I first became introduced to Pat Miller's creations when I began working for a regular client of hers - an internationally known artist. When you see her arrangements - actually more like miniature environments created as a meditation on nature, beauty, life, and art - it is understandable why this particular artist, as well as a host of other well-known and well-heeled throughout the Bay Area, call on her. She is about creating highly individualized works of art. This is definitely not a person who has a catalogue of template arrangements, nor is she someone you would call and say "I'd like a red and purple arrangement to match my living room." Each flower, texture, shape, container is chosen with intention and care. The more Pat gets to know you and/or the the purpose of the order, the more she will amaze, bringing to life serenely stunning arrangements which communicate the empathy and deep understanding that she brings to each. Having said all of these things, Pat is not a lofty, esoteric artist - far from it. As many others have said, she is indeed the loveliest and most accessible person to work with!

Pat's work is exquisite it's true. Her arrangements evolve and bloom over several days, and serve as a meditation on the beauty of impermanence.
I sent some of her flowers to a client recently, only to have them call in awe an hour after they arrived.
I've heard people talk in hushed tones about the old shop on Union street and what a marvel it was. The good news is Pat now offers a custom service, and same day delivery. Her prices are also extraordinarily reasonable.

After seeing the reviews on yelp I decided to give Pat a try. Flowers are a bit intimidating to me, I hardly know a carnation from a rose. To further the issue, my girlfriend is an interior designer who took classes in flower arrangements. I left the decisions to the professionals and GF was duly impressed--Not something that would happen (as much) from Safeway flowers. This is a great choice for a special occasion. These are not the cheapest flowers you can find--but people definitely notice the difference.
Pat went above and beyond to clear up a misunderstanding on the phone that was probably my own fault. She obviously wants very satisfied customers.

I first saw the quality of Pat's work when I referred her to a general contractor I knew. They have now used her repeatedly to send gorgeous bouquets and unique arrangements to their clients.
Then, I got the personal touch by asking Pat to create something for my wife for Valentine's Day. "Oh my God," I said when the arrangement arrived. My wife loved it. I loved it. And everyone was thrilled with her service. I can't recommend her highly enough.

I whole heartedly agree with what everyone else has said about Bed of Roses and Pat. It's not that good service doesn't exist anymore, it's just that when you meet someone who goes the extra mile, you really feel special and want to keep going back. That was my experience with Bed of Roses.
I spent the second part of yesterday afternoon calling as many florists in the Mission neighborhood as was possible because we were trying to get a bouquet out today and wanted to make sure they delivered and didn't cost an arm and a leg. I work at a non-profit and our budget for the flowers, surprise!, surprise!, was limited. It was so nice to talk to someone like Pat who went out of her way to work with me and give us a price we could afford. Not only that, I had to go to Bed of Roses to drop of a letter we wanted delivered with the bouquet, I got to meet Pat face to face and she gave me a hug! It was so sweet and made me feel like more than another customer. I also loved the pot used to hold the flowers, we were sending the bouquet to another office and it seemed perfect for a work environment, it had that neutral, classic look. Thanks Pat and look forward to seeing you again! -

I own a Japanese restaurant and catering company. We use Bed of Roses on a weekly basis at our restaurant. Thier flower arrangements are uniquly different and stunning! I have many customers ask who I use.
Recently I sent one of Pat's flower arrangement to a friend of mine who opened up a huge restaurant (non-Japanese). He took the time to come to our restaurant and said, "Thank you SO much for the BEAUTIFUL arrangement. If it dies, I'll have to fire someone!"
At our catering company, we recommend using A Bed of Roses for weddings. It's a once in your lifetime show, so the flowers better be as beautiful as the brides. -

Pat is a rockstar florist, end of story. Look no further, just stop. I've been getting arrangements from her for 20 years, and she never ceases to amaze. Five stars, but also Six Flags!

This place is a find! Pat, the owner, is extremely caring and will provide every client personal attention and taylor their arrangement to meet the recipiants personality, colors, and dreams. The results: an awe inspiring peice of art that will delight the heaviest of hearts.
They deliver so if you are even considering ordering flowers over the internet for someone in the San Francisco area, forget it - call Pat instead. For about the same price, you will get a bouquet that is tens times better. Couple a treat from here with a dinner at Parcel 104 and you could get yourself one heck of a "get out of jail free" card with your honey. -

I called looked Pat up on Yelp and I was immediately struck by the slideshow of her arrangements. I used to blow glass, and worked for Dale Chihuly and Lino Tagliapietra on the small Venitians series . I saw a lot of things in Pat's arrangements that reminded me of some of those pieces, so I picked up the phone.
I needed an affordable arrangement for my boss who was home recovering from surgery. Two days later, we got a call. The flowers had been delivered, and were greatly appreciated and admired.
I hope to make some vessels someday for Pat to fill with flowers!

...sick and tired of the ordinary ole flower arrangements??...look no further than A Bed of Roses...you will be delighted with the loveliness, uniqueness, and beauty in her special creation... just for you...sometimes you will think you have never seen one of these flowers before...and perhaps, she found it specially for your arrangement!

Pat is an amazing floral designer. When you want something truly special and unique she is the only one you need see. Rather then all the generic flowers and arrangements everyone else carries, Pat makes each boquet into a true work of art! I highly recommend her!

If you have any reason at all to pay homage to a dear friend, special someone or just make a permanent impression on whomever should be so lucky, then your search for the perfect florist should end here. The creative genius behind 'A Bed of Roses' ,Pat Miller, creates such visually tantalizing peices of artistry which undoubtedly leave no room for words due to ecstatic delight. Whether you are looking for a weekly delivery for your work or office space, or want to show your love, 'A Bed of Roses' has proven to me again and again that they are creating peices which are most certainly everything BUT the ordinary! With a clientelle which has included Audrey Hepburn and Sharon Stone, to name just a few, I couldn't help but have a new level of respect for their choice in floral artistry.

Back in 1984 Pat did my wedding flowers and they were stellar. Different and fresh and delicate and suited to me perfectly. She even made the tuber roses, which I love for fragrance, look good. And she didn't laugh at me when I said "no baby's breath". I couldn't have been happier. My family has been using her ever since. Really exceptional!

I ordered flowers for Valentines Day for my wife. They were a bit expensive, but very elegant and beautiful. They came in a really unique vase and even had a little card listing the types of flowers which I thought was nice.
While they were definitely on the more elegant and artistic side, they didn't quite hold up to time as well as I'd like. Some portions of the bouquet continued to bloom and transform into something more beautiful, while other portions were dieing. If they all lasted, it would have been amazing. I plucked out the few longer lasting flowers and saved them in a different vase at least.
Overall, they were just a bit too expensive for a 5 star rating. I can get a better arrangement for the same price from Church Street Flowers and even save money on delivery that way. I'd still highly recommend this place, and given how crazy Church Street is, I'll likely be a return customer. -

Pat lives to make the reciepents yell "oh, my God" . When she takes an order, it's not "what number floral arrangement do you want? "; it's" tell me about the person who is receiving the flowers". Yes, you'll pay a little more than at the cookie cutter florists, but Pat delivers art pieces created with flowers.
