I used to really enjoy this place. It's gone down hill, especially since it moved to a bigger location. Last time I was there with 3 other people the service was so slowwww and the food took forever. My husband got a steak and it was horribly overcooked. For the price they charge it should be perfection. You may want to think twice about visiting and spend your time and money elsewhere.

My sister & I went here over 4th of July week. I was visiting from out of town.
They're not very busy during the day around 2pm so wonderful time to go.
I had some very tasty & spicy corn fried shrimp/crawfish tails. Also some hush puppies. The portions were nice size. We had enough to take home. For desert I tried the Bananas Foster Beignets. Now I have had the real thing in New Orleans they're pretty close but of course nothing has ever been the same as Beignets from Cafe Dumont.
For dinner they're also suppose to have live music on Fridays & Saturdays- I don't know about that.
The waiter was great. Our lunch was however cut a little short. A lady with a screamy child came in and my sister & I had to leave. We couldn't take it anymore.
But if your in the area and want a little Southern Cooking give it a try.
Ok, so here's my beef. Fundamentally I like the place and I have had good food and service in the past. I am a vegetarian and the option they offer is really tasty. I knew they had a vegan option, so I decided to take a vegan friend since there are so few places she can get something other than a salad. When her food came there was sugar all over the sweet potato fries - nothing that was mentioned in the description. She explained to the waitress that sugar is not in fact vegan. My friend was pretty upset but was polite and played it cool. The waitress took her plate and said she would take care of it. She brought back the food on a new plate sans fries and made no attempt to fix the situation with fries that had no sugar. At the end of the meal, the ticket came with no reduction for the mistake and no real apology. My friend then had to practically duke it out with the waitress who really had a sucky attitude. My big point here, since I think some people would look at this and go, oh, picky vegan, is that if they advertise something as vegan it should be and if a mistake is made it should be fixed.
We came back here just this past Saturday and had another phenomenal meal. We didn't have reservations so we opted to sit in the bar where we could hear the music better. Some guy named Ryan LaPlante was doing a bang up job on the steal guitar and rocking the joint solo!
Anyhow, the food is the important thing here. We had the Seafood Jambalaya (traditional pork & chicken Jambalaya topped with shrimp, crawfish, clams, mussels and some smoky homemade Andouille sausage. If that don't get your mouth watering, nothing will. Name your heat, but as it comes, they'll call it a "4" on their heat scale) and the Alligator Tail Picant (Alligator tail, sliced then braised tender in a chili pepper tomato picant sauce, served with buttered white rice & cornbread)... topped off with a couple of gin and tonics and you had two VERY happy people.
Next week we're coming back for some good old fashioned Po' Boys!

Finally a restaurant catering to folks of my Green ilk. It even has a Green rendition of the Sistine Chapel. Nice atmosphere. Great food.
I haven't visited the new Alligator Soul, which would probably help since I'm a little scared in small places, but the food here was amazing. I tried my dinner date's meal and it was fantastic! The jamabalaya he ordered was so good that it almost beat my order of crawfish tails in some kind of sauce (Etoufee---thanks O dude) over rice...what was the name of that sauce??? Anyway, we followed up with some beignet's and the chef came out personally to ask how our meal was. So nice! Just a lil touch of Southern charm I guess. I almost gave four stars, and I really should review the new location and try more dishes, but for now it's not as fantastic a restaurant as some places are, but it really has great yummy food at adequate prices.

I don't know if there's ever been a time when I was there that it wasn't packed and busy at both the old (especially the old place since it was so small) or the new location. Needless to say, reservations are always a good idea. Even so, our last visit there had us waiting almost a half an hour past our reservations. Now that being said why did I rate it 5 stars? First off, customer service. They know how to treat their guests. In the afore mentioned situation of delayed seating despite reservations, they kept us informed, didn't forget about us, made apologies AND gave us two choices of appetizers, on the house for making us wait. Their app's are nothing to scoff at and that showed me that they were truly sincere. This has actually happened twice to me and the fact that they actually cared not just for the seated customers, but for the ones waiting too.
Now as I mentioned, the place is always (at least when I've been there) hella busy. We had a group of 10. What was nice was, as soon as we were seated, they had the apps that we picked already on the table and more than enough for the group, but because of the how busy it was and the size of our group, it took a little time to get our entree's to us, but they did so in a manner where everyone got their food at pretty much the same time, plus the music, beer and apps were enough to keep us entertained.
Now unlike the Diamond Knot, the wait staff, despite the number of patrons were friendly, helpful and took the time to describe the food and/or beer when asked with out making you feel as if they had some place better to be.
The food. I don't know about it being average as Tammy W. describes it....actually, she might have some higher standards to Cajun/Creole food so I'd love to hear her recommendations for a place that is more than average...but I think the food is excellent, full of flavor and just damn good! I ordered a new addition to the menu, a 14 oz rib eye steak. Normally I don't order steak unless I'm at a place like The Metropolitan Grill (which doesn't dissapoint), but I've tried just about everything else so I figure what the hell? The steak was excellent! Now at the Met when you pay 50 clams for a steak, it better be damn good, but what I had at Alligator Soul.....1/2 the price and just as good and cooked perfectly! As we left the Chef came out to greet us and check how everything was. He told me he was a little nervous 'bout the steak being a new menu item and all, but was more than happy to know how good I though it was.
Bottom line, Alligator Soul isn't the in and out kind of place. If that's what you're lookin' for try Denny's or Applebee's. This place has class, character, great food and wonderful customer service. I highly recommend.
I keep going back, hoping things will be different, but the food is just average. But at least there's SOME Cajun/Creole in Everett! Kudos to them for opening an independent restaurant that is inviting and comfortable too.

So one of my clients sings at alligator soul and she pretty much said i have to go if I really want good food... since I told her my new love of yelp... she told me to go eat there.. so I did... I was in love.. .not in love enough to move to everett.... but in love enough that I will go there with again maybe next week by myself :( hahaha
my order... ok get ready for this .. I wanted to try everything out.. and plus I had left overs.. :)
- Shrimp creole - let's just say.. my mouth said thank you jesus..
- jambalaya - as amazing as the shrimp creole .. but spicier oh yeah baby.!!!!!
- cat fish and hush puppies.. I am pretty indifferent about the cat fish.... since it was a little fishy.. but the hush puppies.. two of my favorite things.. corn bread that is fried.. really? holy cow I love it....
to drink I didn't know what to pick from the arnold palmer, or the sweet tea so I got both... I went by myself.. and I think they might have thought I was pregnant..... but who cares.... I got myself good food... who needs a date right??????????????

A Southerner once told me once that corn bread should never be sweet, yet it should be so dry it sucks the life out of your body through your mouth when you eat it. It would be unfair of me to judge Alligator Soul exclusively on the quality of their corn bread. However, the gumbo was delightful if a little on the creative side. Just thinking about that gumbo and I'm desperate to go back and try the pulled pork sandwich. Perhaps the cornbread that will come with that sandwich will not be quite as moist or sweet as that which came with my gumbo. Oh man. Just thinking about that gumbo. It truely was just one more fresh stalk of okra away from being saintly.
Our food came up a bit on the slow side, something I can't place fault on the waitstaff by my observations. The bartender we observed was 2nd only to a swiss watch in terms of regularity and efficiency of service. The waitress for our table and the sections next to ours seemed to have their "A" game on. Perhaps the kitchen staff need to figure out a swifter system?
Before I forget: The coleslaw was sugary enough to give you a toothache on contact. Bring a dental hygenist with you as a date.
So there are little things to nit-pick over. Longish drive from Seattle, slow service, not-quite-authentic taste, some of the decore is a bit obcessive with the fake plastic ivy, parking on peak days/times can be challenging... But you know what? It's charming. It's better than average service compared to most establishments in Everett. It has a cult following and It's got a live band! Furthermore, If you are a Seattleite you'll like the price on the tab at the end of the evening.
All things considered, I love it, but... I don't _love_ it. Know what I mean?
I'll be back for more in the not too distant future.
I love me some Alligator Soul, everything I've eaten here has always been delicious. I don't eat meat, just seafood, but the waitstaff is awesome at hooking you up with dishes that are meatfree. They've got family dinners every once in a while and the menu was all meat. We called up, said we were bringing along a non-meat-eater, and they made me up a giant platter of meatfree goodness. Too bad they didn't give me an extra fork to poke my friends as they kept stealing my goodies off my plate! Plus they've got great beer and don't mind you tasting a few to find one you really like.
I'm not a huge fan of their new location though. I liked the little storefront, it was nice and cozy. This one felt like we were eating in a remodeled Dennys. And it was SO much bigger but I don't think they'd hired much waitstaff. It took so long for us to get a waitress and order drinks that we all ordered two, so we wouldn't have to go through it again.
But really, all that matters are four words:
Sweet Potato Pecan Pie.
Dayum. That's some gooood stuff.

I found this place to be over priced for what you got. Also, the food was just not very impressive. I had a catfish dish and it was quite bland, not sure what my wife had, but during the car ride home, she indicated that she wouldn't go back either.
If the dishes had been priced 20% lower, then at least I wouldn't have expected as much from the food.
There's nothing fancy here, but the food is damn good and there's a gator version of the Sistine Chapel on the ceiling. What's not to love?
I was a bit leery of Alligator Soul since I'm not a big fan of gumbo and other Creole delicacies. I'm also not fond of smoked meats and ham products, but the food here is so yummy. It will probably shorten your life span if you dine here regularly, but every now and then, you just have to indulge.
Try the alligator beignets...they're delish. Also not to be missed is the Good Ol Boy Brisket Deep Fried Po Boy sandwich. Yes, I did say it was a deep fried sandwich....full of tender, yummy beefy brisket and smothered in a spicy gravy. Just be sure to get a big cold beer to wash it down. YUM!
Really, if you're in Everett, it's worth heading to Alligator Soul for something a little different than your average restaurant fare. Be adventurous--try it...you'll like it!
I have to say that this is one of my favorite restaurants, anywhere. Not only because it's a jewel in the otherwise somewhat blight that is Everett (I can say that... I live here), but because it is so good on so many different levels. First let's talk about food....
Large, incredibly varied menu.... Where on earth can you get Turtle Soup, Alligator tail, Sweet Potato Fries, and Deep Fried Pickles all in the same place? Let alone in Everett! Chef Ryan has studied under Emeril Lagasse and LOVES his restaurant and it really shows. He makes sure you have a sampling of the savory beignets with crawfish gravy, as well a dessert taster too, most night you're there. People have spent a lot of time in the reviews here talking about the catfish... Let me tell you there's SO much more to be had at Alligator Soul! Silky dark brown gumbo with a coupla hunks of fried catfish (or chicken, your choice) on top, pecan crusted fish, crab topped steak, po' boys, ham hocks, the biggest plate of Jambalaya you may have ever seen. All good, good, good. They have a mushroom puff-pastry with a port reduction appetizer that is to die for. Shrimp & grits.... and It's all just delicious. Plus, they have a monthly tasting menu, where you can sample Ryan's new offerings.
I have been coming here 'bout every other month for the past three years (after moving to Everett). I have consistently had excellent, friendly service. I come regularly with my 10 year old daughter and we are always recognized and treated with the friendliest of receptions. I have brought multiple guests here on multiple occasions and always had a consistently great time with consistently great food... My guests have always been thrilled!
Lastly, the atmosphere is really relaxed and casual, but with superior service and food. This is really important to me. The music on weekends is always awesome and fun to listen to, and the whole restaurant... diners, staff and all, really get into the groove and you feel like you're at some killer neighborhood party, instead of just out for dinner. I sincerely cannot recommend this place highly enough!
Go to Alligator Soul, try lot's of things on the menu... say hi to Ryan. You will not be disappointed.
I am a HUGE fan of Alligator Soul!
If you have ever attempted to satisfy your creole cravings at places such as the New Orleans in downtown Seattle, you know that THE FLAVOR AND OVERALL QUALITY of the southern cuisine in the Northwest is SEVERELY lacking.
Alligator Soul is a GODSEND if you are a displaced southerner or just a fan of spicy, fried, smothered, crispy goodness.
The first time i tried Gator it was on a saturday at lunchtime in the old tiny Hewitt location. The food was good and the place was practically empty... But what has really impressed me about the Gator is its new location in the old Petosa's building on Broadway.
If you had ever eaten at Petosa's... you know what a stinky dive it used to be. Gator adopted the old dump and totally revitalized this section of Broadway.
I recently had my birthday dinner at the Gator with a group of 8 adults and one 18 month old. I had made reservations 3 weeks prior which i think is a good idea because it is POPPIN busy on the weekends. They seated us at a back table (presumably because of the fact we had the baby with us) but we were still able to see the stage. The music, the ambiance, the company was MAGICAL. Listening to an old jazz man croon Louis Armstrongs "What a Wonderful World", the best rendition i have EVER heard... it was like old Louis's spirit was there with us... The perfect song for the perfect evening.
But lets not forget the FOOD.
Everyone in my group ordered a little differently. Of course, me being a lover of southern food, i sampled as much as i could. If you have never eaten a fried green tomato before in your life, you must try Gator's. You can get them in salad form, or as a side, along with about 12 other side dishes. And the food is MASSIVE and FRESH!! I tried Crawfish Etouffee, it was SPICY but so good i could not stop eating it, the rice was a little undercooked and i would hav eliked twice as much mango salsa than i got. I tried tastes of the Fried chicken salad, which is TRULY southern fried chicken, delicious plump and smokin spicy chorizo clams and mussels, and although i had tried the catfish on my earlier excursion to the old location and thought it was OK, That catfish... that night... was heavenly, not fishy at all, deliciously mild and perfectly breaded. Only dissapointment was that the collard greens were a little on the tough stringy side (could have used another 15 min to braise) and had a very sweet flavor. I prefer my own greens to theirs but they werent inedible at all. All the dishes we tried were the ribs meal, hoppin johns hamhocks, the crawfish etouffee, fired green tomato salad, pork and bourbon sandwich, mussels and clams chorizo, fried chicken salad, and two ordered catfish and hushpuppies. My family has pretty picky tastes and they all had a great time and everyone was STUFFED to the hilt at the end of the night. If you live in the everett area you know there are very few good restaurtants and if you are in the mood for something different, GET TO GATOR!!!
My boyfriend is from Mississippi and LOVES LOVES catfish, and everytime i suggest Gator, his eyes LIGHT up. Granted that you can probably get better catfish in the south, this place is by far the best in the northwest, in my opinion.
And the Sweet Potato Pecan Pie is like ambrosia of the gods.
What could make an experience worth 5 stars? It's not just the food but how the food makes you feel, the experience of eating great food and your surroundings. All that wrapped up and deep fried make it well, Alligator Soul.
Oh Alligator Soul just when I thought that sublime could be your juicy ribs and your tender hush puppies you indulged me with your Jambalaya. Those enormous shrimps and fat clams made my mouth water. Was my mouth crying in joy? Oh yeah. Happy Happy Joy Joy.
Those deep fried pickles made me want to me trashy and watch Maury ALL DAY! Indulgent to say the least. I was scared of the Alligator bites but you made it taste like chicken with the texture of unagi. OH BABY! Pop em in my mouth MORE!
I have to say I was shying away from the old place always too crowded and long waits, but now, you have built your castle on Broadway with additional parking downstairs, amazing live band, open kitchen to view the chefs at play, great wait staff, tons of seating and I am YOURS!
Take me to fatty heaven in a doggy bag because the food is worth my cholesterol raising once a month!

Not much going on up in Everett. This place serves dishes like gumbo, etouffe', etc. and is pretty unique for the area.
Although not a big place, they tend to skimp on staff and service is usually pretty dang slow. If you are going with a group, order ahead or you will wait.
Food is pretty good and huge portions. I always take stuff home, usually the cornbread thingie. Be forewarned, when they say hot, they mean it. I love hot stuff and the etouffe' lit me up once. It's not the best date dish when your nose is running as you try to hold a nice conversation with someone.
It's not great, but it's unique. It may be a bit expensive but you get a lot of food. They do have live music at night, but it's often nothing to get excited about. Still, it's a nice change of pace every once in awhile.

In all fairness I didn't have much of the food, A friend and I made the long haul to Everett to see Slim Pickins, play at A.S.. If you have a chance to catch them - DO! They are phenomenal musicians.
Geez...I wish I had checked out the reviews for this place before going, I would have definitely saved my appetite for some good cajun food. Live and learn...
The service was great, incredibly friendly, they even made room for my friend and myself to sit, despite being totally packed.
I did sample some hush puppies and catfish, which gave me instant Cincinnati flashbacks. True comfort food!
Well worth the trip, which also included driving around Everett lost....

Alright the food was 5 stars but..... I am totally turned off by them placing a time limit on your stay. This place is a half address and square footage is not a selling point. So don't plan to stay for the good blues music just enjoy a super yummy meal and take the rest of your night to another place.
Also try the crab stuffed steak!!

Holy Crap!!!! If ever you're in need of some serious comfort food and you're in the Everett area... this is the place to go. I'm just going to list what we had, cos I'm pretty much too lethargic to do anything else at this point:
Starters: We shared a cup of Snapping Turtle soup that was finished with Sherry.... packed with flavor, I mainly wanted to try this just to say I'd tasted turtle... yummm... the soup base was a very dark roux... it almost looked like a chutney... thick and rich. Between that and the Beignet's we shared, really ...a responsible adult would've stopped right there. The beignets were more like chunks of fried bread than the light/fluffy dumplings I imagined, but hey... I'm all for fried bread... and paired with a side of crawfish white gravy and my personal favorite: Alligator tail picante... big chunks of alligator, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and celery all stewed together with plenty of seasonings.. SO TASTY!
Entrees: T ordered Crawfish Etoufee - yummm!!! Of course, she was so full, that she put her fork down in defeat after about two bites... no worries. Guess what we're having for lunch tomorrow?? :-)
I got the so very wrong: Good Ol' Boy Brisket Deep Fry Po' Boy --- Cumin and brown sugar brisket stuffed inside a sourdough roll then deep fried crispy and really... horribly attractive. Smothered with brown pan gravy and homemade pickles (sweet and a little spicy). Umm, I don't think I really need to say anything here... a delight... yessss! It kinda reminds me of those nights at a bar which shall remain nameless, when the cook was bored, and he'd attempt deep frying whatever we requested in the fish and chip batter... my two favorites were the cheeseburger and the cheesecake (coincidence that they both contained 'cheese'??? methinks not!)
Nothing makes an already great dining experience better than good service. Our server was very cool, and didn't make too much fun of us for barely putting a dent in our entrees. Even when we protested that dessert would really be a bit ridiculous, she brought out a small sample of cake that isn't on their online menu... I believe it was called Almond Annie cake... normally, I'm not a cake fan, but this was so beautiful! A little crunchy with caramelized sugar on the outside, and moist and almondy inside (not too sweet)... served with whipped cream and raspberry coulis. It would have been great with a nice cup of coffee.
I made T take pics of our entrees with her phone... so I'll post them as soon as she remembers to send them to me.

NOW THIS IS A DINING EXPERIENCE!!!!
To the "new" Fillmore Street in SF--here is where you go to take notes on what you need for a successful "hip" restaurant. If this place was in SF, I could see this place having a two hour wait on Saturdays. Trust.
To my friend from Jackson, Mississippi (with ties to New Orleans) who once told me the uglier it is in on the plate and the further South you is (are) the better it'll taste in yo(ur) mouth, I beg to differ.
Ok to those of you who've never been to Everett let me tell you there ain't much there. Really. It looks like the town from Left Behind after the rapture. Still....
I went up there over this last weekend for some family (not mine) time and I read some of you lovely Yelpers reviews. I went on Saturday night and was not disappointed. Greeted by a festive atmosphere filled with poppin' tunes (courtesy of house musicians Star Drummer and Lady Keys) and patrons clapping or nodding their heads along with the music, I knew I had stumbled into a good spot. If you judge the atmosphere without even peeking at the decor (nothing too inspiring) you know you are in for a good time.
The beignets with braised alligator tails in picante and white crawfish gravy--the menu describes them as "fluffy gems of fried lovin'" and I have to agree. There's a new Southern restaurant about to open on Polk just steps from my place and based on the beignets I ate here, they have A LOT to live up to. I could live off of these. Seriously, I'd be 300+ pounds but I'd be HAPPY! The alligator was perfect (as in soft with that distinctly alligator-y flavor not the type where everyone's says it's just like chicken). The crawfish etoufee was delicious and I tried my best to eat as much as I could. Spicy in all the right places and get this--there was more etoufee than rice! Hells yeah! My honey's pulled pork sandwich was very very tasty as well...so tasty that he said forget the sandwich, it's all about this meat! Plus their baked beans...ok I had one bite, just one flimsy bite...but you know how baked beans are supposed to be thick and sweet and smoky with a little spice but most places never get it "quite right" (i.e. too watery, too sweet). Not this place friends...this is where good beans go to get eatin'. I ate to some snappy tunes and swilled some tasty local brew (Boundary Bay)
I think they may only serve local brews but your choice of size is 16oz or 22oz. That's a healthy amount that sound carry you through the meal.
I so wanted to stop for brunch but did not have the chance. I'm still pouting about this.
The staff seems genuinely happy here too. The manager/ owner stopped by to thank me and my honey for coming to eat and we told her if there wasn't a 850 mile drive between us, we'd be back soon.
Seattle, you have no excuses. Drive a half hour. Try it.

I had lunch here, they have great decorations and the bar is right infront displaying some interesting and abnormal beers (always a plus!) and we were seated right away by a cute waitress!
How ever, I ordered a Chicken Po Boy with Chipotle Mustard, and it came out soggy, which made the bread split on the underside, so I had to eat it with a fork! With it, there was an interesting salad with cajun Potato salad, cabbage, and corn, which I also ate with a fork...it was pretty good!
My friend ordered the shrimp Po Boy and did have the sorry problam I had and was able to eat it as a sandwich.
THE BEST PART: Watermelon Lemonade! Make sure you get it if you like lemonade! It's 2.50 vs. 1.75 for a regular coke (or lemonade).
Obligatory Music Review: A variety of blues music, I could pick out some SRV, but the music was fitting and not obtrusive.
Overall, food was good, waitress was great, watermelon lemonade was fantastic!

I've been dispalced in Everett for about a month now with about 2 months togo and I'm determined to embrace the city and contribute to it. This is my first of hopefully many DownTown Everett Reviews.
Alligator Soul is Wonderful. It's seriously one of the only "nice" in a classy sort of way, resturaunt you can find around here. Counting out boring ol Anthony's and Lombardi's.
JAZZ on WEDNESDAY's
Super GREAT WINE, try Castle Rock, it's so yummy and berryish...
Bread Pudding! So Delicious!
They give you a little appetizer while your waiting too.
All in all a super great place, with a good mood, good music and good food!
Congrats Everett! thanks to Alligator Soul I give you your first thumbs up!

AVOID the breaded catfish Ambience, waiters were great. I was raised in FL, AL, TN lived in New Orleans. Ate catfish & caught a few all my life-remember catfish suppers, coleslaw, corn on the cob, hushpuppies topped off with homemade churned peach ice cream and everybody took turns turning it? Can't judge anything else on the menu. Coleslaw, tato salad & corn salad were all good-how can you mess those up? Had 2 large pcs of soggy, oily breaded catfish. After 3 bites of each piece I coulda cried. So tasteless-don't know whether it was in the freezer too long or had been frozen, thawed, frozen, thawed, frozen, thawed till all the consistency was gone-each bite was mush - they may as well have taken it out back & beat it with a an old board. NO flavor at all. I am kickin myself for thinking that in the Pacific Northwest (with it's own fresh wonderful seafood) I could get a real southern fried catfish...who I am kidding...hahahah! My west coast husband will eat anything...I mean practically ANYthing (except lima beans)...he was "starving" & ate all his catfish & when I can't finish my plate will eat mine too! But this time no, he was not impressed & couldn't stomach any more. Also disappointed in the floury, doughy version of "hushpuppies" served. True hushpuppies have mostly cornmeal with a smattering of flour...these were the other way around...mostly flour with a smattering of cornmeal....more like some kinda donut thing. They should stay crunchy...by the time I got home in 20 min. I cut one open for a closer look and they were soft & doughy inside....like from some commercial pre-made fluffy sissy mix. If you are from the south I wouldn't take you here but if you are a "yankee" then I would excepting for the catfish dinner-myself, I'd rather be beat over the head with a dead cat.
It always amazes me how there are so many places out there where, if you give them enough notice, they'll bend over backwards to accommodate diet restrictions. G had called ahead to Alligator Soul a while back during my vegan heyday to see if they could make something vegan for me while a group of us went there for dinner. And boy, did they accommodate! I ended up with an amazing stuffed green pepper that was breaded and deep fried, honeyed potatoes, and a mix of other veggies. Plus hush puppies, fried green tomatoes, and watermelon lemonade!
The carnivores at my table ordered jambalaya, gumbo, catfish, and chicken with peach, I believe. Everyone ate until we nearly burst, and happily rolled on home.

Incredible. Absolutely incredible.
This to me is as good as it gets. Well, as good as it gets when I want Cajun cooking and po boys. While this is a bit away from Seattle, it is well worth the drive.
A nice beer selection to make up for the fact that you can't order a hurricane. Good gumbo with a different take on it, more gravy and a tomato feel to it. Hush puppies that come in groups of 9-12 and are delicious.
He ordered a deep fried pulled pork sandwich that would be anyone's last meal. And I ordered the steak stuffed with crab on a corn fritter. Wow. This meal was orgasmic. I kid you not. The amazing mix of tastes and texture. With the ambiance of a live band playing blues in a nice little place made it all come together for me.
Our waiter was a tad slow but made up for it with a free taste of an appetizer and a taste of bread pudding. Totally classy without the fakeness.
I plan to go here as often as I can!
