Gross gross gross. Greasy, bland and just bad. I pretty much didn't eat Chinese food the entire time I lived in Mission Hill cause this was pretty much the only option. And I love Chinese food, so that was a damn big sacrifice.

No. No. No. No.
I have multiple friends who have gotten food poisoning from here, and it is just an all around sketchy establishment.
Tread carefully....

I had an egg roll craving. They were edible, but kind of lousy - soggy and somewhat empty. I don't often venture outside the confines of Chinese food available from a Poo Poo Platter, but feeling "adventurous," I also got the shrimp lo mein. Although a good amount of shrimp was included, also included was an odd film around many. Against my better judgment, I ate them anyway and didn't die.

Ehh - the food is average and for the prices it goes for, it's not so bad. The delivery is quick and ordering in person averages about 10 minutes. I wouldn't order here on a daily basis, but being 15 minutes from Chinatown, this place does satisfy when you don't want to cook. Perfect for the munchies you get after a night on the town.
AH-SO Grasshopper while traveling on lifes road, try and avoid Brigham circle chinese- unless desperate and you have to have run of the mill chinese egg roll. Now snatch the pebble from my hand before I puke..

***Edit: Turns out, they DID keep a note, and I was credited when I went back a month later, which helped a little (and got them back 1 star), but it was still very annoying at the time.***
The quick-and-dirty: DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY. I suggest pick-up only. Despite a $2 Delivery charge, they are dicks even if they forgot part of your order.
Now the long version: If I was writing this review about a week ago, it would've been four stars, but I'm writing it now: a little more than 24 hours after being horribly spurned in the most egregious way possible by a Chinese food joint. Read on for the horrible details.
Being from New York City, and having grown up with no less than 7 Chinese food places in a five block radius of my house, I tend to be pretty picky with my Chinese food. I expect my wontons to contain pork, and be available pan-fried. I expect a menu to list "General Tso's Chicken," and for that item to contain copious amounts of broccoli. And lastly, I expect a little baggy of fried noodles with my order.
Brigham Circle Chinese fails to deliver with any of these expectations, but in all fairness, so does every Chinese place in Boston. What is this crap, giving me rolls with my lo mein? Anyway, I've gotten used to it. I know what to expect now after my 4 years of fast food mishaps here in New England. So the first time I happened into Brigham Circle Chinese, shortly after moving to the Hill, I ordered pork lo mein (with no vegetables), and boneless spare ribs. I was amazed. Floored. It was love at first bite. Then I went back a week later, and discovered that those two items were the only items worth ordering. But that's fine! Every couple weeks, call 'em up on my way home, place my order of veggie-less pork lo mein and boneless ribs, then pick up a 6-pack next door at ODB and then grab my order from Brigham Circle Chinese. And you're still wondering, what went wrong?
Well, let me tell you. Last night, I was down at the Northeastern dorms hanging out with my friends, and we decided to get some Chinese. My usual order, plus pork fried rice for my friend, and I also requested two cans of Coke. My order showed up in a timely enough fashion, and I tipped the driver two dollars plus the change. Upon returning to my friend's room, not only did I notice a two dollar delivery charge (okay, I said, I'll just note it for next time), but I also noticed they charged me for, but did not deliver, my Cokes. I called them up, and they said they'd bring them back. It's only like, half a mile away, so a half hour later, I called back... and the guy said I got them! He said that he called, and I confirmed that I had gotten them. I argued, and he put me on hold for 20 minutes. Eventually, I hung up and called back, and he said he'd credit me... thing is, I paid cash. And I was very thirsty. I didn't want a credit, I wanted my soda. Not that unreasonable, considering the two dollar delivery charge. The guy on the other end of the line, who eventually told me his name was "Bill," said either I could get two free Cokes next time I go in (free? I just paid for them!) or I could go up to the Circle and pick them up, but they can't deliver them. I tried arguing that I should be credited with the delivery charge, too, since they didn't deliver my full order, but he refused. He was pretty rude about the entire thing: he was mean, blamed me, and flat-out lied and told me I got something I didn't.
I promised Bill I'd never be ordering delivery from them again, and I won't... but I will still be picking up my occasional pork lo mein (no vegetables) and boneless spare ribs. And I'll be back here after the next time I go in to let you all know what happened with my $1.50.

Meh.
Only major pluses were the fact that they deliver, and the veggie fried rice was pretty good.
Everything else was goopy, greasy, had clearly been sitting in the vats under the heat lamps all morning. Beef and broccoli was mostly broccoli, with the occasional gray slab of quasimeat. Chicken and veggies was all sauce. Seasame chicken was all breading and ligaments. Scallion pancakes were fried flour and water.
Super cheap, but still not really worth it.
Okay. You're 20 mins from Chinatown when you're in Mission Hill. So this isn't a place to go if you're looking for tip top Chinese. But there is nothing wrong with it either. After work, and you don't feel like cooking, $15 will feed you and your lover for two days.
Average for Boston chinese food. Doesn't really stand out but isn't awful either. Delivery is usually pretty quick and the food is not overly expensive.
I will give them some great credit though... during the January '05 blizzard, we were at home up on Mission Hill and wanted to get some food delivered (I'm originally from Florida... so I don't do blizzards). Out of all the places we called in the area that deliver (we had called at least 8-10 by then), they had no problem delivering. We had our food in around 45 mins, and they walked to our place to deliver it (the snow was over two feet deep and the hill hadn't been plowed out yet). Needless to say we left a nice tip.

I got take-out from here and it was absolutely terrible. Bland, overly greasy food, for both entrees that I ordered. We ended up throwing it away and ordering a pizza. Turns out our neighbors had warned my husband about the place but he hadn't mentioned it to me. Now I know why.
Some small Chinese food places in Boston scare me. I've ordered from Brigham Circle Chinese various times, and I haven't had any problems. The place appears to be clean. You can see them cooking in the back. The food is pretty good. If taking out, I advice you check your order before leaving. A couple of times, I've gone home to find something other than what I ordered.
typical chinese take-out. about the only thing that earned this establishment 3 stars was the fact that it is the only standard chinese take-out in the brigham circle area. so mission hillers get their fix here.
good delivery service, prompt and friendly staff. not sure how much english they understood though, but who needs english in the chinese take-out realm? they have a small seating area, but i wouldn't suggest eating in... too crowded especially during lunch time when everyone in the area businesses is getting their combination plates to go. the food is standard fare. they have the whole chinese shebang- pork fried rice, dumplings, teriyaki, etc. and all of it is of standard quality. nothing fancy here.
as i said, great for take-out. oh, and they take credit always a plus.
