Regrettably, the past year was not too kind to my beloved Honda. Whether I was commuting to work or simply kept the car parked outside, accidents were always hot on my heels, or should I say 'my wheels'? The worst among them occurred when an unsuspecting woman tried to illegally cross Lincoln Way near 18th Ave in the middle of rush hour traffic. I had to swerve to my left to avoid hitting her, violently slamming my rocker panel against the traffic island as I sped away to avoid colliding with oncoming traffic.
The protruding cement left a huge concavity in the underbelly of my car, leaving it in a drivable, albeit very grotesque condition. I was under no illusions: the damage to my car was severe, and the repair bill could potentially run into the thousands. Worse still, I would have to pay for it out of pocket, due to a lack in my policy coverage.
This is where A & G Auto Body came to my rescue. Oleg, the shop's owner, was the only one who was willing to undertake a complicated procedure, whereby the damaged part would have to be hammered back into shape BY HAND and then remolded using putty! This, alone, helped shave more than a thousand dollars off my repair bill!
As I've stated earlier, I had other damage on my car. The passenger side door had a deep elongated dent that DentPro techs could not repair using their tools, and no shop in SF was willing to touch for less than a $1000. To top it off, my right fender was badly damaged and the front bumper had to be replaced. To help put everything into perspective, at least a third of my car had to be repainted, and I'm very glad to say that Oleg was completely up to the challenge.
As often happens, there is more to the story than meets the eye. During the process of the repairs, it was revealed that the previous body shop had used glue under the hood instead of replacing the hood bracket as the job had called for. I was stunned: Oleg not only caught this atrocity, but replaced the part for free!!! If that's not going the extra mile for your customer, I don't know what is.
In an industry wrought with shoddy workmanship, A & G Autobody stands head and shoulders above the competition. Not only was the job completed well ahead of schedule, the car looks better than I would have ever imagined -- all for a fraction of the cost! The gleaming reviews on Yelp are entirely well-deserved. If you ever end up needing body work on your automobile, I would unhesitatingly suggest A & G Autobody as a clear alternative to all your repair needs. -

Quick! What are the first three things that comes to mind when you are thinking of a place to have your car repaired? Honest, reliable, reasonable rates??? A&G are all of these things and more! There is a reason why they get 5 stars on 99% of their reviews ...THEY ARE AWESOME. Oleg and his team are incredible and took such great care of our car! I cannot say thank you enough. As a busy mom, the last thing I need is to mess around with auto body shops and leaving my car...A & G made this an incredibly painless process.

After returning home from a relaxing weekend in Sonoma I found my car window had been smashed in and 75 cents had been stolen from my cup holder. Hopefully those quarters went to good use. My car had literally been parked right across the street from A&G... I live just down the block from the shop. It was an obvious choice where to take my car, but my paranoid brain immediately told me that this was a setup - my car had been broken into just so that I would take it to A&G. It just seemed too convenient to be true.
Obviously, there was no conspiracy. Maybe I should stop reading the news. I took my car into Oleg right away and he assured me that the car would be ready the next day. I didn't believe him, but sure enough, 24 hours later I get a call saying it's ready. When I came in my car was spotless (the thing hadn't been washed for 3 months), all the glass was cleaned out, and the interior was detailed - free of charge. He gave me a discount on the labor since I was a neighborhood local - YES.
All in all I don't think 5 stars really sums up how pleasant of an exchange this became. Oleg is a cool, funny dude and he obviously knows how to please his customers. I'm so glad that business like this exist. -

After realizing someone had swiped my passenger-side bumper and fender, I had a mild panic attack. My huge $1000 deductible is because I'm such a safe driver, but after moving to SF I realized I need to lower it because of the hit-and-runs.
I surfed Yelp and decided to get a quote at A&G. I met Oleg (and Vida-Dog! Sweetest shop puppy ever : ) and right away I felt comfortable with his assessment. My eyes nearly fell out of my head when I saw his estimate, but he also explained the work and mentioned a discount on my deductible.
After my parts shipped, I put a time-crunch on him and the boys and they completed the work with time to spare. He ended up repairing a part that my insurance company included in their estimate, saving me $300. He even came to the shop during off-hours to hand over the key.
Trustworthy, timely and personable. Won't take my vehicle anywhere else. -

Dealing with cars terrifies me. I have had some nerve-wracking experiences getting those things fixed, and have felt hopeless of ever finding a shop that I trusted. Dramatic, I know...
Enter Oleg and A and G Autobody. I've been there twice now, and both times have been completely stress-free. They are very customer-oriented, and I always felt like I was being spoken to like a real-live person. They dealt with all the insurance matters, and all I had to do was drop it off and pick it up.

I was involved in an accident and the only damage was my front bumper which had to be replaced. I went into A & G cause I live in the 'hood. I was pleasently suprised with A & G. They gave me an excellent price ( I paid out of pocket cause it was cheaper than my deductible), was able to order the bumper within 1 day, got it painted the next day. I brought my car in at 1PM on the day after they painted the bumper and......THE CAR WAS FINISHED 3 HOURS LATER!!! The bumper is like new. They did an awesome job and I was without my car for only 3 hours!! Go see A & G for your repairs. They are a small "mom and pop" type of place the type of business which we should always support. They take good care of their customers!

Nothing caps off a truly terrible day like a good car accident.
I rear-ended someone on Oak St during evening rush hour and the front end of my Subaru Forester crumpled like an accordion. It was awesome.
What made it even more awesome was that I had to pay for it out of pocket. Oleg at A and G was truly great about everything. He went above and beyond to keep costs down for me and my car looks like new.

Great service. Oleg explained everything clearly. He was also happy that I'm a neighbor. And he's very well aware of Yelp and the extra business Yelp brings him via good reviews. Which is great, cuz I get the feeling he makes double-sure that he treats us all very well so that we can continue writing good reviews.
I brought my Solara in and he loved the car. Told me that those things sell well and maintain a good price, etc. Awesome!
At the beginning of the week he told me my car would be done by Friday. Late in the week he said he'd need 'til Saturday cuz the car part he ordered came in late. I actually didn't care, I didn't need it anyway. Lo and behold, he calls me Friday morning and says he's got it done, like he promised before. Awesome!
Price is reasonable, I didn't shop around but then again, his is the only place within walking distance to my apartment. If anything else happens to my car, I'll bring it on back to him.

I'm a good driver but a lousy parker. My parking foibles have led to a number of dings and scratches on numerous poles, walls, and vehicles throughout our fair state.
I used to drive crappy old vehicles, so I really didn't care when I dinged up my car. But my current car is the first one I ever got brand-new. So, when I was still living in the East Bay I thought I had enough clearance to pull out of my (street) parking place. Instead, I managed to scrape a good portion of the passenger side of my car, and screwed up my neighbors' bumper in the process.
I informed my neighbors of the transgression and told them that I would take care of it out of my pocket, and even gave them my new phone number (I was in the process of moving), but I never heard from them. So no loss of money or karma.
I moved to the Haight/Panhandle area, and Oleg's shop was the closest one. Plus it had a couple of favorable yelp reviews. Oleg was was friendly, funny, and helpful. I told him that I wanted to pay out of pocket and we went over a number of corners that he could cut to bring the price down, but still make my car look good to the naked eye. In the end, he did a great job at a reasonable price.
He also suggested that I get a darker car next time (I have a silver one), since it's easier to blend the color.
By the end, I felt that I'd ripped Oleg off, which made me feel bad, but it was about time that someone got a good deal where auto repair was concerned. If my car ever gets messed up by someone else, I would gladly let Oleg have a field-day billing the other person's insurer. -

I haven't actually taken my car here, but I had a conversation with Oleg that blew my mind, considering he had already told me that he probably wasn't the best person to help me with what I need. Yeah, I know... amazing.
Long story short: everywhere is booked because its before a holiday weekend. One place that was booked referred me to another, but their rating here isn't that great so I kept looking. Without realizing that A & G is mostly a body shop, I called. Oleg told me that they were a body shop but that he thinks I should call Alouis. I told him about their rating here, and he sounded genuinely surprised, that he's known the guy forever and assures me that he does quality work at reasonable prices. I figure if two places with pretty much 5-star ratings are both telling me to go there, I should. I thank him and he tells me to call him if I have any problems... wha?!
Also, the fact that these three places are literally within blocks of each other and support and refer to each other says a lot about their integrity and respect for one another.
If the day ever does come that I "accidentally" run over a cyclist who thinks their above the rules of the road, I will be taking my car here without a doubt. -

I brought my car here because my window got bashed in and a screwdriver was jammed in my door from a break in. They went over to BMW that morning to get the part, fixed it up and cleaned out my car for me for no additional charge.
The guys at this shop were friendly and laid back but did the job quickly and efficiently for a good price, keeping me informed every step of the way and making sure my service was as convenient as possible. I will definitely return for service and 100% recommend these guys. -

I was sideswiped a few months back and on the recommendation of Carlos (of Car-Los Auto Service who I would trust with my chlidren), I took it to A & G. They did a fantastic job at a reasonable price. Oleg kept me up to date on where we were and they even finished up a day ahead of time.

I do not know how the place would get a 5 stars. I just came back to from this place to get an estimate. Driving up and around their dim lighted driveway was difficult enough but then to have told me that the guy isn't around and can write an estimate for another half hour.
What a waste of my time! -

Parking garages are treacherous terrain, and my car happened to be a casualty. Some brilliant, kind, thoughtful person runs into the backdoor of my Honda Fit. No note. I walk out to see my little chico scarred. Keep in mind I've only had this baby for a month.
After much shopping (and yelp review reading), I found Oleg at A & G. He knew that I was paying for this out of pocket, and was quite respectful about said working girl's budget. One week later, and my car is looking back to normal. Does it suck that I had to pay to get my car to look the way it did when I bought it? Yes. But at least there are folks like Oleg at A & G who can make the experience as painless as possible. Good for you. -

I have nothing but good things to say about A&G; I didn't meet anyone but Oleg, but he did a fantastic job representing the team. He was very patient and gave me a great explanation of the insurance process and what he was going to do to fix my car (some nice lady decided to back her moving truck into it!). Anyway, he did a fabulous job - the car looks great, finished a day ahead of schedule and has been super nice!
Not that I'm hoping to have to come back, but should the circumstances call for a bodyshop... A&G is going to be my first stop! -

My car got keyed a while back and I finally decided to get it fixed. I went to yelp to find A&G as the highest rated so I took my car over there for an estimate. I cautiously walked up to the second floor to find Oleg and told him what happened. Hey was very friendly and helpful and told me exactly how everything was going to go. He told me how much the work would cost and because of the cost that I would want to go through my insurance. He detailed the process and even made casual conversation with me as they wrote up the estimate. I ended up dropping off the car the next Monday and picked up on Friday as good as new.
The whole process was very hassle free. I never felt like I was getting taken advantage of as I usually do when dealing with stuff about my car. It was a very pleasant experience overall (other than the fact my car got keyed). -

I got hit for the second time by a seemingly blind left-turner, and needed a new right front fender. But both bumpers on my car were pretty dinged up from 5 years of city life, so I took my car to A&G see if they could do better than the dealer body shop where I got my first quote. A&G is walking distance from my place, which is a bonus.
Oleg was very low key and approachable. He made me feel comfortable. I had gotten an estimate from the dealer body shop, and he said he could do the front AND rear bumper, as well as replace the fender, all for the same price the other shop quoted me.
They did a great job, all on time. My car looks like it's been in the suburbs for the five years of its life instead of on the streets of SF, and I got to pocket the rental car money that was part of my settlement. Sometimes accidents can have positive consequences! -

I can't say enough good things about Oleg and the crew. My car had some dents and scratches on the bumper as well as a major ding in my side door and they took care of it all and made it look brand spanking new. I would highly recommend their service as they will work with the insurance and make the whole process seamless.

The owner was such a down to earth guy. He was really invested in teaching me about what was going on with my car. I wasn't able to use his services, after he spent lots of time giving me a really helpful estimate. I unfortunately had to go with a place my insurance company had a partnership with. I was so sad to give my business to someone else.

A great auto body shop in the upstairs of an old mechanics' shop right in the heart of the North Panhandle area on McAllister. Oleg does great work and will quote you a fair and reasonable price. A real convenience in this neighborhood if you need work done because there aren't any other auto body shops around here.

I'm not one to write reviews on yelp, but given my experience with Oleg and A&G, I feel compelled to write one. I got rear ended and was handling it outside of insurance to help out the person who hit me. Oleg was very understanding of the situation and extremely helpful and even provided a discount to help out. I had gotten a few estimates from other places that were mind boggingly inflated. The whole experience kinda pissed me off in dealing with auto body shops, but my experience with Oleg convinced me that there are honest people who care about building customers and not trying to extract as much as possible from a single transaction. The quality of the work was excellent and the they fixed it in a couple of days. If I ever have to deal with auto body stuff again, I will definitely be back to A&G.

I recently took my car over to A&G to get my back bumper and spoiler fixed and was impressed by how helpful Oleg (the Owner/Manager) and his crew were. Not only did they do a great and seamless job in fixing my car, Oleg respects his customers and gives you a detailed explanation of what should be fixed and what areas he can save you alot of money in!
Out of all the places I have gone to in the past, A&G is EASLY the best one. If you want quality work and the most honest crew you will ever meet, then call Oleg! -

After getting 2 other estimates for replacing my rear bumper after an accident, I went with A and G, as they were willing to beat any other deal I got. I noticed that the paint color of the new bumper was slightly darker than the rest of my car, but was willing to deal with it since I got such a great price. A few months later, the paint on the bumper started to peel off. The bumper is now only half covered with paint. It looks awful. A&G wont' replace it, claims it's my fault- that I must have hit something which caused the paint to peel. Seems like bunk to me, since I've hit a great many things with my front bumper which originally came with the car, which hasn't peeled at all. I'd suggest spending a bit more and going with a more reliable place.

Can't say I've heard of someone in SF getting their car broken into for the car stereo before, but it happened to me recently. Took a crowbar and just yanked the top of the door out until they could reach in and unlock it.
I tried pushing it back in myself, and was partially successful, but I figured the crew at A&G would have some other tricks. Well, I went to ask Oleg, and he went over to the car, had me roll down the window (that's the trick, apparently), and yanked the door back into place. I felt kinda bad because he seemed a bit frustrated -- he was trying to make his way to the bathroom! But he fixed it right there, no charge.
So there you have it. They could have had me bring the car in (I kept offering), charged me whatever there minimum was, and made a killing off of virtually no work, but instead he stopped on his way to the bathroom and fixed it free of charge.

A&G Auto Body is amazing, and Oleg is such a great help! I brought my 98 Saturn there after a particular nasty front end collision, and Oleg did everything he could to keep my baby from being totaled. He was sweet, professional, and really went out of his way to help me. My car was in the shop for less than a week before I got the call that my baby had been repaired- I couldn't believe it! She looked brand new- better than before the collision. Oleg helped me install the decals and the license plate, and then fixed my faulty glove compartment which always loves to spring open at inopportune moments! All this great service, and I even received a discount. I couldn't speak more highly about A&G Autobody, and Oleg in particular. I would recommend this shop to anyone!

Incredible Autobody Experience
Oleg and his staff came highly recommended via my tire guy after my 745i was sideswipped a few months ago. After obtaining bids from competitors, I visited Oleg last week and was blown away by his honesty, knowledge and professionalism. My body work was completed in four days and Oleg even allowed me to make payments via a payment plan. Not only was the work incredible, but my car actually looks better than when I purchased a year ago, and Oleg completed the work for half of what others were charging. Before anyone signs on with a competitor, please give Oleg a call for a competitive bid. I would recommend Oleg and his staff to anyone searching for body work in San Francisco or if you just have an automobile question. -

I've gone here and worked with Oleg twice, and each time I was impressed with his frankness and honesty. The first time I wanted to get rid of scratches, knicks, and small dents in my car before selling it. He talked me out of spending a ton of money and tried to get me the best value by rebuffing the paint for only $300. I recently came in with a paint scratch from a parking structure incident, and he was able to get it looking almost perfect for $50 while the alternative to repaint it would be will over $500. I highly recommend this place. My experience wtih smaller, cash transactions has been very positive.

I needed to address a few things while selling my beloved Acura. I found A&G in the heart of SF near GG Park. I stopped by for an inspection with Oleg and he gave me really great and fair advice on what things might be worth fixing and which ones were not. I decided to take his advice and I left the car knowing it was in honest hand. I ordered some parts from the dealer and Oleg was super kind to arrange the transfer to his shop and he did the installation at a much better rate than the dealer. He also fixed the rear bumper which had all those nasty parking scars. After visiting A&G, the car looked new again, and at a really reasonable rate. If I have any more body repair needs, this is the place to go as I know I will get a fair treatment and the work will be done as promised. Highly recommended experience. You can walk conveniently to the Starbucks on Masonic and Fulton and catch a bus there home after you drop off the car. Many thanks to kind Oleg.

I drove around today looking for a miracle. My SUV's roof was stuck and off it's track on one side so it wouldn't close. I went to three places before taking it to A & G. One place told me to take it to the dealership (it's a big job), another told me he needed to order parts for $800 and another actually tried to slide it in without taking it apart. Mind you, I'm one of many who's laid off from work and exhausted from interviews and rejection. I was feeling pretty bad having to dish out money not in my budget. I went to A & G Autobody. I was impressed with how fast they acknowledged me when I walked in. The guys were busy working on other cars. The office manager came out promptly. He found a tech to see if he could push my roof in place. I asked how long it would take? He told me he will give him 5 mins to fix it. after 5 min the office manager went over to see and started helping the tech take the roof apart to find the issue. He came back to tell me the cable was broken on one side and I explained I couldn't afford a repair. I just wanted the top closed in the down position and I didn't mind if I ever used it again. I needed my car for job searching and didn't want it stolen because the roof was opened. A & G did the job for almost nothing in only 30 minutes. I had to tell you these guys are compassionate, friendly and efficient. I will definitely use them again in the future and I highly recommend them too.

What a relief finding this shop and the people who work it! The rear bumper of my Honda Civic was smashed in a hit and run. Beyond the scary experience, I had to cough up the moneys for the repairs. Oleg was very sympathetic to this situation and suggested various ways of keeping down cost without jeopardizing safety and appearance. Before committing to A&G, I checked out another highly recommended place. Cost there would have been over $400 more than Oleg's estimate. Needless to say I went with Oleg. They did a great job; and the car looks like new. They even threw in a wash; which makes the car look so good as to make me suspect they waxed it, too! All in all, a very good experience .

These guys are honest hardworking people. Don't let the appearance fool you, they do fantastic work. They couldn't be nice and more down to Earth. A & G will give you a free estimate on your car and give you a very realistic timeline of when they will get all the work done. They will leave you car looking brand new. They cleaned my interior for free. I didn't think my payment through and had to switch some funds around. The were completely cool and let me take my car and pay a week later. Plus they gave me the locals discount. They hooked it up and I would recommend them to my Grandmother.
