called him based on the yelp reviews alone (thanks guys!!!) and for less than $150, my living/dining and entry stairs are spotless. I will be calling him to take care of my upper floor in the spring. Thank you Steve!!!!! -

Based on the excellent Yelp reviews here, I called Steve to see if it was possible to clean our micro-suede, L-shaped couch. A friend's toddler had peed all over one of the cushions, and after contacting several dry-cleaners who all flat-out refused, I wasn't sure where to go. Fortunately, I found Steve!
From the get-go, I was pleased with his knowledge and friendliness. He suggested that we clean the entire couch, not because he wanted to make extra money, but because it would look better in its entirety. He was, however, willing to come over to the house to clean that one cushion, if we preferred. But we opted to clean the whole couch, and he gave us a reasonable quote.
When Steve arrived to our house, he immediately spotted the Chinook coupon book I had lying on my desk, next to the couch. "You can save even more money," he said, "if you use my coupon that's inside that book." (Okay--that right there--is awesome service! I can't remember now, but it was something like 10% or 15% off. He could have pretended not to see it, but that's not what he did.)
It took several hours, but after Steve was finished cleaning the couch, both my husband and I were floored: It was like BRAND NEW! Before Steve had arrived, there were stains all over that light-blue couch. I mean, blood stains from the time a friend accidentally leaked while watching a movie. Poop and pee stains from my son when he was potty-training, not to mention all the ones gotten from his many toddler friends. Ketchup, jelly, and the whole gamut of food-related stains! Mind you, I did try to clean out all these stains on my own. With soap and water, baby wipes. But all that left hideous watermarks on the surface of the couch. Anyhow, let me reiterate: After Steve was finished with the couch, it looked A-MA-ZING! Stains completely eliminated!
I am so HAPPY to have found Steve. We will definitely use his services again. Highly, highly recommended! -

As a professional organizer specializing in moving, I've used Steve to clean my client's carpets on move outs. Steve has been reliable and conscientious. My clients have always been happy.
I finally called Steve for my own carpets and he was able to squeeze me in just before a holiday. I was stunned at how dirty my carpets were and how quickly and thoroughly he got them to look like new! I really like that he doesn't use toxic chemicals that the carpet dried overnight, had no odor, and is soft enough to walk comfortably barefoot on now.
I will be calling Steve regularly for my carpets and continue to use his service for my clients. -

Hands down: THE BEST.
Over the past 15 years, I've had half a dozen dogs & a couple of cats. Being a clean freak, I have therefore had my carpets cleaned at least 4 times per year by both the big guys (you know who I mean) and mom & pop shops.
NEVER have I had a better job done! This guy KNOWS HIS STUFF, is PROFESSIONAL & HONEST. If you are lucky enough to live anywhere in his area, Steve is the only option to get a fresh, healthy clean for your carpets.
He has a customer for life. -

Steven was prompt, friendly, informative and really good! He got all the cat puke stains out of our carpet and made our white berber look brand new. He moves furniture to get underneath and doesn't just go around like other cleaners we'e hired. I'll definitely be calling him again to maintain this like new look.

I picked A Healthier Clean based on the positive reviews. I'm glad I chose them. Steve was great! He did a great job on our carpet. He took time in cleaning. He's not like other companies that come and rush the job. He even got the stains that I thought were not going to come off. He gave me tips on how to maintain the carpet and how to get stains out without using chemicals. I agree with the other review...definitely worth every penny.
I will definitely use A Healthier Clean and will recommend Steve to my family and friends. -

Prompt, professional, courteous, efficient and knowledgeable.
Called him in to clean my small area rug. In and out in a half hour, no mess, no fuss. He even offered a helpful hint to clean up the mass amounts of dog hair that accumulates on my couches.

Well, I am impressed. I asked Steven to come out and treat my fabric on my new furniture. First of all, he came over after hours to accommodate my schedule. I was 10 minutes late, but he politely waited for me.
When he came in, he took off his shoes (how nice!) and then asked very good questions about my fabrics. After pre-testing the fabrics, he told me he thought that the treatment could potentially damage them, and that he recommended that I not do it. When I asked him what the charge for the visit would be, he said no charge. :-)
Very honest and trustworthy, I highly recommend using A Healthier Clean and contacting Steven. -

I am so grateful for Steve and A Healthier Clean!
He came and did our house today. We called because of a coupon in the Eco-Metro book, and he said he doesn't use chemicals, just steam.
WELL.
Our carpets look brand spanking new! I watched as he cleaned, and was just amazed. They look terrific!
But really, anyone can scrub a carpet, right? WRONG. Steve explained that he's been in the biz for years and how some companies do short cuts, then demonstrated for me how he doesn't do short cuts. He uses a natural detergent to bring the soil up from the carpet and break it up, then the steam sanitizes and kills germs! Then his super power vacuum sucks it all away, leaving sparkly clean carpets.
He even suggested an odor neutralizer for cat odors that he swears works- I ordered some before he'd even left our house, and it was a third the price of Nature's Miracle. Hooray! I'll let you know how it works, though who knows when the next opportunity I'll have will be! The old cat stains are gone!
Three cheers for A Healthier Clean! We are sold and will be calling every year! -

I wish I had more things for Steven to clean in our house. He came to do an estimate and explained to me his products, machinery, and methods. We scheduled the work, and he was here the next week, on time, and got everything done neatly and efficiently. I had asked him to seal our grout, but he told me that, based on how easily it cleaned up, it was clear it didn't need to be resealed yet. Our grout looked like new, our couch was clean and practically dry when he left, and we ended up paying less than we expected. It was great knowing we didn't have to worry about our toddler coming into contact with anything toxic. On top of all that, Steven's just a nice guy to have in your house. Our kid even keeps talking about him!

Courteous, professional and prompt service. I like the end result - and that's what matters. Steve promptly returned my phone call and gave me a price estimate. He called the day before to confirm the appointment. When the door bell rang, I was expecting to see Steve at the door. But it turned out to be his nephew; and he also did a great job. I just had my dining room carpet cleaned by Steve. I am astounded at how clean he was able to get my utterly filthy carpet. Steve arrived on time and ready to get started. I was ready to have the carpet replaced but decided to have it cleaned for the moment. Steve got my carpet so clean that I won't have to have it replaced.

This is the most AMAZING carpet cleaner ever!!!! We were moving into an apartment that looked like a crime scene. Steve reported that it was one of the five worst he's seen in 13 years. We have Steven come out once a year & I will never consider using anyone else. He always restores our white carpets to their original state - getting out all stains every time. He is also reasonably priced and a good guy. I also am a health-nut and appreciate his commitment to using non-toxic pre-cleaners and water to clean carpets. He also cleans upholstery!

Steven Miller is the owner/ operator of this OUTSTANDING Carpet & Upholstery cleaning business. He works out of his truck and I feel it's rare in this day & age to find a small businessman of Steven's caliber.
He's very dedicated to his work because he explained some very interesting facts about regular cleansing of carpets. When he says "A Healthier Clean" he isn't kidding. He's an extremely courteous gentleman and he gets the job done in AMAZING fashion.
We find ourselves in an apartment with white (WHITE?!?!) carpet and two kids... After the kids have run the carpet to dingy Grey we call Steven (we've used his services twice now) and he returns them to the white they should be...
So again, really courteous, knows his biz, does phenomenal work AND his prices are generously reasonable. You'll thank me if you choose Steven & A Healthier Clean. -

Steven was amazing! I called late afternoon looking for a quote and a possible appointment. Not only did he give me a great price, he was able to come out that evening.
He was fast and left the carpet in our basement playroom looking brand new. He was able to get out crayon, playdough and red wine stains. Unlike other people I have used in the past, the carpets were dry the next morning, fragrance free and wonderfully soft. I have already recommended A Healthier Clean to a neighbor and will be calling Steven again and again to take care of our carpet. -

I can not express enough how impressed I am with Steve. What a man of integrity! After spending all night moving into our new home, he came over to our place very early in the morning to clean our mattress. Since it was a tempurpedic, Steve explained all I had to do was remove the cover and wash in the machine. He explained there was no need for him to charge me or perform the service. Steve did not charge a penny for his time either!. I feel awful for being so out of it in the morning or I would of insisted.
If you want an honest, punctual person, call Steve. I will never go to anyone other than him again for carpet/upholstry cleaning! Thank y ou Steve! -

Steve went the extra mile for us in more ways than one. Kind and courteous, he came to my 74-year-old father's house to help rid the place of a "mystery" smell. He's a smart, solid guy who went beyond the call of duty to help us out. The "mystery" smell was solved, thank God!
He arrived promptly before 8 a.m. to my dad's house in the East Bay and his rate was very reasonable.

I met Steve for the first time today. We just moved to the Berkeley area and I figured since I was cleaning everything in our new place from top to bottom that I would also include the couch. We have a dog and we haven't had the couch cleaned ever (it's 3 years old).
I saw how great Steve's reviews were on Yelp and decided to try his services. I'm glad I did! He was very quick to call me back, after having left him a voicemail inquiring about his services. Steve gave me an estimate over the phone and stuck to it once he arrived. He was even able to give me an appointment the following day!
He was extremely prompt in his appointment time, which I sincerely appreciated. He first started with vacuuming the couch and he showed me how much dust was coming out of it. After the steam cleaning step, I could feel AND smell how clean the couch was. He even explained to me about my particular couch's fabric, how it was delicate, and he gave me extra tips on how to keep my couch fresh after his cleaning. He even vacuumed the rug underneath the couch as a bonus!
Finally, I called 2 other highly recommended upholstery cleaning services on Yelp and they were BOTH more expensive than Steve! I didn't get that gimmicky or pushy salesman feeling from him either. I felt he was an honest, fair businessman and I would definitely recommend him and use his services again in the future. -

Before the in-laws get here in May, we are having Steve get the tiles in our kitchen and hallway back to their formerly glossy state.

Great value, friendly service, quick drying and excellent cleaning results! Also, no smell or chemical odor, which I appreciated. Steve was personable and pleasant, prompt too, and taught me a number of useful things about carpets, for example what types are best to buy, how to keep them clean, etc. I will definitely choose A Healthier Clean again!

Steve's great. I'm always a little confused about what house cleaning products are safe and which aren't - there was no confusion with Steve because he only uses steam and a mild detergent. He's super thorough, timely, and courteous. His prices, while not cheap, are very reasonable and fair. I will never go through a big carpet cleaning company again.

I originally called Steve to get an estimate as I was shopping around. He gave me a single price for the whole job - three area rugs . I called a couple of other places, one of which would not give me an estimate over the phone, and another that charged for pick up and drop off. Although the latter was slightly less than A Healthier Clean, I chose to go with Steve because of his straightforward pricing over the phone. He also suggested that I check out yelp. The reviews were great.
Steven always called the morning of pick up and drop off to confirm our appointment time. He gave me a clearly written receipt and asked me about how I care for my rugs and floors. He also gave me really useful information to make them last longer too.
The cleaned rugs looked fantastic. I couldn't believe how vibrant the colors were in our living room rug, I hadn't seen them in a very long time. The way he cleans carpets is incredibly important to our family as we have two small children.
The only little thing I would change is that the rugs were gone longer than I would hope (10 days), and Steven being a one-man show, took a little while to put the rugs exactly back into place where I wanted them. To his credit, I'm pretty picky about placement and he was very accommodating. I'll definitely use his services again. -

We finally completed a year-long bathroom addition, and after the construction was over, our furniture and rugs were musty/dusty, and in dire need of a deep cleaning. Truth be told, we hadn't had our upholstered furniture cleaned in 10+ years. These folks were really great - polite, prompt, extremely hard-working, and they really did a super job of cleaning our furniture and rugs. Highly recommended, and we would definitely use them again!

I am used to carpet cleaners coming in, running their shampooers over the carpets as quick as they can, and then leaving with my carpets dripping wet. Companies that shall remain nameless (but rhymes with Manly Reamer) will do a great job if you pay them extra to give a crap.
I used A Healthier Clean this last weekend to steam clean carpets in my old place. I must say I have never used a carpet cleaner as thorough or as knowledgeable as Steve. He's spent 12 years in the business and the dude is passionate about his craft. He also takes the time (extra time in the case of my place) to do it right. He knows the science behind dirt and the methods for safely removing it.
I can say from shopping around that Steve had THE best prices and from experience I can say he definitely had the best quality. He even got the job done for 30% less than what he quoted over the phone. My carpets looked new when he got done. I will definitely be using Steve again in my new place.
Once again Yelp finds me a gem! -

Steve did a great job cleaning our carpets. They look fantastic (despite the messes my two year old and one year old have made on them). The price was less than quoted. Steve was friendly and helpful and I appreciated the advice and info he gave about carpet cleaning. Felt completely comfortable leaving him in my home alone while he worked- he was very professional.

I hired Steven to clean a friend's carpets and upholstery. He did an excellent, thorough job. He was extremely courteous and professional, and the carpets looked like new when he finished. The couches had been in extreme need of help, and he stayed longer than he'd initially estimated to make sure the job got done right. Knowing he uses environmentally friendly products to get such a sparkle only makes me happier. Excellent service at a reasonable price.

I bought couches off of craigslist that smelled like dog. Steve came in, cleaned every inch of the couches and the smell is gone. He showed me after care and what to do in case I ever spilled anything on the couch. I am a single woman who lives alone and I felt totally comfortable having him in my apartment working while I went on errands and took care of other business in the house. I am really pleased with his service and would recommend him to anyone.

I came to Yelp to find a carpet cleaner after our dog brought in an awful skunk smell which seemed to linger in the hallway carpet and on the stairs long after we got the smell out of the dog. By the time Stephen came to clean the hallway and the 2 flights of carpeted stairs the smell was pretty much gone. These areas are some of the dirtiest in our house so we thought we should just go ahead and get them cleaned. We have our carpets cleaned once a year with another carpet cleaning service which we have been mostly happy with. But there were a couple of places on the stairs edges which had off-color stains which that company couldn't seem to get out even after they came back several times just to work on those areas. Stephen saw the stains and knew exactly what the problem was - excess soap left by the other carpet cleaners!! We now have CLEAN STAIRS. Stephen knows his business. We will be using him for our yearly cleaning from now on.

I hired Steve to clean my couch. I was impressed with how extremely knowledgeable he was about carpet and upholstery cleaning. He came on time and worked efficiently. He said that as soon as he saw my couch, he knew what type of fabric he was dealing with (it needed an oil based solvent, not water! which would have ruined the color of the fabric) He also gave me a great quote for carpet cleaning and I definitely having him come back for that!
