Before spending your money anywhere else, check this place out ...it's
amazing! they have an incredible selection of the most beautiful
designer gowns, all for unbelievable prices...but do your homework first so you actually know what different designers cost, then add on all the extras like tax, alterations etc...etc...
I was totally surprised not only by the money that I saved but by the entire experience. I found out about One Night Affair from a friend of a friend, so I didn't take it seriously in the beginning, but later on after I saw what the stores were charging for bridal gowns, I decided to check it out and was absolutely floored, my gown was incredible, I saved $1200.00 and most importantly...I looked gorgeous!!!
Trust me it's worth an hour out of your day to check this place out before dishing out all that cash to buy a gown that you'll never wear again.......Alysa
I went to One Night Affair to rent my wedding gown for my June 7, 2008 wedding. I didn't know what to expect, considering that I've never done this before. I was very impressed with the selection and the Designers that they carried and found many that were beautiful, but decided to continue shopping until I was positive that I found the perfect dress. I went to all the stores in Beverly Hills, then decided to try the stores along Ventura Blvd. to see if the prices would be better. After 3 solid weeks of shopping and price comparing, I ended back at One Night Affair and rented the first dress I had ever tried on. It was a Design by Rivini, it was not only beautiful, but looked like it was made specifically for me. I had been price comparing and knew this designer was around $3000.00 to $4000.00 in the other stores, so I was thrilled to rent it for $800.00. I also had my Bridesmaids rent evening gowns from them, they all picked out a style that they looked best in, all in black. All eight of us had nothing but wonderful things to say about the entire staff, they were a joy to work with and since I wasn't a bridezilla, it was a really fun experience!
The Best SECRET in Los Angeles!!!
I found One Night Affair when my son CJ was up for best supporting actor, for the movie "Ray", at the NAACP awards.
I have to say I looked FANTASTIC!
I had people stopping me the entire night. The gown was absolutely stunning and I have to say the service I received was first class. The girls in the store were so much fun and I had such an amazing selection to choose from.
I think they are the hottest thing going.....
They've become my new closet!!!

This place doesn't even deserve one star. The glowing reviews below have got to be fake.
I made the mistake of renting a wedding dress here. Customer service is REPULSIVELY bad. They fawn on you while you try on gowns and after you've been complimented for awhile and guaranteed that the dress can be altered quickly and inexpensively, you might make the mistake of actually renting.
Don't.
Its just as expensive as buying a dress, and the alteration pricing is totally arbitrary. When i initially tried on the gown, it fit like a glove. Well, i got KILLED on alterations because the person who wore it before me was a totally different size. If i had tried the dress on at the state it was in when i went in for my fitting- i never would have rented it.
So, here I am with a yellowed dress, terrible customer service, and egg on my face for thinking renting was a good- or even economical idea.
And- the place was rude to my mom (who is the nicest 2nd grade teacher this world has seen) and my best friend/ maid of honor who was DENIED SERVICE. No way.
f*&^ this noise.

edited to say " One Night Affair " in the review so people googling this place can see my honest review.

In 2000, I had a wonderful experience with this business. Needing a dress for my Senior Prom, I found the listing online. Curious, I went with my mom. I found a beautiful dress and received, from what I remember, quality service. It was a gorgeous red dress that received complements all night.
Now... fast forward seven years later.
I recommended this place as an alternative to buying and having to keep a dress you'd never want to wear again to a few friends. Needing a dress for an upcoming wedding, I decided (since I had fond memories from seven years prior) to rent my dress from here.
Unfortunately, from the minute that I stepped into the store, I knew that I had made a mistake. "Customer Service" was no longer a functional word in One Night Affair's vocabulary. Neither was "honest, upfront information", "correct and proper feedback regarding alterations and charges" and, honestly "current, non horrendous looking rental jewelry that actually looks like you didn't find it from the bargain section of the Goodwill grab bag".
Additionally, when I went in for my second fitting, I received no service - apart from someone telling me that the dress that I'd come to pick up was in one of the changing rooms. And if you're thinking that this was because the store was incredibly busy and that they just didn't have time, let me ease your mind in stating that there was only one other person receiving service at the store. The other sales person was casually sitting behind the counter, flipping through a magazine. The only assistance she offered was to tell me that a piece of clearly outdated and from the 80s jewelry that I was forcing myself to try on with my dress "looked good" and that each jewelry piece was $20 to rent.
The reason why I chose to rent my dress rather than buy one was that I didn't want to have an object in my closest that would collect dust. However, after this experience, I will not go back and give my money to a business that, for whatever reason, chose not to think that customer service is still an important two letter word combination in the English language.
I've said my piece regarding this establishment.
Now you can decide for yourselves.
PS: The alterations are a JOKE. Remember, you're actually only paying for the idea that you'll never have to see the dress again, except in pictures. You're paying to keep your closet clear, but you're still going to pay basically the same price for a dress.
PPS: There's a reason why a lot of the labels have been cut out of the dresses.....

I have had several wonderful experiences with One Night Affair, starting with my wedding gown which I rented for my wedding last year. I rented a beautiful designer wedding gown and saved thousands of dollars. My overall experience was excellent starting with the great customer service to the wonderful fit of the gown. My mother and I had so much fun with the girls at One Night Affair who gave us great one on one attention and with their help and expertise I found the wedding gown of my dreams! I would suggest to every bride to go rent your gown wedding gown from One Night Affair because you will save so much money, get great service, and a great fit. The seamstress who altered my gown did an amazing job.
I just returned once again to One Night Affair to get another gown, this time for a Christmas party... And once again, my experience was wonderful. I got a beautiful gown which I absolutely love and would have paid a fortune for if I bought it at a department store.
I highly recommend One Night Affair to everyone, no matter what your occasion!!

Ok, I am catching up on my reviews. I came here to look for a dress to rent for the Yelp Prom. When I called to make the appointment, I was told that I the cost would be around $100 (less not more). So I arranged to come by to see what they had that would work.
Yes, the parking lot is small, but I had no problem finding a spot. Service was ok -- they were very complementary of how the dresses looked on me, but I didn't think they looked that good. Granted, I don't like dressing up. The dresses were too glittery for what I was looking for and the cost was more than I budgeted, closer to $200 before any alterations that might be needed. Wish they had been honest at the beginning, then I wouldn't have wasted my time and theirs. Maybe if I needed to go to some fancy-dancy awards show, but I doubt that will ever happen - I don't run in those circles.
One Night Affair Is Spectacular!!! Wow what service we got. Every one was so friendly and helpful. I just love the one stop shopping theme they have there. I found everything I needed for the 5 star event I was going to. The selection of dresses were over the top. I am a Doctors wife & can basically buy what ever I want. But, why would I want to do that if I can rent a $10,000 gown that I recently saw at Neiman Marcus, for a fraction of the price. The alterations were fabulous & extremely affordable. I never looked so good. My husband was so impressed by all the Money I saved that he told me to go buy Diamonds!!
Greatfully Mona
Yeah parking sucks
and yeah I was a little rushed
and yeah I was told I was tiny.
But whatever I found my dress and even though I spent $700, after my wedding I was soooooooooo glad not to have to deal with my dress. You know, the whole take it to the cleaners (esp. since it was kinda muddy from the picts in the park) and package it and find a place to store it for the rest of its life.
Yeah, I have pictures of the gown and thats all I want.
I guess more than anything I paid for the peace of mind that all I had to do after the wedding was send the husband to return it and get ready for my honeymoon.
Peace of mind can be expensive.

When I first drove by this place, I didn't want to stop. The parking lot is tiny and the outside of the building looked like a cheesy craft store that lil ol grandmas shop at.
But since I made my appointment, I decided to go ahead with it. Inside, it smelled of old fabric and some kind of cleaning product.
There were dresses practically falling from the ceiling. There were SO many dresses. Quantity does not mean quality. Most of them looked like those 80's wedding gowns with lace everywhere and poofy sleeves.
Then why the three stars you ask? They do have some great dresses, but it's just a handful. I was lucky enough to rent a $10,000 Badgley Mischka dress for about $1400 with alterations.
Customer service is great when you haven't rented your dress yet. The ladies swoon all over you and tell you how "tiny" you are and how you'd look georgeous in any damn gown in the store. Once I went back for alterations however, it felt more like I was in a place called "One Night Stand," because everyone ignored me and stopped swooning.

I rented my wedding dress from here and I was very impressed with the overall experience. The parking lot is small and hard to get into like the other reviewere posted. I made my appointment on a Saturday because I work during the week. They told me I would have about an hour but I felt rushed from the moment I walked in. I think that is because an hour really isn't enough time to look at wedding dresses.
The salesgirl was helpful but very much a "salesman". They also don't tell you were to look for your size because they say they can alter many of the dresses to fit you. I picked out a dress that was too small but they said they could add a panel in the back and you would be able to tell.
When I went in for my fitting with the seamstress, again I was rushed and they were busy. She pinned the panel in the back of the dress and it looked terrible. You could plainly see how it was being altered so while it might photography well everyone else would be able to tell.
I had to pick out a new dress that was my size 2 weeks before my wedding. Also, the dresses all seem really worn and dirty even though they say they clean them. The alterations are really expensive also because you have to get themd one there so they can basically charge you a standard price.
I ended up loving my dress and feeling beautiful on my wedding day but for the expense (about $895 for Vera Wang ball gown) I wouldn't rent again.

Keep looking! The place is dark, cold and the dresses are mostly from the 80's. The ladies swoon all over you before you rent. After, they pretty much forget your name. They are certainly not in it for the customer service factor, they are there to simply rent the dresses. The parking lot is very small.
I don't know about any of you, but I know that I can't be seen in the
same gown more than once!!! Just think about it.....men have been
renting their tuxedos for decades, it's about time that someone came
up with the concept of renting dresses for woman. I'm in the
entertainment business and attend premieres all the time, I'm
photographed in my gowns, so I don't want to get caught wearing it a
second time!!! So renting a fabulous gown whenever I need one has not
only made my life so much easier (I don't have time to shop malls and
boutiques on a regular basis) but it also has saved me so much money.
I could care less if the parking isn't great, that kind of goes along
with finding a great bargain, and if anyone has checked out the prices
of fully beaded evening gowns, $$$ in the thousands, I am absolutely
thrilled with this place. The owner is constantly getting new gowns
that are really unique (I also don't want to take the chance of
showing up in the same gown as someone else has), they also listen to
suggestions I have when they're ordering new styles.
I recommend this place to everyone, it's huge, and yes there's an
enormous inventory so it takes a while to go through everything, but
the girls are fantastic and have great suggestions and really know
their stuff!!!
Check it out!

I regrettably rented my two wedding dresses from One Night Affair in May 2007 and was promised that these dresses would be in "perfect" condition when I was to pick them up two days before my wedding. Going to the fittings was the worst, they were never ready for my appts. and even after waiting around I would be rushed when it was finally my turn. Two days before my wedding, I lived one of the worst dress nightmares a bride could go through--my dresses were NOT ready as scheduled--not altered or cleaned. When I came back the day before my wedding, the dresses were still visibly dirty, stained, and unpressed. To make matters worse, the store manager was completely unsympathetic and unprofessional about the whole thing. Thankfully my photographer was amazing and still provided beautiful pictures, but for the price I paid, I wish I would have just bought my dress and skipped this AWFUL experience.
