Love their breakfast burritos, bagels and iced coffee! Great prices. Friendly staff.

Tip: if you're in a rush - call you order in.

i came here for breakfast, and was surprised at how many patrons were here at 10am on a weekday morning.  figured the breakfast must be good if there were that many people.

    i ordered:
*ashley omelet: egg whites, avocado, onions, mushrooms, swiss cheese.  this was pretty big with fresh vegetables and definitely very filling.  i would have preferred the cheese to be on the inside of the omelet, instead of on top.
*2 sides (came with omelet): fruit cup - typical sliced fruit in a small cup. wheat toast - i asked for dry wheat toast, which commonly means no butter/oil, but they brought me buttered toast anyway.  perhaps a misunderstanding.
*cup of hot tea: your ordinary cup of hot water, add a tea bag
total: $13.00 including tax & tip

the interior is small-medium sized.  my table could have been a little cleaner, the top just felt a little sticky.

even though i saw only 2 waitresses, service was fairly prompt.  note that you have to pay at the cashier, and sometimes there's a line of folks also waiting to pay their bill.  i did appreciate the fact that i was in and out in roughly 30 minutes.

05/12/12: Ate here again with my girlfriend and two good friends.  After all the raving I did about this place, I convinced them to give it a shot.  The food was great, but unfortunately took over 45 minutes after sitting to arrive; however, the waitress explained there was only one cook with 20 tickets to serve.  They made it a point to come back and make sure our drinks weren't empty (water, coffee, tea).  I ordered the breakfast sampler for around $12.00 which comes with unlimited coffee, eggs, ham, sausage, bacon, corned beef, and an English muffin.  I would still come back because of the quality and freshness of the food, but only if I had the extra time.  I had to lower it one star time for the lengthy service.

I ate here 05/05/12 Saturday with my old buddy prior to heading to the Sunnyvale Rod & Gun Club.  Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a shot.  I had the Los Altos Scramble - egg whites, Canadian bacon, and avocado priced at around 8 bucks.  The eggs were fluffy and avocado was fresh.  Canadian bacon was good, not too salty.  The dish also came with egg muffin (choice of toast).  I'd definitely come back the next time I head to the range.

Love this little breakfast diner, but the wait is awfully slow. The time's that I've been there, they seem to have enough staff to wait the tables, but the service is always slow. We never get our utensils after we sit or get offered any drinks right away.

What I love about A Good Morning is their variety of breakfast combos. They even have one with egg, meat, and pancakes. Sometimes you want both meat and something sweet and A Good Morning has just the right combo for you.

I've been coming here since they first opened.  In a way I feel like I gave birth to this place.  At least between my friends and I.

Years ago when I was still going to school and had the time to enjoy breakfast during the week this was the spot for my friends and I.  I must've eaten here 2-3 times a week for a semester or two.  =)

A Good Morning is a fairly small restaurant that serves solid breakfast and lunch items.  Unlike other breakfast joints, they up the meat quantity to four, not your measly two slices.  You can even substitute the order of  toast for french toast if you ask nicely.

Although as of late I feel like the portions have shrank a bit, but that's ok with me.  They are still large enough to fill me up and I leave with a smile every time.

After the remodel the space really opened up to accommodate the predicted crowd that soon formed here.

The staff here are absolutely the best.  I even run into them quite often at other restaurants in the area.

    _+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+

    My choices:

    - All American Breakfast
              - 4 bacon
              - 2 eggs over easy
              - Hash
              - Sourdough toast or one slice of French Toast

    - Bacon Avocado Omelet

    - TBA w/ Fries
             - Turkey, Bacon, Avocado on Sourdough

    _+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+

If you are in the Los Altos/ Mountain View area it's definitely worth stopping by for a solid Breakfast, Brunch or Lunch

    Enjoy~!

I was not impressed with this place at all. Being in the heart of Los Altos, right on the corner of El Camino and San Antonio, I guess I expected too much. I ordered a breakfast burrito but only wanted egg, cheese, avocado and chicken apple sausage. I would have been ok with it if they had used actual shredded cheese, but no, I am 99% positive that they just threw some kraft singles in there. EWW. It ruined my whole burrito. Maybe some people like the taste of fake cheese but I highly recommend asking for actual cheddar cheese (if they even have that).

If you are looking for some decent hangover food, this is the probably not a bad choice for you. I on the other hand appreciate a good solid meal with somewhat fresh ingredients, so i will not be a returning customer. Walking inside, I felt like everyone in there had never seen a young face come through the doors, so it's pretty obvious its more of a comfort food spot.

This is my regular weekend breakfast and brunch place, and I sometimes go for lunch too. Just come in, sit down (inside or out), order anything, and enjoy.

Highlights: Fresh orange juice squeezed right there. Good menu selection - from regular eggs and bacon (I normally get the #1), eggs benedict (try the turkey benedict), breakfast burritos, pancakes or waffles, fantastic biscuits and gravy, and a good assortment of lunchtime sandwiches and burgers. You can also get the quick treats, bagels, muffins - and anything else you want to go. They also have a range of coffee and blended drinks - nothing better than a blended mocha and sitting outside on a summer day (WiFi available too).

This is a family run business, and they take good care of you. The busiest times are the weekend mornings, but even with a full house, there are enough tables that your turn will come in usually less than 10 minutes. We sit outside, or in the window while waiting - and you can grab a coffee in the meantime.

Overall, highly recommended for local and daily breakfast, lunch and snacks.

The husband and I tried this place after walking past it to eat pho a few Sundays ago. We're always on the look out for a good brunch spot. And I am always on the look out for a quaint non-chain joint. I'm pretty sure A Good Morning is not a chain, which appeals to me quite a bit.

Ever since my pregnancy, I can't stand the taste of egg benedicts (those used to be my favorite breakfast food). So was I disappointed? Definitely! I tried maybe 2-3 different brunch spots and always tasted something sour in my benedict. There were great reviews for the benedicts here, but I was hesitant till my husband said he'll eat it for me if I didn't like it. Guess what?! I'm a believer now! My love for benedicts is back!

I used to make my own orange juice, but having a baby changes all this. There were great reviews about their o.j. so I ordered a small. I wasn't that impressed since 1) the oranges were not cold and 2) it was kinda sour. I think drinking sour fresh squeezed o.j. has inspired me to go to Milk Pail and buy my own oranges to make sweet fresh squeezed o.j. to my liking now.

Overall, the prices are pretty decent for breakfast food, service is okay, and the food was pretty great! Will I be back for more breakfast later on? You betcha!

After eating at enough brunch places around here, PA, and SF, I'd say this is my go to place for a decent indulgent breakfast. I like this place better than Country Gourmet when I want a no-fuss American breakfast. The pancakes, hash browns, and sides are pretty solid but the egg dishes sometimes have too much oil and too much cheese so be careful. The place is usually packed on the weekends but turnover time is about 10-15 minutes so it's worth lingering around and waiting. The fresh-squeezed OJ is bomb, the bottomless coffee is....aite. They could improve a bit on faster service but if you have the time to sit down for brunch, you're clearly not in a hurry anyway.

Food was very good, well prepared, and served quickly. They have an amazingly large selection of choices for such a small place. My husband had the corned beef hash and said it was excellent. It was so large he only ate half. I had the smoked salmon on a toasted bagel with everything on it. It was perfectly done.

We visited on a Tuesday around 9 am and the place was about 60% full of what looked like regular visitors. We will certainly be back and will schedule small 2-4 person breakfast business meetings.

Decent little diner spot, only a few blocks from the Courtyard Marriott. Saturday morning I only had 30 minutes for breakfast before a work function, but I knew from last year that the hotel restaurant wasn't a tasty option. But it was Saturday morning, so "A Good Morning" was packed. However, they had a sign advertising bagel sandwiches. I asked how quickly they could make a "take out" order. The woman at the counter assured me under 10 minutes. I got to choose sausage or ham (went with ham) and my type of cheese (asked for cheddar). Only 4 minutes later I was presented with a warm and tasty egg, ham, and cheese bagel sandwich. Thanks! The only negative? The "cheddar" cheese was a Kraft single...or some type of pretend "American" cheese, that melted in its strange way, rather than a slice of actual cheddar. Oh well. Still, it was only $5 and super fast, and WAY better than the hotel food.

The next morning we had a leisurely sunday sit down breakfast. Delighted to find that they had SO MANY Eggs Benedict choices (8 or 10 different combinations). Very extensive menu. And they had very powerful heaters around the under-cover outdoor tables, so it was pleasant, even on a cold rainy morning. My coworker got the orange juice (listed as: "REAL" fresh squeezed orange juice). We'd joked about the mis-use of quotation marks, and how it calls into question whether it is actually real or not. However, when she got her glass, she said it tasted like Tang or some other mix, and not real. So maybe they put those quotes there on purpose? (I didn't try it, so can't say, either way) In any case, our breakfasts were both quite tasty. I had the veggie benedict (grilled tomato slices and avocado). Lovely hollandaise sauce, and PERFECTLY poached eggs. The country potatoes were also tasty. The jam packets on the table had seen better days (been outdoors for too long, I think) so we skipped that part.

Strangely, they don't have any recycling bins, but they sell a large number of glass bottled Snapple type drinks. Living in Seattle, I'm used to recycling being ubiquitous. Maybe Los Altos/Palo Alto area doesn't recycle really at all, or maybe it's unique to this shopping center. *shrug*

This is an outstanding breakfast spot. The eggs benedict is among the very best I've had. The cook's have an unusually high level of attention to detail, as the egg is ALWAYS perfectly poached and never runny. The hollandaise sauce is thin and savory, and the english muffin is always toasted perfectly with the right amount of crunch. The hash browns are made the way hash browns are supposed to be- light and crispy.

It's a quaint place with great service and great prices. I'm always stuffed when I'm finished and am always pleasantly surprised when my bill is barely over 10 dollars. Highly recommended.

    Helen is an absolute sweetheart.

First time coming here and I will definitely be coming back. Portions are huge and the price is decent. The restaurant is definitely busy but they know what customer service is as they (waitresses) come and check up on you often. The food is good. It was better then I expected. Scrambled is great, french toast had just the right fluff. All in all, very enjoyable.

    Poached eggs and hollandaise... yummm!

This is a cool little place that has quite a bit of room. It has indoor and outdoor seating which is great during the summers. Service was pretty quick.

I'm a huge fan of eggs benedict so I ordered the turkey, mushroom and avocado eggs benedict and it came out in about 5 minutes. Amazingly quick for something that is made to order.

I thought the poached eggs were perfect. The hollandaise was slightly less flavor than other breakfast places I've been to but alright. Mushrooms seemed a little undercooked but the avocados were great on it.

I got the homestyle potatoes which seemed a little oily for me. Next time I'll try the hash browns.

All in all, great place for anyone. Really casual atmosphere. Decent prices.

OK so this time I ordered the vegetarian eggs benedict.

The eggs were poached perfectly, and the Hollandaise sauce was rich and mellow.  Really good, and I would order this again.  The avocado added such nice taste and texture to the dish.  They have other kinds too so I might try another kind next time.  I'm glad I didn't order the breakfast burrito like last time..

I made the right choice this time and made sure I ordered the potatoes, which are so much better than the hash browns.

I will be a returning customer.  Someone at another table ordered the country fried steak last time and it looked hefty right.  Also, there is a user photo of some AMAZING looking Rocky Road Pancakes.. I'm definitely getting a batch of those.

This place actually has some good breakfast/brunch.  Service is plentiful and attentive.  Good work.

The wait for the table wasn't TOO bad on a Sunday morning at 11:30am.  Lots of families and couples were there, with both indoor and outdoor seating that goes along the entire side of the building.  Find the serve to put your name on the list, then wait patiently for them to call you (at least they have a 30 min limit on their free WiFi, so people don't hog tables all day long :P).

The menu has your typical brunch items, but there are a lot of healthier options, too.  Their prices are lower than at most brunch places, especially with the specials, which include coffee, tea, or freshly squeezed orange juice (not watered down with ice).  On top of that, everything comes with either HASH BROWNS or country potatoes and also toast.  If you want less carbs, you can substitute the potatoes with salad free of charge.

The breakfast burrito was pretty large, with a soft flour tortilla that was grilled just slightly on the outside, with melted cheese, potatoes (a lot of potatoes..), sausage, and eggs on the inside.  They have 3 different breakfast burritos starting at only $4.99.

As for omelettes, I've never seen such generous fillings.  It was mostly the filling, wrapped in a thin layer of egg.  I got the Skinny Chicken, with egg whites free of charge.  There were generous amounts of grilled chicken breast (well seasoned), with tomatoes, caramelized onions, and mushrooms inside.   They do everything on a large griddle, and the caramelization on the onions and mushrooms make all the difference.  Unlike at some other places, it was not over-buttery.

In addition to the above, we couldn't resist the banana pancakes.  I don't usually like pancakes, but these have mashed bananas INSIDE the batter, which make the pancakes so much better.  The edges were slightly browned, and it was topped with fresh banana slices.  With the banana inside, you don't even need a lot of syrup.

I'd probably avoid the waffles, which looked slightly dinky on the table next to ours.  Other tables' biscuits and sausage and benedicts looked good, though.

They do have Java City coffee/espresso available, with non-fat milk and soy milk options.

I like the open kitchen, but it's also a small kitchen, so if every table orders at around the same time, you may end up waiting a while for your food.  Even when it's not crowded, the food takes a while.

The servers are friendly, and it's a cute family owned place, so they try hard to please.  Prices are super reasonable for the quality and portions.  AND they do take American Express. This has definitely become my new local breakfast/brunch place!

Just saying upfront, I only go here for breakfast so this review doesn't pertain to lunch.
I do like A good morning, and will be a semi-regular here. I wish I could give is 3.5 stars, as I'm sure many yelp fans feel they could give half stars in their reviews, c'est la vie.

This place gets fairly packed, and LOUD! Inside. We always sit outside, even if its cold the heaters do a good enough job. Outside, it's relaxed and much more quiet. The service is friendly but unorganized (e.g. You'll be asked the same questions from several different servers) and food is a touch slow coming out.)

The scrambles, eggs, chicken sausage all great. The bagel and croissant sandwiches are tasty and bread are good.

The pancakes are not, and the syrup is cheap. I can easily make better at home. I have not tried the french toast or waffles.

This is fine, we generally flip between two breakfast places, and the other one has awesome pancakes so I go there for that, and here for the other stuff.

Unless you have to wait more than 20 minutes for a seat and another 20 for food, it will gerenally be a good morning here.

cheap prices, and good food. my only complaint, my toast was a little over-buttered and the place can get a little crowded...which means they are pretty good in my book if my biggest concern is too much dairy product on my sourdough. anyways, we went on a sunday morning around 11:30 and were seated within minutes. i did notice that some people waited for 10 minutes before getting seated, but not bad for a sunday morning.

i ordered the spanish scramble. this was amazing!!!! lots of everything (cheese, peppers, ham), they definitely don't skimp you on filling. and the hash browns went great with the scramble! my bf got the blueberry pancakes. pretty good, but could probably use another pancake (they only give you two).

overall, I will definitely come back. like i said, cheap yummy eats!!

The hollandaise sauce here is flavorful and thick.  I like that the hash browns are not too salty but aren't bland either.

Not a really great place. Would have given it a four star if the bacon isn't so thick and fatty.

So, we ordered spinach egg benedict and corn beef hash here. The corn beef hash is really really salty. But it definitely pairs well with the hash browns. The hash brown is rather tasteless, but it's still oily and good. The toast is okay, nothing to rave about. They do put butter on your toast though. The egg benedict is kinda... strange. An order comes with two. One of the egg is poached perfectly (with the egg yolk comes oozing out when you cut it in half) and the other one.. not so perfect (the egg yolk is hard). But it's definitely a good dish. The bacon that comes with the benedict is really thick though. and It's not crispy either. It's scarily fatty.

Didn't try the pancakes or the waffles.
It's a good place to come to. Kinda expensive...

Oh, the service is not that great. The people seems to be avoiding you. o: My sister only got on refill of her coffee. The people working there seems to be too afraid to approach us or something. It's rather irritating. It takes them some time to give us our check too.

My favorite dish here (which is as basic as you can get) is the corned beef hash, eggs and hash browns (or what I call the "BP Oil Spill and Carb Explosion").  For this dish to be good you need the canned corned beef hash (rather than regular corned beef that's just broken up).  This way you can get the hash nice and crispy.  For sandwiches regular corned beef is better.

The service is good and the restaurant is cozy.  There's a good selection and the prices aren't bad at all.

I will have to try some of the lunch items next!

One of the largest breakfast menus I've ever seen!  It's the local "greasy spoon" - WITHOUT the grease. yay!  The service is OK, but there were a few communication issues.  Overall, it's one of the only decent breakfast places in the area, so I'm sure I'll be back.
NOTE:  When I ask for a side of salsa, could I have more than a thimble full please? Thanks!

I really wanted to give this place 4 stars - the menu was very enticing, the place was cute, and the croissant in my egg & cheese sandwich was outstanding - but the food just really was very lackluster overall and the service left a lot to be desired.

There was no wait at about 9:30 on a Saturday, although it was already quite busy and I'm sure there's more of a wait later on.  My bf had a philly cheesesteak sandwich with fries ($8.25) and I had a cheese-and-egg sandwich on a croissant ($6), which came with hashbrowns.  I also ordered a chocolate chip muffin ($2.20).  Except for the muffin, I thought everything was very reasonably-priced - the sandwiches were mostly $7-$8 and breakfast entrees were $7-$9 and everything seemed to come with a LOT of stuff on the side.

However, the food was mostly mediocre.  My chocolate chip muffin was ok but tasted like a Safeway muffin for about 3x the price.  As I said, the croissant in my egg and cheese sandwich was perfection - buttery, flaky, just awesome.  But the egg tasted like one of the pre-made McDonalds egg patties that they just microwave, and the hashbrowns were dry and bland.   My bf liked the bread on his sandwich, but felt like it could have used a sauce or seasoning or something, other than just bread and meat.  The fries that came with his sandwich were very mediocre too.

Service left a lot to be desired - we only saw our waiter about twice and had an incredibly long wait to get the check and pay.  Yet at the same time they were so slow to serve us, they seemed to be looking at us like we were lingering too long at the table.   They did have a bunch of people waiting, but then they should bring us our check!

I wouldn't be opposed to coming back here, but I don't think it will be in our regular brunch rotation anytime soon.

I'm not a huge fan of the sausage. Though I can be tempted if the sausage is mixed with diverse deliciousness. I believe most people to be the same. Pure blood sausage is just mundane. Not to mention it's not very American. Although you might find an undercurrent of sausage discrimination still swirling in the Jim Crow south. But who cares about them people, right? Bunch of wieners. Must be a Vienna sausage complex or something. All I know is that they need to re-link-uish the hate.

    But I digress.

In this case, at A Good Morning Cafe, the Chicken Apple Sausage omelet capitulates my taste buds and integrates two foreign flavors in a way that would entice Rosa Parks herself to wrap her buns around it. Add some mushrooms, American cheese, a side of country potatoes and whole wheat toast, and you'll be advocating non-violent Civil disobedience in no time.

My favorite idiosyncrasy of the cafe is the outdoor seating area which is dog friendly. The gf and I have taken advantage of this and have enjoyed many a pleasant Sunday morning strolls over with our favorite pooch.

The only con is that the service can at times be non existent due to a lack of staffing during peak periods. So make it a point to get there early. And just the tip. . .

    Love thy sausage.

There is a lot of good things to say about AGM. They have the best Benedict selection in town. They have some delicious hash browns. The breakfast Sandos are stellar. We never wait long for a table (I also dine early). The Coffee is great. All of the ladies working there are friendly and very good at their jobs. I do have one complaint about AGM though. I have had numerous issues with the taller male waiter. I have watched him screw up other customer's orders as well. I ask for well done, I get half raw. I ask for OJ and I get coffee. Basically any modification to my order is too much to comprehend and communicate accurately to the kitchen. He means well but it just seems like he is not cut out to be in the hospitality industry. If you take him out of the equation AGM gets 5 stars in my book any day.

This place is too cute. The food is great. I usually hook up a breakfast burrito which is BOMB!
You can get breakfast anytime which is nice, so if you are having a slow day or hungover this place is perfect lol.

Its a little small, so if they get busy you are stuck outside or waiting. Honestly, I've never had too much of an issue with that. The staff has been pretty fast in my opinion.

Good food, good price. Try it!

Large menu, interesting location, and absent minded service. Combine all and you've got yourself a slow morning, not knowing where to eat...but the plus side is that you've found parking.

My friends and I (group of five) were seated in the back at probably what was their largest table. Service was random and inconsistent - which I felt was odd since it's not a very large restaurant. It boils down to whoever you can flag down and how much they're willing to write down and remember. Atmosphere is definitely lacking and all the tables are ever so slightly sticky how clean and airy their sign out front is. To be honest it's all a bit random...they offer a full menu, but it looks more like it should be a mom and pop coffee shop, but not a diner.

    On my plate:
+ Lox Eggs Benedict Half Portion ($8.95) with hash browns
Happy that they were willing to accommodate me, but a little annoyed that a half portion was only $2 less than the full portion. Hash browns are perfect. Golden brown, not greasy, and crispy.

    +/- Cappucino
Half if not more was foam. Temperature was lukewarm, but at least it was decently strong...makes me wonder how you can make a very frothy, but lukewarm espresso beverage. Skip it here, go to Peets afterward.

    Be advised:
    * the waffle really does look and taste like an Eggo - avoid, avoid, avoid.

Coming back for more? For a full plate of Lox Eggs Benedict and hash browns, if at all.

I was not impressed for several reasons.  The first was my apple juice glass had bright pink lipstick (not mine) all over the rim.  We only saw our server once when he took our order.  Someone else dropped our food off and nobody checked to see if our meal was ok.
It was, I ordered the All American and my guy ordered the Big Boy.  Both were very tasty.  The place was very busy so maybe it was a fluke that we got such poor service.  I won't be in any hurry to eat here again.

Had a reasonable breakfast here.  Some eggs, toast (not very toasted though, more like hard bread) and fruit.  And a freshly squeezed OJ which was actually very good.

    Wasn't particularly interesting, but acceptable.

    (woot, 800th yelp review!)

I went here on a Saturday morning after searching "breakfast" on yelp. There isn't a whole lot of breakfast joints in Los Altos but this is the best I have found.

It looked like a lot of people had heard about this place since the place was full. We sat outside so there was not wait. First, when we went inside to ask for a table my boyfriend saw these freshly baked, big croissants on display. It was the first thing he ordered and the best. Make sure to ask them to warm them first. Its a week later and I still cant stop thinking about that croissant:)

We ordered coffee and tea. My mug had a chunk for ceramic missing so not the highest of quality in breakfast-ware.

I ordered the new/healthy turkey sausage scramble. If you like meat it would be a good choice for you. There was more sausage then veggies or eggs. It was good and hearty. My boyfriend ordered the veggie egg Benedict and it was very tasty. When you order any entree you have a choice of hash browns or potatoes. The potatoes are a better choice if you like seasoning.
