I attended 92YTribeca's Oscar Viewing Party. It was overall a good time, but mostly because of the Oscars, not anything that 92Y did.

I appreciated the free pour of champagne that came along with the $10 ticket. However, the pours were really small (like sample's worth), and I was lucky enough to find one glass that had a decent sized pour unlike the rest. Drink prices were on par with the rest of the city.

My friend and I were running late of course, so we showed up 15 minutes before the event started. I felt that they cramped too many seats into the area, and we were stuck sitting in the back, in an extended part of the theatre and it was far from the screen. The seats weren't elevated in any way, so I (of course) had a really tall dude sitting in front of me and often found myself moving seats to actually see the screen.

They should've just closed that whole back room off and only allowed tickets for the front room. Also, the way the theatre was set up, anytime someone got up to go to the bar to get another drink, that person was walking in front of you... and this was constantly. So if you're really crazy about no one interrupting you during your viewing of the Oscars, I would beware of this event next year.

I have to admit, despite the poor view of the screen, I will probably be returning next year. I will just make sure I show up really early in order to get a good seat. The evening was a fun, lowkey event to go to and watch the Oscars with friends and strangers, cheering and jeering for your favorite films of the year.

We went there on Saturday night as we've heard one of the bands perform at 42nd street Grand Central Station and really liked it.
I got the deal for a reasonable price for the Saturday night's show.
It was a fun-filled 3 hours' long performance by 3 different bands one better than the other.
I don't know after how many months was I tempted to dance with my husband!
It was freezing by the time we got out after the performances but it was all worth it.
The only minus was that it was the same night when Whitney Houston died and it was quite ironical that we were celebrating at a concert. It also snowed a little bit on our way back but it was all worth the experience.
We are def going back again soon and maybe with friends and family this time.

SPOILER: This is NOT about food. Carry on.

While I have not dined at the cafe or attended any of the lifestyle events, I have both performed on and attended comedy shows here. I feel like the ticket price of $12 + service is steep considering that in a much more easily gotten to location in downtown Manhattan, you can see the same comics for $5, if not free. I prefer an inexpensive ticket so I can spend my money on booze. Attending an event here, with the two item minimum politely imposed, seems like you're not getting out without shelling out $40 at the least, which is just too comedy club wacka wacka for me.

And while they do book some really quality names and funny shows, I have had nothing but bad experiences with their website. Promo codes never seem to work, and when they do you wonder why they were issued when they amount to basically zip. Put their per ticket handling charges on top of it and, well...

One of the most disrespectful conversations I have ever had with someone took place with an employee who was supposed to be a customer service agent. Not so much with the service part! But I guess I could forgo even that if I felt like it wasn't just so ass-backwards.

I want to really like this place, and I was happy when they finally re-opened after a long hiatus, but they just seem to be aping what's going on independently downtown- and charging an undeserved premium to do so. They're not unlike the Urban Outfitters of comedy in that way. You're better served checking out Sweet @ Ella, UCBEast, or Luca Lounge for some solid, cheap and quality indie comedy. Or head to Long Island City to The Creek & The Cave, or Freddy's in Brooklyn. Most shows at these venues are free or $5.

Again, this is specifically in reference to their comedy programming. I have nothing to add regarding the myriad of other stuff they seem to do here.

(again, for cafe only) my favorite things to order:
    1. green pea burger: a huge fried patty of mushed green peas... much much better than i can describe.
    2. wasabi deviled eggs: topped with a piece of tuna loin and sprinkled with roe -- it's like a carb-free sushi. YUM
    3. hijiki salad: $7 for lemon cured salmon, nutty hijiki, fat slices of papaya and avocado on mixed greens.

First time there I tried to get some scrambled eggs. After the wait started to seem long and I watched the "chef" shuffle some things, and walk around and eat, he told me that he screwed up my order and had to start again (I ordered scrambled eggs with tomatoes & cheese).

Really?! Screwing up scrambled eggs speaks for itself. Then the cashier was rude with me when I asked for my $$ back.

    Cafe review only!

The very tasty veggie Mac and cheese -- with creamy sauce, breadcrumbs, and small bits if vegetables -- was served in a huge bowl. Not bad for $7, although a little side of greens would have really made it. The only downside was that it was served lukewarm.

The cafe space is really cute and comfortable. Cute staff boys too

Imma give this place 4 stars.
    Why?
Not for the shows, no. Actually I got tricked by my boyfriend into coming to this place. He was playing a show here (http://awesometapes.com! check him out!) and asked me to come, support him, and to try to slang his tshirts (blerg).

I work a few blocks from here and just decided to come straight after. I was hungry as hell and scoped out the menu.
THE MENU! Tons of GREAT stuff for CHEAP. Oh man. I had the veggie mac and cheese and the staple pizza with truffle oil and caramelized onions.
It was SO CHEAP and delicious, and huge portions. Seriously, this place is pretty amazing.
The staff is very friendly and the show wasn't the best, but I blame that on it being a weekday show at like, 8pm. The space was beautiful though and the staff was friendly as hell. AND! They deliver FOOD inside the venue.
I would definitely go here again!

92Y Tribeca is an open, versatile space.

Shop by their cafe, but don't forget to return for music, a show, or film screening. 92YTribeca hosts events during the day and at night to serve the community in the arts. Best of all, they're open everyday - check their web site for hours and event listings.

At their cafe, friendly staff are happy to help you. I ordered a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel (piled high with cream cheese) that hit the spot, and a strong coffee to warm my hands. At just a dollar, it was a bargain anyway.

I really enjoyed my experience here! Although i came on a quieter night, it's a pretty cool place to grab a bite and enjoy a film.

I was there to watch "The Landlord" (an awesome movie set in park slope in the 70s, highly recommend it!) and was there a little bit early. I grabbed a deelish oatmeal raisin cookie (a steal at $1!) and settled in the cafe for some reading.

The theater is pretty small - maybe seats 50. I'm sure weekend movies get a much larger crowd and requires advance purchase and getting to the venue earlier. A hipster dude gave an intro to the movie, and it was pretty informative - fun facts about the director and how park slope was before the gentrification. Educational and entertaining!

This place is really unexpected. I choose to check it out because I needed a place that was certified Kosher for a friend of mine who is quite religious.  This place fit the bill.

It is a bit pricey for lunch.  It's a modified deli and one comes to expect certain price points.  It's in Tribeca, though so what do you really expect?

I would say that I really enjoyed everything I ate and even though it's been months since I stopped by, I remember the food fairly well.  The Reuben was fairly large.  I think most people would like it though I am particular to having a bit more dressing.  The pickles are half sour. I prefer that. Many others do not.  The Wasabi Deviled eggs were my absolute favorite. Delicious!  The Beet salad was pretty good as well.

I took 1 star off because the price point and the style doesn't quite match.  It's trendy, but it's set up as a deli. A bit odd. However, high marks, as it's actually a true pain to find a kosher place that is still tasty to non-Kosher folks.

    Yes yes yes yes yes!

Went here last week for my friend's album release party at which my boyfriend was making a cameo appearance.  And let me tell you.. what a beautiful space!

When we arrived, the stage was set up and our friend was doing sound check.  It's a real pleasure when there is a sound guy who is attentive and knows what he's doing - which was the case here.

I would love to host an event here one day.  It's a very large venue (standing room with a few tables in the back.

Also, performers get 50% off the cafe menu - definitely a big surprise!  My boyfriend and I ordered the penne pomodoro, a blueberry muffin, and a bag of chips (I was REALLY hungry).  Delicious and, with the discount, very reasonably priced.

This is a review of the cafe for lunch alone.

I love this place. The menu is really inventive and I have never been disappointed with anything I've ordered. I used to work right around the block and would come in maybe 2-3 times a month, but now that I work further south it's not always top of mind. I came in the other day and had an amazing brussel sprout salad with feta cheese. And amazing pineapple lemonade. So good.

It's also reasonably priced for the portion and the quality. You're much better off spending $8 here than $6-$7 at some of the crappy delis in the area.

I really want to like this place because it's right across the street from where I work and is the only place nearby. However, it's pretty awful.

The food takes FOREVER to get to you. I usually end up spending about 15 minutes waiting in line to order, and then another 15 minutes until my food is ready. Once the food comes out, it's pretty inedible. I've had different soups from them before, and they all taste pretty bad. The butternut squash looked like urine, and didn't taste delightful. (Just didn't think you could mess up soup this badly!)

I've never been to the events here, but I'm sure they're fun. I've tried sooo hard to like it here, but I just can't.

Been here for numerous shows, events, and functions and is always a must for any trip to NYC. Although I've attended mainly for the lectures and shows vs. the classes and such, the selection and diversity of materials offered is amazing.

The theater overall is an excellent building and has a very good atmosphere. As for the cafe, I personally haven't found it the best for dinners or full meals so I usually eat beforehand, but overall the food I have had there is pretty good.

It's in a very accessible location just a short subway ride from Penn Station, and it's near the Holland Tunnel so it's accessible by car or train making it an even better spot to

It was raining today so, without an umbrella, I headed down the street.  I ordered a soup and a yoghurt parfait.  First, they didn't have a large soup so I had to get the small.  I saw them preparing my $4.50 parfait a little above half-way.  When they gave me my order to go they were pleasant and friendly as usual.  Back in the office, when I sat and opened the lid to my soup, what do I see but THE WRONG ORDER.  If you look at my original review, this is what I complained about most.  Their friendliness appears almost like a campaign to deflect any negativity caused by their price-to-quality ratio being against the customer.  This venue is just a plain rip-off.  Reading others reviews, I will pass on any membership or going out of my way to come to this overpriced, mediocre place.

One of the worst, if not THE worst venue in all of NYC.

Even worse than Terminal 5 (which you can find in my reviews). Before I detail the problems, let me first say that the staff was SUPER kind and gracious. I wish they could have made up for the terrible experience of the actual venue.

Note: this venue would have a much lower and accurate rating if the "reviewers" would stop rating based on what they THINK the place is like, even though they've never been to it or seen a show there, or if they would rate the entire venue, instead of just the snacks and food served in the front. Yelp is a review site, not just a check-in/hope-I-get-to-go site.

So... FIRST: the kitchen is connected directly to the performance space so that during the performance, competing with the stage are banging pots, clanking pans, jangling silverware, and bright lights blasting over and over through the swinging/slamming doors into the otherwise great ambiance of low light. THE. ENTIRE. SHOW. OVER. AND. OVER. Listening to someone perform on the piano while pots and pans are crashing to the floor, over and over and over, is absolutely startling and stressful.

NEXT: the bar takes up a large portion of the floor space alongside the seating/standing area, which would be fine, except that people who like to stand around and talk LOUDLY throughout an entire performance tend to gather around the bar area. So on top of the kitchen assaulting the senses, you are flanked by a mob of loud-talking, laughing, partying idiots who seem to have forgotten or completely disregarded that you paid money to see/hear the person on the stage, NOT THEM! The audience who is being respectful to the performer spends half of the time having to "shhhhhh" the people partying at the bar, while the other half of the time the bar people are trying to talk or yell over the performer.

Frankly, it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had, and in a venue that has so much potential. Maybe a hair-metal or hip-hop or rave party would be good in this space, but it's not a place to see anyone performing in any other way. To be fair, I've only been once, and I doubt I would go back, but maybe it was an "off" night. The crowd may be something that changes, but I don't know how they could remedy the kitchen door situation.

I knew the 92 Y had a large Tribeca space.  I knew that many events are held there.  I may even have known at one point that the event I was going to was at the Tribeca 92 Y.  But I'll be damned if any of that mattered, because after work I hopped on the 6 uptown.  Wandered over to the 92 Y that's on... you know... 92nd Street.  And then proceeded to wish that I was flexible enough to kick myself in the balls for being so stupid.

The cab to make it to the event on time was way more than I ever hoped to spend.  Could you guys maybe consider running an "Idiot Shuttle" for people like myself who are... well... complete and utter idiots.

It's a great, and quite large, event space, that is clearly trying to show that it is hipper and cooler than its uptown namesake.  But maybe we can... you know... let go of the branding, and rename the place?  No?  Ok?  I get it.  Well maybe just the "Idiot Shuttle" then.

I've been to the 92Y TriBeCa a few times to see "Mortified," a really hysterical comedic excavation of readers' old journals, diaries, and book reports (?) -- which are somehow made hilarious when read aloud ten years later.  I really love the venue space: there's a great cafe area when you first walk in, and then the performances are held in a large space with a bar and stage in the back.  My friend and I arrived just minutes before the show began, so there wasn't much seating left, but even from the back row, we saw and heard everything just fine.

The calendar of events is massive -- it looks like a phone book -- and I love that 92Y is bringing so many amazing speakers and performers here for decent prices.  They also have hundreds of classes and groups that meet regularly in the space, and what's cooler than community?  I thought the food and drink prices were a little bit high (I didn't buy anything as a result) but I'm sure it's competitive with other venues.  I'm just a cheapskate.

I've been a massive fan of the uptown 92nd street Y for a very long time.  Its like a giant community center that has really innovative, interesting and intelligent lectures, programs, services, classes and overall fun things to do at reasonable costs and the Tribeca  location of the 92Y seems to be a slightly lighter version of that same spirit.

I went this weekend to see a singalong screening of the movie grease 2 and had an absolute blast.  The screening room was very comfortable and they had a nice little snack bar where you could purchase beer wine softdrinks popcorn and candy.  It was a packed house and run very well by some very enthusiastic young twentysomethings, and the evening just had a very nice energy.

But mostly, my rating goes for bringing the idea of the 92nd street Y downtown, and adapting the facilities and events nicely to meet the neighborhood vibe.

I'll definitely be keeping my eye on their calendar.

The 92 Street Y isn't for your parents (or grandparents anymore).  I can't emphasize that enough when discussing the 92YTribeca.  See?  They've even tried to like smush the letters together to give it that hip and cool aura.  And they've succeeded.  This venue on Hudson is like a kosher BAM in Manhattan.  I went recently for a movie screening and on the same night, 92Y was also hosting a live music event and a GIANT cool dance party in the back. (Oh, and they serve alcohol).

Before heading into the movie, we ordered various kosher/vegetarian dishes.  (Only veggie/kosher snacks are available).  The chef took A LOT of pride in the putting together of the food process.  You gotta give him some respect here.  My dish was the udon noodles with thai basil and they were delish.  We were even able to bring the dishes - chopsticks, beers, glass glasses and all, into the theater while the documentary played.  The theater was great and really comfortable and afterwards the film directors answered a bunch of questions and even invited the audience to an after party at Crash Mansion.

I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised about what's going on at 92Y Tribeca.  I want to make it back as soon as possible.  I get email updates all the time and they're always hosting really cool art shows, films, events and projects.  I'm glad I got in on the action...I suggest you do the same if you're looking for a little culture in your life.

We hosted a conference here last month, and it did go off rather well.

    Venue:
Our conference was in the main theater where they hold concerts, and from a venue standpoint, it was pretty good--for a concert. We were doing a series of panels throughout the day, and it was nice because our speakers were raised, but for a "concert hall" I was disappointed in the lack of technical specs. The lighting kept overpowering and going out because the entire North wall is on one circuit. The sound was better than most places, and they were well equipt to help us out, but for a stage I was expecting more lights and better screen set-ups.

That said, where the tech fell short, the space as a whole served us well. We lined up folding chairs, about 200 of them, as well as the lounge and bar area, for a total capacity of a bit over 300. It never got too crowded and the rest of the space impressed me. There are a lot of seminar rooms and the layout flows well for the most part. Bathrooms are in a hallway between a seminar room where we had set up our filming crew and the concert hall itself. The doors got a bit annoying as people kept bustling through, but at least the sound didn't carry that badly.

The bar area was nice, filled with lounge seats and high stools, surrounded by glass and art deco lights. For a dark and intimate space, it works well, and I can see a concert really working the venue. Decorated by the guy who did the 92nd Street Y, the architecture is cool: lots of chrome and glass with a light and airy feel in the hallways and other rooms. Still, it didn't wow me. It took care of our needs, but the help was sometimes slow and disjointed. The in-house staff wasn't always on top of things and we had some issues with logistics, but here and there things might have fallen short on our end. I enjoyed the venue, but I'm not looking to have an event here anytime soon. I'd like to attend something, but I wasn't entirely pleased enough to come back.

    Food:
What is really nice about this venue is it's in-house kitchen. There's a cafe that's got some great food, but pricey. It's kosher, and it's good, but it's way more expensive than it needs to be. They do take credit, a plus, but at prices like $8 for a grilled cheese or $5 for a bowl of granola (they were out of yogurt, grrr) I was a bit shocked.

While it's tasty and worth the wait to see them make it in front of you, you're better off at the deli across the street. It's a casual place to come lounge at with a large cup of coffee in a real mug if you're in the area, but stay away from the menu--even if it sounds really good--unless you just got paid.

The new generation of shabbos dinner (locally sourced, natch) has been relocated within walking distance of Film Forum.   Who knew?

    Yelp, that's who.

I came for the jazz, myself -- an impressive show featuring a pianist, female basoonist, and 7 other talented musicians on sax, trumpet, guitar and drums. At $10 a ticket (advance), it was quite the Friday night deal.

I'll probably update this sometime later because, I wandered in 92Y pretty much by chance.  I had an interview in the area, I needed a place to sit down, get something to drink nearby and my Blackberry found this spot for me.

I stuck with the cafe section.  The people behind the counter were friendly (and, if you read my reviews, you know friendly matters to me A LOT.)  I'd been wandering around Tribeca for a bit because, being a good interviewee, I got there early.  They had a strawberry-lemonade that just hit the spot.  Since I didn't know they were there, I'd grabbed a sandwich somewhere else, so I didn't get to try their food...BOO! (I will next time, for sure.)

I got my drink, parked on the couch, plugged in the laptop and just relaxed.  It's great for that slow time after the lunchtime rush.  I got there around 3:30pm.  The cafe space was mostly empty.  The wide open windows gives you a great view of the traffic and people going by, so if you like people watching it's good.

I'll definitely be back to check out more of what 92Y offers.

Grilled cheese SO GOOD. Who would have ever thought to use an onion and fig spread with cheese and whole grain nut bread? It was absolutely delicious - comparable to the grilled gruyere sandwich at 'wichcraft (which I also love).

Honestly, it was so delicious that after I was done, I wanted another one immediately. My friend had to stop me, telling me that I was a fat influence on her.

In 2010 (Jan 28?) I was visiting NYC, about to return home the next day when I saw an ad in the paper for a comedy show hosted by none other than one of my fav comedians EVAR, Michael Ian Black. I said, Fuck THAT, I'm staying an extra day! and went and bough tickets for the show. It was cool and after, to my utter disbelief I saw him exit the stage and COME TO THE SIDE ON THE FLOOR, as in, by us mere mortals! Not only that but some of the audience started to approach him, and actually engage him in conversation.. NO WAY!

So I nervously went over to him, he put his arm over me & smiled for 3 failed pic attempts (a chick was kind enough to take 1 w her cam & email it!) PHOTO: .http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/xhTaz7ZEYkRdjfQLkd ykpw?select=cu8H9LlyQUBqe4t8Ejt36Q I talked w him partially seeing if he'd remembered me from his 2008 book tour where I stood up & asked a question & he asked where lived & if we could go there after the show LOL. Wasn't sure what to say to my comedic idol this time around and yet he was so poised and even seemed to enjoy standing there listening to me babble. I told him I already had plans to see him in Bmore 3 weeks later (for his Michael & Michael show) and he's like, "Yeah at the Ottobar!". Wait, how the HELL does this megagod of awesomeness remember such details as a stupid hole in the wall club in Baltimore of all places? I was impressed.
He then told me "Hope to see you there". And he did and...
    Crazy what happens next! http://www.yelp.com/bi...

I came here for an education talk by the New America Foundation, and I found the space to be very clean and good for a decent-sized talk. The space also includes a bar, which was surprising -- at least for what I think about the "Y" -- but there was no bad seat in the house, and the sound system was very good. Glad I could check out the venue!

Wow, not what I was expecting at all. That's not a bad thing - just unexpected. I've been to many events at the uptown 92nd Street Y, complete with the large auditorium. I told my friends that we should find someplace to eat first, thinking - like the uptown location - the food options would be limited here.

Instead, once I found the entrance I was right in this cute little cafe entrance...and my friends were already on dessert. Can't blame them in this weather.

Had the pesto and goat cheese "pizza," which was really tomato, pesto, and warmed goat cheese on pita bread. Not what I was picturing, but super light and delicious. I could tell it was freshly made.

The space itself - again, I was picturing the 92nd Street Y, which is a true auditorium and feels formal. When the doors opened to the main stage, we walked right past a full bar into a dimly lit performance space, with a select number of seats up front, tables in the middle and along the sides, and more seats in the back. Whoa.

We came for the Comedy Below Canal series. $10 to see John Oliver and Wyatt Cenac in the same night. Each can pull at least $30 per ticket headlining other venues. Again, whoa.

They had a projector screen highlighting future events before the show, many of which I was interested in. A New York Comedy Festival show, the old b&w Phantom of the Opera with live music, a screening of Audition. Long story short, awesome venue, good food, and some really interesting stuff coming up. I definitely want to come back.

Great space for an event. The front area was large enough for a step and repeat and a few camera men. The side room was a good size for the make overs they were performing. The main room had a decent sized stage for the DJ and the sound system was loud enough to fill the room and side area. The L-shaped bar in the stage-room was a perfect size for the 200 people at this event and the kitchen was perfect for the upscale catering company.

So I went here with a friend for dinner last night - it's a brand new venue that pretty much has everything you'd ever need or want in terms of Doing Fun Shit - we ate in their cafe first, which features exclusively heady organic local kosher goodies.  We split a bottle of California zin ($18 and change, and it wasn't bad at all).  I had the Udon noodles with fall vegetables in a red curry($8) - great earthy flavors complemented by chickpeas and green beans; really warming on a cold night (a few more fall veggies in this dish would be even better).
My friend had their gourmet grilled cheese ($8.50 for gruyere and another cheese with a fig spread/compote of some kind) and we were really impressed.  Entrees are mostly sandwiches, salads, and a few noodle dishes and a fish entree or two.  Other items that sounded good: Crispy Tofu, Halibut, Salmon reuben, ELT (eggplant blt), Veggie Mac N Cheese.

They double as a coffee shop/wifi lounge/cafe by day, and from what I've heard they have really good coffee.

Our server was a sweet gal from Georgia with lots of helpful menu recommendations - she also told us about the live music that was going on in the club/venue around back - we ended up going to the show - The Tall Pines, Oakley Hall, Justin Townes Earle, and Charlie Louvin (all amazing, except the Tall Pines, which was a little disappointing).

92YTribeca also has a ton of gallery space, a screening room where they show documentaries, and a lecture hall - check out their program schedule; looks like they've put a lot of thought into bringing awesome performances and artsy fartsy stuff.  I'll definitely be back.

just did a gig here last weekend for my friend's EP release party... the space was excellent! Parking was kind of a pain but it was a Saturday evening, so that was a given.  The space is really clean, and the sound system was excellent!   I'd love to do more gigs here or places similar to it..  Oh yeah, try the gruyere grilled cheese... please!

Stay away from this co-ed softball league! I joined this past summer and had a terrible and unwelcoming experience. My team was 0-10, and apparently didn't win a single game the last year either. My team members were actually nice, we were just worse than the Bad News Bears.

Tried to get the attention of the league commissioner Tim, as well as "acting director" of the 92Y Tribeca Naomi, that team compositions were way out of balance (since the first game of the season). In fact, several of my team members had disabilities, and others just had never played the game before. I asked if we could coordinate extra coaching or assistance of some kind...but it all fell on deaf ears.

This was in contrast to most teams that had a well-oiled machine of all-stars. Needless to say, we were blown out of almost every game. To the point of embarrassment, heckling, and unsportsmanlike conduct. Most of my team stopped showing up towards the end of the season since we were completely demoralized, and we simply started forfeiting games because the situation was so out of control.

I didn't join the league to "win", but rather to have fun, be social, and spend my sundays in central park. Sounds great right? But nobody wants to be on a team that lacks basic fundamental skills, when you are playing in a league that is clearly hyper-competitive. What I don't understand is why the league didn't prevent this from happening for a second year (remember, my team didn't win a single game last year either)?

Apparently, the league commissioner and the 92Y likes to have a situation where one team is beaten to a pulp every Sunday. Repeated attempts to get assistance from 92Y management went ignored until our whole team starting forfeiting games as symbolic gesture. Still 92Y wouldn't accept responsibility, and laid blame on my team captain, the other team captains, draft policies, the precise angle of the sun, and anything else they could scapegoat.

Anyways, its a darn shame, because on a whole the people who play in this league are really nice people. And if you're lucky enough to be on "the right team" then you'll be fine. Unfortunately, the management of the league is completely irresponsible and unresponsive. In the end, they gave me a $30 refund on my league fees.

I doubt these issues will be corrected by next season. Sorry to say, stay away and join the zog sports league instead. Perhaps in a second post, I'll outline the safety oversights that equally went unaddressed.

I was in the area as the bf had an event and I was meeting him after. Being a bit early and cold, was looking for a cafe/starbucks to hang around in, but this area is DESERTED... until I saw this cute cafe.

Had a cranberry lemonade that was really really good, and a smoked salmon cream cheese bagel which I liked quite a bit. Quiet (I was there 8:30pm-ish) and staff was friendly. I sat for over an hour till closing and nobody chased me away :)

Cafe area decor is nice and white, I like it. There was an Economist event going on in the back but I didn't take a look. Clean bathroom (+++)!

Overall, cute little cafe which is great if you're in the area, though I wouldn't travel all the way downtown just for the food. They do have interesting events lined up though!

92Y Tribeca (moroccan braised tuna w/ saffron onions on a mini brioche bun) [Taste of TriBeCa] - definitely unique, spices weren't as overpowering as I had expected, purists unrejoice!, just OK

I've only been able to visit 92Y Tribeca once for the Blitz the Ambassador record release party.  I really enjoyed it.  When I walked in I thought it was going to be a horrible night because I realized I gave the cab driver my one $20 bill instead of one of two $5 bills I had in my bag...good tip night for him.  I was glad I was mistaken and instead had a great time.  Everything was organized, the bartender was nice and the waitress was very attentive.  The show was fantastic!  I walked in knowing only one person and left with like 10 new friends.  I hope I do get the opportunity to check it out again, but thus far they are definitely a spot in my NY address book.
