My husband and I went here on Saturday night. The food was excellent. I had fillet of sole and my husband had penne a la vodka with chicken. Delicious. The service was unfortunately lacking. Our waitress wasn't very attentive and friendly. We had to ask to refill our water twice. She took my plate and napkin by accident and didn't seem to notice or care. The worst part was the wait. It took about 1 hour for our food to come out. For real. The food was good though, so I am not sure if we will be back.

We've ordered out from here with great results & finally decided to visit. Unexpectedly great vibe in the dining room with families and large tables enjoying loud dinners all around. Service was a little touch & go but overall reliable. Portions were generous, food was better than our take-home. A suggestion for ownership though, my Negroni should not have been served in a pint glass. That's a ton of booze. We sat at the bar for a cocktail before dinner and I was surprised to watch that cocktail be made in front of me. Regardless, we will return. Grazi!

Delicious meals
Kind, quick, friendly service/Victor I think his name was. Someone kept calling him Raphael, not sure why.
Quaint and Charming Italian decor sorta old world family feeling. Like you'd expect a grandma or mother to walk thru to check on you.
Oh wait SHE DOES!

My mom and dad frequented Milanese during a 48 year marriage. So what is coming on a year of dads passing. Felt good to dine at Milanese.
Our server took great detail and care in taking our order and or handling the matters of our table. ( special needs) The kindness and care into making our meal peaceful.

While in Poughkeepsie with friends from around the country three of us decided to try Milanese. This reminds us of the family run Italian restaurants we grew up with. Simply stated...great food, wonderful service, and friendly, attentive staff. Right down to the older couple who went table to table to make you feel welcome and appreciated. The food was phenomenal!
All this in a restaurant with classic "family owned" ambiance.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jan 22, 2023Updated review
I've come here a few times since my first review. Each time was consistently good. We went again on Saturday night to take my parents out for dinner just for fun. The Lobster Tail entree was so good! Highly recommend. The salmon is always good here too.

Let me tell you... although we weren't seated in the main dining area, there was an older man with a guitar who offered to sing to us in Italian, and boy did he have talent! Our waitress was very kind and attentive too, and the food was just absolutely delicious. The prices are pretty much average and the wine was absolutely on point! I would definitely recommend the salmon, it was soooo good. My partner got the bistecca fiorentina and said that was really good too. We want to try out lunch here too but we'll be back regardless. Definitely recommend!

Had an excellent meal at this classic Italian restaurant. The food and service couldn't be better. Our table of 6 were treated with such care, we felt like family. There was an event happening, yet we still felt like we were their top priority. We were even treated to a few sleight of hand tricks by the clever owner, a legend in the area. I believe somewhere during the meal I heard someone belt out a delightful version of 'Volare'. I feel like we were transported to Italy for the evening.
Exceptional food- I had the burrata ravioli with ragu sauce. A 10 out of 10 and would order it again, except I'd love to try their other offerings. We also had the calamari and the antipasti platter- perfection!!
If you're in the area or within 100 miles- come! You won't leave hungry or disappointed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - RJ T.Boston, MA056Nov 25, 2023
My goodness...what fun evening. A classic New York area Red Sauce Joint complete with the statues, period decorations, classic Italian food, fantastic friendly and professional service all delivered in an unhurried way. They really want you to enjoy your meal...and hey...what's the hurry. As a bonus, the patriarch wanders around and does magic tricks at the table. What is not to like. I will be back.
The food is...a well executed red sauce joint! Don't expect more and you will be happy with the food and the value. I consider myself a connoisseur of eggplant parmigiana. This was the best I have had...maybe ever.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Perrella H.Freehold, NJ01718Jul 7, 2023Updated review
Great place was there for a bike New York 100 mile cycling event and the staff, food, ambiance was perfect. Staff went way out of their way for me, a solo diner and bread meal, dessert etc was great. Did great in the event as I had right food. Love Milanese

Another great meal at Milanese! We got there at 430pm on a Sunday for dinner because I would be driving home that evening, but we were there over two hours. There were only a couple servers on the restaurant side and they ended up having a huge party going on in the other room which spilled over. We ordered the Baked Stuffed Clams for an appetizer. There were 5 and they were good but not as large as we would normally get from a seafood restaurant. We both love the fresh homemade garlic bread they serve in the bread basket! My son had Pollo Contadina which he loved. It's his new favorite! I had chicken parm with a side of penne. Tiramusu for dessert of course! The portion size for dinners are large so we each took home half of our meal!

I love that they serve both fresh made bread and fresh made garlic bread in the basket! Yum!! We had chicken piccata, veal Marsala, and penne a la vodka. All were terrific! For dessert we had a cannoli and the tiramisu. My son is a tiramisu expert and he said it was one of the top two tiramisu he had ever had! We asked and were told it comes from a bakery in the Bronx...it was fantastic!

We were warmly welcomed when we walked in. We have no reservation but in less than 10 minutes we were seated by the owner himself. It was a busy Saturday night but the staff were working fast as they can be so they could sit people waiting but not rushing people still dining. Our waitress get our order right away and served our drinks, bread then salad in less than we were expecting. As I was looking on everyone, they all seemed enjoying their night. The place has family ambiance and it is a perfect place to spent time with the people you love. There were about four celebrations happening during our stay. Our food arrived, home cooked Italian food smells nicely and it tasted very good. I had linguine clam, and it was I am expecting, light and tasty. My husband had meatball spaghetti. He seemed liking it because he almost finished what's on his plate even the serving portion is large. We never had room for dessert. The owner came down us to say thank you for coming. It seems like the staff is all family members if not like family relationship. It is a nice place to come and dined , you will have a homey feeling during your stay.
