Best Irish pub in Charleston.  Excellent burgers, fish & chips is good and the Irish stew is worth the name.  Excellent atmosphere and smoking/non-smoking sides.  Easy feeling and a great place to catch a soccer match.  It can be busy and slow for lunch but it's worth the wait.  North Charleston's old village is filling up with excellent places to eat and enjoy.

This place looks a LOT like the pubs do in Ireland, or at least the ones I went in when I was there a few years back.  It's a nice, warm feel with dark wood, comfy booths and lots of nooks and crannies.
The draft beer selection is commendable (it IS an Irich pub) and of course you can get a properly poured pint of the black stuff any time.
Food wise, I like the fish and chips.  Very tasty and you get plenty of it.  The sunday brunch is very good, too, although they get started a bit late for me and the wife (11am).  Brunch does come with cheap bloody marys and mimosas, though, so.....
Worth investigating if you're in North Charleston.  Hell, even if you live on James Island or somewhere not too close, come on up and see what the fuss is about.
I've never had a bad experience here.

I love Madra Rua, aka The Fox.  Park Circle has been transformed into a great neighborhood and this pub is one of the perks.  The pub is perfect for a pint and some wings. This is the kinda place you wait for everyone to yell "Hey Norm" when the next patron enters the door.
