Review from Erika G.
I ordered a cake from the bakery for my mom's birthday party. I came in Tuesday placed the order with the nice friendly woman and paid. I wrote what I wanted written on the cake and just hoped everything would work out great.
Sunday I came in to pick-up the cake and the women there waited to write my Mom's name on there, she wanted to be sure she got it right. (Love that) I don't care that its not he best script, but its a lot better than I would have done! it was so pretty (see pic: http://www.yelp.com/bi...) Fruit slices on the side of the cake, beautiful fresh fruit cut and placed on top. My mom loved it!
The cake was moist and soft, there was plenty of fresh fruit inside and the whipped cream frosting wasn't too sweet. Everyone loved it, even my cake fiend Hubby! We didn't have one piece to bring home!
This cake cost us just under $70.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Kay W.
Cupertino, CA
Summary- The Ranch 99 in Pleasanton is very clean, well-stocked Asian supermarket. The adjacent food court is also a big plus; the food tastes good and is cheap.
Staff- The people here at Ranch 99 are very friendly. Every exchange I've had with the workers has been a positive one.
Store- This Ranch 99 is very clean. In fact, I think it may be the cleanest Ranch 99 I've seen out of all the branches (and I've been to at least 6). They are pretty well stocked for the typical Chinese supermarket grocery items. Their selection is pretty good.
Food Court- This is the big draw of this Ranch 99. At lunch time on weekdays, you can always find loads of people dropping in to buy a lunch box from the food courts. They have hot foods (noodle, rice, meat dishes), and they also have a dim sum area. On weekends, the dim sum is my favorite because it's cheap and the food's pretty fresh because of the high amount of customer traffic. My favorite thing to get is the sweet rice triangle cakes--out of all the places in the Bay Area, theirs is probably the best. Second best is Marina Food's in Cupertino. -

I love this place. Hands down one of my favorite grocery stores.
The fresh produce selection is great, everything is pretty fresh and easy to find. Same goes for the canned foods and whatnot. The butcher service is never too crowded and if you speak Chinese you can get exactly what you want. The people that work here are super friendly and helpful too.
I've also noticed that they've recently started a trend of free samples. The variety they have in this is really good too and they have lot of great food to try before you buy.
Lastly, the hot deli. This place is GREAT if you don't feel like cooking or want a great lunch. They have a great selection of self-serve (where you basically cram as much food as possible into a box), dim sum (all of which is delicious), and hot service (where you like cooked meats and stuff). All the food there is great value and it's so convenient since it's right next to the main store.
All in all, I only have good things to say about this store and it's probably the best on in the Tri-Valley area. -

Pleasanton, CA
My usual Chinese supermarket stop, cheap vegetables, decent prices for Asian items. They have a bbq center and a hot food bar. I always come here for veggies and Chinese sauces/dressings. The place is usually clean and the only part that smells is the back where all the raw seafood/meat is which is pretty rare for a 99 Ranch. There isn't much else to say than that!

Bay Area
I love that this is just right down the street from my work. My asian food cravings can be quenched just a stone's throw away! This is a commodity living in the East Bay.
They have a great hot lunch/dim sum/soup/boba tea/meat variey counter. Much bigger than the Dublin location. The only thing I really eat from the hot plate section is the salt and pepper prawns! Gotta love those salty prawns. Everything else seems too oily. Yep, even the veggies. Maybe they are coated with some kind of shiny MSG sauce.
The other dish I love is the beef soup! It is loaded with fatty sinewy stuff and a tasty beef broth. Good for those cold days. They give you so much soup it is practically 2 meals. On to the dim sum, it's ok if you like thick skinned pot stickers & shrimp dumplings etc. I don't so I stick with the pork buns. They have this display of hanging meats that you can order by the pound. Duck, BBQ Pork, Crispy Pig, Ribs. Yum.
Lastly, I love the FISH COUNTER. They clean, gut and even fry your fish for you. They also steam crab and lobster. I like when the crabs are on sale for $5.99/lb and when the shrimp are on sale for $4.99/lb. The guys at the counter are always friendly.
I choose Ranch 99 for seafood nights over safeway any day. Don't be intimidated by this asian grocery store you may just discover a new snack or an awesome flavor of ice cream. -

3.5 Stars
I like this store better than the Dublin location because it's convenient, less busy/crowded, parking is easy, never any lines, clean and well-stocked. If I'm in a rush, I completely appreciate the lack of crowds and staff waiting at the register to check you out, but I also love that I don't have to feel bad going up & down each aisle to peruse the store if I have time because I'm not in anyone's way. It is EXPONENTIALLY better than the El Cerrito location which I absolutely hate. I just appreciate having a 99 Ranch/Ranch 99 (I've never called it 99 Ranch!). The produce is fresh and all other items are stocked neatly on the shelves.
I especially love the bakery for always having Sheng Kee bread in stock when I can't make my way to a proper Sheng Kee! And, I once called them at 1pm in the afternoon and asked if they can make two large fruit tarts w/a personalized birthday message to be picked up at 6pm that same day. They said it was no problem! Amazing!!! When I got there at 6pm, both were in the fridge and ready to go! I was so thankful for that!
My only issue with this store is the meat/fish department. On two occassions, I've gotten really bad service. The first time, I was buying fish and asked if they could cut it in half but ensured them that I would buy both halves. The man said he does not scale the fish for me. We went back and forth for awhile as I was trying to clarify I only wanted it cut in half while he proceeded to tell me he can't scale fish for me. He finally did it reluctantly, so I guess he KNEW what I was asking but refused to listen, and passed the fish to me with a stern, "just this one time." The second time, I arrived at the meat counter at 8:15pm. The store closes at 9:00pm. The two men working at the meat counter were both cleaning up and ignored me, despite me saying "Excuse me" several times. He even saw me but dodged eye contact and went about cleaning. I finally had to ask REALLY loudly for help and one of the guys finally acknowledged me. He said they were not closed and that we could still place an order. So why did you ignore me?! It took ONLY 1 min to help me but about 5 mins just to get their attention! When he gave me the meat, the bag was wet and bloody. This is disgusting - how do you expect people to walk around the store with their hands on produce/products having touched a bloody bag of raw meat? It also touches the cart. The entire experience was infuriating and disgusting!
Also, the men behind the counter should think twice about speaking in Chinese assuming that their customers don't understand just because we don't look the part. Because I most certainly do understand and the next time, I will not be so polite. -

I like this 99 ranch. They have good decent takeout dimsum and boba (buy one get one free for regular pearl milk tea or thai iced tea w/ pearls). They carry all the usual groceries that you need. I dig it!

Pleasanton, CA
I like this 99 Ranch Market a LOT better than the one in Dublin. And plus, it's closer to my house. They've got a lot of different things. Produce is always fresh and pretty reasonably priced. The meat is pretty well-priced, too. You can even order a whole red snapper, cleaned and deep-fried for about $5! They have lots of seafood. Lots of samples of different food on weekends. Tasty snacks, too. Lots of tea selection. I've yet to try their cakes and cookies, but they are so pretty. I really want to try one soon. They've pretty much got everything you'd expect an Asian market to have. And it's really clean and the staff can be helpful. I know that a fair amount of the employees either speak Spanish or Chinese, which can be kind of tricky if you are looking for a specific item. But even if there is a language barrier, the employees are still willing to help you out... Which I really appreciate.
I think the only thing I don't really like is that it if I'm shopping here, I can't pick up any other American Brand items without spending a lot more money than I have to. But I'm planning on making a Korean meal for my friends this weekend, so I will be going here for my meat and produce! -
Review from Leana L.
It was my first visit here and it was pretty awesome! A large seating area for their bakery/restaurant and the rest of the store was orderly and clean!
We usually come here for fruit and asian veggies since they're almost always at a really good price.
Side Note: It's a lot less crowded than the other location! -

Fellow Asians: I implore you. It is 99 Ranch, not Ranch 99. Please try to avoid perpetuating the stereotype that our people can't read, write or speak the English language.
On a more pertinent note, this 99 Ranch location is by far the cleanest in the Bay Area. The aisles are so wide that I didn't even get elbowed once or have my foot run over by a cart by any Chinese aunties trying to get to their pork floss. -
Review from Risa S.
Bay Area
I love this 99 Ranch location and do come here frequently for their Deli foods and occasionally for their Milk Tea w/pearls where usually they have a special offering of buy 1 get 1 free, which is a bonus I think and it's really good especially on a warm, sunny day.
Pros:
- Friendly staff (#1) and because I come here often, I see the same people, which is nice I think. [Both Deli and cashiers at the 99 Ranch market.]
- Prices are fair since you can literally "pack" lots into your white, box container. [Around $8.60+ although under $9.]
- Deli station: I love their Drumstick at this location because they are so crispy!! and the Dublin location lack this.
- The Shrimps are good too!! But, did you know that some of them have "poop" still in tacked? Yes, when I was a kid, I had to help my dad take out "poop" out of the raw shrimps before deep frying so he could make shrimp tempura's. To us, it would have been unsanitary if we didn't take out the "poop" and who would in their minds want to eat cooked shrimp with its poo still in tack? Rofl
- Shrimp Won Ton soup with or without noodles is really good here too!! [Don't forget to ask for the chili packet.]
- Dim sum is 3 for $2.20, which isn't bad either and at times, they have a special where if you buy like 6 Dim sum in total or was it like 9 and that you could walk out with 3 free Dim sum? So, last time, I picked up 3 of those Sesame balls and called it my desserts.
- Bakery is good too!! Their individual sized cakes aren't like the cakes you would find in your local American bakeries where it's super sweet, but here at 99 Ranch, the sweetness is just right and perfect.
Cons:
- The Sogo buns could be worked on I think because I don't really find similar things I could find at the Dublin 99 Ranch location. I like the layout of their bakery at that location more than I do here at the Pleasanton one. The display with the breads don't look too inviting so I usually just walk by without browsing.
99 Ranch Market itself:
Pros:
- I always find what I'm looking from here.
- Have really good Kim Chee's here that is distributed locally from Santa Clara, which are so good!! I get the smaller jars for like $6.29+ and I eat the whole thing within 2-3 days [on warm, sunny days] depending on how much I am craving them plus the smell, my husband can't handle the Kim chee smell, which I don't blame him. haha Doesn't bother me though and love the smell.
- Their Mochi Ice Cream is $1 cheaper than buying them from say, Safeway. I prefer the ones by Mikawaya because they have clear view of their expiration date versus the Borbouns ones - I can never find their expiration date and I think I have purchased a box or two before and the Mochi part - you could tell it was just old whereas the Mikawaya is always fresh and yummy!! A little more yes in terms of prices, but I rather buy goods with clear, view of expiration dates.
Most likely, I will continue to come here for my early Lunch fix and Mochi Ice cream fixes. haha -

Pleasanton, CA
I wonder if everyone who's giving great reviews here are Chinese...Since everyone who works here hardly can speak English & are Chinese! WTF this aint China-Town it's Pleasanton a majority Caucasian & 2nd Generation American Borned Minorities who Speak English that lives here not FOBS! BTW My Great Grandmother is Chinese so I do have Chinese Blood, and my boyfriend is 1/2 Chinese, so not being racist here!
I had the the worst experience today in the meat department from my non-english speaking butcher! I wanted a 1/2 rack baby-back ribs cut into sliced 1/2 pieces. I showed him a hand diagram a couple of times, and he still couldn't get it an kept insisting that I buy the whole rack! I don't need the whole rack!
Some other people tried telling him in Chinese what I wanted n he still couldn't get it, and started giving me an attitude n talking in Chinese to the other people! So I grabbed the bag, still PO'd cuz it still wasn't Cut right!
So while paying I told the asian cashier who can hardly speak english for their manager and pointed at her bagger. I asked the bagger if he was the manager, and he said no but wanted to hear what I had to say, but I told him I want to speak to your manager.
The manager finally showed up named Sonia, told her what went down, and she was kind enough to hear me out and insisted to go back to the butcher to get how I wanted my meat cut! At first I didn't want to deal with him, but I said ok he should know what I wanted. That person was busy with someone else, so she had someone else do it. Later she told me that the 1st guy who cut up my meat spoke another language, so she couldn't communicate with him either! Dang so how can anybody run a place where they can't communicate with each other! How f'n frustrating!!!
FYI...I don't come to 99 Ranch for the pricing...but for the convenience of living in the area, and because if I'm preparing a dish where I can get everything at this location! The dish I was making consist Tamarind Powder, Bachoy, 1/2 Sliced Cut Pork Ribs, Daikon, etc...besides if you're from this area then you would know it's still pretty pricey no matter where you go! Just sayen...u should be able to make request in english! Asians do get their meat cut up too, and never had this problem in any locations in the Bay Area, or So Cal...heck I've been to carneceria markets where they speak nothing but spanish, and still able to walk out of there with no problems! -
Review from Esther Y.
I like this location because it's large and fairly clean. I always get faked out though because most Ranch's I go to, the produce is on the far right when you enter. Here it's on the left. In any case, great deals can be found if you're watching the sales and this plaza has a lot of other convenient shops like CVS.

Extremely happy to have a full sized Asian market within driving distance.
CLEAN, organized and well stocked. Their fry area is great -fresh fried fish with the head still on, oh yea! Looking forward to crab season and hoping to score on dungeness crabs for $2.99 or less a pound. Large selection of fresh vegetables with different types of eggplants, who knew? Hot food with dim sum choices and a bakery section, nom-nom. Moderate prices for most items. The bottle of spicy bagoong was nearly five bucks, that was a sticker shock.
When our parents are in town or we're looking to whip a dish from the motherland -this is our one stop shop! Hmm, beef sinigang sounds good right now. -

CLEAN!!!
I have been to many different types of asian grocery stores and I have to tell you, this one is awesome! The people that I talked to were friendly, the cashier was helpful (though she over charged me when purchasing long beans and insisted that was the correct price keeping this particular 99 Ranch from getting my five star rating) and it is clean!
I also like that the deli/cafe/bakery area is so big, though I didn't get a chance to try their food. Another good thing about this particular 99 Ranch is that it is sooo close to my apartment and with it came boba places. I have to admit..I love tea places!
I will return 99 Ranch...oh yes, I will return. -

They have everything you need for Asian Cooking. Al the spices, all the flavors Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Thai , and many more. For the more advanced to the beginner in wok cooking. but eating there is something different The prepared food at the little restaurant was terrible. Now I hear great reviews of the Dim sum food there but don't eat the prepared displayed food order special ( Dim Sum). Also they have another market in Dublin down the street going west of chucky cheese to right across 580 highway.

So very happy that there is a Ranch 99 in Pleasanton for all my ethic cooking needs. It's new and clean and best of all, not crowded. It's not as big as some of the other ethic markets. I was not able to find some of my favorite snack items. The roasted duck was very tasty but the pastry I bought was so so.
There is a separate corner by the produce department that sells all kinds of vases and other china items. I've been looking for a large china tea pot for a long time and I found a good one here for $20! Do bargain because they're separate from Ranch 99. -

I'm used to H-mart and Pacific Ocean Market in Colorado. This was such a treat! Fresh produce, fresh fish, tamarind candy that we love so much, lychee coconut jelly, boba and so much more! They have a great dimsum bar and a bakery that I will try on my next visit. I am definitely going back!
I had a problem communicating with the gal ast the dim sum counter. Other than that, this is a very friendly and clean store! -

Pleasanton, CA
4 stars for the seafood department and the bbq pork buns! We used to order live lobster from Maine at a pretty hefty price. Now we get both lobster and crab at 99 Ranch. They will steam them while you wait and the prices are very reasonable. We've always had good luck as far as the taste.
I did try some meat -- a rib eye steak, I believe -- and it wasn't very good at all.
There is a variety of produce and the prices are reasonable. They have about 100 varieties of soy sauce (ok -- that might be a slight exaggeration) so if you can't find one you like, it doesn't exist. -

Hate to be the whiner here...I bought steamed yellow chicken at 2pm, went home and it smelled really bad as in ROTTEN and SPOILED. Had to drive 10 miles back to get a refund (20 miles roundtrip, not to mention gas and time) totally so not worth it...
Check your food from the deli before headin home...that's all I can say about this place... -

Clean and tidy. This Ranch 99 doesn't smell. Also, there are plenty of parking and close to my workplace. I love shopping here for Chinese vegetables and stuff for hotpot. They have fresh meat and fish and shell fish and crabs here so I am not surprise people come shopping on a daily basis. I like the hot food counter. They have a nice selection of yummy dishes and I ordered their party trays and set menu for company parties with raving comments because they are just very tasty. The staff work there are all very helpful and friendly. The chef came out when I collect the big order and he asked me to let him know if there's anything in the dishes that needs improvements. Very humble and modest. He even offer to give me a plastic bag to line my trunk when one of the trays has curry sauce.... He is so considerate. Unfortunately, the curry sauce find its way to sneak out and leave a mark in my trunk anyway LOL!! Party tray people! Way to go!!

So clean and new! This Ranch is fully stocked with all that you need from the fresh produce, dim sum, fresh seafood to a diverse bakery. I was excited to see my family's favorite, Tasty Bread.
This is the go to spot on my way to visit my parents in the 2o9.
It's funny to see this particular location as a mini mall with a Cell Phone Kiosk, Pharmacy, Shiedo Counter and also Bedding all inside 'the Ranch'. -

Pleasanton, CA
First there was Dublin, and now the Pleasanton location has opened here for a while.
No complaints about this Ranch 99 establishment and they're doing a good job catering to the Americanized Chinese crowd by keeping this store cleaner than your average Chinese supermarket.
Some store owners tend to over-value location (versus their product and pricing), but I think that the success of this Ranch 99 is a testament that good marketing can succeed despite a bad location. This lot use to be abandoned when there was an old furniture store here, and it's hidden from the main road (Santa Rita) by a lot of trees...YET, the parking lot is still packed during regular business hours. -

I'm used to the 99 Ranch Markets that are crowded with people trying to get their groceries in between tiny aisles crammed pack with goods. But this location blew my mind as it's one of THE cleanest 99 Ranch Markets out there (nevermind that it's also one of the newer ones out there too).
This one has it all, a deli section filled with dim sum selections for your immediate gratification, a bakery with some delectable goodies and bread, a cellular store, and a beauty store for your Asian cosmetic needs along with a large selection of fresh produce and other asian ingredients.
It's a bit more calm and is a nice oasis of grocery shopping with a large parking lot. -

Review from Jaime P.
This has to be my favorite 99 Ranch I've been to, and that's saying a lot since I enjoy regularly shopping at asian markets! The selection here on everything is excellent and you can probably find almost any speciality asian item you are looking for, in my case it was the dried fish to make salted fish fried rice.
I like how their rice selection is also in an aisle here, compared to the Dublin store. Parking is easier here, although be warned, coming here on the weekend can get a little crazy with all those Toyotas in the parking lot loaded with bad drivers! -

This Ranch 99 beats the one near Daly City or Richmond. It's clean. The seafood and meat section is fresh, packaged and presented well. I wish the markets in San Francisco was this well stocked. I actually came here looking for shot glasses, but they didn't have any. With such a selection of alcohol, I was even hoping that they have those gift box sets that came with the shot glasses, but they didn't. Concierge was helpful though.

Review from Laurie C.
Los Angeles, CA
I like this store better than the Dublin location. It is more spacious. The deli and bakery dept is to the right when you first walk in the store.
Green onions and cilantro are dirt cheap here. Veggies are cheap too!
Ground Pork is cheaper here than an American store... yes, I make my own won ton. And of course I get all my bottled sauces here too.
Self Serve- Their fried chicken legs, when they are on sale, is a great buy- 5 drumsticks for $2.00. That's like 40 cents each. Most of the time their chow mein noodles are BOGO too. They are not the greatest in taste, but hey, it's a BOGO! You can stuff the box yourself, and the lid does not need to close.
Meat Deli- I like their BBQ chicken. It is like a drumstick and thigh joined together. They are $2.99 each, but sometimes they have a BOGO, and that's a good deal. You can have them cut it up for you. It is easier to eat this way.
Cook to order noodle soups- I love their noodle/ wonton soup too. It's so good! You can choose from a selection of 3 kinds of noodles. And their won ton is pure shrimp inside. It's like eating a har gow (dim sum). In the combo, you get like 6 wontons and the rest is noodles. You can add meat to your soup too- roast duck, BBQ pork, braised beef. Sometimes, they have a dollar off this noodle soup. Prices range from $5.99- $6.99 without any discount.
Self Serve Dim Sum- It's cheap- any 3 for $2.20, but it's not that good. But if you have a craving, you can't beat the price! And you can choose ANY 3... it does NOT have to be the same kind. And they have specials on the dim sum too- like buy 9 total, and get another 3 free.
Drinks- I like their BOGO milk tea with pearls. It's basically like $1.50 a drink. The pearls may not be the greatest, but I care more for the drink itself.
Deli Dollars- Every store is different, but here in Pleasanton, for every $20 you spend (before tax), you get a deli buck. You have to spend the "dollars" within a certain time period, but I don't recall what that time limit is. You can accumulate them too- just use them before they expire. So, if your tummy can wait, shop first! Or if it can't, eat first, and then use the deli coupons another time or buy some food to take home.
Overall, I prefer shopping here than Safeway or Lucky's any day. -

BOO: I tend to avoid the chicken here... just because .. eh... i just get that feeling. That's why I lowered it to 4 stars. Chicken is not always fresh and has a strong smell so be very careful.
WOOHOO: When I want to handpick my live clams and not be forced to buy frozen or 50.. I go here. And if you're looking for pork belly (that luscious piece of yumminess) it's not that easy to find in American markets so check here.

Ignoring your extended hand and throwing your change on the counter?

This review is for the Hot Food Deli only.
$6.99 I think for a self serve take-out container.
They seem to be very liberal about how the customer fills up or should I say Overfills the container. Most places have an unwritten rule that you need to be able to close the lid or you're over the limit.I've consistently seen whoppers & the staff turn a blind eye & don't give you grief or the evil eye.
I admit that I have exceeded the intended capacity but I did'nt have the balls to put food on the open faced lid like a second plate.I seen it done a couple of times.I bet that's how that guy can afford his Lexus & mortgage.
The hot deli food is very good for what it is & what they charge. Their chicken drumsticks are as big as a toddler's forearm. I think they sell the drumsticks separately 5 for $2.
Not everything in the deli is good so cherry pick the best pieces shamelessly
I hope that I'm in line ahead of you.
And I hope that greedy guy is there in front of me with his bloated container so when I get to the register,I don't look so bad.
You know what I'm talking about.
PS It's funny how most people think cheap people don't have money and they have to behave that way...actually some very well off people are the most shameless when it comes to pennypinching.
So do you think I'm broke-ass or freakin loaded? -

The new 99 Ranch has wonderful air conditioning and wide aisles, along with a fairly wide variety of Asian groceries (mostly Chinese of course, but also Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, Indian). They have an in-store Sogo bakery (giant egg tarts the size of pies are only $3.99), hot food bar, self-serve dim sum bar, BBQ meats, noodle soups, rice dumplings, smoothies and hot soy milk (85 cents). Some of the stalls (e.g., in-store bank) aren't open yet.
They have the usual seafood tanks and offer a free fish fry, lobster/crab steaming service. The produce is often bagged so you're forced to buy a large quantity.
I liked the Daiso tables with Daiso merchandise for $1.50 each, like those funny banana holders. I also liked the signs, like the ones for the Rice Dumpling Festival and the egg section with the sign for salted eggs, fresh eggs and preserved eggs.
The prepared food options are not that different from other 99 Ranch locations and there aren't many interesting (or Chinese) businesses in the shopping center. I'm hoping the shopping center will become more Chinese over time.Listed in: Supermarkets and food markets

They don't care if I'm white or hispanic or whatever... everyone is so nice! My token white roommates and I hit this place up for the giant bottles of unfiltered sake ($10!!) and the $7 take out buffet. Oh and the amazing bakery.
Make sure to make some brown rice to eat with the take out, it's super duper greasy and sugary and salty and overwhelming without something healthy to balance it out. Then load up that styrofoam takeout container with your own personal balance of westernized asian food: fried chicken, egg rolls, roasted pork (if you're lucky), glass noodles, eggplant stuff, deep fried sardines, pork buns, etc.

This is the first 99 ranch that I'm a regular shopper at since it's so close to my place in Dublin. They seriously have almost anything I could ever want from an Asian market. Recently I bought a rice cooker here... FOR 20 dollars! What an absurd deal.
I love this place, there is so many interesting things to try and although there are a good amount of shoppers there. It thankfully lacks the free for all mayhem of some of the other 99 ranch locations I've been to. -

A 4.5 star grocery more novel than Trader Joe's.
We start our journey in the parking lot. More spacious than the Dublin locale, but packed with SUVs trolling for the best parking space. It is safer as you'll won't see anxious drivers race across three lanes to get to the dream parking space. Patron's here may put their vehicle in park while middle of a lane stuffing groceries as their engine runs.
They provide the "mini-carts" here too. Unlike the Costco behemoth, its a nimble cart agile to cut corners with little drag.
You'll be greeted by mini-shops including; Verizon Mobile, Japanese-goods store, and a Shiseido desk. The interior is large and very clean.
Produce: Wonderful, colorful, and clean presentation. The price of bananas are .59/lb compared to .79/lb at Lucky's or Safeway. Green onion are .33/bundle compared to .50+ elsewhere.
For Tofu Lover's Only: A wide variety of suppliers. My favorite is the Golden Gate brand coming in at .79/carton. The next step up comes in at .99. It goes up from there.
The Aquarium: They provide live fish, crab, and clams here.
Butcher: While you'll find tripe and oxtail here, you may not find a T-Bone, Porterhouse, or Sirloin. Their NY-Strip was good as I had it with sukiyaki. BTW: They do sell thin sliced sukiyaki beef. Its okay, sirloin is better.
Noodles: Great selection. Want instant noodles by the box? Just ask. Sapporo Ichiban is twenty cents cheaper a package when you buy a box.
Useless trivia: They sell quail and frog legs here.
Dairy: Ironic they cater to the most lactose-intolerant, their milk is much too expensive. I wish they could compete better than the CVS across the lot. 1/2 point deduction for selling 1/2 gallon of dairy at whole gallon prices.
Deli: They give you coupons when you shop here. I have yet to experiment.
Etc: Haven't checkout the cleanliness of the restroom. And they play tango music there.
Kudos to this establishment. -

************HOURS ARE 7 days a week 9am-9pm**************
Grand opening! I walked here and carried my basket so I wouldn't have to deal with parking and shopping carts. :) It paid off.
Store is larger than Dublin; parking lot is also larger with multiple points of entry!
Check out my pictures..similar to Dublin with the addition of a bank and a phone store. Deli eating area is bigger too, and I think there's more check-outs.
Great deals to be had on my white-girl purchases:
Coconut milk .49
Eggs .99
Extra-firm tofu: .66
Bin-bin rice crackers: .89
Can't wait to return when the hoopla has died down. :) -

Thank goodness for this Asian Grocery store. I love this place.
They have everything and it's super cheap. Even Asian fruits and vegetables which are awesome to cook with.
This is my favorite 99 Ranch Market as well. It's super clean and the people working there are really friendly.
They also have a hot deli, and an awesome selection of everything you'd want.
Check it out! -

** This review is regarding the Boba drinks. **
We tried out the boba drinks here because they had a "special" promo. One of the two varieties on promo sale was the Thai Iced Tea w/ Pearls. The taste was okay, but definitely nothing to rave about. But considering it was a BOGO promo...I guess it was worth it, especially considering how warm the weather was outside. ;)
