This little family owned sandwich shop never seems to disappoint. I've been enjoying PSC's chaotically piled deli meat creations for years, and I never leave disappointed. Perhaps their sides could use some guidance, but after eating a PSC mega-sammy a side is just pure gluttony.

If you feel indecisive or adventurous, try the "Trust the Cook", and you'll enjoy a sandwich that resembles a deep lunch meat core sample.

As someone who's eaten sandwiches from Milan to Malaysia, I'm still shocked that one of the best sandwich joints is only a few minutes from my home.

the bf and i have been trying to go the the pasadena sandwich company 2 or three times and JUST missing the closing hours. yesterday we both had the day off and went early. (they close at 2PM)

there is a small inside area and then you could sit in this hallway area that has all these old hats pinned to the ceiling. interesting.

i ordered the ruben. DELICIOUS. corned beef with sauerkraut and swiss cheese. the bf ordered... i think the chicago? it was with corned beef, pastrami, coleslaw and swiss cheese. it was DELICIOUS. the coleslaw made the flavor light so it was good. the pastrami was not too oily and dry so it was just perfect. the corned beef was delicious.

one of the better sandwich shops that we've been to so far =)

I don't know how this place got so many great reviews! I was so excited to get my hands on this sandwich after reading the reviews, but was very disappointed. The sandwich was definitely lackluster, the sides were almost inedible, and I kept having to wash down the bites with coke. Also, the staff there made me wonder if things were sanitary.

Did I order wrong...or did they make me a bad sandwich by mistake? I don't know...but not really planning on going back to find out. For a good sandwich shop...go check out Lovebirds instead in Pasadena. There's also one in Alhambra, but I can't vouch for that one since I've never been there.

Not only are the sandwiches yummy, but the service is fantastic!  Only have 30 minutes for lunch? No problem, you will only need 15 minutes here.  Picking a sandwich will take you longer than it takes them to take your order and bring you the sandwich.  Careful though, the sandwiches are huge!  I usually split a half on a whole with a side of chips or fries and am good.  The pickled tomatoes are good, not too strong and good texture.

Hidden Gem, the sandwiches are great. I use to get the pastrami, which is really tender. However, I don't eat red meat anymore and I've had better pastrami. Moreover, the bread at Pasadena Sandwich Co. is not great. Nonetheless, this place gets 4 stars because it's one of the best sandwich shops in the area.

For about the same amount of money, only a fool would go to Togo's across the street.

If you like sandwiches and you like meat, you'll like PSC. Sandwiches here are typically stacked with layers and layers of meat and cheese and cole slaw salads. Of course it has huge veggie sandwiches too, but they aren't as good, unless you like eating grass or something. But that's just my opinion. On top of that, the workers here are pretty chill and friendly. I always feel like my day gets brighter whenever I walk out of PSC.

The bottom line is that PSC makes good sandwiches that will satisfy your gluttonous cravings. It's worth a visit.

Food is 4/5, price is 3/5, feel is 4/5. Total is about a 3.7 out of 5 based on a 50/30/20 split for food/price/feel.

Darn you, Pasadena Sandwich Company.  Darn you to heck.  You've ruined me from ever being able to order a sandwich anywhere else.

It's not hard to see why.  The meat is cooked on-site and as far as I can tell it's sliced fresh for each sandwich.  Veggies are crisp, fresh, and delicious - I've never eaten a veggie sandwich here, but I'll bet you a nickel it would be good.

The sides are also excellent.  So far I've stuck with potato-based sides, namely fries and potato salad, but they're both excellent examples of their kind.  Crisp fries, creamy potato salad with a zing and not too much extra stuff.

The portions are pretty huge, but I've had decent luck with saving half of the sandwich I get for lunch and then eating the other half for dinner.  The French Roll seems to hold up pretty well for a few hours. I don't know if they'd keep overnight, though.  But then again, the sandwiches are so good that you may not be able to stop yourself from eating the whole thing right then and there!

If you love food and especially large over the top sandwiches, you'll have to come here.  Went here for lunch today, it was my second time coming here.  Without a doubt, one of my favorite sandwich joints for these reasons and probably in this order: 1) They make huge sandwiches, 2) Lots of variety for just about anyone, and 3) they are a small operation and do it because they love it, not to primarily turn a profit.

You really can't go wrong with any sandwich you choose here.  I didn't enjoy the Trust the Cook the one time I got it because they just seem to make you a sandwich that's quick and easy for them instead of one that's awesomely good (like I said I only got it once), but the Chicago was a nice choice for us.   Don't even try to order fries (not that they're bad), unless you are only going to eat half your sandwich.  Only thing I wish they had were longer hours, so I could grab a sandwich for dinner.

Price: Generally less than $7 for a freaking huge sandwich
Food: Very Good (and at these prices, just fabulous!)
Service: Good (order at the counter)
Ambiance: OK (It's a small operation so you'll get a small operation atmosphere)
Location: Good (There are lots of stuff around there like retail shopping to other eateries.  That kind of makes parking hard to find, but most people seem to order to go.)

OK, I understand that because I am vegan, my sandwich options at a non-vegan sandwich shop are going to be fairly limited.  Basic veggies on wheat with mustard.  There you have it.  Yeah, it's a huge sandwich.  Yeah, I had to eat the top half separately from the bottom half because the sandwich was too big for even my big mouth.  But when it all comes down to it, and this is certainly not the sandwich shop's fault, I am slightly more likely to be impressed by the sandwiches here as I am to be impressed by a veggie sub at Subway.

What did impress me, however, was this:

Super-Friendly Waitress:  How are your sandwiches?
Me:  Great, thanks!
SFW:  And how's your iced tea? (I ordered a home-brewed passion fruit iced tea)
Me:  I gotta be honest.  I'm not nuts about this iced tea.  It tastes a little funny.
SFW:  (looking worried)  Really?  You don't like it?  Can I replace it with another drink?
Me:  (impressed) No, that's OK.  Thanks.
SFW:  Would you like me to top it off with another kind of tea to help the taste?
Me:  (even more impressed) No, but thanks.
SFW:  Are you sure?
Me:  Yeah, but thanks.
(my dining companion and I look on, awestruck, as SFW leaves apologetically)

That, my friends, is what will bring me back to this place.

Oh, and did I mention that there are crayons on the table?  Because there are crayons on the table.  Every restaurant ever should have crayons on the table, period.

Probably the best cold cut sandwich I've had in a long time.

Stacked with meat and cheese, I could barely finish half a sandwich, too bad they don't take refrigeration well.  They really stack the meat and cheese so come with a friend and split it if you aren't that hungry.

Employees are friendly, prices are not bad although they've gone up and the prices haven't been updated on their website.  its about 6-7 a
sandwich and comes with peppers.  You can call em and then pick up if you dont wanna stay so its pretty convenient in that way too.

Definately recommend this place, I'm going back for the pastrami next time.  Parking is not that great and somewhat of a pain to get out of though, so be careful or you could always park at the Bed, Bath, Beyond across the street.

I have come to Pasadena Sandwich Company only two times, and everytime that i went there, they had a delicious, scrumbcious looking sandwich that could fill anyone up. Their sandwiches are thick, moist, and meaty, and they always overfill it for you. The people there are hospitable, and they greet you everytime you come there. They always respect you, and give you anything that you ask for. Also, their service is always speedy. Its only a few minutes later after you order that you get your food. Their sides are also delightful, and plentiful, including chili cheese fries (which im a big fan of), and some other things. They make their food very clear to their customers, having the same menu on the table, where you order, and they even give you one once you sit down. The people in the kitchen are super nice, and theyll do anything for you, whatever it is. The only thing is, is that the waitress's could be a little bit nicer. But otherwise, the food there is gigantic, and their service is out of this world! GO PSC!

This is my favorite sandwich place to hit, if I make it there that is =P

The Chicago:  This is a very meaty and tasty sandwich.  I don't like swiss but I love it on this =d

Roast Pork Dip:  If they have it, get it.  They usually run out of the pork, unless it's a Friday...haha...

The New Jersey:  Got it mixed with The New York once and was highly disappointed.  This one has roast beef and turkey with a russian dressing.

Their fries are also very good.  Nice and crisp =d

I like the Asian lady, very nice =)  Sometimes I wonder how they can give you all that food at those prices.  Seriously, the avg pricing for a GIANT sandwich is $8!

I've lived about a mile from this place for more than two years, and I never even knew it existed until last week.  After I found out about it here on Yelp, I decided to bring my buddy with me to try it.  He wasn't as hungry as I was, and I knew he was in trouble when he asked the waitress, "What's the smallest sandwich you have here?"  She just smirked at him and responded with the most sinister laugh I've heard in a long time.  Score!

This has got to be the best little sandwich shop in the city, county, and perhaps even the state.  Absurdly huge portions, thick slices, and the meat is freshly cooked on site.  When you order a turkey sandwich, you will literally get slabs of breast meat (still warm) sliced off a real turkey breast - none of that salty, processed, water-added, reconstituted, turkey-in-a-blender crap.  It's a very small step away from your mama's Thanksgiving dinner turkey.  An enormous, fresh, O.G. sandwich for roughly the same money you would spend at Subway.

These sandwiches aren't just big - they're ridiculous.  Come hungry or don't come at all.  No joke.

The turkey and roast beef here are phenomenal. Separate, or paired in a sammi - I recommend paired, with their thousand island dressing.

The sammies are so humungo, but need to be eaten all at once, as the bread does not  hold up well with the dressings they use.

I appreciate the big slices of tomatoes they use and the sheer vertical size of the sandwich! Not the best bread, and the sammie is difficult to eat for a small mouthed girl, but the meats, mmm the turkey especially make up for these minor drawbacks.

Sangwiches at this place are huuuuuuuge. I usually only order a half. They're pretty good, but nothing spectacular. Fries are pretty good too, but again, nothing to rave about. The waitress chick always seems like she's tweaking though. Oh, and they only have pepsi, no coke so keep that in mind.

HUGE sandwiches! Made right after you order with fresh ingredients, and how you like it. I personally like the Roast Pork Dip, Turkey with Pepperjack cheese, and their Tuna salad sandwich. The sandwiches here will satisfy your hunger pains, and not leave a dent on your wallet. Nothing fancy about this place, in fact it's rather small. But what it lacks in flash, it makes up with it's sandwiches. The employees here are nice and friendly, and it's owner operated so you get quality along with the service.

PSC has been a staple in the city of Pasadena for years, and they wouldn't be in business that long if their food wasn't incredibly good.

They claim they make all the meats themselves. I believe them.  My jaws ache everytime I try to fit my entire mouth over them. . .what ends up happening is that I end up with a mouthfull of bread, becase all the meat gets squished out the back.  Boo.

The prices aren't cheap, but I think they're worth the whole pig/chicken/turkey/cow they shove between the two-three-four slices of bread they use.  The people working there are very friendly and nice, but my one and biggest complaint about them are the weird business hours.  Only open for lunch my ass!!!  I want to eat a sandwich the size of my head for dinner one of these days!

I really wanted to love the place - it had the potential to be my favorite obscure, whole-in-the-wall sandwich joint.

I sprung for the "Trust the Chef" - which perhaps explains my giving 3 stars rather than 4 or 5.  No doubt, it was a MONSTER sandwich.  It was honestly one of the biggest sandwiches I've ever had.  The best way to describe what I ended up eating was a Frankenstein of sandwiches... one slice white bread, one slice wheat bread.  Some ham, some turkey, some roast beef... swiss, american, provolone thrown together into a sloppy meatwich.

Thats about it.  The bread could have very well been Wonder Bread and the cold cuts were nothing mind blowing.

I'll give it another try, but this time, I'll be sure to exercise my right to choose what kinds of meats and cheeses I want in my sandwich.

I realize I'm totally in the minority here. I had the pastrami...and I'm sorry, it was gross.  It was really, really fatty and their au jus sauce tastes like something you can make from a Mc Cormick packet.  I don't like the giant pickle halves in the sandwich either.  I guess I'm used to San Luis Obispo delis because this was just WAY to heavy.  Bleh.

Seriously how good can a sandwich be? It's just two pieces of bread and a buncha meat and stuff in between, no big deal.  Anyone can make a sandwich so really is there a reason to even review a sandwich place?  The answer to that question is... YES!!  Especially if it's an amazingly delicious one like this place.

Ok, I have to admit, I walked in kinda skeptical... I mean it's sandwiches, how good can it really be right??  We got 2 sandwiches, the Hot Roast Beef and the New Yorker.  I was a bit startled at the price, wow, 2 sandwiches and drinks for almost $20... yikes, kinda steep for a sandwich place!  But....  when we got our food.... and I saw how it was overflowing with meat and cheese....  I was shocked.  Ok but we all know portion does not equal good food.  I quickly took a bite...  Oh.....My..... nom nom nom!!  Such great ingredients, such texture, such *droOool*  ...  now THIS is a sandwich.  THIS is how a sandwich is made....   the cheese, the meat.... all so good!!  I can't describe it with words, drool keeps forming in my mouth as I reminisce about it.

Next time I come back, which will be soon, I will definitely just order 1 sandwich to share so I can try some of their other stuff.

Simply put....  if you want a sandwich... definitely try this place, you won't regret it.

Service - friendly
Food - *droOol*
Price - definitely worth every penny

Any Grips?  hMmm....  yah ... I wish it had better hours.

Trust the chef - always.

Giant sandwiches, full of meat and lettuce and cheese and a perfect balance of condiments (I like adding mustard to taste as I go).

I have a big mouth so really, these are no competition for my chompers.  But they are quite intimidating.

My favorite is the service - the lady that has helped us the last two times we have been in is super full of energy and quite a talker and I enjoy her exhuberance for sandwiches.  She is a bit intense but seriously a friendly lady and I like outgoing people.

Price ain't so bad either.  But make sure you eat your whole sandwich because above mentioned lady will give you a hard time if you want a doggie bag.  Pickles and fries and ginormous drinks are a bonus.

Plus I loved the decor and even found an SCTA hat, took a picture to send to my Dad (he's a car guy).

Eat a big ass sandwich and walk it off at the stores across the way.

Hmmmm.... so I have to wonder, are all these 5 star reviews for the enormous size of the sandwiches? Because in that case, yeah, they serve one of the biggest sandwiches I've ever eaten. And honestly, the service is really great - friendly waitstaff who know their regulars and fast service.

My only issue is that the meat they use is sliced very very thick. Now, I'm not a fan of super thin, see through deli meat. But honestly, it's hard to chew 1/2" thick pieces of pastrami, especially with the gristly bits. In fact, it's kinda stomach turning. When you are physically unable to chew down parts of the sandwich and end up spitting them into your napkin - well, ugh. Nuff said.

But 1 star for service, 1 star for local business, and 1 star for the potato salad. Which was really good, especially as I'm not particularly fond of potato salad.

After writing my House of Pies review (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) earlier today, I was really craving a reuben sandwich. CRAVING a reuben sandwich. Luckily, I had decided earlier that day to get sandwiches with a friend for lunch.

Honestly, that was probably the best decision I made all day.

Pasadena Sandwich Co. is a little joint across the street from that the shopping plaza on Foothill that serves HUGE sandwiches. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and they gave it to me - the corned beef was in nice thick strips, there were piles of sauerkraut and they definitely didn't skimp on the swiss cheese. I was full after eating half of it, and this is the girl who eats her weight in food when she goes to buffets. This was one serious sandwich.

The service was pretty quick too. One of the waitresses who wrapped up our food apologized for the "slow service" while my friend and I looked at her in confusion. I mean, we got our food within minutes and I didn't notice anything lacking so if that was slow service, I really wonder what it's like when they're fast.

Mmmm...I love it when you get exactly what you're looking for.

If you're looking for a nice hearty meal that gives you the bang for your buck, this is the place! =p
I had the Chicago (remind you this is a triple decker) and I finished that sucker so clean, I did not waste a penny!
The pastrami was nice, fatty and warm, OVERFLOWING with goodness..the corned beef was tasty without being to salty and the coleslaw and swiss cheese just topped it off real nice~
(okay, I think the pastrami was sliced a bit too thick, but that's ok b/c it wasn't dry and old)
But after the meal, you get stuck with the guilt of the huge calorie intake so  I get a little cranky.. i'm sure you can order something like a cold turkey sw, but i'm a hot sw kind of gal =p
My friends had cold sandwiches and they all thought it was so-so, but I think that's all their own fault for ordering something that didn't even sound good in writing...
I think the most important part of making a great sandwich is the BREAD...without great bread, you can't have a great sandwich...
Their bread was typical...I didn't get the freshness and texture I like in rye or the sourdoughs...too bad.
Other than that, it's a great budget place...2 ppl can share 1 sandwich and a side and be very content for under $20.

Damn!  Now that's a big sandwich.

I was returning something at Bed Bath and Beyond when I spotted this little non-descript joint across the street.  I was missing Papa Don's (being way across town this day) and wanted to get a quick lunch.  PSC did not disappoint.  As noted in previous reveiws, they are fast with a deli knife.   The staff is quite nice, attentive, and quick.

I ordered my beef dip and it came in 5 flat.  A huge portion of rare roast beef, au jus, and three pickle spears.  The 'wich was really large and I definitely couldn't finish it.  But that's ok...I took the meat home for dog-dog and went on my way.

Yeah, the sandwich didn't really wow me, but I'd rather buy my lunch from a local eatery than a chain any day.  And what the 'wich lacked, they made up for in service and pickles.  Bravo!

BTW, I encountered another "People on YELP love us" sticker here.

This small sandwich shop is definitely one of the best sandwich places in the San Gabriel Valley, if not all of LA County. They have a large menu selection of sandwiches, and each and every choice is guaranteed to be LARGE. If you can't make up your mind what you want that day, you can order the "Trust the Cook" sandwich, which never has failed to disappoint. (Be prepared for a little bit of everything) Even during peak times, the service has never been slow or sloppy. If you are in a hurry you can place your order ahead of time by phone. The prices might be a little higher than the Subway and Togo's chains, but you won't be left unsatisfied by the size or quality of your order. You won't be disappointed by a big French Dip, Pastrami, or a more customized sandwich like the Chicago or the Sheepherder. If that isn't enough order some fries to go along with it. This is a great place to grab a sandwich and everyone should try it at least once.  Once you do try it you'll probably be back.  Unless of course, you're seriously trying to diet.

Pros: Big Sandwiches, Good Service, Good Value

Cons: Parking sometimes a problem. Limited Seating. Lines in the dining area.  They close early.  Is a lunch only place.

You will not be hungry after eating here.  Steve makes a mean sandwich.  This is beyond a deli sandwich.  The Californian is my favorite.  They use only the best meat and cheese. The potato salad is excellent and the soup is always yummy.

The waitstaff is always friendly and eager to go the extra mile to make you happy.

Okay people the key word is: HUGE. I really was not expecting my Chicago style pastrami/corn beef, swiss sandwich be so big when the cost is only $6.50 (Chicago style: coleslaw inside the sandwich). Totally worth every penny. You can create your own sandwich or go with the chefs choice (you can share any sandwich). This place is located right across from the El Torito, Old Navy, Bed Bath Beyond, and Best Buy, so after shopping your brains out run across the street for a sandwich.  They only open for lunch so call ahead for hours. Here is the website so you can check out the menu:  http://www.pasadenasan.... ENJOY!!!

Ordered:
Trust the Cook - Turkey, ham, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, mustard and mayo
32oz Iced Tea

It's 20 miles away for me, but it is totally worth the trip. Here's a tip for anyone heading out there. The Sierra Madre exit is NOT the same as the Madre Street exit. That little bit of trivia cost me an hour of wandering around. Which was enough time for them to close before I got there, 3pm on weekends. Anyway, I followed up two Saturdays ago and got there at a more reasonable hour. Having read the reviews here, I knew the Trust the Cook was the thing for me. The premise is that you get what ever the cook feels like giving you. This is not a new concept for me. I do this all the time at other places. I call it Russian Roulette and it's a great way to try things you would not normally order.

Back to the sandwich. The pictures posted here really don't do this place justice. The sandwich was a monster. Just remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint. The best way to attack this thing is to remove about half the cheese and meats from the sandwich, make little finger rolls and dip them into the deli mustard which my server was kind enough to provide. What remains is now a somewhat manageable, but still jaw-breakingly large sandwich. The sandwiches really are the star of the show here, but the supporting cast really adds to the overall experience. Big pickle, hot peppers, orange slices, 32oz iced tea with FREE refills, coloring paper table cover for the kids, fabulously non-pretentious cardboard plates. They're all winners.

Update 2007-11-03
Ordered:
The Shepparder
Large Fries
32oz Passion Fruit Iced Tea

I met a nice couple who recognized me from the previous week. They asked me where I heard about PSC. So I talked up Yelp and pointed out the sticker that was proudly displayed on the window at PSC. I ordered the Shepparder. It's a triple decker with corned beef, pastrami, turkey, salami and swiss. Everybody now... rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens, ... these are a few of my favorite things! Color me satisfied. I also ordered large fries, just to show them all who was in charge. The passion fruit iced tea with orange slices was delish as well. My waitress complimented me on being able to finishing everything. I proceeded to regale her with tales of my feats of gastronomic heroism, like slaying a 76oz steak in 30 minutes. She was all over my action after that.

... Yes, the sandwiches are big, Yes they are FAST, and the service is great, nice people. It was busy, do they have a following..
but t it didn't WOW me..

... I got the tuna.. and it was a freakin monster.. but nothing extra special. Just normal bagged bread, big slab of tuna with veggies.. simple. .. and it was $7! ...

... But, if you are curious.. you should still go. It is worth trying for yourself. Some people seem to LOVE it. I prefer Europance or Lovebirds with fresh baked bread, normal portion sizes and some creativity in the offerings.

... and there is a vegetarian sandwich for the veggie people... though, it is predominately about the big slabs of meat.

Pilipinos (not Pilipino-Americans, mind you) are sometimes crazy. Before you light the torches and bring out the pitchforks, please know I am Pilipino(-American), so I know what I'm talking about and because for some reason, sandwiches are considered snack food in the PI. Thank goodness there are places like The Pasadena Sandwich Co. to prove them wrong.

They are the best thing to happen to sliced bread. It's not fundamentally difficult to make a sandwich yourself, but why waste your time when they make amazing, fresh, large, tasty sandwiches at a steal of a price? You shouldn't. Just let them do it for you. And they are happy to do so.

Service is "Wait, are you sure this one was made for me?" fast and very sassy...or maybe the sass came from the fact she wasn't comfortable with the fact that my dining partners and I all refused onions because we were going to have a hot, post-lunch lesbian make out session with each other and onion funk's pretty gross...(You know we're joking because we're all happy with our respective men and are very comfortable with our sexuality to the point we gladly check out each others' cleavage. What?)

Six bucks Makes two hearty meals. Cute, tiny of a place makes a great atmosphere. It's close to the freeway, too, so you're running out of excuses to go here, and no car? This place is MTA Gold Line accessible from the Sierra Madre Villa station!

You're running out of excuses. Just go, already.

Whenever I have out of town company I always take them here for lunch.
PSC never fails to impress. I consider my self a big eater but always  manage to take a half sandwich home HOWEVER  that said I find myself poking into the refrig at home for the rest of the day savoring little bites of my precious Del Mar. MMMMMMM!  Self control be dammed! It is always gone by  that evening. This for me is  the 2nd yummy  part of a wonderful sandwich experience. Steve is a sweetheart as are all of his staff. I once brought my dog and sat at a sidewalk table in the front .The waitress  brought him a huge(why expect less) plate of meaty leftovers. We were both in hog heaven!

we came to this place for a nice quick lunch. wilson had been here before. we sat down and i was amazed to see so many hats up on the wall. the service is nice and i had some fun doodling on the table that is covered with white paper.

wilson and i shared an egg salad sandwich and some fries. PRETTY DARN GOOD!!! for a sandwich, it was awesome. price was decent too. usually people dont do egg salads right (at least in some of the places that i've order it at) but this place had it just right. the french fries were also perfect. not soggy, not extremely crunchy. we would definetely come here again for some lunch. its totally worth it.

"See that little spot over there? It's a hidden gem," my friend proclaimed, pointing to a small sandwich shop around the corner of Foothill and Sierra Madre Villa. Reading all of these reviews, I guess PSC is not exactly hidden but definitely a gem. What else should I have expected from Yelpers, after all? They sniff out the best places like huffers with Whip-It.

I made sure to come here around 11:45 to beat the lunch crowd. My timing was perfect; the servers were super friendly and lightning quick with my order. When they handed me my to-go bag, I was stunned by how heavy it was. I knew it would be big, but DAYAMMM. I ordered the Del Mar, a fresh kaiser roll stuffed with tons of jack cheese, turkey, ham, and roast beef. As much as I love meat, I had to take out half of it just so I can fit the damn thing into my mouth (and I have a big mouth!). By the time I ate half of my sandwich, I was done and DONE. I offered the other half to my roommate, who didn't hesitate to take it off my plate. Two meals for the price of one? Hell yeah, I'm definitely a fan.

Thanks to Ara D. for the info on the Veggie Supreme.

Also thanks to Corazon R. for mentioning MTA accessibility.  You need to know that I leave really far away (Torrance is not anywhere near Pasadena).  Also, you should know that while I love using public transportation in other cities I've visited like NYC and D.C., I really have never used the LA MTA and I've lived in socal my whole life.  It got me thinking that maybe I should give it a try so I planned my trip online (metro.net), bought me some tokens, and away I went.  It only cost me $7.50 round trip and it gave me plenty of time to read my book!  It would have only been $5 if I had bought a day pass...live and learn.  It was an easy and pleasant experience.  This is starting to turn into a review of the MTA so sorry about that but you owe it to yourself to try it sometime.

Back to the PSC...so I ordered the Veggie Supreme, and I went to the men's room to wash my hands.  When I got back after what seemed like maybe 90 seconds tops, my sandwich was sitting on the table.  Wow, that's fast!

Listen people, this sucker was big, I mean BIG BIG BIG!  Aside from a generous amount of avocado, there were sprouts, green pepper, and sliced red onion.  But the thing that made this a monster was the layer of sliced tomatoes and the very thick slices of cheese.  I've never seen swiss cheese that thick before and it was either 3 or four slices.  I felt bad but I had to remove a slice or two to help get it in my mouth and 'cause I didn't think I could eat that much cheese.  Delicious and very filling for sure.

It was a great end to my first (but not last) LA public transportation adventure!

Quit fooling around. Time to get with a REAL sandwich, PSC style.

On my first visit, I picked up the sandwich with both hands, burst through the doors, ran into the street, spinning around, laughing hysterically, shouting, "I love you!" Ok, you got me -- that only happened in my mind. Instead, my beast-like reflexes kicked in and I was all over that sandwich, snarfing it like nobody's business. Stacked high and packed with meat, this is the kind of sandwich fantasies are made of.

Tips: "Trust the Cook."

When you go to PSC, you go there to do work on the big, BIG, BIGGER, BIGGEST sandwiches ever. These sandwiches are not for the faint of heart, and be prepared to rest for a bit because you'll be a food coma and will feel like napping. You know what I'm talking about (the sleep after a delicious meal, like heaven).

The sandwiches aren't only big but are delicious. Go for the Chicago. It is bomb. Its got this magical cole slaw that will make you go downtown loco. Ask for extra russian dressing. This shit is the bomb.

The servers are also super cool. They're unique and funny. I'll see you there. Be prepare to do work, and never ask for just half of the meat (like a guy I saw. I just shook my head). GO NOW!
