Where do I begin? You know when they tell you that sometimes people come into your life and you are forever changed? Well for me, that person would be Soheila. I started coming to her roughly 4 1/2 months ago to treat my unwanted hair and as of my session today, you would think I'm a completely different person. "A Gentle Touch" is the most accurate name you could give Soheila's business, as she has made me feel so comfortable and at ease during my treatments that it's like a routine visit to the spa.

From the music in the background to the fun conversation, she makes every effort to make her clients feel comfortable and at home. Even from my consultation before my first session, Soheila made sure that I knew the difference between the types of electrolysis, what she would use to treat different areas and why, and how much time it would take before I saw the results. She was spot on with everything. She also made a terrific suggestion for a numbing cream which definitely helped in areas like my chin and upper lip.

I have been coming to her consistently for the last 4 1/2 months and the results I have seen are tremendous. No amount of plucking, waxing, threading, or laser gave me the results she has in such a short amount of time and the confidence I now have with clearer, hair free, smooth skin, is priceless. At the end of every session, she also takes the time to go over skin and hair-care ideas with me and I have followed every one of her suggestions and the results are so dramatic that my friends even do a double take.

If you are looking for a caring, gentle, and non-judgmental person to go to for hair removal, and one who runs her business with the utmost honesty and integrity, then Soheila is the one you should see. I would and have whole-heartedly recommended her to everyone that I know.

I went here for electrolysis. However, they also do permanent make-up, and skin care.Very clean/sanitary place. My electrolycian's name is Soheila Biria-she'll be the tall, beautiful brunette w/the porcelain skin. Her skin is impeccable, and definately encourages one to keep up on regular facials....

I went in for a (free) consultation where she educated me on the differences between blend and short-wave techniques, and was generous enough to offer me a FREE test patch so that I could not only see, but FEEL the difference btwn. the 2 methods.Very patient.Another thing, she's fast and not intentionally slow to try and cheat you out of your money. She chrgs. in 15 min. incriments. I booked 30 mins. and she took care of 2.5 areas...all in 30 mins.!!!!....(of course it varies according to the individual/procedure) Soheila has been in the business for 14 yrs. and it shows,ladies....check her out....

I've been going to Soheila since October, after years of plucking, waxing, laser, and electrolysis.  My face was a mess, and I was dealing with laser-induced hair growth, so I'd pretty much given up.  After only a few months, I see a huge difference.  I can't really express how much relief I feel - this was a problem that I've spent thousands of dollars on, I only wish I'd gone to her years ago.

She looked at the nature of my unwanted hair and chose a method that she thought would be most effective.  This method (multi-needle Galvanic) requires considerable skill on the part of the practitioner and very few electrologists use this method anymore.  Sohelia is amazing with it, and it has turned out to be the only method that worked for me, and FAST.  As long as you go in consistently and take your advice, you will see dramatic results.

And she's also a lovely person and a great listener :)

Wow, I don't know where to begin. I will never ever go back to Soheila at A Gentle Touch. I went to her for about 6 months for electrolysis, and every single time, I felt like I was being ripped off.

My main problem was that I felt like she lacked a bit of integrity. She was very hesitant to give me a rough estimate on how long you need to do electrolysis. I completely 100% understand it depends on the person, but I thought that she should have been able to ballpark 2 weeks versus 6 months versus 5 years. I'm the client and she's the expert, so I was relying on her to share some of her knowledge. (By the way, she had quoted me about 14-16 weeks for my upper lip hair, and that is grossly underestimated. I've been treating my upper lip for about a year now, and I still have some work to do. That would have been fine to tell me it takes a long time. It just sucked to have been lied to and have held unrealistic expectations. The current place I go to, told me up-front that it could take around 2 years.)

Furthermore, I felt like she always ended our sessions early, even though I paid for the full time. Finally, after a few months of weekly/biweekly appointments, she revealed that she has a timer. That made me feel better, but I felt like she still set the timer for 14 minutes rather than the full 15, etc.

She also increased prices, without mentioning it. I just noticed the new prices on the sign posted on her wall. Note that she charges a premium on weekends. She also charged me a ridiculous amount for the tiniest tube of numbing cream.

It isn't a nice, comfortable place by any means, and she didn't make it any more enjoyable with her icy personality. She wasn't very flexible with her appointment times. And her work space is above a dental office, so it can get loud. The one good thing about the dentist being downstairs is that they have a bathroom, although I always felt so awkward walking through their office to use it! And if your appointment is in the evening, after the dental office is closed, then you're just out of luck, because there is no bathroom upstairs. Either that, or she just doesn't share her own private bathroom? I agree she has beautiful skin, but it seemed like she judged me for my unwanted hairs and imperfect skin. She is the only employee, so she answers the phone everytime it rings. This is fine, but I didn't really enjoy her talking in my face as she worked on me. Also, I felt like she wasn't quite as good (and thus it was quite painful at times!) when she was distracted talking to her other clients/son/friends on the phone. The absolute worst appointment was when her son came in and WATCHED her work on my upper lip hair. COME ON. This should be a private experience and that was incredibly embarrassing. I should have never returned after that, but I wanted to give her a few more chances. Sadly things never improved.
