This was my first (and best!) elite event!

    - Rockwell was a really cool venue for this type of event.
    - Good food, both variety and taste.
    - Project Photo Booth was really cool.
    - Good crowd vibe -- lots of energy and friendly people
    - Drink mixes were cool, mostly using Absolute vodka!

Overall, I had a great time.

I know this is overdue, but I just wanted to mention that this was an awesome kick-off to the year!

Awesome drinks, food, Tarantino-inspired performances, good company, and a Yelp watch!

The venue was fantastic! It was cute and cozy, but the open space allowed for fresh air at the same time.

The only downside was that the staff directed us to get drinks upstairs, but there was only one guy making drinks so the line took forever! We probably could have gone for 3 rounds downstairs in the time we were waiting, and by the time we got our drinks, there was no food except a couple pickings left. We were informed that the staff would be walking around with trays, but they never went upstairs.

Still, it was a great event. Thanks to the awesome CMs that put it together!

Tons of yummy treats, the signature cocktails were AMAZING! I have been to this venue before and I absolutely love it. Its modern and has an upstairs, downstairs and a hallway leading to other rooms. Its semi outdoors and has a romantic cute vibe.

The singers, dancers were also fantastic. Had so much fun watching them perform!

What a great way to start the year. Katie you are ABSOLUTely fabulous as always.

This is the moment everyone has been waiting for, the first elite event of the year. It was ABSOLUTely worth the wait. The drinks were tasty. For the meat lovers there was plenty of food going around. I was able to try their cheese and fruit.

The Tarantino show was great. Loved their energy.

Project Photo Booth was cranking out so many photos. I love Project Photo Booth.

Thank You Rockwell VT for hosting this great event. Thank You Katie B and CMs Christina, Brittany and Hazel for all your hard work.

It was great catching up with Yelpers I haven't seen in awhile and meeting new ones.

It's going to be an awesome year!

Possible last names for Katie B.

    a) "Badass" cause she throws awesome events flat out kicks ass as a person
    b) "Big Time" cause thats the only way she rolls
    c) "Buttah" cause she so smooth and makes everything better
    d) "Booyah" cause she got mad swag

Now while all of the above are great descriptions of our fresh to death LA East CM, the truth of the matter is none of those answers is her real last name, but if I had to choose I'd have to go with Buttah cause we all know shes smooth, and goes great with toast in the morning!

OK so I don't know where I was going with that, but there is one thing that I do know, and it's that last nights party at Rockwell VT had to be top 5 of all time, if not the GREATEST EVENT in Yelp History!  Big ups homie!  Great food, great people, and for what you may take from it, I bow my head, take a knee and pledge fealty my liege, Katie B.!

Way to do it big Katie! 2012 is yours...

It was only fitting that this Tarantino inspired Elite event started off with a lengthy conversation about the dead body parts found over in Griffith Park recently, which was no more than a mile or two from the location of the event.

The venue itself was amazing looking. I was waiting for the crazy 88 to jump on out. Though since I didn't bring my Hanzo steel, it's probably a good thing that it didn't get all kill bill up in this bitch.

It's hard to deny that with a tree right smack dab in the middle of the venue reaching up to the second floor, that the whole scene could be straight ripped out of a Quentin Tarantino flick. If anything, it just goes to show that the 1714 Vermont crew has got this location set perfectly.

Thanks to Katie, Christina, Hazel and Brittney for locking this mofo down and making it the cm's gimp. Cause even though some lines were long, the atmosphere of the event and conversing with people was off da chain, yo.

I'd also like to connect the free yelp watches to Pulp Fiction. But doing so would imply that the case of watches were kept up Christopher Walken's ass... for 2 years. You elite folks enjoy that gift for checking in now. Remember, mode 1 is set to scroll "TIME TO YELP". You keep that in mind.

    In any case.....

The bar lines were a bit longer on the upstairs level. So the smart move was just to go downstairs and brave the crowd that was swarming the food. One is left wondering if they have hungry hungry hippos in Europe. What with the metric system I'm sure they call them Royale Hippos... with cheese.

Well, with lamb lollypops, chicken wings, flatbread pizza and whatever else was being served that I never saw. Normally all you new badge folks would be dead as fried chicken when it comes to getting the food coming out, but you all happen to pull this shit while I'm in a transitional period. So I didn't want to elbow anyone of you guys for some appetizers.

So I stuck to the bare minimum here and stayed with the cheese and drinks. And how about them drinks. There was four to choose from. One of which was the winner of the absolut creation. Being Absolute with coke and some other nuttiness.

Now the Rockwell Grapevine was certainly no $5 Milk Shake, I did really like the Absolut Wildflower. Enough that I went for a second. Didn't get to try the Absolut Gemini as the lines during the beginning were slammed.

The folks at the Photobooth this event seem a little slow on the upkeep. I love them and have abused the hell out of the pictures in the past, but this time it seemed like... maybe i went there when they were just not feeling it.

It was great to see old faces, new faces.. though I'm not sure how many new faces I was stuck there in the middle with... But regardless of how I want to work in a prolific song from a QT movie soundtrack, I had a blast conversing and laughing uncontrollably.

I guess the only thing missing from this to make it a truly Pulp Fiction/Tarantino event was working in some aspect of his foot fetish. Or maybe that was covered in the first conversation of the event in the body parts found at Griffith Park... That's a foot massage you just don't want to fuck with.

    Great 1st event of 2012.

Things that made this event awesome:

Yelp Watch at check-in for those who didn't already have one!

Tasty and interesting Absolut vodka drinks (I don't drink coke and am only a small fan of spicy cocktails, so I preferred the Gemini and Wildflower drinks)

Shots (even if they just tasted like juice)

Project Photobooth with their super fast camera and printer. It was extra cool that they were on their own upper patio, making it the destination of the night.

Tarantino inspired entertainment- even if I saw it from the back, it was fun!

Multi level patios which brought the inside outside and the outside inside. This would be a super awesome place to hang out on a spring or summer evening.

Food- I guess there was a bunch of food, we kind of missed out on a lot of it, but got to enjoy some fruit and crackers, which might sound boring, but was a nice balance to all the drinks since we HAD to try them all.

Dessert- This was the only food I actually saw sitting there without a line, so I did try a nibble. Maybe everyone was already full? =D

And of course all the awesome people we got to hang out with. Thanks to Val and Jessica for sharing their table with us! It was great to see some faces I haven't seen for a long time.

"C'est la vie," say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell...

Thank you to our great CM's, Katie, Christina, and Hazel and to the staff at 1714 Vermont, Show at Barre, and Vermont Kitchen for a fun night!

    SYOY!

What a perfect venue for a Yelp event!  There are lots of nooks and secluded areas to hang out with friends, or there are more open areas where you can mingle and meet new people.  Although it was primarily outdoors, I was probably warmer than I would have been indoors thanks to the heaters lined throughout the entire outside area.

One of the best parts of this event was the drinks and the food.  The lines were long, and I found myself floating from line to line until I found one moving more quickly.  Once I found one headed in the right direct, it was so worth it.  I had a chance to try three of the drinks; which included the Yelper created Coke drink, the Wildflower, and the reddish-pink shots that were being passed out.  All of them were excellent, but my favorite by far was the Coke drink.  Big thumbs up to the Yelper who created this concoction, because it was a perfect combination of some of my favorite ingredients that made for a super tasty drink.

I didn't get to try much of the food, but of what I did try, I really liked.  The sliders were excellent and the mini-cupcakes were pretty good.  Unfortunately by the time I got to the table with the food, most of it was gone.  However, I was more inclined to try the drinks than the food, and loved what I got.

As always, the best part of this Yelp event was interacting with old and new Yelp friends alike.  It was fun to hang out and see everyone enjoying themselves.

Great venue + Great people = Great time!

Thanks Katie B for another awesome Yelp event!

Kicking the new year in to gear, sadly, without any beer, but...

Similar to this past summer's rum cocktail challenge, four Yelper-created vodka concoctions were on hand to consume.  I passed on the Jalapeno infused drink, but was pleasantly surprised as to how good the Absolute Wildflower Cocktail was.  Whoever came up with that one, mad props.  The Rockwell Grapevine tasted like a juice box, though the Absolute Vanilla and Coke was much better.

As for the food, the VT hooked it up, continually bringing out the goods.  And it wasn't the same thing over and over.  I chowed on some sliders (average), plump chicken wings (good), and some lamb chops (ridiculously good enough for Mike C. and I to debate taking the entire tray just for ourselves, and then get another).  I missed out on the other food, but was satisfied with the food I did get to try.

Good food, good drink, good people, good times.  Way to kick off twenty-ot-twelve, Katie B.!

In honor of Badge Fest, I'd like to give a special shout out to my two-time-gold-elite friend (yes, she has TWO GOLD ELITE BADGES!) Jin Y. for inviting me as her +1! I humbly bow down since my Elite Badges are still in it's red stages ;D

Not only was this the first Elite event of 2012 but it was also my first Elite event since being back in the country. So it was nice catching up with some of my favorite Yelpers who I haven't seen since my return, including the lovely Christina Y. who was passing out shiny red Yelp watches to all that checked-in to the event.

Jin and I walked straight to the bar and decided to start the evening right by double fisting our drinks. http://www.yelp.com/bi... We thought it would be smart to try every drink on the menu...you know, for research purposes and whatnot. My favorite was the Rockwell Grapevine which mixes Absolut Grapevine, cranberry, and pineapple.

Food? Yeah, there was food but Jin and I came with zero appetite :/ ...so I'll leave the food review to the other Yelpers.

Rockwell is a very cool venue! It's indoors but outdoors with a giant tree in the middle of the room as tall as the second floor which is all open air but with walls so you can see the sky but not the surrounding city unless you are super tall. Does that make sense? LOL! Downstairs has a bar, lounge seating, and large floor space for mingling. Upstairs has more pockets of lounge areas, a smaller bar, and table seating.

Entertainment? I totally missed the Pulp Fiction dance re-enactment because we were too preoccupied at Project Photobooth who we LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Jin and I basically lounged right next to the backdrop until we saw an opportunity to photobomb our favorite Yelpers! Believe me, this is also a very good way to make new friends ;D

This was a super fun event! Katie B. truly knows how to show us lucky Yelpers a good time! Major thanks to all that was involved and congrats to the new class of Elite Yelpers! :D

Katie B. rocks in the new year with another fabulous event, AWESOME!

Unfortunately, I was told that the line upstairs for the bar might be faster, but it was not.  I spent most of my time in that line thinking that it might be a good place to start.  I had a couple lamb lollypops and half of a well done kobe beef slider downstairs before Vanessa H. wrangled up some fruit, cheese, crackers, and shrimp skewers from the table and met me in line upstairs.  We also missed the Tarantino performers who were really cool but were able to hear them (think GLEE, but without the slushies).

However, while in line, I got to chat it up with Charles O., a new Yelp friend and it was his first YEE.  I finally made it to the window and ordered the Wildflower, which was a super yummy drink that tasted like lychee!  Happily imbibing, we went and took a photobooth picture and wound up downstairs where we co-mingled with more Yelpers like Matt P., Harmonie T., Katie B., Hazel Q., and Christina Y.  I think I saw Brittany B., but did not get to say hi to her.  I did also try the Gemini drink with the Ruby grapefruit and jalapeno.  It was not my cup of tea.  Still hungry, we ended up going to Ruen Pair for Thai food in Thai town after the event.  Thanks to Katie B. and her hardworking crew for another fantastic event.  SYOY!

I would have never known about Rockewell VT had it not been for this event.  As always, it was flawlessly executed by Katie B.

It was 7:30 when I stood briefly in line with my fellow Yelpers.  It was cold and I brought my New York grade winter coat as I had been forewarned of the chill factor as Rockwell is a confluence of indoor and outdoor areas.  It was actually unnecessary, however, as this venue's climate was perfect.

Rockwell is located within walking distance to a Metro Station, which I would utilize as I do not drive at all when I'm drinking.  Street parking is challenging, but there's valet parking ($6) in the alley east of Vermont.

There was an amalgamation of fruits, divine cookies, meats and cheese on the table.  In addition, the staff delivered mini tacos, lamb chops and meat skewers while we were standing in line for the food.  Those dishes are illustrative not exhaustive as I did not see all the dishes that were being served.

I didn't drink any specialty drinks as I drove here, but they all looked delicious and exciting.  The bartenders were in high speed mode as there were throngs of crowd at the bar.

Rockwell has a d.j. with premium sound system throughout the bar.  More impressive, however, was the performers who graced us with singing, dancing and acting.  It was magnificent.

Hmmm what time is it? Oh I know, I'll look at my COOL ASS YELP WATCH to find out. Yea you heard me, that's the new must have this season, a bright red Yelp watch. Calm your jealousy kids, for serious.

Never been to 1714 Vermont before, what a cool spot. Very loungey, very chill. I love that it's indoors and outdoors at the same time, the tree growing through the middle pulled everything together. I wonder if I could grow a tree in the middle of my apartment... nah, landlord would freak.

Gotta say thanks to Ms Katie B of course, good times were had by all, except when she brought up the Packer's loss at which point I almost flipped shit. The drinks were so friggen delicious I could lush it up there all day long. Katie, you throw a good party so I forgive the Packer's comments... this time. "There's always next year!" Ugghhhhh....

Great to see the usual Yelp people, always fun meeting the new, thanks to Katie, thanks to Yelp, and definitely thanks to 1714 Vermont. Yes!

When I think about this event, it brings back memories of how lively the place had become. It was filled with noise and chatter about food, places and just all around happiness. I love this little street called Vermont it has so many nice places to come and this event fit the bill.

The drinks were pouring, pictures were being taken and smiles were all around. The Tarintino music was a hit everyone paused add stopped what they were doing to watch it all happening live. :)

If you didn't go upstairs it was filled with a lot of empty tables to sit at and drink and munch on your food. Also a nice cute photo pictures which I hehe had some fun in ;)

Nice night Katie B you are one most loved ladies and you deserve happiness and loads of yelper phrases! Hehe It was a blast can't wait for the next one!

    Let the good times roll...

I had a blast at Badge Fest! Here's some highlights of the night:

    * Meeting old and new friends of course!
    * Beautiful, spacious, multi-story venue at Rockwell VT. I loved the top floor's open air patio. I could look at the stars as I sipped on my cocktail.
    * Absolut vodka drinks; what yummy libations. My favorite was the Wildflower made with Absolut Wild Tea, lemon juice, sugar, sweet n' sour.
    * Project Photobooth photos to take home.
    * Live performances by Show at Barre.
    * New Yelp Swag: red wristwatches!

Many thanks to Yelp and LA CM Katie B for treating elites to a fun night out. Cheers!

Happy New Year!!!  Wow, what an awesome first LA East Elite event of 2012!!!

First and foremost, thank you Katie B. for being the hostess with the most-ess always!!! And it was wonderful as always seeing our other amazing Yelp CMs Hazel Q. and Brittney B. and Christina Y.

The crew at 1714 Vermont were very generous and hospitable hosts for this group of hungry and thirsty Yelpers. The cheese and dessert table was delicious. The chicken wings, lamb lollypops, grilled cheese and flatbread pizza were delectable. Our bartenders were amazing!!! The Absolut vodka drinks were creative and yummy and the bartenders were speedy, efficient, professional, friendly and seriously some of the nicest people on the planet. Thank you so much!!!

The venue was awesomely cool. It was great to hang out with Jim W. and Audrey W. As always, it was nice to see old friends and meet new ones.

    SO. MUCH. FUN.

    Gorgeous venue.

Creative drinks. Absolut Wildflower Cocktail and Grapevine were both Absolut-ly addictive. The Gemini was a bit too spicy for my taste--and this coming from a Gemini. What's up with all these cocktails garnished with jalapenos at yelp events (see: Tinsel Town http://www.yelp.com/bi...)?

LOVE LOVE LOOOVED the performance. Show at Barre is uber awesome. If you missed the event, try to catch one of their other performances.

I loved RockwellVT...what a great place to have a party.  Thanks Katie and crew for putting on yet another amazing event!

    1) Hurray for all those heat lamps that kept me nice and comfy in an outdoor space.
    2) Loved the food, particularly the wings.
    3) Had fun with Richard T. at the Project Photo Booth
    4) Proud that I did not "hurl" into any flat bread plate or resemble a hungry hippo.
    5) That Absolute Gemini had a major kick to it!  My Asian face got beet red in no time.

Apparently, RockwellVT has really good Sunday brunch.  I can't wait to come back and try it out!

Loved the location...super cool vibe and the service was phenomenal. There were so many people, yet no one rushed for the food, made for a super cool event!

The free appetizers were really good...from cheese, fruits and sandwiches to amazing flatbread, beef skewers, wings, sliders and so much more. I loved how one of the servers saw me looking at the food from far and came to me with a full tray of freshly baked flatbread....loved it!

The bartenders were so nice and made amazing drinks. The wildflower was my favorite drink of the night...tasted sooo yummy. Best part of the event was the Barre show....I was impressed! Loved the pulp fiction dances... can't wait to come back here on my own.

Wow what a great way to start a new Yelp Elite year, I actually did not get into this event but good yelp friend Cate T. was nice enough to let me be her +1, thanks Cate.  So the line to get in was not too bad, gave me some time to catch up with some friends. What was cool about the line was when I got to the front of the line, I checked into the event and got a coveted Yelp watch, I thought they only existed in dreams.

The Rockwell was an awesome location for this event, it looked like a kick ass tree house of sorts. Free drinks, saw lots of people double fisting, free shots, free pictures, cool people... yeah definitely a great way to start the Yelp year, thanks Cate for the +1 and thank you Katie B for throwing such a kickass event.

Thank you to 1714 Vermont, Show at Barre, and Vermont Kitchen for conspiring to make us all fans of this place. The service was outstanding, and hopefully none of the appetizer-carrying folks were molested by the Yelpers eager to sample the offerings. I saw lamb chops, some sort of flatbread, and a few other small bites. And thank you to Absolut for sponsoring some delicious drinks last night. I am a huge fan of that Wildflower concoction.

My first elite event and I have to say, I'm pretty darn impressed! I guess you can say I got deflowered by the Sunflower drink.

Free appetizers, loved it all from the wings, to cheese bread, and the lamb chops. I realized how chill and polite all the other yelp elites are (considering how critical we are when it comes to food).

Additionally, the 3 drink choices were interesting. Not a big fan of the jalapeno drink or the grape vine. But the sunflower was bomb (this is coming from the guy who always orders a beer at a bar).

Cool venue as well with great lighting and a warm ambiance (or maybe its just the heating lamp posts). 3 floors. Free photo booths. What more can I expect. A tip of my hat to Katie B and the other people who organized the event.

I guess it is always nerve racking the "first time" but it only gets better with time right? XD

I went to a few Yelp events last year, but by far this has been my favorite. The venue itself is understated, but once you walk into the venue, you're greeted by this beautiful tree with plenty of seating all around - upstairs & down. I really appreciate all the space and being able to walk upstairs and find a seat without feeling overcrowded. I don't want to say it had a romantic vibe to it... but, it kind of did.

Drinks were sponsored by Absolut and they sure provided a kick. The bartender took his time to talk to me and +1, took time to make sure our drinks tasted great and definitely didn't skimp on the alcohol!

The sampler foods I picked up were yummy - sandwiches, tarts, eclairs, and some cookies. But after seeing the long, long line for food I decided to order the pulled pork with sweet potato fries from their menu. Sometimes you need to spend some money at a Yelp event ;)

Sandwich portion was good & PLENTY of fries (overwhelmingly so) for the price (under $13). The staff was also super friendly and kept checking up on my table and made sure all our needs were met.

I also enjoyed the Tarantino action - wowza! They definitely took advantage of the entire venue and made sure everyone had a good view of at least some part of the show.

Enjoyed the project photobooth action as usual - not as long of a crowd and super friendly staff.

Keep it up, Katie B (and other Yelp staff!) ! This event was definitely a great way to start off the new Yelp year :)

It has been my experience that a great evening consist of three important elements

    1) Location
    2) Friends
    3) Food ( for the drinkers booze can fall under this)
    4) please add your own

My first elite event of 2012 involved all the following above and to start the evening off well it started with finding street parking only two walking blocks away. The line was easily visible in the alley and I was oh geez! Luckily since they had great CM's at the door checking people in, the line moved very quickly and I got my yelp watch, but had to show proof on my cellphone first that I had indeed checked in.

Since I'm no newbie to events I have my own personal check lists of things I want to do, and first is to find a table and luck be it, found one by the bar!

Since I wasn't drinking my + 1 hit the bar and tried all the drinks on the menu that evening and liked all of them except for the one with Jalepeno in it.

I've learned by sitting by the bar your most likely to get food and run into most of your current yelp friends and meet new ones, luck be it I did. The location of the table was also great for hearing the show, since I'm elf size even standing I couldn't see the show, but it sounded great.

Since it was close to the end of the evening I knew this would be the time to go and take our pictures with my fellow yelpers. This is where I really got the chance to see the venue space and I really liked the venue layout, especially the tree in the center. I'm a tree hugger so that just made me feel even more comfortable in hipster Los Feliz.

As always Katie B, I bow to you! It takes so much to do your job and I am grateful you actually enjoy it because it does show in your events... here's to you Katie B and 2012

    Well, let's see...

Nibbled on sliders, wings & fruit.
Washed it down with three adult beverage concoctions.
Said cheese with my +1 Chanel D. at the Photo booth.
    Watched a live show.
    Good vibe. Friendly faces.
    Heat lamps o' plenty.
A free pizza due to Yelp check-in of Rockwell VT.
Discovered a rad indoor/outdoor venue I would have otherwise missed.
    Katie B.

    Yeah, it pretty much rocked.

What a great night! An awesome start of the New Year Elite celebration!

A big KUDOS to Katie B. and the gang, You guys did an amazing job getting this event organized! 1714 Vermont/Rockwell did a great job as the generous hosts of the night. Bravo!

The  hors d'oeuvres served was fantastic! A platter full of cheese, fruits, and crackers. The lamb lollipops was flavorful and tender, shrimp skewers has a nice crunch, the steak in a skewer  was tender and juicy! The desserts were a serving of tiny delicious goodness; fruit tart, chocolate cake and eclairs...delish!

The bartenders & Absolut did an absolutely fantastic job in making everyone loosen up and mingle; the concoction of cocktails were flowing like the Niagara, I know I wasn't suppose to mix-n-match all the drinks..but I did anyway :)

It was a great night, my +1 had a great experience too! It's really great seeing everyone again and looking forward to the next event!

Great event to kick off the year of 2012.  Parking was impossible on the streets, so we did the valet as recommended.  Good thing that I actually read the confirmation email, or I would not have found this place.

I got there 10 minutes early, so I was one of the first ones to get in.  Since I just got a new cell phone last night, I was scrambling to turn on my Location Service so that I can utilize the check-in option and get myself a cool Yelp Elite watch.

Awesome venue with great music.  Waiters continuously brought out great appetizers, my favorite is definitely the lamb chop and filet.

Got to sample all 3 Absolute Vodka drinks.  The Gemini was too spicy for my liking, and Grapevine was a little on the sweet side.  My favorite was definitely the Wildflower which reminded me of lemonade.

The Tarantino show sounded great, but I didn't get to see it because there were too many people circling the performance area.  I only got a glimpse of it between people's head.  Nevertheless, great entertainment.

ProjectPhotoBooth was awesome!  Big thanks to the picture printout!  I really loved it!  Oh Yea, I know I have said it before, but I will say it again.  Katie B: You are awesome!  Loved the party and can't wait for the next one!!  I think I have successfully convinced my plus one how awesome Yelp is, hopefully he will start writing some reviews and he can join the Elites soon!

    Oh.. yea... Happy 2012 everyone!

Happy Yelp New Year! What a way to kick off the first Elite event of the year. =D

I have never been to Rockwell VT, so didn't know what to expect. But it was a great location to hold a Yelp Event! I missed the emailed instructions, so actual came through the front restaurant after finding parking on the streets. x_X But I guess that was a good thing because I saw that it was good spot for couples to cozy up together. The live music they had going on after this event was also a bonus.

So after sneaking through the restaurant, the bar area just blew away my expectations. Rockwell VT is like the Tardis, "the interior of a TARDIS is much larger than its exterior"! With multiple levels of bar, waves of Yelpers were accommodated with ease. The area that caught my eye was the rooftop deck where the Yelp Photobooth was set up. I imagine that the deck would be the sweet spot to relax with a drink to watch the sky change with the  sunset, the exposed beams was an interesting architectural accent.

Snacking on fresh fruit and cheese helped mitigate all the other unhealthy samples of cookies, brownies and burger. Kinda on the fence about the grilled cheese with cinnamon bread, it wasn't a bad savory-sweet but didn't know if was something I should eat for breakfast or as a dessert.

Amazing that all the drinks were made by our very own Yelpers, maybe they had bartending experience? =)  Vodka is my favorite liquor so all the drinks were good, but my Absolut fav. was the Absolut Wildflower, it just fit my taste buds perfectly. I'm a big fan of the Absolut Wild Tea flavor but having it preparing with lemon juice, sugar, and sweet n' sour was just pure chemistry, it made the drink not too sweet or "girly". So glad I know all the secret ingredients so I can now try and recreate the magic at home. ;)

A big thanks to our fantastic four: Katie, Brittany, Christina, and Hazel! Look forward to all the future Yelp events for '12. =D

Who would of thought, inside Vermont Restaurant was Rockwell VT, inside Rockwell VT was like a little fairytale land with a big beautiful right smack in the middle of the little 2 story palace! :-)
I drove by the restaurant 4 times before I figured it out where it was, . I would of missed this grand event if I didn't pay attention a bit more. Thank you for taking me in as a plus one!

We missed all the good food except the yummy Chicken Wings and sliders. The Bar was extremely generous on the drinks!

What a treat to see their show at Barr ,Tarantino, a cabaret style performance & ensemble acts with a variety to please almost everyone.  What great entertainment!!

I will definitely come back here. The food seems so yummy! I just loved the ambiance of this place left me. Thinking maybe to even plan a birthday party here for moi! :-)

P.s.~ What a treat, we also got our Elite Yelp Watch!! Yay~~~

    Cheeeeeers to 2012 yelpers!

Had a great time last night at this event. Thanks Katie and the Yelp crew for putting on another great event! I loved Rockwell VT. Perfect venue for an event like this. Loved the upstairs seating area and all the heat lamps that kept me nice and warm all night! :D There's just something about venues with a tree jutting out from inside that gets to me. Loved itttt!

Line for the bar was long for most of the night. That just means us yelpers know how to drankkkk. The wildflower drink was definitely my favorite. I was intrigued by the Gemini but it was way too much for me when I tried it. One glass of it would've floored me!

We had a pretty prime spot upstairs next to the small bar in the corner. Plates of food would randomly come out and the waiters would offer our table. Loved the wings, especially. But I'm bummed I didn't get those sliders. :(

Til next time. See yall at the next event!

Another great event thanks to the stunning Katie B. and the hardworking yelpers.

This event was at 1714 Vermont which is part of a trifecta of wonderful venues (Rockwell VT, Vermont Kitchen and Bar, and Show at  Barre). The fabulous Tyler and I got there at about 7:20 treated our selves to some ice cream at the nearby Paradis and then headed over.

The venue space is a lovely area with an upstairs outdoor seating area (from plush couches to wooden benches), the second floor has a smaller bar where you order through a window, several booths and some table spaces. Downstairs had much of the same but with a longer bar. There was also a free check in offer for Yelp watches so Tyler and I were both able to get one (along with a shot glass each!)

There were several drinks for us Elites to try out tonight. We both sampled the Wildflower (Absolut Wild Tea, lemon juice, sugar, sweet n' sour) which was very sweet but also very delicious. I must admit I had 2 of those. We also sampled the Rockwell Grapevine (Absolut Grapevine, cranberry, pineapple) but I could not really taste the alcohol in mine, neither could a fellow Yelper whose name I am too buzzed to remember. Shame really! Because it was a very nice drink. The bars had some crazy long lines, with some people waiting upwards of 30 minutes a drink - but I guess that was all of us just trying to get our drank on. By the time I made my second trip to the bar Gemini was sold out. Boo! The bartenders were busting their butts though, which was appreciated.

There was a fruit, cheese, and apparently cake table for us "hungry hippos" to sample, unfortunately that line was very long and never really seemed to get shorter so we were not able to sample any of those. Katie wonderfully informed us that there were roving appetizers being carried around but since we were mostly upstairs we were only able to sample 1 piece of shrimp each. This was the real disappointment of the evening as none of these roving stations seemed to make it upstairs.

Project Photobooth was onhand midway through the night to provide us with a memorable keepsake. There were none to print out and take away, as I previously thought but we got 2 photos out of it, so no complaints there.

Show at Barre did an awesome performance as well. I felt kind of dumb trying to watch the bottom half on the stairs only to realize that the stairs became the stage. Sorry if I ruined that for anyone!!

Overall it was a wonderful time. So thanks again Yelp Staff!

But seriously, it was great hanging out with fellow Yelpers Carrie D and Brian D., and of course my wonderful husband, uberyelper Jim W. Katie put on a great event and the venue was rockin'! Oh, and the lamb pops...wow!

    Thanks for the memories.

"Badges! We don't need no stinkin badges!" ... Especially when you are a plus-one to your Elite gf... jk.

I was very impressed with this event from the moment I arrived. The entrance wasn't terribly overcrowded and went fast as the clock struck 7:30. First step for us was a divide-and-conquer tactic to get the best of both worlds (food and drink) as lines were forming. I snagged cocktails for my gf and I, the Gemini and Wildflower, as she packed our plates full of finger sandwiches, cheeses, fruits, cakes, and baked treats. The drinks were great and the food was excellent.

As we enjoyed these Yelp-ish snack and interesting cocktails, the waiters brought hot food around for hor dourves such as garlic lamb chops, fillet Mignon bites with a sweet Chile sauce, and herb flavored shrimps. I took a short bathroom break and returned to find I missed Kobe Beef sliders. Grr. Also, we enjoyed mini flatbread pizza slices in BBQ chicken flavor and garlic chicken. Needless to say, the food was top-knotch and the amounts were restocked immediately.

The Grapevine and winning Vanilla Cole drinks were the low lights of the evening while the rest were soaring high as my favorite Yelp event to date food and drink wise.

Entertainment wise, the Tarantino musical piece was fun. I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't hip-checked by one of the Uma Thurman impersonators who was hellbent on pushing me aside as we crossed paths on the staircase, as I was unintentionally passing and in the spotlight for a half second.

Despite that silly tidbit of weirdness, I would say it was a 5-star event all the way and hope that this event sets the precedent for events to come.

My first Yelp Elite event. I had a blast. The food was good, the venue was nice and the people were great.

They had appetizers served throughout the event and the selections were abundant. Two types of flatbread pizza, lamp chops, sliders, deserts, crackers, cheese, etc...

As for the drinks, they had 4 different kinds. My favorite was the Wildflower one where it tasted like lemonade.

My first thought when I reflected on the event last night was that this was one of the best events I have been and I could make arguments that it may have been the best. I know this sentiment has been echoed in other reviews so my fellow Yelpers feel similarly.

There was just a great vibe about this place. The way it was laid out, the people who attended, the great drinks, the food, the entertainment. It was truly the perfect storm to make the perfect night. I mean, just having the drinks and entertainment alone would have been great enough. Did I mention The Show at Barre was amazing in performing Tarantino performances?! ;)

Thanks Katie for putting this on! Amazing amazing times... Loved it!

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this event! Great way to set the precedent for the year. Katie B. did a great job in planning this event!

Props to Rockwell VT, Show at Barre, and Vermont Kitchen for helping throw such a wonderful event. The venue was very nice and they food was delicious. Although the event was billed as apps and small bites, I left FULL! They were very generous with all their dishes. Plates just kept flying out of the kitchen! I loved the Fillet Mignon Bites, Burger Sliders, and Sandwiches. They also had Lamb Pops, and  Shrimp Skewers. Everything was yummy!

To top it off we were able to wash all the great food with a selection of drinks sponsored by Absolut Vodka! My favorite was the Absolut Wildflower. It was a little fruity, but don't judge. It was yummy.

One of the best things of the night was the show. I was actually quite impressed and the mini Tarantino skits. The performers were very talented! I wish I can sing and dance like that (No Joke!).

As always a Yelp Elite event would not be complete without great people. I brought my friend Sean C., who is now convinced to start participating by writing reviews! It was also great to see CM's Katie B., Hazel Q., and Brittany B. You guys did an awesome job. Thanks for all the work you guys do!
