We selected a channel-set ring engagement 5 years ago from Dynasty Diamonds. We've had to get the stone re-set TWICE since. The last time we dropped off the ring to be fixed, we also purchased the matching band. We don't live in Chicago anymore so they promised to ship the ring and the matching band in 2 weeks. The repairs took slightly over a month. They never re-set the stone, so it was still loose. I didn't complain because I was so happy with the the way the matching band fit against the engagement ring.
The rings consist of 5 channel-set diamonds and now 3 stones are loose- 2 on the engagement ring, 1 on the matching band. The final blow is that the matching band is about 9 months old and recently *CRACKED*. I don't do rough work with my rings on, so there is no excuse for this condition. You can't tell by looking at the ring that there is a gap, but it constantly snags on towels, scarves, etc. Needless to say, I'm not returning the rings to Dynasty to have them repaired. We used to love to do business with them, but no more.

In June a Boston jeweler begged me to NOT wear the engagement ring any longer. The main diamond was barely held in the channel by the thinnest bit of platinum.
The second diamond in my engagement band fell out of the channel. Great.

I brought my engagement ring into a Seattle-area jeweler to get the stone removed from the faulty setting. They subtly told me that the dimensions of the ring were off. Nice work, Dynasty Diamonds.
