When I lived nearby, we would try to make it here or to the Gallaudet market every weekend. You won't always find the thing that fulfills your heart's desire, but as a regular visitor you will undoubtedly stumble on some good deals.
One weekend recently, I came with several items on my list. I only found one -- a furniture cover, which I had least hoped to find -- but the satisfaction of that, plus the price, was enough to make the trip worth it. -

Every Saturday and Sunday morning they roll out the wares across two parking lots. It's a good mix of fugazi street vendors, secondhand clothes, and thrift store housewares and electronics. Me, I like to putter around and people watch.

This is such an odd assortment of vendors, customers and items for sale - charming, in a weird way. Don't expect to find something you would take on Antiques Roadshow, but you'll find some cool, random stuff that you may or may not feel inclined to purchase - and you'll definitely be entertained.

sketchtastic, but occasionally some cool finds. just be careful about what you buy and how much you spend on it; its the kind of place where vendors disappear the second you hand over your cash. can be fun if youre feeling like an adventure, but can also feel like youre surrounded by vultures.
