My Realtor recommended Katheryn at A and N Mortgage to me, and I could not have been more pleased with the experience.
I was a first time home buyer, and Katheryn made the process a thousand times less daunting. She is super sweet and helpful, and she guided me through the entire process so I felt confident and informed every step of the way. She was also excellent at staying in touch and returning phone calls and emails, and I was never left wondering what was next. I ended up getting approved for a great interest rate, which obviously left me even happier with the entire experience.
And she didn't even make fun of me for watching way too much Suze Orman. In fact, after some of the questions I asked she told me, "Suze would be proud." (That's the greatest compliment I've ever gotten in my LIFE.)

As a general rule, I do not like Mortgage brokers. After my experience with A&N, I can say that as a specific rule, that I do love Neena and Kiki (professionally only).
Let's talk general first. I find that there aren't many barriers to entry across the industry. As a result it attracts its fair share of fast talkers, sharks and flakes. Despite this poor cast, I kind of enjoy sparring with them... sort of a guilty pleasure.
Which is why I was surprised that working with Neena and Kiki was a guiltless pleasure.
They are exactly what you want: Knowledgeable, Prompt, Organized & Honest. Neena & Kiki did a refinance of my condo mortgage. Neena understood the market, always returned my calls quickly and didn't try to bully me with used car salesmen-like tactics (if you are a first timer, you'll find many of these types out there).
Overall, they helped me save $400 a month.
What happened next was even more telling of Neena and her character. I approached her on a separate deal, one that could (COULD not WOULD) have been a conflict of interest for her. Neena said "no" to the deal which surprised me in a really good way. It's what separates them from the pack... I was able to do the deal with another broker, no problem, but she was still there advising me on a deal that she wouldn't make a cent on.
I recommend Neena & Kiki to both the novice and the expert. They will find you a competitive deal, treat you with respect and see the deal all the way through. -

A & N is the only morgage banker I will use in Chicago. They are honest, fair and have the customer comes first mentality in mind. They have been so helpful with every issue I have had to deal with.
She also helped my brother with his loan as well and did an amazing job. Neena keeps up on all of the latest rules and knows how to get the job done. if there is a way, she will find it. He was very happy as well.
My first condo, I had tons of question. Neena made sure everything was perfectly organized, so my closing took a minimal time as a result. Since then, I have tried to refinance. She was crazy busy, but still took time out of her busy day to meet with me and go over what made sense for me.
What I mean by she puts the customer first, is that she will be honest and if there is another deal, she will tell you whether she is the best deal or someone else is. I have never experienced this with another morgage banker.
I have dealt with Neena and Kikki now for the past five years, I have sent several friends there who all were very happy with her. -

A & N is simply fantastic. I'm a Realtor in Chicago and am often in the position of having to provide lender referrals to my clients. A & N is at the very top of my list. I've worked with several different mortgage brokers over the years and no one even comes close to A & N's unbeatable combination of industry knowledge and customer service.
Purchasing a home can be a stressful time and I try to make sure that the process is as smooth as possible for my clients. Working with A & N, I never have a doubt that the lending process will be handled effectively and efficiently.
Neena and Kiki at A & N are truly the dream team for Chicago real estate lending. I recommend A & N without hesitation!

Recommended Brad and A&N to a friend whose broker dropped the ball 15 days before the tax credit expired by finally admitting to never having applied to have her condo FHA approved. Although Brad (or any other broker) could not get the building FHA approved in 15 days he was able to work with her to get a convential mortgage done with only 5% down allowing her to make the closing deadline for the 8K credit. She is a very happy camper.
Also as an update to my refinance as I was told was going to happen A&N immediately sold my mortgage to Chase. While I was in the bank branch to set up automatic payments the Chase representative commented on how good my new mortgage terms were saying i probably could not have gotten them if I had gone to them directly. Considering the amount of $$ I am paying interest on to Chase I was very happy to hear that.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Woohoo!
These folks got me an excellent mortgage and went the extra mile to help me get approved for the Chicago City Mortgage, saving me a LOT of money in the process.
Tony Ranft is awesome! I recommend him and this company to anyone who is looking for a mortgage. They take the time to explain everything to you, aren't pushy, and are good at what they do. Quite the opposite from another mortgage company just down the street. :) -

After speaking to a good handful of mortgage specialists, I called A and N and spoke to Neena. She was very informative and most importantly, no BS!...She really takes the time to teach you the process and prepare you. It is obvious that she takes pride in what she does and is trustworthy which is why I will use her services in the future.

I would give a negative star if I could. This was the worst professional relationship I have ever experienced. I found numerous errors on items Brad quoted me as well as my application he drafted. Instead of fixing the mistakes, he actually had the audacity to "raise his voice" to me. If Brad didn't know the answer to a question he would try to skirt around it like a used car salesman instead of just finding the answer from a superior. In fact, I often felt like he didn't know what he was talking about. He fully yelled at me days before closing when he felt threatened or maybe offended by my questions about the HUD statement. It honestly was the most shocking encounter of my professional career. The attorney I hired to represent me ran into numerous problems with Brad. The secretary called me on a number of occasions at her wit's end because of Brad. I caught Brad in a number of lies when he was trying to cover up dropping the ball on my file. The list goes on... Save yourself the drama and worry and go with another company!
