Awesome. I recommend everything I tried which was: the ceviche, the chicken quesadilla, the chicken wings - and the beef special.
Yes, I'm still full. and no, i didn't eat ALL of that. I just "sampled." Ok, Alot.
Very good food - and we actually ate it next door at the Valley Tavern. Such a fun mix of a neighborhood bar and incredible food. Give it a try!
Delicious!
Had the special pork tamales, plantains, and spinach. Two of us split this and it was more than enough food, and all some of the best I've had in a while.
Am excited to go back and try more, and will definitely add it to the list as one to bring out of towners to.

i came to Mi Lindo Yucatan on a dinner break form work not wanting to spend alot of cash, so was a little disappointed by the double-digit prices of their food plates. however, i ordered one of their 'appetizers' which was a talapia fish taco with cherry tomato salsa, avo and cilantro. after all their delicious chips n salsa (two kinds- both awesome) that taco filled me right up. and it was so ridiculously good, it was like they had just slid that piece of fish off a skewer from the a sunny backyard bbq. it tasted like a summer friggin day, especially after squeezing some lime over it and dousing it with that hot green salsa.
i can't wait to go back for more, honestly, i'll prob go on my break again tomorrow. no joke.
Get the nachos.
Yes..it's ridiculously cliche to go to a Latin restaurant and get nachos but just do it, dammit!
They were hella good....oh, yeah...I said hella.

In the midst of Stroller Valley lies a great spot to indulge in Mayan inspired cuisine. Eat in, and you'll notice their cute decor and quickly be treated to wholesome food at this family run establishment.
Everything I sampled was excellent, from the chips and salsa, to the veggie tamale and the rice. Best of all, their fried plantains reminded me of home. I was easily full off the side dishes, which also seemed to be a better deal than getting a full entree. Vegetarians have few offerings (vegans, even less), but what little they do have is so tasty, it doesn't leave you craving much else, anyway.
I was fortunate enough to not encounter the less than cordial service that many have spoken of--the staff seemed pleasant enough, and there was little wait to be served.
I'll be back in a heartbeat.

They make the best chili relleno so if you ever see it on the menu GET IT!!!
BEWARE OF THE STROLLERS!!!!
I will admit, sometimes the service won't overwhelm you with attention, scoop you up into their arms and service your every whim.
But who cares? Salsa is delish. Chips above average. The appetizer selection is amazing -- I mean, a tamale with egg, spinach, tomatoes and pumpkin seed? Effin amazing, who knew? They have pork down to a science, and can weave delectable dishes out of a coupla different kinds of beans. Great for a date.
This is not a Mexican place. It's Mayan. Think pre-1492, honky. So don't come here for enchiladas and margaritas. Take a deep breath and stay in the Marina if that's your poison.

It might be that Mi Lindo Yucatan received the residual effects of a low-maintanence Sunday and unshakably beautiful weather. But I liked it. And I definitely have an idea of what I'll be ordering upon my return.
I arrived with a party of three around 5pm on Sunday. It was pretty slow. The place seemed dim lit for such a beautiful day, but the decor was bright and cheerful.
We sat down and ate through three plates of chips (crispy and not greasy), having to ask for another 10-chip serving after each. It was as though they were precious gems or something. Be conscious of the green salsa which burns.
The menu was extensive with a good balance between meat and vegetarian options. Probably more exciting for a meat-eater as many of the soups had meat in them. But I was glad that the vegetarian options were blatantly labeled "veggie ...." or "vegetarian..."
We started with the fried plantains which were served nicely. It was one plantain cut into four pieces so if you're looking for a big serving, this is not the one.
Between the four of us, we ordered: the vegetarian chile rellenos, the shrimp fajita platter, and the vegetarian tostada. All looked and tasted wonderful. The chile relleno was stuffed with veggies (not a lot of cheese) and was covered in a creamy garlic sauce, served with a side of rice. The shrimp platter came out sizzling hot and had big portions of rice and beans. The tostada was all that a tostada should be with a mountain of lettuce and black beans and cheese and tomatoes and avocado, etc etc. We all left very satisfied, only $53 less rich.
The waitstaff was... a staff.
I'd go back. Maybe try the veggie tamalas. And next time, I'd make sure to mention I'll be needing more chips than what they're accustomed to doling out.

Oh hell yes!
First of all this place is so cute and small and brightly colored! Plus, they were playing techno music!!!! I was expecting some pan music- but gotta love the Alice DJ remix circa 1996.
Anywho- the food was out of control! I got pan fried tilapia with Mexican rice and black beans. The rice was seasoned so well! The fish was soft and delicate. I must say- I left feeling incredibly full and happy. This place is the bomb!
I wasn't totally thrilled with this place. Just wanted to show a friend Noe Valley on the last day of her visit and she had a craving for Mexican. So here we were. I think she really liked her chile relleno and our appetizer was deliciously cheesy and friend (mexican wonton? really?). But the rest of the food was just so-so. Not sure if I would come here again. I'd rather try some other places in Noe Valley if I'm gonna trek all the way there.
There's a lot to be said for feeling welcome in a restaurant. Read on if you agree.
On the food front, this is a 5-star place. Tasty chips, deliciously fresh guacamole, unique preparations, subtle (yet stellar) moles, and great selection of traditional favorites, too.
The turkey tamales were delicious - served in a very gentle mole with cranberries and grilled squash - it was like Thanksgiving, but in February! I didn't even make the connection between the ingredients until the dish appeared in front of me.
But the service. Ugh. I feel like we kept someone there too late (even though we left by 9:00 pm). After we'd finished our meal (but before the check was presented), we were asked if we'd like anything else. My water glass empty, I said "More water would be great." The server's face fell completely, like I had ruined the evening because I didn't say "No thank you, just the check." This was pretty much the finishing touch on what can best be described as icy (yet efficient! - I'm an optimist) service.
I want to go back, but I feel like I'd be putting them out. Props to the other Yelpers who've felt welcomed here, but I just don't.

I've been here twice and I will definitely go back. This is a great little place with lots of personality and great food!
The service is gracious (except that we had to ask for extra chips like 5 times. Don't make them so well if you don't want us to inhale them!). I've had the veggie tamales, tostada and a few other things.
Oh! They have Mexican Coke in a bottle. Love it.

I have high expectations for SF Mex. Sadly, I kind of thought this place was overrated. (Maybe the dive tamale place in LA skewed my expectations.) The pork dish I had was only so-so - remarkably tender, but the sauce was one-note and overly tomatoey. (I left the take-home box on the table). The appetizers were good, albeit fried. The chips and salsa were nothing special and worse of all, no margaritas! Cute little space though.
This is kind of a two for one review.
My experience with Mi Lindo Yucatan is via the Valley Tavern in Noe Valley.
Let me start by saying the food was great. I highly recommend the Fish Tacos. Fresh salmon, great salsa and wonderful pieces of avocado. Everything else we ordered was great, and there is the rub. Ordering...
Again we were actually at the Valley Tavern in Noe Valley and we picked up the Bar Menu, what a treat. Wonderful Latin Dishes and a great variety of dishes.
The only problem is that once we ordered things broke down. The people from the restaurant and the people form the bar had no idea who was who. God forbid you need a fork, it is a 20minute wait, but I have to say, go ahead and have a cocktail and some ceveche at the tavern, but for the full experience go next door for dinner.
The food at Mi Lindo Yucatan is pretty good, and it's a fun place to eat, but the dishes are underseasoned. I don't know what it is -- maybe they're catering to Noe Valley taste buds or something.
The Tostada de Cochinita that started the meal were beautifully plated, but bland. Same for my wife's Pescado Yucateco, which she felt could use more kick. I loved my Pozole, especially since it was really cold that night, but again, it could have been a bit more robust.
I guess for the neighborhood, Mi Lindo Yucatan will suffice, but I'd rather go elsewhere.

did I go to a different restaurant or something? because the reviews do not match up with my experience...I thought it was really bad. I was really concerned about the taste and smell of my chicken in my tacos. i mean, it's chicken. any restaurant that can't do chicken well is concerning to me. even I can cook the stuff and not mess it up like they did. they also need to consider warming that place up on cold nights. brrrrrrr!

The people here are amazing. You get the feeling that you belong here. That they are welcoming you into their own dining room. I love that the last time I was here they were playing annoyingly cute Christmas carols sung in Spanish by little kids with squeaky voices.
The food is deceptively simple. When you've dined in SF as long as I have, you get jaded about the food. You expect everything to knock your socks off at first bite. But the flavors here build, layer upon layer of delicious simplicity. I'm never disappointed.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. My food came out cold, my waitress was kinda rude, and overall it was overpriced for what I got. When I complained about the food being cold I got a "whatever" look and that was about it. Meh. Evil monkey butt.
I guess it was just a bad night for me, so now I am going to have some hot coco to make myself feel better. Hot coco with almaretto, that is...sweet.

This place is great for some more upscale mexican-like fare and the service is friendly. It's fresher tasting than what you would get at a mexican place. I've been here several times and always enjoyed whatever I had.

It's all about the panuchos! (Certainly not the service), but then again lackluster way the plates are thrown at me makes me feel as if I'm having an authentic dining experience.
Anyway back to panuchos. Think of the most amazing taco you've ever eaten. Then "soft fry" the shell and fill it with a black bean paste. Top that with a pickled onion and soon that memory I just asked you to recall of the best taco you've ever eaten is a distant speck on the compost heap of cuisine Mexicana! Only rivaled by finding one "home made" a taco that packs a country-specific punch!
Don't stop there, the chicken taco is flat out amazing, the tortilla soup superb and salsa addicting. Flat flavor, complex and slightly sweet. The ONLY place in the city I'm satisfied to fill up on the chips before the food hits my lips.
Tip 30% the food is good, reasonably prices, and I don't want the ladies to get the wrong idea and actually politely serving my food. That would be too American ;)

This is a great inexpensive place for dinner. Mr Q and I had a yummy beef empanada for an appetizer, and he had the quesadilla with pork & goat cheese, which was amazing. I ordered the pork pibil and it comes swimming in a reddish brown sauce with tortillas on the side. It's yummy if you wrap the pork up in a tortilla then dip in the sauce. We also had agua frescas and a side of plantains that were only $3.50. We'll definitely be back!
My friend and I ate here for 8 bucks TOTAL. I ordered a chicken taco (delicious, a little healthier sans crema and queso) and a diet pepsi and she got some taco that sounded foreign, but looked delicious.
What a terrific light lunch.
Dinner looks a little more pricey, but I'll come here next time I'm craving Yucatanian (sp?) comida.

I love this place and eat lunch there at least 2 times a week! I work a few days a week in Noe Valley and it can be difficult to find reasonably priced food that is delicious...(seriously, you can easily spend $12 on a SALAD at some of these places).the food here is always good, I have never had anything bad. they have fresh juices too, including beet, apple, carrot/ginger..etc. so that is cool.
I am a vegetarian, and am always asking if certain things are made with meat broth, and if the waitress is unsure, the chef will always come out and tell me.. so that is cool.
the goat cheese empanada's are really the absolute BEST.
and the plain rice and beans are truly delicious and they are VEGAN.
and the Chile Relleno is pretty awesome cause it is not stuffed with cheese, it is stuffed with grilled veggies and than has a light sauce, it is really good.
yum, OK, now I'm hungry...sigh...

It makes me nervous and a little annoyed is when the wait staff asks if you're ready to order every 30 seconds. They don't take reservations, instead they take the 'rush people in and out' method. For that unfortunately I have to give only three stars - the food is definitely dope ass good. I had the tortilla soup and a taco, and the man among boys had some chicken plate.... sorry will change this when I remember what he had. The portions are big - definitely plan on having leftovers and leaving the place rubbing your belly complaining about how full you are, maybe even too full to make out. Nooo. Not that full, but really, very full.

Pretty dang good. I love the regional variety of flavors in the Yucatan and this place does a nice job of importing them. Not much atmosphere but good, simple food. Price is nice too. Great addition to the 'hood.
Get the fried plantains.
The atmosphere and service could give this place four stars, but the food is three. It's perfect for a pop-in and the price "can't be beat." Veggie Tamales are the fav.
Not impressed with this place. I'd eat there again, it wasn't terrible, but certainly nothing to write home about. Dishes came out cold, the guacamole had way too much lime in it, just mediocre. I'll try it again, to be fair we went on a Sunday night kind of late.
I had the Black Beans with pork while my Mom had the Poc Chuk, which I should have had. The food was good but the presentation could have been more appealing. Honestly, the pork dish I picked came out looking like a few turds swimming in murky water. Not very appetizing. Once I cut up the meat and mixed the black beans and the fresh condiments (chopped onions, avocado, tomato and parsley) together, it was actually quite good. A very small plate of rice came with the meal and I was disappointed that the vegetables in the rice were the frozen veggies from the market. Boo!
Lastly, my Mom ordered me the rice pudding. Gosh, I feel really bad saying this because I LOVE rice pudding but the I think the chef slipped in some gravel. Thank goodness my Mom's dish was delicious, her dinner makes me want to give it another go.

Mi Lindo Yucatan is a Mayan restaurant on 24th street in Noe Valley. It has a very cute decor, with brightly colored walls and mirrors. The tables are quite interesting, filled with yellow beans. We were given corn chips and two types of salsa, a red and a green. The green was really spicy, and the red was very different than normal Mexican salsas I've tried. Not sure of what the flavor was. I ordered the tortilla soup and a vegetarian tamale. My mom had a beef empendada and some kind of chicken taco. The tortilla soup was very interesting, instead of a clear broth with chicken and tortilla strips, this one was creamy, perhaps made of a squash puree. It was topped with avocado and sour cream. Amazingly delicious. The empenada was tasty as well, although it was served with a tomato chipotle sauce which I am not a fan of and was too spicy for my mom. The vegetarian tamale was filled with corn, squash, and beans and had a tomato relish on top. The chicken tortilla was basically a salad of grilled chicken breasts tossed with lettuce in a lemony vinagrette atop a bed of lettuce on a corn tortilla. The service was fast and friendly. My one complaint is that I had ordered a side of fried plantains, but they never arrived. I didn't really mind though, because I realized how close we were to Mitchell's ice cream, and didn't want to feel too stuffed in preparation for the delectable treats in store for us.
A ++ for presentation. Everything that arrived made me wish I had a camera to take a picture. Avacodo...mango salsa...pink shrimp...all the colors just popped.
A for taste. I had the quesadillas and enjoyed them very much. They were a biiit dry, which I like, but I could see that some (who I ate dinner w/) would not be a big fan. My dinner companion had the fish tacos and WOW were they good.
Affordable prices, friendly service. Overall good experience.

Such cute ambiance, lovely service....
It's a bummer that I didn't like the food more on today's visit. Maybe it is my palate preference, but when I order empanadas, I expect there to be a bready dough around the fillings. Today's empanada seemed to be more like a tortilla or thin dough layer that was deep fried....not my thing.
However, I still think that this place is worth another try.
I love this place, and the dedication they show to Mary of Guadalupe!
Everything we have ordered her over the years, has always been fresh and delicious. Get the fish tacos- yum!

"Arriba, Arriba ...Andale, Andale!!!
...theez eez Speedy Gonzales, the poleetically incorrect rodent who stealz the hearts of senoritas all over Meh-hico. I have found a muy bueno place to have deenner away from that pesky gringo pussycat, Sylvester. Even my cuzzin Slowpoke Rodriguez, he like theez place, too. It eez in Noe Valley...Ay Yi Yi Yi! ....Ole! Ole! ...Arriba, Arriba ...Andale, Andale!" (whoosh...and he's gone in a puff of smoke).
Such a find in the heart of Noe Valley on 24th near Castro! It's a small, colorful place in that typical South-of-the-Border decor we all know from Chevy's, but unlike Chevy's, the food really surprised me. I was able to try three dishes - all superb. I started with a small bowl of the $2.95 Tortilla Soup, which was nice and thick with chip strips swimming about and an avocado wedge on top. Delish like a Latin-tinged butternut squash.
My entree was a daily special I could not pass up, the $10.95 Quesadilla de Pato, which was a huge, grilled tortilla stuffed with loads of oh-so-tender confit duck, gooey manchego cheese, Mission fig slices and oyster mushrooms. It was quartered, drizzled with a nice orange balsamic sauce (with a plum-like flavor) and accompanied by an arugula salad and sprouts. It was as serendipitous a match of sweet and savory as I've tasted since my last visit to Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles down in LA.
Jamie W. ordered the $15.95 Seafood Plate, which puts anything Pasta Pomodoro up for mocking ridicule. It had huge scallops, jumbo shrimp (truly), spinach and peppers tossed together with fettucine noodles in a light, though a bit watery tomato sauce. The seafood tasted so incredibly fresh because the sauce doesn't overpower it. Special snaps for the homemade tortilla ships and the incredible dipping sauce they make there..not a salsa but with a smooth, creamy flavor. I was dying to buy a jar of it and go to town on a double bag of Doritos.
Oh, here comes Speedy again ...(whoosh! ...screeching stop) "Eet's muy bueno food like your mamacita's, eh, gringo?"
"Si, Speedy...my madre eez from the east...way, way east."
FOOD - 5 stars...gee, I hope they offer that duck quesadilla again...it is to die for
AMBIANCE - 4 stars...colorful..and the tables are not that close together, though good luck if you have a large party
SERVICE - 4 stars...very thoughtful and responsive...I think there's only two women who run the whole place!
TOTAL - 5 stars....a great find for quality Mexican cuisine miles above the tacquerias in the Mission...really reminds me of Oaxacan cuisine, robust flavors, beautifully presented

For those who don't know, this is Mayan-esque cuisine, so as others have noted, it's not going to be what you consider Mexican food.
I highly rate the fish tacos. You get a HUGE piece of grilled fish on each taco and the overall taste is quite amazing.
The sangria was also really good.

DELICIOUS FOOD & FRIENDLY SERVICE! Food is yummylicious! I absolutely love the crab salad with mangoes and spinach and their tortilla soup. Because i worked next door, having to walk by this adorably cute restaurant everyday was tough because I would always want to go in and order something. The great thing is that they're open late 10pm so when I'm working the late shift, I can always count of them being there to supply me with energy. Even better, you can call them in and tell them what your order is and in 15 mins. just pay and pick up or pay and eat there!
The tamales are a steal but only if you like them slightly dry and less stuffed. I'm a huge tamales fan and the ones I get from the Farmers Market at Alemany still taste the best. Except for the raspberry chocolate tamales I tried at the tamale festival in San Jose which were quite interesting.
Yummy! I got some empanadas which I typically do not like, but the description made them irresistible - and boy were they good! Not too greasy with some delicious cream sauce. TASTY! The boyfriend got something good too.. I think it had coconut. I would hit this place up again.
Another plus for me is always sangria... TASTY (again)! I took one star off because we (2 people) ordered the large sangria, the waitress look at us like we were crazy. "Small?" she suggested, "No we can can handle the large," said boyfriend. "Small. The large is really large," points to carafe of sangria. "Large," said Boyfriend. "Small," said waitress. "Ok, we'll take a small, then order another small when we finish it," said boyfriend. Ordered two, the waitress could have saved herself some steps if she would have just brought the large.
