OK, here's the deal. I was rocking-out while playing "BORDERLANDS" when my fat 60GB PS3 closed-down with the dreaded blinking red light of death. The machine would not restart and it would not release my game-disc. I looked-up A & J Games on-line and found them very close by. I took a chance and took my PS3 in for repair. This transpired on a Friday evening. This story has a happy ending b/c A & J Games fixed my machine (for the reasonable price they quoted me) and they turned it around in a couple of days! My PS3 runs great and now I can return to beating the last boss in the final DLC for "BORDERLANDS" (oh yeah!). A & J games has great hours and service and I'm glad I found them. I definitely recommend them for your console repair needs!

Pretty good place. Keep in mind 3 stars out of 5 is still an good rating.
I'm a little surprised with their super high prices. I was interested in a dreamcast, but a nearby shop had it cheaper and ebay even cheaper. The guy was a little annoyed when I started asking about how they price their systems, maybe he thought I was trying to haggle? I was genuinely curious.
I don't mind the clutter, but it is annoying that they don't have a list of set prices for you to look through or prices on the games. You literally have to ask the price of every game you want (at least the retro stuff).
Now the positives.
The selection is awesome! If you want any game, from nes to atari, dreamcast, ps1, master system, they probably have it. If you don't mind paying it definitely seems like get quality stuff.
Also, you'll be supporting a local business. Just wish the owner was friendlier. -

I was just there last Friday right before they closed. This place is amazing with their wide selection of rare hard to find games and collectibles / special edition games. I wish I found out about this place sooner. It would have saved me hundred of hours on searching for those rare collectible games. Also the guy working behind the counter was very polite and helpful in trying to locate what I was looking for. Too bad they didn't have what I wanted so I walked out of there empty handed. But I will definitely check back from time to time because the guy said they normally replenish their supply just about everyday. I'm hoping one day I would come across all those rare gems to complete my PS1/PS2 RPG collection.

My xbox 360 was having issues and I brought it in to get fixed. Turned out to be overheating so the guys got to reheating the solder and fixing it. Cost about $59 and they got it done in about 3 days. They also provide a 30 day guarantee. Been playing MW3 for about a week now and no problems. Great store!

I recently had a problem with my ps3. I started doing research and found A&J Games did repairs. I had previously visited them looking for something else, but couldn't find it anywhere, including there. When I called I asked if they sold the part (I do repairs myself, I work with computers). I needed a fan for a 60GB ps3. I explained that my fan was not spinning, and that my console would shut down after a few moments of being on. The guy on the phone decided to argue with me about the problem and told me that I needed my console reflowed. I reiterated my problem and told him that I was not getting a yellow light (or ylod), but that my console would actually turn on and then shut off after a few moments and tell me that it was shutting down to PREVENT an overheat, and that there was no airflow coming out of the console (which anyone who owns an original ps3 knows that they put out a lot of air and at times the fan is quite loud). The guy insisted that I needed to reflow my console and that they would do it for 100 bucks. I told him I just want the fan, and after an audible show of annoyance from him in the form of an "ugh" he quoted me $50 for a used fan and told me that I could not return it if it didn't work. WOW rude and a ripoff!
I finished searching and found another shop that was quite polite, sold me the part for $5, said I could "call if I had any questions with the repair", and said it would be no problem if the part didn't work. My console now works perfectly, and runs quieter than before (likely due to the arctic silver 5 thermal paste instead of the cheap junk sony uses).
As I said before I had visited A&J prior to this experience. As other reviewers have noted, the place is a MESS!! I've seen more professional looking businesses run out of someone's garage.
The only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of one is because they DO have an impressive selection of old video games, systems, and accessories. However, as someone else also stated, you can find them much cheaper on amazon or ebay. -

I wanted to wait a few months before writing this review. I took my fat ps3 into get repaired for constant and instant overheating rlod. At first I was not happy because after the initial visit and repair my ps3 still overheated and rlod. I took it back in and he trouble shot it until it was fixed at no extra cost. The system works great now and I am happy I repaired instead of replaced it.

I'm guessing it's the same store, just renamed because it's the same address. But, while exploring my hood today I stumbled upon A GAMER'S FACTORY which has this same address so I'm assuming A&J is no more and A Gamer's Factory was constructed in its stead.
Anyway, this place is awesome if you grew up in the 80's and early 90's like me. They gots tons of old video games and systems from Atari to NES to XBox and all the other new stuff.
I felt kind of bad because I could tell the owner was getting a bit annoyed at me because he knew I wasn't gonna buy anything. I just kept walking around pointing out things and being like "whoaaa, I remember that."
But still, if I ever decide to buy an old system in an effort to recapture some of my lost youth then this is where I'll go.
One negative note. The place is dirty and cluttered. It could definitely benefit from a good cleaning. -

I went here looking for a playstation 3 controller. I got a used one. I am not sure it was a good price. it was 30.00 for a used one and 50 for a new one. I would go back for games

My xbox encountered the all too common red ring of death. I was very happy to find that a & j did repairs and they were very close to me. I called for a quote and they said 70 bucks which seemed rather high. I figured it wouldn't hurt to see what the going rate was at other places. I found individuals on craigslist that would fix it for 30-40 bucks and other repair stores quoted me 50. Just because a&j was so close, I decided to give them another chance. After explaining the much cheaper quotes I received, the owner very reluctantly agreed to fix it for 50. After heading over, the owner gave me a speech about why he charges more because he flows the motherboard......I don't really care, just fix my xbox. Two hours later, I get a call that they were unable to fix my xbox. Then he had the audacity to try and charge me 10 bucks anyway. When I asked him why I was getting charged for something that he couldn't fix, he said it was because they went through the trouble of opening it. I replied that I could open it myself without paying 10 bucks......he just gave me the xbox back and I left.
Oh, and I saw a bunch of old n64 systems he had in the store. I asked him how much and he said 49 bucks. Any quick search on eBay will show u how much of a rip off this store is, I know he needs to make a living, but screwing over your customers is not good business, -

so plain and simple: great place to go if you wanna relive some of your childhood memories by playing some old school games.they are filled with n64 stuff, NES, gameboy, sega and basically every other system. the owner's son was the one who helped us. he was really friendly and didnt mind all the questions we were asking him. only thing thats keeping me from giving this 5 stars is the mess. could really use a nice cleaning. other than that this place is legit.
