Recently had some work done on my brakes and it's the first time ever that my brakes didn't squeak coming out of the lot. A past accident left some damage that never got fixed by the no talent ass clown shop that "took care of it" the first time. They even took about $40 off the bill and said I'd be getting a card in the mail that would get me another $60 in credit.
I switched to AC Auto about a year ago because of their proximity to my office and I have no regrets. They know their stuff and often go out of their way to make sure you know what's going on with your car. They're fast, efficient, and don't cut corners just to get you out of there. Never had a problem with them and they often remind me on my way out that they'll fix anything that goes wrong at their cost if it's related to the service. At this point I wouldn't even consider taking my business elsewhere, I trust these guys. -

If you go here you are paying to much. I went in here to see about my Tahoe. They told me it needed brakes. Quoted me 1024.00 for brakes. I shopped around. Found an ASE certified mobile mechanic that would come to my home do it there for 150.00 as long as I supplied the proper parts. Went down to OReilly spent 375.00 for ALL parts for front and back. He took a look said I did not even need the back drum brakes.
Do not overpay Mechanics. Seattle area shops are known for overpricing all auto repairs. If you can either find a mobile guy or drive south to Puyallup or Tacoma do so. -

The bitter cold and the "gets me bitter" snow caused one of my headlight bulbs to go out. After driving at night for a couple of nights (risking a ticket) and trying to replace the bulb myself, to which my hand hates me, I decided to find somewhere relatively close to my house that would do it.
A.C. Automotive is open on Saturdays until 4:30, and they seemingly do everything, from tuneups to brakes, to transmissions, to heaters, to installing headlight bulbs!
The time taken? 20 minutes. The damage? 20 bones. The next time I need something to my car, A.C., I'm comin' to see ya! -

Auto mechanics are crooks. All of them. I am so tired of being taken advantage of by mechanics. Yes, they are all losers in life. Nobody grew up and wanted to change oil for a living. Kids, if you don't go to college, you end up being a mechanic. Dealing with mechanics is a part of life, but I am frustrated that the industry is full of retards. I have taken my car to three places in Seattle over the years and have been screwed over by all of them. I expect the next place where I take my place will do me the same. Here are the stories....
Example #2: A.C. Automotive in Sodo
I had some air filter in the dash replaced as part of my 30,000 mile check-up. The following week, my car smelled like FISH. Yes, it smelled like a fish market in my car. I called A.C. Automotive, explained the problem and they told me to come in. I came back in and it took 1.5 hours for them to fix the problem. They sprayed some kind of soap in the air system. The next week my car smelled like dish soap. I was pissed because I wasted 1.5 hours of my life having to come back in and two weeks of funny smells in my car. I paid them for this experience. The worst part, the front counter loser did not say sorry or offer any compensation. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE.

I was forced to go to this location ONLY because it was on the 'recommended Emissions Testing Stations list' provided to me from the Emissions Testing location, and it was open on a Saturday... the whole reason for me failing the emissions test was because the 'Check Engine' light was on.... they reset it, by telling me they replaced two parts, and for a whopping $600.00, 8 days later the 'Check Engine' light is on again... I take it back to them, and am told something about a smoke test to figure out where the leak was coming from.... after waiting till the end of the day, I am told that the 'Check Engine' light came on because the gas cap was not tightened properly... so I drive away from the garage, I am able to tool around for about a week and yup you guessed it, the 'Check Engine' light comes on again.... editors note, in that week, I had not refilled my gas tank, as I bus it too work, and live within three blocks of Safeway... so I take it back to AC for a third time, and they are going to do another smoke test... this time the results are a little more complicated, and going to cost $200 dollars to repair... I couldn't deal with it, and told the service adviser that I DID NOT WANT THEM DOING ANYTHING TO MY CAR... as it has already cost me $600 for the original repair of the 'Check Engine' light. I asked for the read out for the 'smoke test' do I could take it too the dealership, and was told sheepishly that there was none.
I WILL NOT BE BACK! WOULD STEER CLEAR OF THIS "Stab in the Dark, Garage'
I also contacted the WA Emissions testing facility and subsequently wrote a letter objecting to these 'clowns' being on the recommended or authorized repair list.... -

Seems like an honest shop. They quoted a price and stuck to that. Didn't try to tack on all kinds of extras. Friendly staff, not a hint of that condescending mechanic speak that you get at other shops. I'll keep going back.
