Review from Tony W.
This is the cleanest Ranch 99 market I've ever seen!
Store looks fairly modern and seems to have upgraded technology for a supermarket. -
Review from Owen L.
Corona, CA
This branch has everything. They also have my favorite type of longanisa. hehe. It's mostly clean and the food at the fast food court section is pretty good as well. They've got good choices for seafood, although i'm not a fan of how the tilapia and other live fish are kept (eghm i'm an aquarist).
My only gripe about this place is how freezing cold it is! Maybe it's to keep bacteria and all the bad stuff from getting in. Just my guess. Make sure to wear a jacket or a parka before you get in or you'll end up an icicle. -
Review from Elizabeth S.
Chino, CA
Place is really clean, unlike the other stores. No smell of any sort.
The fish and shellfish station in the back is clean, the tank is clear, not green things stuck inside the tank in other places. Meat area is good too. But seriously, some people will try to cut in front of you in the meat/fish section like in Rowland Heights.
The selection of cooking oil/ soy sauce/ etc can be a hit or miss depending on what you're cooking. Not a lot of Korean ramen brands, hot pepper paste or Thailand brand soy sauce/etc (my cousin-in-law likes to go to Hoa Binh for this reason). If you're not really picky of brand names, it's a good place to go.
The produce section is large and clean as well. They sell rambutan, dragon fruit, and others that can be hard to find in other stores; boxed fruit as Korean pears and Filipino mangos are aplenty here.
They have a bakery inside, as well as a chinese food and a separate sushi place. They also sell whole duck and siopao too. -
Review from Wendy B.
Chinese fried chicken wings. Mwah!
If you are one of those people who spends an arm and a leg to buy seasoned and sauced chicken wings from the Wingy Thingy fast food place, you are missing out on a great deal here. And if you are not Asian by birth, you may need a few valuable tips before attempting something as crazy as ordering food here.
First, mosey on over to the hot food deli section inside the store. Get in line. Wait your turn. Fend off the little old Chinese lady who tried to sneak in front of you (Yay for that sometimes passive/aggressive tendency in me). Followed by a loud "Hey" to the girl behind the counter who pretends you are invisible (how could I be, I am the only white lady in the store) and starts waiting on somebody behind you. Calm down, breathe, Wendy.
B***ch counter lady who gave me the evil eye finally realized I was not going to back off, and................
I came home with a medium sized Chinese to-go box full of plump, beautifully marinated, crispy chicken wings for under $5. That definitely does not insult my wallet, and it certainly did not insult my taste buds either. And it was worth the attitude and extra effort I needed to get it.
So sure, you don't get the lemon pepper flavor, or even BBQ sauce like at Wingy Thingy, but what you do get is a garlicky Asian flavor, crunchy skin, and a spot of toasted sesame oil that tickles your palate and makes you forget there is anyone else you are supposed to share them with. Ooops. So sorry hunny.Listed in: Asian delights, Wendy's Markets, Fresh Seafood, For Special diets, Meat Market

Montclair, CA
I enjoy this 99 Ranch Market. I'm glad they decided to open one closer to my home so I dont have to drive all the way to Diamond Bar to get my produce. It's very clean and it's not as big as the one in Diamond Bar but it has everything you need. It's a standard chinese market. There is a East West bank located inside and there is also a small food court area if you want to grab something togo or to grab a quick bite.

Chino, CA
Clean market location, with fresh produce and reasonable prices. I mainly come here for the asian veggies, boxes of fruits (asian pears, mangoes), and I love the selection at the meat and seafood counter. The produce always looks fresher than American markets!
This location also has prepared hot food (and sushi too) if you're in need of a quick bite.
There's a bakery inside with yummy baked goodies, cakes, etc.
Parking is ample. -

Best Asian Market I have ever been to!
First of all it is CLEAN! to a tee that is rare among southern california asian markets.
Selection is great from lady fingers to asian ramen. I find all the stuff i grew up with in asia here.
Service is fast and pleasant.
I love the fish and crab station. It is heavenly divine.
Veggies are fresh and yummy.
My fave: Its dirt cheap!
Makes me a proud resident of the area -

The cleanest 99 Ranch I've ever been in. Love their ready-made food section which includes Chinese dishes and a separate sushi section, and very clean seafood / raw meat areas. Decent dim sum on weekend mornings albeit pricey compared to having dim sum at a restaurant though.
Workers were courteous as previous reviewers have commented. This 99 Ranch also plays pop music which makes for a uniquely pleasant shopping experience! -

ABC's of 99 Ranch Market:
Atmosphere: This place is very well organized and clean.
Bargains: On the weekends, they often have samples that you can try! Well-priced vegetables and a wide variety of different kinds. Most things I have bought were ripe, but today I got old potatoes in a bag. :(
Customer service: They are very kind and helpful here. -
Review from Giao T.
I've been here before for groceries, but today, we just stopped in to get a bite to eat. Had the 3 item combo and I'll say it's much better than Panda Express. Same concept. Rice, fried rice or chow mein (of a combination of either) and you pick what you want to eat. Better selection of dishes, slightly larger portions and better prices than Panda's. Oh, and it tastes more authentic, too.
I like this 99 for its cleanliness and properly stocked aisles. It's well lit and modern. But, it feels weird cause it's not like you're shopping in a 99. All the things you come to expect: _____, _____, _____, & _____ (you fill in the blanks) aren't there. If you need hints, let me help. Loud, rude, inconsiderate indigenous to the tri-area Rowland Heights, Hacienda Heights, So San Jose Hills residents that obliviously walk by and bang into your cart or cut in front of you to get the butcher's attention.Listed in: Piggly Wiggly - the original…

Oh man, unno y i'm reviewing this store...
This store is so Chinese. no kidding. not bcuz it's 99 ranch walong. Their staff are like most of them are Chinese. oh my. U know when i went to the one in Anaheim, in Rowland Hts, blablabla, there r not as many. And staff r super friendly, a lot of demos going on in weekends.
Good to go for grocery.
And this is probably the only one I saw store manager walk around very often among all Asian grocery stores i had been, i mean, i roots Asia, i go Asian stores in the big LA area very often. -
Review from Alina M.
This is where we get the mackerel that we put on our grill that we later put in our mouths. Very clean store with some very decent prices. I also like the fact that you can score major deals on eggplants (they were only thirty-nine cents a pound yesterday). To me, eggplant could be a major food group...I'm an eggplaphile...and I relish any store that has them for a decent price. Screw Ralph's and Albertsons with their $1.99/lb for eggplant. I can't support my habit at those prices.
In all, this is a decent chain in general but this store in particular is very good and I recommend it.
P.S. I just noticed that it's funny how my 99th review goes to 99 Ranch Market. (Well, not funny "haha" but "coincidentally cute" funny). Why aren't you laughing? -

This is a nice market, always clean however it isn't my fave.
Maybe I am weird but I really prefer Murukai or Mitsuwa. I think it is for the fact that when I go I know that it is primarily Japanese.
The same with my funky little HOA market for Vietnamese.
To me Ranch 999 is just an overview Asian and never has what I am really looking for. Kinda like an Asian Bristol Farms if you will. FYI I hate Bristol Farms.
And they never have truly BABY bok choy.....even though it is labeled BABY it is double the size of what i find at the local HOA
If you like an Asian market that is safe and main stream you will like the Ranch 99. I could see my mother and mother-in-law shopping here (well maybe) -

One of the best places to get seafood.
For $3.99 a lb you can grab some of freshest clams in southern CA. They also have mussels too when they are in season. Love the fact you can get live lobster and crab here too. Would definitely come here again and again and again!1 Previous Review: Show all »

BEST PLACE to get fresh produce at a good price in Chino Hills. It isn't infiltrated with so many Asians, like the one off Nogales ... LOL.

This place is pretty freaking awesome.
I have been to a lot of Asian markets before but this one takes the cake.
Huge with tons of selection and the prices are amazing! I have seen plenty of live seafood sections before but here I would actually order! (because its clean)
They have a Chinese BBQ section a sushi bar and a bakery. I will be back to see what inspires me next.Listed in: Chino Hills, I heart seafood.

Been going to this particular 99 Ranch for about 3 years now and it never disappoints!
This place is like Asian Grocery Heaven! They've got some of the freshest fish around. Alot of times we'll buy a whole fish and then have them fry it up and we'll tear it up at home.
Also the fruits and vegetables are always of the highest quality as well.
But what I most especially like about this place is the food area!! During lunch they've offer some great dimsum! (chicken feet, bao) Also they offer various selections from the entree area and I'm not talking about your usual orange chicken! Bittermelon with pork, whole fried tilapia in a sweet sauce, fried whole shrimp and it goes on and on! You can order the two item combo and eat off it for a couple of days. -

Pros:
- Great selection of Chinese/Asian groceries.
- Clean, well kept, and organized.
- Fresh produce.
- Live seafood.
- Combo fast food food court area.
- Always stocked.
Cons:
- Slow workers behind the seafood section.
- Not everyone speaks English adequately.
- Fast food not all items are fresh or heated too long.
- Carries a controversial fish: Escolar (look it up and you'll know why)
Bottom Line:
There isn't any other Asian grocer in the area so this one is perfect. Carries almost most things you need and has a great selection of things to choose from. My only complain is if you need to get seafood scaled/priced, it might take awhile. The workers behind the counter is working at snail speeds and act like you don't even exist sometimes. At other 99 ranch they are on top of it! Also, they carry this frozen fish called "Escolar" which causes stomach digestive problems. It tries to disguise itself as seabass but it's not even close! Look it up on google and you'll understand the history behind this fish! Other than that, no other complaints here! -

Diamond Bar, CA
Hands down, the cleanest 99 Ranch Market I've ever been to. It doesn't have that musty, old seafood smell, either. Instead, you are greeted with a refreshing blast of fresh produce smell!
Also, the workers are EXTREMELY helpful. When I asked where a certain item was, literally, four workers came over and helped me look for the item. I can't get over how friendly they all were especially because workers at the other 99 Ranch locations just brush me off because they're too lazy to help me look.
I will definitely be coming back. :) -

Seriously this 99 is so clean! Having been to others in the area this is by far the cleanest. They have a good selection of fruits, veggies, meat, and seafood (sometimes they run a hot buy for $5.99/lb lobster!!! and let me tell you the lobsters aren't puny they are freakin HUGE) and while the variety isn't has vast as some of the other 99s I will take fewer selection for a cleaner store any day! Also this location has better bread than some of the other 99s-yes I know the bakery is the same but this one produces better bread IMO. The pineapple danish bun is so flaky, moist, and buttery...soooo delicious even though it's 1 buck a bun. The selection is better during the weekends even though it's more crowded. This is definitely one of the best asian grocery!
Side note : the roasted duck and the danish bu luo (pineapple) bun are so delicious! -

Love this location! Way cleaner then the one in Anaheim.
The produce is very crisp, and fresh. They also have a bakery, and fresh cooked food section you can go to eat, or for take out.
Love when they have food tastings, just like Costco. =0). I can never walk out with just my grocery list. -

Awwww yeeeeea it's finally happened - a Chinese market in Chino Hills!
It was inevitable people. WE'RE EVERYWHERE and you can't stop us from humpin' each other and makin' more babies cuz we're a buncha horny@ss mother effers. Ever heard of the "Asian Invasion"? You think we were kidding? HA! This market is sheer proof that we mean business.
Apparently it just opened this last Friday, July 6, 2007. Yeeeeeeeaaa man!
I remember when my family first moved here back in the 80's. The "Deer Crossing" signs weren't just up fo' sho' because we would actually see them crossing our paths in the middle of the night. Raccoons, possums, groundhogs, bunnies and coyotes were amongst other wildlife roaming in our own back yards.
Now Chino Hills is developing like crazy. It seems as though every time I visit the family there is something new that popped up - a new theater, new hotel, a new mall even? Whoa...
Walking in to this new 99 was both bitter and sweet. So clean! So well designed!
"Would you like to try some fresh lychee?"
Why yes I would!
"Samples of fresh bread from the bakery?"
You know it!
"A bite of this delicious Chinese pastry you won't remember how to pronounce?"
Just GIMME IT!!!
Wait.......... why are you all speaking perfect English....
DOH! I'm in CHINO HILLS.
Soooooo weird being in a 99 Ranch where EVERYONE speaks perfect English. Not only that - they have non-Asian people that work there too. And yeah, it kinda does take away from being in a Chinese market experience by being able to understand all the employees and them being SO DANG polite. HR couldn't import some Chinese moms from Rowland Heights to speak Mandarin and look me up and down disapprovingly at my halter dress and full on make-up??
Pshaw.
Not only do they have a bakery with freshly baked DELICIOUS breads and pastries all day, but straight across there's a section for some Chinese "fast food". They also have butchers ready to serve you up some fresh poultry, meats, and seafood at cheaper than your average market prices.
Well, Chino Hills is starting to transform from a small town to a booming city that's fo' sho'. Hmmmmmmm......... Does this mean it's actually okay to live in the 909 again?? ..................................NAH!
********Update**
I've had some of their dishes from the fast food section. It's def better than your average "Wok" place and more authentic. The fried shrimp is my favorite. I'd go back just for that. Also - if you order a combo meal with 3 or more items you get a free boba milk tea. Giddyup!
Also, I've read some of the other reviews mention that there needs to be more Asian oriented restaurants in Chino Hills. Well it might take a while. The only reason why the 99 Ranch was finally approved for opening here was cuz of an agreement that there be no Chinese in the signs or wording in the store, and everyone had to speak English. City of Chino Hills "does not want Chino Hills to turn into another Rowland Heights" infested with Asian signage and what was that called... oh - successful Asian businesses.

Well ... I've been here many times and noticed I haven't written a review for this place.
Why you ask? Well you probably didn't ask but I'll tell you anyway.
There's just something different about this location. I couldn't quite pinpoint it but after my visit today it finally came to me. I heard when they built this, the City of CH mandated that all of the outdoor signage be in english. Not even engrish, but english.
Did they mandate that the workers be super friendly too? Did the make sure that they had an EEO hiring manager.
I am a fan of different but this was just weird.
So for me it just wasn't the same coming to 99 ranch knowing what everything was and workers being helpful. It's kinda nice not having to guess what's what because you actually know what it says on the signs. But it does kinda take away from the experience, it's just different.
Good thing I just came for some longonisa, rice and to eat lunch at their mini-food court because I heard if you ask the butcher if he can cut your meat, he'll look at you funny. Don't worry ... this location has all your favorite snacks and if you want they even have services to fry your fish for you.
Just go here .. you know you can't stay away.Listed in: Filipino Food ...

I love 99 Ranch Market! Especially this one because it is super clean, neat and cheap!
There are loads of fresh veggies, all at bargain prices, plus all of your asian staples - noodles, tofu, snacks and several walls of sauces. Not just Chinese groceries, but pretty much any asian stuff. I've seen Filipino Banana ketchup, Malaysian instant noodles, Japanese udon and Korean kimchi.
My favorites though are the prepared foods. You can get a whole loaf of radish cake (like the ones at dim sum) to take home and fry up yourself, sticky fried rice, or how about a whole golden roasted piggy? There are counters for bbq, sushi, dim sum and Chinese fast food (which is waaay better than Panda Express any day). They also sell strawberry or mango shaved ice at the sushi counter for only $3.99! Don't forget the bakery too... mmm pork sung buns.
Wow, writing this review made me really hungry. I guess I'll have to stop by 99 Ranch on my way home. -

Im in love with this place.
No seriously. Asian markets aren't supposed to be this clean and this place is absolutely spotless and the parking is abundant too.
They have live dungeness crab for $5.99/lb which comes to about $12 per crab.. And get this, they steam it for you too. Just pick your crabs, do your shopping, and then pick up your perfectly steamed crab. Serving this as tonight's entree can score many brownie points :)
How great is that??
Fresh cherimoya, dragonfruit, korean pears, guava, and papayas. This place is my fruit paradise too.
And don't forget the bbq pork in the deli. I take it home and make fried rice for days.
I highly recommend this place. My mom loves the fish and that they gut and clean it up really well. Give this place a try if you're in the area. -

I'm reviewing them for an odd reason. This is my hook-up for duck.
There's a little food bar inside where you can get half a duck for about $8. Already cooked, they chop it, and give you a container of sauce. Of course, this should be taken home and devoured where you can't scare small children with carnivore noises and the "look one gets in their eyes" while high on duck.
You know how it is in restaurants when you get duck and share. The slurping and bone snapping noises and at some point, people acting like they are pushing sibling birds out of the nest toward their death just to get the last piece.
Well, that's all over. You can let your family members live a long life AND share nice flavorful duck. Don't go too crazy, a whole duck is a lot to eat and I will not be responsible for anyone ending up in a food coma. (PS. My first home duck meal, they left the duck face in the container and my brother had nightmares of me chasing him around the table with it. So, you can ask them "no duck face" if it might bother you.)
On a brighter note, if you have a "significant other" wearing a perfume/cologne you don't like, wipe your ducky hands on them. Nothing like a main squeeze smelling like the main course. It's also a way to make the dog like them too.
As for the market. They hire people to run around and make it look nice. I know, what will those crazy kids do next? I have sometimes run into a language barrier (or possibly me asking dumb questions) but I've always been directed to help. Oh the frozen mochi, the unidentifiable fruits -- and you must visit the fresh fish AQUARIUMS. They have a deal that you can buy a fresh fish and they will cook it up for you to take home. Sometimes they have fish cooked and ready to go.
Go as a tourist, leave as a fan! -

Placentia, CA
I've been to about a half dozen 99 Ranches and this one is by far the cleanest, neatest and more upscale looking one I have ever been to.
The fresh fish area was the most impressive. The tanks with crabs and catfish actually looked like the water was clean! Not that murky grayish brine at other 99's.
Merchandise and specials are the same as other 99's. Nothing special there, except everything is more orderly.
I bought some take out at the steam tray food area. The 99 in Anaheim is better. There was no choice between rice or egg noodle chow mein. They had a little more variation and again, like the whole store, it looked cleaner. Only downside is they don't pour the food on like they do in Anaheim. The portions are about 20% less here. No real big deal.
If you haven't been to an Asian market before because you have been too afraid to go to one because it didn't look clean. Go here. You'll enjoy walking around and looking at all the weird food us Asian eat. -

Holy cow..this place is so clean and modernized.
I helped a friend pick up food for her dad's birthday party here and I was amazed at how clean this Ranch 99 is! Plus I geeked out at the sight of flat screen TV monitors above the fast food area!
Because we had 8 orders of food to pick up, they graciously helped us by placing them in a cart so we could easily roll them to the car. GOOD IDEA! -

SO awesome... I drove by here a couple of weeks ago, but yesterday, my friend wanted to go to the Chinese market- I told her, hey, they opened one in CH! So we decided to go here vs. Rowland Heights- she Mapquested.. From RC, it's 3 miles shorter than RH, AND you don' t have to deal w/ the 60 freeway interchange/parking lot off Nogales.
First: We got a spot RIGHT IN FRONT. It's a Friday! OMG when would that ever happen in Rowland Heights? We were suprised because it was clean, neat, and everyone who worked there was SO NICE. The guys behind the meat counter smiled, had broken English, but were wonderful. I liked the multi-culturalness (is that a word?) of the whole store. Love it!
There are rows and rows of lumpia, egg rolls, dumplings in the freezer section! I have gone to 5 99 Ranches- all looking for Prime Foods Soupy Pork Buns... THEY HAVE THEM HERE! They have a ton of everything, even ladies making sushi! We were happy to find roast pork, char siu and roast duck too. They have char siu bao and har gao and siu mai if you look over in the deli section, and at not so bad prices. We were in a rush, so we couldn't spend lunch there, but we said that the next time we come, we'll have to have lunch here.
Just a great experience, filled w/ the fishtanks, butcher, etc. Didn't find the bathroom though, so I can't comment on that one. I told my friend that i'm afraid to tell people about it b/c I want to keep it a secret. Hee hee.. -

Alright, I'm going to write a review on the market as a whole, not just the market. The market itself is fine, pretty clean and does not have the scent of fried fish encrusted into the paint. They do a pretty good job with the maintenance. Almost doesn't even seem like an Asian market.
But once you step in the restroom you'll know it then ... I'll be a little lenient because what market has a super clean public restroom? There's some that seem clean but since it's far back in the market the restrooms lack ventilation; thus, leaving the stench of urine and/or crud. Although 99 Ranch's restrooms are sort of ventilated, they're not too clean. The people who clean the restrooms are lazy and miss spots, especially during the weekend. Floors are always wet from water (and probably urine). I don't even understand how human excrement gets on the walls sometimes during the weekends. Who the hell is disgusting enough to wipe sh*t on the wall? The worst part is the employees are disgusted to the point where they won't even wipe it. Is it still there? I hope not!
The deli. In the beginning when the place first opened it was fine. I haven't eaten any of the steam table deli food in over a year. There have been times when I went to the restroom during shopping trips and I bump into an employee from the deli area finish taking a nice crap or wiz and they end up leaving the restroom without washing their hands. Wow, awesome. So the last time I ate at the steam table deli was when I got food poisoning and pretty much had to crap out of my behind for three days straight. I will never, never, never, never eat anything from those steam trays again.
The market is fine. And in itself I'd give it 4.5 stars. Inexperienced lazy workers, filthy hygiene, and food poisoning knocked the score down. So as a whole I'll only give it 2.5-3 stars. -

SO CLEAN! SO ORGANIZED! I've been wanting to visit this place ever since I saw my roommate eating a steamed crab from there. For only 2 bucks!! It has been soo soo long since I've had crab. Any way, today I've finally gotten the chance to get my crab- and they steamed if for me, too. They even wrapped it in aluminum foil to keep it warm. So, I don't know what was going on... I picked out a small dinky crab--all I could afford!! It took about 15 min to steam so I kept walking back and forth waiting and waiting until it was done.. Finally, the guy waved me over and I claimed my prize. :] However, it was not the same crab I had chosen..turned out to be a much bigger -meatier crab...Price was reasonable so no questions asked. :P I will DEF come back to 99 Ranch for all my Asian cravings. :D
Along with their usual food items/seafood counter/meat counter/fresh fruits and veges, they have a mini food court and bakery on the right side and a bank on the left. So convenient eh? Love it. -

Best 99 Ranch ever. Clean store and friendly staff. Also, the food in the food court area is pretty good too. They use to have teppan beef, which was what I always used to get there, but they don't make it anymore and that makes me a little sad.

In an attempt to eat healthier and to eat at home more often to help slim down the waist line, I will now begin my reviews of supermarkets. To ring in the new year, of course I have to start with a Chinese market.
This is one of the cleanest and modern looking Ranch 99's I've ever been to. (Since I'm from Nor Cal originally, I call it Ranch 99 instead of 99 Ranch.)
Start off with the seafood section. Like every Chinese market there are tanks of crustaceans, from live lobsters to crab to giant shrimp, oysters, mussells clams, and all ethnicities of fish you can ever imagine. Black fish, red fish, white fish, fillet fish, fish ball, fish paste, live fish, dead fish, very dead and stinky fish, a fish fryer, galore.
Next to this area is the meat area. You can find all sorts of beef pork chicken duck lamb products and byproducts. And by byproducts I mean every part of the body is edible and will be eaten, by some Chinese person out there. Feet, fat, liver, bones, eyes, nostrils, butt hole.
Vegetables. Every kind of asian vegetable imaginable. From baby bok choy to cucumbers to tong-hao to chives. Green onions and daikons galore and taro, mushrooms in all shapes and sizes, and vegetables you've never seen or heard of. Yam leaves and a-tsai (A-vegetable). Most of these vegetables taste really delicious if you just cook it with a little oil, garlic, rice wine, and some oyster sauce found in the sauce section of course.
Theres a dry noodle section and dry vegetables and beans, sauce section with vinegar, oils, soy sauce galore. Stir fry packets so you don't have to make up your own flavor concoctions, tofu section with every type of tofu imaginable (fried, fermented, beancurd, soy milk). There's a snack section and candy section, rice by the pound, flour by the pound, a ramen section, a tea section, a instant hot drink section, a cold drink section with juice and milk, an alcohol section, an aisle with kitchen ware and essentials for cooking, dinnerware, plastic ware, storage necessities, an American section of cereal, folgers, maxipads, shampoo and cleanliness essentials.
It's your one stop shop for, well, everything you could possibly need to cook, eat, live. It doesn't get better than this. Wait, wait, wait, so much for the thinner waist line, at least I can line my wallet fat since it is definitely way cheaper than your local Vons or Albertsons. This parking lot isn't a nightmare, either.Listed in: The best of SGV, RH, It's a Recession!

This may very well be my favorite 99 Ranch Market. It's the only one I've seen that boasts the title "99 FRESH Ranch Market." Sup wid dat?
Hands down the most cleanest and most organized 99 Ranch. It has a much sleeker and modern look to it, which makes me feel like I'm in Ralphs at times. Towards the side of the market, there's a big section of ready made food. Everything from an assortment of Chinese food to sushi. When you go towards the end of day, you'll find reduced prices on what's left for a quick sale.
I want to say everyone that works here is super friendly, but the cashier I was dealing with yesterday practically threw the money at me. I probably should have spoken to her in Mandarin, perhaps she would've been a little nicer!
I've come by countless of times at peak shopping times but I've never had trouble finding parking. This area was in dire need of an Asian market. Smart move! -

Usually at Ranch 99, I hear Taiwanese pop songs that make me remember how I fell madly in love with a Chinese Pop Singer in the Pacific who asked me to be an extra in his music video but never quite returned the feelings of amore. Oh unrequited love, how dare you follow me to the supermarket.
If there's any other time I am proud to be Asian, it's when I'm grocery shopping at Ranch 99.
Every stalk of bok choy, every bean sprout and every jar of preserved stinky tofu drills ethnic pride into me. It declares yes! To be Asian and enjoy all the delicacies that come along with it. All the duck embryos and pork blood pudding, ox tails and fishballs. This is the essence of our beings, the secret to why we are so darn good at math and massages. If Westerners knew our secret...wait...no! There's one of them at Ranch 99, when did this secret locale leak out??? I was so sure white people thought Ranch 99 was a 99 cent store for Asians. Did the odious smell of fish guts not deter you! Oh the humanity!!! -

Can you believe it? A CLEAN 99!!
I stepped in on Thanksgiving day and was very very surprised at the cleanliness and display of vegetables. The prices are also cheaper than the 99 in Irvine.
So CLEAN!!!
The food court is also a treat. They have japanese food and a Panda Express/Sam Woo style of boxed lunches. You pay 5.49 for 3 item combo. The great thing is, for the third item, they put it in a separate large container. So here's a tip... if you want more of a certain item, ask for it last, they'll give you more.
I also tried their california rolls. 8 pieces is 4.99, which is an okay price, but it's actually pretty good. You can also order a tray ahead of time. I saw a tray of rolls for 19.99. Very delish.
They even have the rice rolls on weekends! I will come here for sure. Living in Chino Hills is not too bad now because of Ranch 99. It's quite livable.
Funny thing is... they do not speak cantonese... only mandarin in the food court. And they have gway low that work here.
