This a smaller 99 ranch compared to others I've been to, but kept fairly neat.

Can't really comment on regular grocery shopping here as I came in to stock up on some snacks while I'm visiting my mom. They had a bakery that definitely had some good stuff- get the Portuguese egg custard  tarts as they make them rightfully flaky, creamy, eggy goodness. Got some boxes of biscuits with taro as well.

One thing is that the smell was confusing. I smell fish, cooked food and baked goods and it was rather overwhelming and odd mixed together. I thought maybe the fish area was badly kept, but I passed by it and some things looked rather good. Perhaps ventilation isn't good in here.

Still it seems like a decent market. I still remember the days you had to drive out to Clairmont or the Rowland Heights to get some Asian groceries and now things are much more convenient with this place around.

1st time there. After my little shopping at the dollar Store, I decided I have time to walk around and check things out.

They have a bakery with sweet bread and cakes. There were different types of bread for a $1.00

Making fresh stir fry ?the veggies are at a good price. Basic celery sticks or tomatoes your better off at ralphs!

Lots of fresh meat, and fish. If you love seafood come here! wide selection...

I bought some noodles for my stir fry for sunday and the price was perfect!

Not as big as H Mart, but if you live anywhere near Rancho Cucamonga, not having to fight the traffic down 57 to Diamond Bar and back makes 99 Ranch Market a smart choice.  The time I usually spend fighting traffic (never mind planning the trip to try to be back before 3p altogether) can be spent enjoying browsing the shelves instead.

This market seems to be a little more pan-Asian in focus than H Mart's more Korean-focus.  The fruits and veggies were fresh, good selection of fresh fish and meat, and well-stocked shelves.  I'll be back!

OK 99 Ranch is good in my book. I remember going to 99 Ranch Markets for as long as I can remember. Things to get here, anything Asian duh! I hit up the Pinoy section and buy the basics, Filipino brand Soy Sauce, Filipino brand vinegar, (the kind with the lil chilis in the bottom),  some Mama Sita mixes. You probably wonder why I have to buy Filipino brand Vinegar & Soy Sauce, to make Adobo of course. You can buy other vinegar and soy sauces but in order to make great Adobo, it's best to buy the Filipino brands, Kikkoman Soy doesn't cut it when boiled. Overall I enjoy strolling through this market,  they sell Asian beer for pretty cheap, also they sell Red Horse Beer. This was the beer of my hubby's choice last Spring when we were in the Philippines. I've been to a bunch of 99 Ranch's and I'll always come out feeling satisfied

Great place to buy lobster live, when on sale, and have it steamed while you wait.  Also fun just to go down each aisle to see what spices and canned foods you can buy!  Worth the time.

BEWARE OF SEAFOOD -- I purchased 4 lbs. of Tiger Shrimp last Thursday, not sure what percentage was spoiled because I tossed the entire batch after tasting just a few bad ones.  My girlfriend vomited even after spitting out most of her shrimp.  The service at the seafood counter was also pathetic!  Although I was the only customer standing there, I took a number and waited for several minutes as the employee (only ten feet away) did everything possible to avoid acknowledging my presence.  The rest of the store seemed well-organized and the check-out clerk was extremely courteous but I seriously doubt I'll ever return.

What the heck?  The cashiers are Mexican?  First time I've seen that at one of these stores.

All joking aside, there's finally a decent place to get fruits and vegetables at great prices.
Just be careful when you buy the meats here.  This place isn't as popular yet so some of the meat is kinda old.  Ask to smell it before you buy it!

Sign the petition when you check out.  Apparently, some people in the area don't like the non-existent "smell" from the fish frying or whatever.  I've never smelled anything strange outside the store.

I was SO excited when I saw the sign go up, but must admit that I still drive out to Hacienda to get my Asian staples...

This store is REALLY clean with a nice take-out counter  (including dim sum items, peking duck, noodle-soups, and combo items)! They have a pretty decent selection of fresh fish and meats, but still not the array you'll find out in the SGV...

This location has a TON of filipino foods (complete with an entire endcap devoted to Goldilocks products!)- if you are a pinoy/pinay, you'll be very happy!

Unfortunately, I came looking for things like 'shao bing' and cha siu bao- no one in the bakery knew what I was talking about because no one was chinese! There were a few other obscure items (like fresh masago) that were not found here, but you'll definately find most of your basic staples here...

I did end up picking up a birthday cake here on a whim and it was DELICIOUS!!! It was beautifully decorated (not one of the cheesy white and pink rose covered diamond bakery cakes)! For $22, it was a half sphere in shape, was filled with fresh strawberries, sprayed the most beautiful shade of red, and artistically topped with an assortment of exotic fruits and glazed beautifully! The whipped cream was light and not too sweet, and the cake was moist and delicious!

Really the best thing about this place is the friendly staff.

Its smaller that CH and isnt as nice.

For example the fish here smells. In CH it smells like the ocean.

The bakery staff was really nice but my bun tasted like a stale donut...

FINALLY, a 99 Ranch in the IE! Bummed that they had to stop frying the fish and roasting ducks and char siew cuz of odor complaints from the neighbors. However, they still serve the cooked food and dim sum there, so I wasn't too overly sad. Not to mention the freshly prepared sushi...

This store is clean and has most of everything the other 99 Ranch stores have (minus the fried fish and roast duck and char siew, yes, I'm still sad about that).

Thank you Lord for listening to my prayers! A Ranch 99 in the IE! I live in SB but Rancho is good enough! I'm not Asian but I damn well love cooking and eating their food and I was also saved an hour's drive to the San Gabriel location. The IE was in dire need of an Asian market. Maybe a San Bernardino location soon?

I live in SB but I go to school in RC and I love to stop by afterwards to get some Chinese/Japanese goodies. They have a good variety of products and vegetables, smaller than SG but good enough, not to mention it's cleaner than the SG location and parking is way easier. They also have a food court which serves char siu (Chinese BBQ and Roast meats), dim sum, soup, and sushi. I only ate their once and had a 2-item combo lunch (think Panda Express) which was good but I felt it lacked something but their other items looked good and I will return to try them out. I want to thank Ranch 99 for coming to the IE, which I suspect is due to the growing Asian population, which is a win for non-Asians like me also.

Stopped by here for the first time one afternoon with my sister, we weren't looking for anything in particular just wandering  and we found some pretty interesting things. A lot of the items I've never seen before.
I'm obsessed with pocky sticks and fell in love when I saw they sold a giant box for 11bucks!! The place is clean and organized. The fishy odor is kinda strong but that's a given since this market has a large variety of very fresh sea food. In all an amazing find ill fersure be going there again.

Great Asian market-  new in town.  Being a round-eye and not well acquainted with Asian foods, it seemed quite well stocked and the staff was helpful and friendly and mainly spoke English.  One whole aisle in the market was nothing but a million kinds of noodles.  Another aisle was sauces.  There was a "deli" section.  They have all kinds of meat and  live seafood and fresh fish.  The produce looked pretty good too, and they had many sorts of fruits and veggies I had never encountered before.  Utensils and all sorts of kitchen gadgets.  Dozens of kinds of sake and other spirits.   The bakery items are wonderfully tasty and they have a restaurant of sorts.  Peking duck- wow.
I really recommend the place.  Best of all-  It smells Asian but not funky. .

Yep. This is "THE" Asian market in Rancho. But it's so user friendly.

It has a great bakery, seafood and meat counter, and a deli (which is just like their own lunch place with American Chinese food / Dim Sum / and hanging meat.

It's been forever and a day since I've begged the powers that be for a 99 Ranch close by.

    Now, it's heaven.

For those unfamiliar with 99 Ranch.  Well, it's the Ralph's, Von's, and/or Albertson's for us asians.  They sell live seafood which they'll butcher, clean, and/or fry for you.  Plus, you have access to cheap and diverse set of asian veggies that usually cost an arm and a leg at those aforementioned chains.

    99 Ranch in Rancho Cucamonga?

    I'm there!

I feel bad for the smaller stores, like Richard's Market.. because 99 Ranch will now be the go-to place for all the asians..

Because it's new (it probably opened less than a month ago), it's still very clean.. the seafood area is still very clean.. and the fishy smells haven't permeated around the entire store.

I tried out the soups they sell at their restaurant area.. and they are ok.. the broth is tasty.. without being too salty.. but they use egg noodles in their wonton noodle soup.. and I don't like egg noodles.. so that was a disappointment.

They sell a lot of the Filipino foods that I look for.. and a lot of other asian foods that I have never heard of.. they sell a wide variety of seafood and animal parts.. it's actually quite interesting just walking up and down the aisles finding things uncommon to me..

I came here tonight searching for grapefruit and mango.. and found some.. only spent $2.07.

Check it out for all your asian needs.. it's pretty cool!

If you love food, shopping for varieties of food and just to be surrounded with food this is the place to go!

No more West Covina Seafood City for Filipinos who live close the Inland Empire. 99 Ranch Market has the best Filipino products/food from the Philippines: toccino, longanisa, Selecta ice cream, Magnolia ice cream, Goldilocks, Ligo sardines, Pure Foods products, Stick-O treats, Lucky Me noodles products, and more!

Nothing beats a brand new grocery store, especially one that has wide selection of ethnic foods.  Like other stores, this place has a bakery, meat department, and a fish department, complete with live fish, crabs, shellfish, etc.

Bonus:  Restaurant selection that offers dim sum, sushi, roast pork (it wasn't ready yet, since I was there at 9 a.m.) and roast duck (which was delicious).  You can either eat there or get it to go.  Definitely a welcome addition to our area, which is saturated by generic chain restaurants, offering the same old tired food offerings.

Wow finally a real asian market in Racho Cucamonga, close to home. There is a Korean market one exit further.

This place is smaller than the ones I have been to, but still crowded. Has fresh meat, seafood and fruits and vegetables. Some of the fruits and vegetables you won't find anywhere else.

Parking lot is typical shopping market, well it was once an Albertsons duh!

There is a little eatery in back and a fresh bakery in front also!

I used to drive to Rowland Heights to buy asian groceries, but now I can just stop by this rancho location (yay!). They definitely stock different things compared to the Rowland Heights location. I'm definitely not complaining though, I bought some frozen lumpia which turned out very well. There are a lot of packaged asian foods as well as good produce, sauces, seafood, meat and even a bakery.

This place is awesome although a bit more expensive on their bread n stuff compare to the other 99ranch around ( I think ^^ )

I went there to do some groceries n got myself a Tiramisu Cake...
TIRAMISU is ok not the best tiramisu though
I am thinking of getting it again anytime soon..^^

I am sure this is going to be my other fav. asian grocery shopping market in my area......

note: The food look delicious....I think it was around $4.99 for 2 items....

This store should give Market World Hannam Chain some competition. This place really shows the Asian population around the nearby Rancho Cucamonga area. Wondering though, if the Hispanic crowd know what all the products are in the store.

This store is pretty well stocked, great produce area with HUGE vegetables, large assortment of exotic fruits, vegetables, hard to find Asian products.

The cashier area has more cashiers, managers, supervisors standing around than cash registers. Why? I'm not sure.  They're just standing around.  I went to the Customer Service counter to ask a question but 3 employees were talking amongst themselves and when they finished and walked away, the girl behind the counter didn't really answer my question.

It's strange how other stores or coffee shops or counter workers who are into a conversation do not stop or interrupt their conversation to help the customer (without inconveniencing them by letting them wait), rather they chit-chat until they finish their little talk even if it has nothing to do with work.  Hey you workers that do this that's reading this - it's really an inconvenient to the customers who have to wait. So, cut your conversation, help the customer then finish your chit-chat when we're gone.

One would wonder if there are more employees here to stand around rather than help the customers.  Then again, do they all speak English?

The announcements or sounds over the store speakers are in Chinese.  I don't think they have this (Chinese announcements) in local Chinese restaurants in the area.  Kind of defeats the purpose of announcing something (or store specials) if it's in Chinese.  You think?

Overall, I love the store and everything in it. Having too many people to stand around (and get paid for it), is bothersome to customers who do need help or have questions -- because it seems these employees don't have the answers to help you.

For the Filipinos in the area, Richard's Market (Foothill and Mulberry in Fontana) should take Tropical Market's business only due to rude owners and store workers there.  They may bite your head off or not offer a service with a smile for shopping there.  Also for great Pinoy cooked foods - Go to Manila Wok & Grill (East Ave, Fontana) rather than the Tropical Market food. They just don't smile there so they must not be happy with their customers.

But this 99 Ranch Market should overall serve our Filipino food products. I hope they have weekly sales flyers in Sunday newpapers.

NOTE TO READER:  For birthdays, forget the regular grocery-store bought cakes or COSTCO cakes -- buy your cakes here.  It's less sweet, fluffier, smoother to taste and a better treat for any ocassion.

I have always been a great shopper at 99 ranch. but i always had to drive to rowland heights area to that 99.
Rancho Cucamonga 99 ranch market opens and i have save so much gas and money just to get some groceries!

99 ranch market has almost everything you would find in an asian house
they even have LIVE fish, crabs, clams, lobster, and etc.

their prices are pretty good, and most of their stuff are fresh and new.

They also have a small eating area in the back of the 99 ranch market which i thought i was pretty cool.
It's like a panda express restaurant but in the 99 ranch market. they also have the famous asian dish DIM SUM.
for those ppl who do not know what dim sum is, it's a small snacky food item that cost about 2-4 per box. including wonderful asian food like radish cakes, chicken feet, shrimp balls, and etc.

OMG and i did i mention their bakery?! it is awesome and their bread is freshly made all the time. you will lines just by the bakery. they also sell delicious cakes and bread to go! right when you get into the 99 ranch market, the first thing you smell is the euphoric smell of FRESH bread. YUM!

Recommende to all grocery shoppers and bread lovers! CHECK.

Finally, an all-in-one Asian store in the area.  You walk in to the fishy smell, but that's normal at these types of grocery stores...get used to it.  Oh the fun of looking for Knorr sinigang packets and seeing that they were 3 for a dollar.  Or that Jufran was 2 for $1!  I love how there are pretty good deals every once in a while.  I was disappointed that there was not a rice dispenser here...where do I buy one?

The awesome part of this place is the back where they have "gourmet food" according to the sign.  Choices of ordering dim sum to go or eating 3 item plates with a small seating area is available.  How cool is that?  I will go here for my Asian food needs.

This is MY place to shop. I do a weekly shopping trip here for produce and fresh seafood and my norm Filipino food fix ins. Mom and I used to make the trek to west co. And still do at times because of  jolly bee :) but so glad that my hometown is now home of this market. I stopped going to hoa binh in Pomona. Got tired of the dirty store and actually having to be in that part of town. 99 ranch market has great prices on everything from Asian bakery goods, fresh seafood, Asian fruits and veggies. I would opt to make ur own Chinese food rather than eat at their restaurant but that's just me.

Finally! a short drive down the hill from the high desert. Just off of 210FWY from Archibald Avenue. No need for me to drive far to a Seafood City in West Covina. This store has decent fruits and vegetables and seafood. They carry a lot of popular Filipino products. Lots of fresh fish and clams. Not so much excited about fresh frying, but they clean it for you.  Yummy baked goods from the bakery and a fast food inside with a place to sit.  You can order soups, specialty food and prepared sushi's on display. One thing cool about this place that my Mom like's is the LBC Remittance on site.

    99 Ranch Declared Public Nuisance

    http://www.dailybullet...

By a unanimous vote, the AQMD hearing board ordered the 99 Ranch to limit its cooking to steaming and boiling until an environmental consultant is hired to analyze the situation and draft a remedy.

On July 13, the hearing board will reconvene and discuss the consultant's findings and determine further guidelines for 99 Ranch. Until that time, 99 Ranch cannot barbecue, deep fry or stir fry food.

Byron Gee, an attorney for 99 Ranch, said, if the market has to close its hot deli and seafood departments, 99 Ranch would shut down.

The 3 Precious BBQ combo was incredible at the counter. A Menage a trois of meat (BBQ pork, crispy duck, roast pork- don't get the chicken its sometimes dry) served over a heaping bed of rice in a white styrofoam to go box. They would have to site on it to get the lid closed. It was food enough to feed the family for under $10.

I really like this Asian grocery store & will definitely return again and again.  There's a big selection of everything, seafood, and live sea animals in tanks and even an eatery in the back of the store.  It's also nice that they hired employees of numerous races.

Nothing to not love here. Produce is awesome and features much more variety than in a typical supermarket. Fresh noodles and dry noodles of every kind. Animal parts galore. In-house dim sum and Asian fast food. Frozen goodies like dumplings and har gao and mochi. There's a hot-pot section clearly marked. Butchers will fry a fish for you while you shop. Bakery has really yummy treats fresh on demand. Thank you 99 Ranch for opening in my town and making my diet more interesting.
