FREAKING DELICIOUS!!!!!!!
Ok, so i went to High School with Kristin, so i was very happy when i found out she was doing wedding cakes. We easily chatted over facebook and through email and she has been so professional and kind throughout the whole process.
My husband and i could not stop eating her samples. HER BUTTERCREAM FROSTING IS TO DIE FOR!!!!!!
Since my husband is a coconut addict - we went with yellow cake with coconut cream filling for our top tier and our cupcakes were devil's food cake with cookies and cream filling along with the yellow cake/coconut cream. DELICIOUS I TELL YOU!!!!!!
Our cake was simple and i supplied the ribbon, brooch and cake topper, but Kristin did an amazing job on the set up.
I seriously want to keep coming back to her for more of her delicious cakes! thank goodness for birthdays!!! :)Listed in: Awesome Wedding Vendors

For my wedding I knew I could live without the fancy stuff but I really wanted a wedding cake, or a cupcake cake. I checked out a few cake places but A Cake Life stuck in my mind so I set up an appointment for a cake tasting. Kristin (the owner) doesnt have a show room, she holds the tastings at The Wedding Cafe which was fine with me since I live close to ward. My husband and I went to meet kristin, she was so nice! And was willing to do what we wanted for our wedding cake. For me it was hard because I knew I wanted a nice cupcake cake, but I didnt know how I wanted it decorated. Kristin suggested I make paper cranes with blue and yellow (my wedding colors) origami paper, and the frosting will be blue and yellow. Finally came the cake tasting! All the flavors tasted great!!!! We had trouble deciding which flavors we wanted. My husband and I don't like lilikoi or so we thought, the lilikoi filled cake was so good we ended up the flavor for half of our cupcakes, the other half was carrot cake and the top we got the lemon drop. Kristin was good at responded and i usually got a response the next day if I emailed her. Before my wedding I was a little worried my cake would be a little too colorful because I couldnt find just blue and yellow origami paper but I knew Kristin would make it work.
When I saw my cake... it was so beautiful.All white cake with the cranes perfectly placed on top of each cupcake. I loved it and so did our guest. Everyone kept taking pictures of it! The cakes tasted great, guest even took some cup cakes home. My favorite part... was the top layer of course! The lemon drop flavor was delicious, I was glad no on ate the top too, could take the top home for myself. lol. I would totally recommend Kristin for custom cakes! Thank you Kristin for making my wedding cake dream come true!! -

I ordered my daughter's first birthday cake it had a 6 inch cake topper with regular and mini cupcakes on the bottom. Her cake theme was "canyland and cupcakes".
The decoration was cute, i liked it. If it was just for looks i would rate this 4 stars...
But when it comes down to the taste and the texture of the cake and cupcakes..it sucked!
When i met with Kristen for a consultaion she gave us samples of their different flavors and i feel in love with their white cake with strawberry filling in the middle. It was so good i was excited to have that at my daughter's party. When the day comes they were on time, the cake looked great and i couldnt wait to eat it.
When i cut the cake i expected it to have more filling it was just a little ball of filling in the middle of the cake. It didnt taste the same when i tried it on my consultation..the cake was soo dry! Nobody wanted to eat it I just threw it all away. I was so dissapointed..so basically i just paid for the looks of the cake. -

A Cake Life? I wish life was that easy! But thanks to Kristin who has been a gem to work with so far, it is. Well, at least the little chapter of my life regarding my wedding cake is.
I live in the bay area now so planning a wedding long distance is not exactly easy. Kristin has been able to communicate with me easily through email and phone. What I love about her is that she gets back to you as soon as possible unlike other vendors that I've dealt with so far. She really does put you at ease.
Since I can't taste the cakes myself, my dear sister and a friend of mine set up an appointment with Kristin to help me decide on the flavor. Kristin was so great that she emailed me shortly after the cake tasting with a recap of what they talked about and which ones were the favorites. Shortly after we had a phone consult and I picked out the flavors for my cake. Plural because i'm having a cupcake cake! A Cake Life made it affordable for me to have a cupcake cake with FOUR flavors!
Kristin emailed me my contract with a sketch of how the cake will look like. Adorable! I can't wait to see the end results! Who says that you can't have your cake and eat it too? I certainly will!

After searching on Yelp for wedding cakes, I decided I wanted A Cake Life. The cupcake/cake combination was perfect for me. So I went on their website and filled out their information page and wasn't contacted in the promised time. I called and left a message and still haven't been contacted. What a BIG let down. Am I seriously the only one they don't contact? If they were booked that day, I could at least get a better let down than just ignoring my call. Boo! :(

Kristin did a good job with my surprise birthday cake for my twenty-forth birthday. I am a fan of Kidrobot and Dunnys. She did a great job replicating one of my favorite Dunnys and the cake was delicious! Red velvet to be exact.
She did a good job keeping it a secret and delivering it to where I was having dinner that night.

Kristin did an amazing job on my wedding cake. I had a destination wedding so I couldn't meet with her in person or do a tasting but she let my sister-in-law do a tasting and worked with me over phone and email to determine exactly what I wanted.
We wanted models of our 2 cats as a topper and when I saw the finished product at the wedding I almost started crying because they were so life-like. All of the details came out perfectly and I could not be more pleased with how it looked.
Oh, and it tasted AMAZING too. I could barely eat anything the whole night due to nerves and a corset dress but I managed to eat a bunch of cake. We had 2 flavors: guava cake with fresh strawberry filling and coconut on coconut and both were absolutely delicious.
If you are looking for someone to do your wedding cake (or any cake) I would definitely recommend Kristin/A Cake Life -

I am so happy that I found Kristen to do my wedding cake - actually I kind of lucked out :-). I was all set with another bakery (which will remain nameless) and just as I thought it was a done deal I got a phone call from the bakery to tell me that they could not do my cake because of the volume of orders they had. They referred me to Kristen at A Cake Life and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise! Kristen was so easy to work with...she was patient, professional, flexible, detailed, accommodating and responsive! The cake was exactly what I wanted, delicious and a reasonable price - I couldn't ask for more! I highly recommend A Cake Life for all brides-to-be, you can put your trust in Kristen's hands and not have to worry about a thing!

Kristin did a beautiful job on a cake for my Grandma's 90th birthday; it was a delicious red velvet cake and she was very patient in working with me regarding the details and design. I highly recommend working with her for any special event!

Kristin has done my daughters 2nd and 3rd birthday cake as well as my nephews cake and my friends baby shower. She always delivers cakes beyond my expectations. I normally request things in advance, however I contacted Kristin about 3 weeks before her party this year and asked her to create a circus/carnival themed cake. She accepted the challenge and delivered something far more than I could have imagined. Everyone was OOHHING and AHHING over the cupcakes and saying how very unique and delicious the cupcakes were! We had the party at Richardson Field and there were so many bugs, that Kristin came back with bug repellant for us! I say that she goes above and beyond for each of her clients and I know that I will continue to use A Cake Life my daughters cakes :) Thanks again Kristin and see you next year :)

W.O.W. I was super impressed by the cupcakes!! They were awesome! Super moist and the frosting was delicious! I just wish they were bigger! Haven't tried their cakes yet, but they look beautiful!

I have used Kristin for two events now and couldn't be any happier with the outcome. Both cakes were a hit! The first cake was a fun, creative birthday cake, whereas the second cake was very elegant, and modern. Both could not have been executed any better. She works well with her clients to achieve the best results. In fact, she had gone above and beyond my expectations. I however have one regret- I didn't have any of her business cards on hand when the guests inquired. One mistake I will not make in the future.
