I live right down the street from this place and I have to admit I was skeptical. Yet, time and time again I find myself impressed with what the Bronx has to offer. I need to learn to trust my borough better and give every place a shot!! 900 Park, you exceeded my expectation and the quality and service was far better than what I have received in Manhattan and Westchester County.
Ok, on to the specifics.
On a whim, I decided to head to 900 Park to try out the "Champagne Brunch" on a sunday.
Unlimited mimosa, belinnis, champagne plus a gourmet spread of breakfast and lunch food??!! There is carving station, raw seafood bar and omelet bar!!
Dear God, it was awesome!!
If you go, make sure to make reservations for the brunch. It is really popular and extremely affordable! -

This is a restaurant which captures a feel for the Italian American flavor of the Morris Park area in the Bronx. There is a wink-wink-nudge-nudge effect as well, where they were advertising an event where Real Housewives of NJ stars would be present and sponsoring. Inside, the waitstaff is very welcoming and attentive, including the 16 yr old busboys who avail themselves earnestly. Families and smaller parties were well cared for, and across the room we could here cheers for surprise visitors ("Hey! This is my neighbor, Tony, and his wife, Joanne, from when we went to Columbus!). Additionally, when there were some questions about the check, our waiter was ready to make corrections. Because of the warmth of the staff and the atmosphere, there are considerations of reserving a catering event there.
At the same time, the food was underseasoned and a bit generic. We ordered an appetizer sampler, including mounds of fried zucchini, eggplant with mozzarella, and roasted red peppers stuffed with ground beef. Though we had ordered a plate for 2, they provided a plate for 4 (which we paid for), and this was excessive for us. All of the appetizers were underseasoned, or otherwise generic. For our main courses, for which we had very limited space (our mistake), the chicken marsala and veal dishes were both tough, rubbery, and over-cooked, despite efforts to sauce the meats well. It is possible that they were under the kitchen heaters too long while we were addressing the appetizers. The best dish was the salad with lump crab meat, grilled shrimp, avocado, and gorgonzola (which was mild). It is usually a surprise that cheese and crab/shrimp can pair well (for my tastes), but it was really lovely -- even as a left over.
Prices were a bit high, therefore, for the quality of food.
In the future, I hope to try different dishes and to broaden my review, because the service and atmosphere was fantastic, and I would like to enjoy the place more. -

I went here for dinner last night and really enjoyed it! I wasn't sure about this place because of the mixed reviews, but i like to try things out for myself. I had a steak and gorgonzola salad and grilled vegetable appetizer. I thought the appetizer wouldn't be that good but it was amazing! The salad was large and very well made. The waiter was on point and never ignored us or came by too much.
The atmosphere was beautiful. A little fancy but not too expensive for how it looked inside.
This is only my first time going here so i will update when i go again!
UPDATE:::::
So i went here saturday night at ten for dinner. Music was blasting which kinda disturbed my romantic dinner but considering it was a saturday night and late ... What could i expect? The place was packed and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. For dinner i had the same salad as last time - ordering steak medium done for my salad which was def well well done! My boyfriend ordered a strip steak meduim which was done correctly but he said that it wasnt that good of meat. Also his steak only came with a side of a tiny pototoe croquet which was very dissapointing for a 20$ steak. Also after dinner he ordered a brownie sunday which was hard as a rock! Ugh. Im soo dissapointed after my good experience only a few days ago.. However The waitress we had was really good! -

As opposed to all the negative reviews posted about this place. I did not have a bad experience at all. I am EXTREMELY SATISFIED. I went here for BRUNCH on a Sunday which is an unlimited buffet for $25 which also included unlimited mimosas and bloody marys. My cousins and I went here to celebrate her birthday and we had a blast. OUR WAITER ROBERT WAS AWESOME! He always came back to refill our drinks and to take our finished plates of the table. We were extremely satisfied with his service he made it very welcoming and my cousins and I will definitely be coming back to this place. As a matter of fact I will be going there with my friend tomorrow for some brunch.
The breakfast foods my favorite was the bacon, french toast and scrambled eggs. They even have waffles made for you at request. The lunch was great especially the mashed potatoes, salad, tacos, chicken strips. I am very happy because everything I put on my plate tasted delicious. For desert I had cake and I just cannot explain how great this place is. Robert kept refilling our mimosas which were included in the unlimited cost of our brunch and they tasted good and added to the fun of the atmosphere.
My cousins and I were amazed by a guy they have in the restaurant that makes items out of balloons. He has an incredible talent and kept the kids entertained as well as us the adults.
The atmosphere is very welcoming and I felt very comfortable. The temperature within the place was excellent which is important to me because I do not like to feel too hot or too cold.
I definitely recommend this place for Sunday brunch. Best brunch place I have been to so far.
BY THE WAY THANK YOU ROB YOU ARE THE BEST!!! -

REVIEW FOR DELIVERY ONLY
We ordered the chicken fettucine alfredo and jumbo fried shrimp with potato croquettes. The food was absolutely amazing BUT the shrimp WERE NOT DEVEINED. Do they know that's the shitbag?! We ended up tossing the shrimp and splitting the pasta. What a waste of $$ and time.
Also, I'm not sure what quirky belief these folks have about not including dessert on their take out menu..I don't think anyone is going to steal the secret to the family's cheesecake.
The food is pretty solid here but they really need to clean their shrimp and allow their precious confections the chance to be enjoyed somewhere other than their dining area. -

I've ordered from and ate at 900 Park a few times. They have now lost us as customers. My wife and I ordered from them last week and didn't receive the soda we had paid for with the meal. I forgot about it when the delivery guy came but remembered and called back, no big deal. I was told that soda was sent and that there could be no mistake because the manager had packed the bag. I'm not crazy, I did not receive soda and really couldn't misplace a bag with two 2 liter bottles. The manager I talked to said that they were short staffed and he himself put the soda in the bag and that the delivery guy didn't have it. So I paid for soda that I never received. I told the manager I would not be giving them my business anymore and he said "ok". Great customer service there.
The food is good but frankly it's not good enough in a neighborhood with a dozen good to great Italian restaurants. I'd rather not take the chance of not getting what I ordered than having to deal with bad customer service. -

I have been going to this location for years, and have been a customer through all the turn overs. It is finally back to the quality of food/service, that the original Mamma Marie's had been. The restaurant does a great job, mixing traditional/standard italian dishes with modernized dishes. The set up is very nice and comfortable, but not to casual. There is a nice bar/lounge area, then a sitting area for dinner. On Sundays the brunch is fabulous! Buffett style and the line does get long, but it is buffet, it is what should be expected. They make up for it by constantly refilling your drinks. The prices are standard for the area, and the quality of food is at its highest.

Solid italian spot with lots of options; nicely sized bar, lounge area with couches, large dining room, and private space for parties. The whole restaurant was glittering with holiday lights and trees. It was warm and cozy and perfect for a dinner with friends after a long work day. They have some fun martinis and cocktails, oversized and only $9 (cheap compared to Manhattan prices). However, I found my pomegranate martini watered down.... I wasn't even buzzed after two.
The bread was hot and crusty and served with flavored olive oil. We were quickly asked if we wanted more, but it took forever to get a refill. It also took FOREVER for our waiter to take our order, bring us drinks, second drinks, and eventually bring us the check. The busboy was more attentive to us and he couldn't really bring us anything we needed. It was late on a Thursday night with hardly anyone there, so I'm not even sure where what the waiter was doing.
The food wasn't bad, I'm snobby when it comes to italian food (nothing beats home cooked) but my linguine and clams was exactly what I needed. -

If I could I would give this place a zero, or is there a negative zero rating? It has nothing to do with the food (which is still delicious), nothing to do with the decor (which is still gorgeous). It's about the staff and as we all know, if you disregard the other variables IT IS ultimately the staff that makes you want to come back to a place.
Well here is the story: Sunday 9/4/2011 I had my wedding party at 900 and while all was fine and great, it's the ending that screwed up everything. I received two gifts one small party bag (with a card and check inside), the other bag was big (obviously a gift) and a card. When we were leaving at 11PM, we sat in the car and I go "Ohhhh, my gifts", we go get the gifts and THE BIG (gift) BAG'S CARD IS OPENED AND PLACED IN THE SMALL PARTY BAG...WHEREAS THE PARTY BAG'S CARD WITH THE CHECK IS MISSING COMPLETELY!!! This is all within 5 mins of us packing to leave, settling in the car and going right back to the place. I asked the staff, they just said nothing, we don't know, and basically just wanted to clean and go home...While I didn't catch anyone in the act, I believe it's obvious what happened here!
Yesterday 9/6/11 I called the place to inquire if the card w. the check somehow appeared...no it didn't. I got a call from the owner, we went over the scenario, the story, etc. He said he's reviewing the cameras and I never heard from him again....no call, no e-mail, nada!
Do I have to tell you HOW MEBARRASSED I was to have to tell my party that their gift is missing, and that my friend has to go to the bank and cancel a check??????????? I was so ashamed, after I raved about this place.
I am not going to conclude, give you an advise, or vent as we all have our opinions about places, and people, and my story doesn't really affect you, but personally I don't feel the need TO EVER go into an establishment where I have to fear of being taken advantage of in any way!!!! And I am yelping so that you can judge for yourself and form an opinion about this place.
UPDATE AFTER THE OWNER'S REVIEW:
All you said is true, just for reference the morning of 9/4/11 when I came in to decorate I mentioned a party of 10, not 15. Even initially, I always mentioned it will be a party of 13-15 people, NEVER 20!
Secondly, I did NOT request the private room it was OFFERED to me, big difference.
Third, that night yes, however after that night NO ONE accused your staff of taking anything, even this review notes that!
Fourth, you never followed up as you said you would cause you only looked at the tape while we were there...OF COURSE no one would go to the bag while I'm there...LOOK at your tape AFTER I exited your place and came back 3 minutes later....
Fifth, a party of 8 was still CHARGED for 10 people...I have the receipt if you need to see it.
Sixth, how can we then explain an envelope missing from your place, w/o even exiting your establishment? $25 later, yes it's a shame, and the check is cancelled....
Seventh, your staff was yelled at only after they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about, and they definitely did NOT HELP me look for anything,, they were busy cleaning in order to close.
Like I said before, I didn't push my opinion onto no one, everyone will ultimately decide for themselves. I just know what I have to do.Comment from John F. of 900 Park 9/12/2011

I decided to give 900 Park a chance after it was re-vamped from being Mamma Maria's. It's a gorgeous space, with a large area indoors with a ton of two-tops and a welcoming bar. The outdoor balcony area has a handful of tables and two lounge areas with couches. We decided to sit outdoors because it was a cool Spring evening. The restaurant was empty except for two other tables when we arrived, but a few groups showed up afterwards. We were given a warm basket of bread and butter and some delightful cocktails.
I ordered the Grilled Swordfish in a balsamic reduction sauce and my date had the Broiled Pork chops. I was surprised by the appearance of my dish...the balsamic reduction made it look like the fish was doused in ink. But the flavors were right and the dish was very good. The swordfish was probably a minute overcooked, but that's not really enough to complain (unless you're Chef Ramsey). My date raved about his pork chops, which were well seasoned and we were using the remainder of the sauce to dip the bread in. Both dishes came with a side salad...barely worth the mention. You just can't get a good salad in the Bronx unless you're eating at a chain (Panera, Applebees, etc).
Generally, we had a great experience at 900 Park. The ambiance was clean and pleasing, the servers were polite and prompt, and the food was tasty. I plan to come back on the weekend, because I hear they clear the tables and bring in a DJ! -

I'll give 4 stars to average out to 3.5 with the other review. The space is great here--outdoor patio lounge with chic couches and palm trees, indoor dining room with romantic lighting and a huge bar, and then a banquet area in the back with what could be a small bar, views of the brick oven (perfect for wedding reception or company parties). The cocktails were very good and reasonably priced although the only wine they serve by the glass is house and the Pinot Grigio I ordered was shyte. The pizza was ok, but not nearly as good as Patricia's down the street; 900's was watery and lacked that delicious salty chewiness in the crust. Next time I'll definitely order something else. The service was very good and the chocolate covered cheesecake was a great ending to the meal.

I was visiting from out of town in February and found this jewel of a restaurant in the Bronx. The decor was absolutely gorgeous...simply elegant! Its ambiance was the same, with a nice mix of patrons. i was welcomed by a host and the wait staff was tending to us immediately after being seated. The service was exceptional throughout the night! Now I'm not much of a drinker, but I ordered some coffee liqueur that was to die for! I'm horrible with remembering names of drinks, but I also tried some fruity drink, and that, too, was really good! Anyways, my point is that they've got a good bar, as well! Now the food......SUPERB! I could've stopped with the appetizers alone as they serve very generous portions. Coming from a diner who dines out nearly everyday (as I hate to cook), the price points at 900 Park is so reasonable for the service, the atmosphere, the food, the drinks. I came back again in August (this time with my whole family) and everything was as I described once more. Maybe I've just been lucky both times I've dined here, or maybe the restaurant is just simply good!
