Our family had an early Mother's Day dinner at Ciao Amore last night and overall, I definitely enjoyed my experience.  The food was brought out family style (there were 18 of us) and the variety and quantity of the food was staggering.  The cost?  $500 pre tip for 18 people!

3 stars for the quality of the food, think Sodini's not A16 or Delfina.  The extra star comes from watching my mom pour herself a scotch out of a brown paper bag-Ciao Amore doesn't have a liquor license so you can bring your own wine without paying a corkage fee.  And in our family's case that means a couple of 1.5 liter bottles for the table and a fifth of scotch for mom.

We went there for lunch.  Pretty much, we had to yell to draw the waiter attention from the kitchen.  There was no waiter in the front most of the time.  The bread was cold and not soft.  The price is very resonable.  There were three of us.  We ordered two pasta and one appertizer.  The appertizer is huge.  The pasta tastes pretty good.  The total including of tips is only $30.

We went to this place based on the recommendations of a couple of people who said it was "one of the best". We're spoiled by real Italian food when we were in Italy so I expected a lot from this restaurant, especially since a couple of people recommended it to us. I have to say that this is "one of the worst" Italian restaurants I've ever eaten at. The sauce they used was universal in all the menu items we ordered and wasn't good. The only thing I liked about this restaurant was you can bring your own wine and the atmosphere. Aside from that, we wouldn't eat here again.
