Neighborhood: BelltownThis is where I got when I want great seafood and a great view! I love to eat here. When my family and friends come to visit this is where I take then to eat for the very first time. It is great because while eating here you get not only a taste of wonderful Pacific Northwest Salmon but you also get a great view of the Puget sound!
The first time I went here we saw otters playing in a boat that was moored at a dock next door. The patio is a great place to sit when it is warm and sunny outside!
During the summer they have a wonderful "Sunset Dinner," deal. You get a five course meal for about $18 bucks! Fabulous and freaking delicious!

I've always been satisfied with the food and service here.
The last time i was here i had a craving for oysters and tried the oyster sampler and each one was fresh and delicious and whoever shucked our little shelled friends did an awesome job with no bits or pieces to pick out.
I also had there american kolbe square steak and it was cooked perfectly!
Seriously, for how generic this place can feel they still do a good job with the chow.

My mom and aunt love this place, so the family gatherings happen upstairs. Up there the food is fine, the service is fine, all is fine, fine, fine. Nothing to shout about, but not bad either. But, TRUST ME! Go downstairs to the diner and order the Mussels and Mashers - steamed mussels on a mound of mashed potatoes, covered in saffron curry sauce. YOWZAH!
I have always been very satisfied with Anthony's Pier 66. The food has always been extremely well prepared and presented and they don't skimp on the portions. The view is great. I've always found the staff to be pleasant and friendly, regardless of whether I've come in on a business meal, with a large family group, or looking like a starving student, just back from a hike, grabbing a quick meal before a dash to the airport (much to my surprise, they did not hide us in the back, making me feel a bit guilty). Particular recommendations: the crab and corn chowder and any fish they plank.
The only reason they don't get the 5th star since this isn't a place that delivers beyond what you would expect for the price -- you get what you pay for, and it's quite good.

We had our office holiday party here. And since the company was paying, I sprung for the $40 filet mignon. It was pretty good, a little overdone (well instead of medium well). My boyfriend had the planked salmon. Holy crap. It was tender and moist and the flavor of the plank was so strong -- it rocked. The creme brulee was a generous portion and I ate every ounce. So in conclusion, yummy but maybe a tad overpriced.

This isn't much of a review, or maybe it's two reviews in one, or maybe it's just a rant. Anyway, here it is.....
We walked into Anthony's looking for a beer one afternoon. Apparently we overshot the bar and inadvertently sat ourselves in a booth in the regular dining area. One of the staff came over and informed us rather coldly that this was not the bar area and we had to go back to the reception desk and have them seat us properly. We looked around the utterly empty restaurant and wondered WTF difference it could possibly make. "Miss Cheerful" had already stomped off , so I went to "check in" with the hostess. On the way I made a quick stop at the men's room, which looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the last goatherders convention hit town. Out in the reception area, no less than FIVE servers are standing around talking about their manicures. Apparently none could be bothered to throw us a frickin' drink menu. We left.
We wandered down the waterfront a ways and found ourselves at another restaurant, appropriately called "Waterfront". They looked like they were just getting set up for the night, but when we inquired we were greeted with a "Sure! C'mon in! Sit anywhere you like and someone will be with you in a minute." And they were! Five minutes later we're sipping cold Stellas at an outdoor table with a postcard view of the Sound. Didn't eat anything, but the appetizers I saw sure looked inviting.
I think you can guess which of these places will be getting my business in the future. Service matters, folks.

I'm suprised by the mixed reviews for Anthony's. I have never had a bad meal here. I have eaten upstairs once, when I had friends in town and the view, service and food were all phenomenal.
I have also eaten downstairs on several occiasions - the service isn't quite as good and there is a better chance you'll be seated by a crying child, but the food is just as great.
I always get either the salmon poke appetizer (just the right portion) and the ceaser salad or the crab cakes in two sauces. Husband gets the fish and chips and its always great.
And on more than one occaision, when we have been there in the winter we have gotten coupons for big discounts off our next meal. Woohoo.

This review refers to the Bell Street Diner only - I have not dined upstairs.
Okie dokie...
It was so gorgeous on Saturday that the hub, my mama, and I decided to take the mini hero for a walk through the Sculpture park and down the way to Elliott Bay Park. It was divine - what a day. And what a long freaking walk it turned out to be. We were f'ing starving by the time we got back out to Pier 70, and the mini hero was fit to be tied. In fact, this was an occassion that I was really wishing that it was socially acceptable to hog tie one's child. But that's a story for another day.
We decided to head down Alaskan Way to Anthony's - I had visions of chowder dancing in my head. We finally arrived after a torturous trek through cruise passengers' comings and goings to find that there was a 15 minute wait. I damn near cried - mini hero was doing that thing where he becomes completely flat and you have no way of getting hold of him.
Thankfully a table was ready a little sooner than was originally predicted. We were seated with crayons and a coloring menu - small favors. The booth was by a window with a larger than life view of a Fun Ship and the bench was low enough that crazy boy was able to sit at the table with us - we used the highchair as a threat only. At least the psychotic toddler episode was abated.
Things were going well until the ten minutes had passed since we put our drink order in. It was at that point that my mouth finally dried completely up and fused shut. Very uncomfortable. Thankfully my Diet Coke came within a couple of minutes after that and I was able to rehydrate my bouche.
We ordered the Chicken Quesadilla for an appetizer, and the grilled cheese for the kid to come at the same time. Hub ordered the Salmon Tempura, my mama the Seafood Chop Chop and I the Crab Spinach Salad/Cup of Chowder combo.
The quesadilla would have been great if it had shown up ten minutes earlier than it did and was still HOT. Quelle bummer... We were a little worried that the plate and sandwich would be too hot for the mini hero - unneeded, it was stone cold. He didn't care - lucky for them because he is quite the little ass kicker.
When our entrees showed up more disappointment for the hub - mom and I were fine since ours were cold (the chowder was plenty hot, I would imagine it was pulled out of a pot right before everything was carried to the table). His tempura was soggy - but he did love the slaw on the side.
So I guess the lesson is this - maybe this is not the place to visit in the high season with cruise ships and their chattel running all over the place. Maybe you want to come when they haven't recently hired a bunch of seasonal staffers? The food should have been good - it was the service that was really in need of some help.

alder plank salmon, mash taters, and veggies...simple but excellent.
oysters were a great appetizer.
warm bread to get you started.
dessert was rich, chocolateee-based ice cream.
Service was great...efficient and unobtrusive.
Sunday Seafood Supper.
It started to rain and the view overlooking the Bay was very beautiful. Half way through my meal, the rain cleared up. And the sight was so relaxing.
The Blackened Alaska Halibut sounds excellent, but I didn't have it. Upon asking, the portions are very large. And they do not offer smaller plates. Not knowing what to order, I decided on a Virgin Mango Daq and Tempura Cod with Ginger Slaw.
The Mango Daquari was a nice choice. Cool. Refreshing. And I got a serving of fruit into my meal, (that's rare outside of breakfast).
The Tempura Cod was nothing spectacular, and it came with your typical order of fries too. Hey... did you sell me Fish 'n Chips?!!?!?!?!
Back to my dinner, tartar sauce... too normal and a tablespoon portion, which means they care about my dressing intake being at a minimal. I appreciated it (and the malt vinegar, soy sauce and ketchup on my table... just in case).
Well, the side of Ginger Slaw was amazing. It had just the right amount of tanginess and no mayo. A Health Slaw to squawk about. It was freshly made (that won more points).
The the side portions were large. The two sides evenly shared the plate, which is always good to hold the appetite. And for the price, who am I to complain?!
My Tempura Cod was economically priced at $11.95. My total bill with tip was around $20, but I had a fancy drink. Changing my mind about what to have for supper saved me about $15, (smaller portion sizes means a smaller waist line).
I noticed the menu range on entrees seemed to be $9.95 to $28.95. And there was a decent selection of Appetizers, Salads and Dessert options. So, whatever your tastebuds are up for Seafood wise, Bell Street Diner has it for you.
Enjoy!

A friend and I spent a seemingly cloudy Sunday morning walking along the trail at Myrtle Edwards Park, took in the overrated vistas at the Olympic Sculpture Park, and by noon we were frying from the heat. Only in the Pacific Northwest can you wake up to a completely overcast sky and by lunchtime have a new tan.
Since we were on the waterfront, like all the tourists, we decided to grab a drink and a bite at Anthony's Bell Street Diner. We were seated promptly outside, which was nice (save for the view of the giant cruise ship). We ordered a drink a piece, then took the waiter's advice and shared the crab cakes. They were perfect crab cakes, with a plum sauce and a butter sauce, served with a nicely salty rice and a cabbage salad. Tempted by the sun and the dessert menu, I got peach ice cream with fresh raspberries on top, while my friend ordered their signature dessert: blackberry cobbler.
It was all nice, fairly prompt, and tasty, but my paltry stars are for the bill. $35 a piece with tax and tip....not quite what I was expecting for a drink and a bite. Next time I'm wandering along the waterfront looking for a simple way to satisfy my palate, I'll head somewhere that the cruise ship refugees aren't the target audience.

Anthony's never disappoints, though I have to admit, it's gotten a bit boring for me after twice-annual visits for 8+ years now.... but that's my fault, since I don't like much seafood and always get the same thing!
The view here is spectacular and if you ask nicely when you call ahead to make your reservation (you are calling ahead, right?) :-) you can get a window table, most likely. The service is really good too, with several of the servers having been with the restaurant for many years. There's one waiter who is half Makah that I've had interesting whaling conversations with, and I like to get him, because he's just simply flawless (other than supporting tribal whaling!)
The alder-planked salmon will never disappoint. My daughter LOVES their steamed clams, and my seafood-loving (stay with me here LOL!) former uncle-in-law loves the fresh tuna that they often have.
Your out of town guests will be sufficiently wowed and your bank account won't be completely empty, especially if they go easy on the alcohol and desserts, both of which are really good if they do choose to indulge. The creme brulee trio gets my vote, but they always have creative desserts that use local berries and produce, too, and every one we've tried has been tasty and interesting.
The restaurant is always sparkling clean and the restrooms are delightful... the individual toilet/sink stalls, complete with real towels for hand-washing, and the glorious hand-blown glass sink in the main room make this a must-visit treat even if you don't need to use it!
Really, Anthony's food is not that incredible, but as with everything else here, they pay attention to ALL of the details and make just a little bit of extra effort so that your evening will be memorable. It's no Canlis, but it's certainly not Old Spaghetti Factory either, and jeans are still OK though it would be nice if you'd put on a real shirt instead of the ratty t-shirt you wore sailing. LOL
Valet parking eases that issue. Don't miss out on Anthony's... and this location is the best one, both for the view and the food.

Friday night I got to pick where to go to dinner and I picked Anthony's. OK I picked it because my friend was working there but also because I wanted a nice meal and I got what I wanted.
The warm bread they serve is to die for I had a piece and it melted in my mouth it was so delicious. For dinner I went for the Ahi and OMG talk about wonderful. It was served on rice with a with fresh ginger sauce, pineapple chutney and Asian slaw and I could not get enough of it nor could I get it to my mouth fast enough. The boy went with the Mahi which was cooked in a Thai like spicy, sweet and sour sauce. He enjoyed his very much and we were both glad with our picks for the evening. I loved mine, he loved his which was good because than I didn't have to share.
I was stuffed but wanted dessert too and since we couldn't decide on one to share we both got our own. I went with the burnt cream and it is now my favorite burnt cream of any where and every where I've had it. The boy went with some dark chocolate thing with raspberry sauce on it, it was good but not nearly as amazing as my burnt cream.
We sat in the bar so that my friend could stop in and chat for a bit between seating people and the service in the bar was great and the boy was able to sit and watch the Sonic's game while my friend and I chatted with each other. It was great go if not for dinner for the burnt cream.

Anthony's is the most over-rated tourist trap that I've experienced in a long while. Granted, I'm referring to the downstairs, lunch hour.
Let's start with the server. MAJOR attitude. He looked annoyed when I told him I had dietary restriction. The cooks do not do special order. I asked for a salad with tomato, onion, lettuce. The salmon came out drenched in butter, the salad was lettuce only. The whole thing was bizzare, almost as if he were doing it on purpose. He just did not care.
The clam chowder my sister ordered had bacon in it. She does not eat ham. He claimed that all clam chowder is made with ham. Is this possible and we have never realized it before? Whether this is true or not (I shall google it), he said it with such attitude. I really really disliked him.
Considering there are so many seafood restaurant options around, Anthony's was quite a disappointment. The following day I had teryaki salmon at this fast food Japanese place inside the Pike's Place Market & that fast food salmon tasted so much better, was a lot healthier, & cost about half the price.
The view was nice.
Reviewing the Diner: Good place for families and large groups. The food is good, not great, and the atmosphere is decidedly tourist. But the views are nice (no ships docked for my visit) and the service is better than expected.

Ask about how fresh the fish it, and you will almost be convinced that you are eating live seafood.
The restaurant on the second floor is gorgous with a nice view and even patio seating. The service is exceptional all times I have been there from an intimate date to a large 9 person group. They have free valet parking, so it makes going to the waterfront so simple.
Anthony's is my favorite seafood restaurant in Seattle.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself here. We had a private room for a pre-wedding party and it was awesome. We even had a door out to the patio for people to go out and suck on their cancer sticks.
The service was excellent and the food was delicious.
I loved the dessert where they put the liquer on the table and lit it on fire. I'd never seen anything like that before. I couldn't stop taking pictures of that.

It's hard to knock Anthony's. Big but not overwhelming menu with fair prices, great view, solid service, and valet parking is a big plus. For an appetizer, go with one of the salads and for an entre the seared Halibut is great for something lighter, and the Ahi is great for larger appetites.

Anthony's has superb oysters! The Kumamoto Oysters were so fresh! I had the Columbia River Salmon, and my friend's combo of Columbia River Salmon & Halibut was so delicious! We both were happy with our sides, mine string beans and potato au gratin, his mashed potatoes and string beans. We started with a glass of Hogue and my friend had a glass of scotch.
The dessert was blackberry cobbler, hot cooked goodness with a pastry top and a layer of vanilla ice cream. Pair that with an order of kona coffee french pressed and a small pot of green tea, and we were both full and happy!
The view was so amazing, sitting by the water in the evening...definitely a good choice place to visit!

Love going here. It's reasonably priced and has a stellar view.
Plus, we dine here sometimes with our daughter who is almost 3 and it's a kid frendly place. Valet parking is validated by the restaurant.
My favorite dishes are:
Salmon Tempura
Calamari Ceasar Salad
Shrimp Pasta
KeyLime Martini
Save room for dessert also!

Whenever I cruise out of Seattle, this is a required stop - sometimes I have lunch there before and after my cruise. It is a stellar restaurant, with great views and an excellent menu. In October, we stayed at the Edgewater, just a short walk away and had a memorable dinner before sailing for British Columbia. I had a fresh Hawaiian poke - seared tuna with a sweet sesame and soy sauce, followed by their award winning dungeness crab and corn chowder. I've also eaten their Pacific swordfish and Alaskan halibut, both mouthwatering fish! My favorite dish, however, is their burnt cream which ranks right up there in the top creme brulees of my life!

i love the smell of salty ocean air.
i get the feeling that may be a line from the little mermaid, but, as my gal pals and i always say, prine eric is the hottest of all the disney princes, and his love of the salty ocean air definitely adds to his appeal!
okay, now that i have gotten off to a really non-creepy sounding start, let me progress with my dining at the anthony's down on the pier.
i asked my friend hum to come grab a bite with me downtown. i parked on the street, which was fairly easy to do for a weekend. as i was flaring my nostrils to deeply inhale the smell of the salty sea air, i got the pangs for food. anthony's was literally 15 steps (okay, i dont know if it was literally 15 steps, but iwas really close) to my car so we opted to eat there. I had my doggie with me, so we opted to grab something from the smaller cafe and eat outdoors.
their grills were broken, which greatly decreased what we could order. i ended up having the red clam chowder in a bread bowl. hum got fish & chips and the bay shrimp salad.
for the prices we paid, the food was just okay. the view wasn't so hot because the humongous norweigan cruise ship was decked and boarding passengers while we were eating.
however, givent hat i had a dog and we were eating outside, it didn't do so badly.
wish the food was cheaper for what we ate-my friend's fish & chips looked a little soggy from the grease, but her fries were delish.
i hope to go back to the piers again next weekend, but eat something i really like next time.

Possibly the absolute worst service I've received in my life. All 20 people in my party were insulted by the waiter - and it was a business dinner too! Food was good, but you know what happens when you're so damn pissed at the service you can't remember a single thing...that's me. He was training for a new reality show called "Snobs R'Us". "Oh, I already get a $200 + tip because I'm going to auto-grat you? Let's see how many times I can roll my eyes at you, tell your guests to shut up because I want to tell you the specials, hold my hand out and DEMAND you give me your plate, INTERRUPT the big boss in the middle of his dessert to demand a credit card to pay the bill, and piss off every single diner at the table." That's actually a pretty amazing feat in itself. You pissed off 20 people who only wanted a nice meal and a glass of wine. And you made $200+ on top of that. Congratulations. I hope you're proud.

Expensive and long waits. I guess the food was alright.
A beautiful view of the sound and a lovely dinner. Anthony's offers several versatile dining options for what essentially is fish. On pier 66 there is the Bell Street Diner, Anthony's Pier 66, and Anthony's Fish Bar.
The Bell Street Diner is the lower section of the Pier 66 restaurant. It's a tad cheaper and a bit less posh dining. The food however does not lack in taste and the staff is just as friendly. Their ginger coleslaw is incredible.
Anthony's Pier 66 is a jewel. It's a perfect romantic evening getaway without being too posh. They don't seem to mind what you're wearing, but most people are casually dressed for dinner. A decent menu with fresh selections and interesting combinations. The crab was incredible! The staff was very pleasant and let us pleasantly finish up our meal even after the restaurant had closed. (classy) Definitely a nice place for fish when you are looking for something a little higher end than fish'n'chips but not too hard on the wallet.
Anthony's Fish Bar is right next to Anthony's Pier 66. It's a cheaper more laid back way to enjoy fish and a view. Excellent fish and chips. Good service and you get to indulge in the great view. Perfect stop when walking the waterfront.

Anthon'y offers a great selection of seafood in a very upscale dining atmosphere. The food is always amazing and service is second to none. Enjoy great views of the Sound as well as wines from across the globe and an all-in-all wonderful dining experience. I've had the breaded cod, breaded chicken, and steak here and I've never been disappointed!
A good place to take your friends from out of town, simply because the view of the waterfront is great, the prices are reasonable, and the food is classically Northwest. (As in seafood in all its many incarnations.) The only bad thing I've heard from someone here is that a manhattan was mixed poorly. Oh well. Manhattan is a far cry from the Seattle waterfront anyway.
