At A Fresh Coat Painting we provide professional and personal service for all your painting needs from painting the walls in a single room to taking care of all the coatings in a large remodel or custom construction project. We offer a wide variety of interior painting, exterior painting, protective coatings, staining, architectural coatings, faux finishing, and Venetian and Italian plasters.
Whichever finishes you choose, the basic principals apply -- we respect your time, provide you updates on your project, and work closely with you to create a home environment you'll enjoy for years to come.
We believe in a hands-on approach to serving our customers. Paul and Kurt are both experienced painters and business owners committed to delivering customer-focused painting services and top-quality craftsmanship to every project.
Kurt and Paul oversee all jobs, work on most of them and only hire people that live up to our high standards of craftsmanship and customer service.

At A Fresh Coat Painting LLC we believe in a hands-on approach to serving customers. The owners, Paul Schroder and Kurt Deppisch, are both experienced painters and business owners committed to delivering customer-focused painting services and top-quality workmanship. We work with you through the entire job big or small to ensure that every job is done right. With Fresh Coat Painting, Kurt and/or Paul will come to your home to give you an estimate, we will carefully oversee the crew painting your home and we will ensure the work lives up to our high standards. We both still love to paint and will often do some of the painting ourselves especially in winter.
Meet the Business Owner: Paul S.
After earning a BA in environmental studies at the UO I started a website design business. In 2003 I started painting homes and learning faux finishing.
For the last 6 years I've been running a home painting company in Portland Oregon, A Fresh Coat Painting, with Kurt. I like the experience of working on something more tangible than a website. Taking care of someone's home and helping them to transform their living environment is a great joy. Being a craftsman and properly taking care of a job makes being self-employed worth the long hours and effort.
I've been very fortunate to partner with Kurt Deppisch. Kurt is my cousin by marriage and has been painting for 25 years. He started working in local paint stores before becoming a professional residential and commercial painter. We bring many different skills to our company; challenge each other excel; and we bring the fun and passion to our work that made us start painting together originally.
