I'm a difficult patient -- I have advanced TMJ, which means that I can only open my mouth about an inch and a half from top teeth to bottom if I REALLY strain hard. When I needed a root canal on one of my rear molars, I was a nervous wreck -- the thought of keeping my mouth open for an hour was unbearably terrifying. I was so stressed! What if halfway through, I couldn't take it anymore and had to stop?
Dr. Gardner performed the procedure under IV sedation. I remember him inserting the IV (literally just a tiny pinch), feeling a little relaxed and then thinking, so when is he going to start? Only then did I realize that he was done. Tabatha gave me a wonderful jaw massage as I "came back". I know it was a complicated procedure due to the TMJ but they pulled it off! I was sent home with a prescription for painkillers, took a couple before falling asleep and never felt discomfort.
It's two days later and I haven't had so much as a Tylenol today. I feel great. My only regret is that I bore out a horrible toothache for two weeks and didn't have this done sooner. If you are a TMJ patient or have severe dental anxiety, you must go to A Dental Concept. Thanks to everyone for a great first root canal. :) -

I have been going to Dr. Gardner's office now for the last 4 years. I needed some cavity work done and I am very pleased with the results. They don't use silver for fillings and instead use some type of resin that looks like a tooth. You would be hard pressed to spot someone with this type of filling if you weren't actively looking for it.
I've been coming back at least twice a year for routine cleanings. Their staff is always friendly and helpful if I have any questions.
Dr. Gardner won the Phoenix New Times best dentist award a few years ago so you know he has a loyal client base. Best dentist I've ever had.
