Once upon a time, I met this beautiful Canadian girl. We fell in love and when it became time for me to propose, I decided that I would like to buy her an engagement ring with a Canadian diamond. Living in Bloomington, I first tried to buy locally and worked with some wonderful people at Jack Lewis, but was unable to find a Canadian diamond. I had heard about Dimend Scaasi through the grapevine and when I saw the great reviews on Yelp I decided to check it out. I went online and found that they have a great website. I was able to chat with a real sales representative online. I told her about what I was looking for and she immediately began searching for Canadian diamonds and was able to locate 2 in New York. She was able to have them flown to Chicago so that she could show them to me via video streaming! I thought that was pretty cool technology, but I was not prepared to make such a large purchase having never actually seen the diamonds or settings in person. They were able to hold the diamonds for a couple days so that I could drive up to the big city and see them in person.
The store is small but has a large selection of settings and they are able to work with you if you have design ideas. Shannon was great to help me through my decision and Isaac was wonderful as well. Shannon had some good suggestions and often recommended the cheaper option, which I thought was nice. They are very laid back and I would certainly recommend Dimend Scaasi to anyone hunting for an engagement ring.

never having bought a diamond before, the process was quite daunting. However, Shannon & the rest of the staff at Dimend SCAASI made my experience much easier. Since I found them through City Search/Yelp, I feel obligated to add to their praise
Shannon took plenty of time to show me the subtle differences in the diamond grades and inclusions, etc. I had read about diamonds prior to coming in, but that had only confused me more. I had a much better visit with Shannon then with her/their competitors & didn't feel pressured at all
Further, my finacee had once shown me a style that she liked, which they did not have. Shannon was able to have the ring made to my specifications - and it far exceeded my expectations and got done in my timetable
When I proposed, through the tears, my fiancee exclaimed, "This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!", a phrase she has repeated many times since
I would use them again without hesitation
After reading rave reviews of Dimend Scaasi, I stopped in to talk engagement rings. Shannon helped me and over the course of the visit, I realized that she was AMAZING! She said to me, "I don't want you to buy anything today -- I just want you to understand everything first and answer all your questions." Talk about a great no-pressure approach! She sat with me for more than two hours, walking me through every detail of what makes a great diamond. I told her my budget and she NEVER pressured me to go beyond or even close to that number. In fact, at times, I said to her, "My friend said I should spend more money on the ring. Maybe I should." She assured me by saying, "You don't need to do that - you can get a great ring AND stay within your budget." She was right -- a few weeks later, I bought the ring and my future bride LOVES it! At parties, people complement her like crazy -- it's a beautiful ring that has an incredible sparkle! Why go to a place like Tiffany's when you can get the personal, no-pressure approach from someone like Shannon? But now I have a new problem: every time my bride comes into Dimend Scaasi for a free cleaning, she wants to buy everything in the store!
As a younger guy (23), I was pretty intimidated by the whole process of buying an engagement ring. I wanted to surprise my (now) fiancee, but when I realized it would be safer to pick out the diamond myself and then let her pick the setting I did some looking around and decided to try out a few Jeweler's Row places. I ended up going with a diamond from dimend SCAASI and my fiancee (and everyone else who has seen it) absolutely LOVES it.
The thing that really helped me make my decision was the help that Alexa, at dimend SCAASI, provided. Some of the other places I looked at seemed pretty skeptical of me by the fact that I was not referred to them by anyone except the internet. Also, as I mentioned, I was pretty intimidated so I actually started talking to Alexa using the online chat dimend SCAASI offers on their website. I thought this really helped me get comfortable and explain what I wanted without being cut-off or worry about being sold something else. All of my appointments were setup for a Saturday, so I went in there was no one else there except Alexa and she was pretty casual. She had pulled three or four great diamonds (all of which were in or below the price range I had given her) and was perfectly willing to give her opinion when I asked, but didn't try to push any agenda. She was really great and when I am really looking forward to taking my fiancee in in a couple weeks and picking out the setting!
Finally, I want to comment on another review that mentioned the store is pretty minimalistic. I thought this had by far the nicest/cleanest show rooms of any place I saw in Jeweler's Row. They also had a microscope hooked up to a computer screen that they showed me each diamond under. While I am not pretending to have a trained eye, this was definitely better than watching a jeweler look through a handheld one and try to tell me things were or were not present.
This all provided a great experience!

definitely can't recommend this place highly enough - i'd send any friend or family member there looking for an engagement ring. they remove the stress from the situation and make it a very enjoyable experience. we also returned there to buy our wedding bands; having shopped around a bunch of places before, i can say that this place is the best, which is obvious from the moment you walk in.
they also know how to work with your budget and style; in fact, when i called to set-up an appointment, i described what i thought my fiance would want, and they sent images to me ahead of time. the very first ring they emailed me pictures of ended up being the one that i bought and which my now-wife loves.
Thanks to Yelp, back when I lived in Boston I had a wonderful series of dates with a certain wonderful woman. So when I persuaded her to move to Chicago, and it came time to go ring shopping for her, I once again turned to Yelp. DS is so cool! Great quality and excellent design. You can go online and find a bigger diamond for your money, sure, but a well-designed ring from DS will be oh-so-much prettier. Staff is great, and I will certainly keep them in mind for future jewelry needs. While Isaac knows his stuff, my thanks especially goes out to Shannon, who helped me pick out the perfect ring.

Wonderful service, kind and understanding of the type of purchase a diamond ring is for most of us - important and intimidating. We worked with Alexa and Shannon, and both were wonderful. The ring was part of the English collection and took a long time to come in - they said 4 - 6 weeks but it turned out to be somewhere between 7 - 8. However, the ring is stunning and perfect, and I highly recommend this small, elegant jeweler for amazing quality and service.

Isaac and his staff are amazing! They really took their time to educate us and walk us through the process of selecting a setting and diamond. People often stop me on the street to ask for a closer look at my ring, it is an absolute stunner. We appreciated the combination of great value and wonderful service, and the selection and quality of jewelry is unparalleled.
When the time came to select our wedding bands I simply could not make up my mind. We went to the store twice and spent two long sessions looking through the options before I finally made my decision. Isaac was incredibly patient and we found the perfect match. I would recommend Dimend Scaasi to anyone and everyone!

My fiance and I went together and picked out my engagement ring. We could not have picked a better place. My ring is absolutely amazing!! They had a great selection of reasonably priced cushion diamonds. We created the perfect ring in two short visits. This place really goes above and beyond, the ring wasn't ready when we were leaving for vacation so Shannon shipped it to our destination so my fianc could propose on our trip. She's fantastic! Isaac was great too; he even gave us a jewelry steamer for free! Every positive review you read is 100% true. I don't think we could have gotten any luckier. Great people to do business with!

After reading several reviews I decided to try this place for an engagement ring. Keeping this short: This place was great. When I walked in the door they greeted me warmly, and were very attentive. Alexa was my salesperson and she made everything very easy. Oh yeah, and my fiance loved the ring.
Definitely consider this place.

Dimend Scaasi is the best jeweler in Chicago. Issac is great and his staff is very knowledgeable and caring. Their prices are right on target too, you get fantastic quality and custom design that's affordable. I purchased my engagement ring here and they helped me every step of the way, I'm so glad I went to them instead of just any jewelry store I found on the street. You cannot go wrong with Dimend Scaasi!

I had a great experience at Dimend Scaasi. It's a really relaxed, low key jeweler and they were very helpful. I worked with Marta mostly, and she helped me get a spectacular engagement ring.
The prices are very competitive and they stock nothing but the highest quality, conflict-free diamonds.
I was very impressed, and appreciative of the relaxed experience here - it takes away a lot of the stress of the occasion!

This place got best-of in Citysearch, but surprisingly didn't have any Yelp reviews, so I figured I would pimp it on this site.
I moved here right after getting engaged and needed to find a wedding band. Without any solid referrals, I went to the Internet and turned to CitySearch where this business had an astounding 9.9 rating with rave reviews.
The space is minimalist, kind of unexpected at its seemingly rundown 5 S Wabash address.
The ring selection isn't as vast as what I have seen in some other places, but most everything is really tasteful and competitively priced.
What really sets it apart is their customer service. They went to great lengths to secure internet out-of-state shipping(no tax ) and when I got a ring that was slightly different than what I had ordered, they swapped the two out at the same price, despite a $300 price differential- and placed a rush on the replacement ring.
I worked with Alexa and she is great. My advice is to make sure that the ring model number is accurate before you order, many look very similar and it is easy to confuse their model numbers.
