Mexico Steakhouse is a great place to enjoy decently authentic mexican food. One of my favorites is the Menudo (but I'm pretty adventurous). The carne asada is very good here as well, but I do prefer Panchos Pistolas' a little bit more.
But you can't beat the family atmosphere at Mexico Steakhouse. It's nice and quiet and caters mostly to the neighborhood. Although totally random, they also serve "alphabet soup". I wouldn't say it's the most gourmet thing they could do, but it brings you back to childhood.
It also is good for friends who are not big on Mexican (i.e. burgers, salads, pastas) or thinks that Pepes is quality mexican food (i.e. they'll fry the soft shell tortillas to make hard shells).
I've been coming here since I was a child. Mexico Steakhouse's menu includes everything from burgers and sandwiches, salads and pasta, steak and chicken...all of your favorites Mexican or American.
I recommend anything with the Skirt Steak.
Its a great little sit down family run restaurant.
