I interviewed many planners and decided on Patty to do full service planning. Patty and I clicked right away and her services and prices were extremely reasonable. Patty is an awesome wedding planner! She is super organized and sincerely cares about her clients. I am super hands on when it comes to the wedding and she was able to allow me to let go and enjoy the day. She had great vendor suggestions and advice. The only feedback I have is that her sweet personality was no match for my loud and overbearing family on the day of the rehearsal. With my family you have to be sort of a drill sergeant and really throw your voice to make sure everyone pays attention and knows what to do. But my family is difficult to begin with so anyone would have had a hard time with them. Overall I was super happy with how the wedding went and I highly recommend Patty and 8 Events!

Patty was both my day-of coordinator and florist for my wedding on July 31, 2010, and I have to say she pulled it off beautifully! The guests were raving all night about how beautiful the centerpieces were, and even the hotel's catering manager came up to me to comment on how beautiful the flower arrangements were for the reception. In the midst of all the setup that was going on, she still managed to guide my fiance and I and our entire bridal party through the ceremony, and later through the reception (grand entrances, toasts, gown changes and the like). She brought food for me while I was getting my hair and makeup done to make sure I had something in my belly when I finally walked down the aisle, and she gave detailed instructions to my bridesmaids on what to do with all our bouquets before, during, and after the ceremony.
Later, when my now-husband and I didn't know how to do the cake cutting, she was there patiently whispering instructions to us on how to cut the cake, and even whispered instructions to us on shoving the icing in each other's faces! Now that's service! I know there must have been some last minute glitches with some of the setup and stuff, but not once was I bothered with any last minute problems. From where I was sitting, everything went off without a hitch, which is what she promised from the beginning.
I can't begin to thank Patty for everything she did for us, so hopefully this glowing review will in some way compensate her for everything she did to make our day wonderful. If you are looking for a wedding coordinator and florist for your big day, Patty will come through for you with flying colors. I would hire her again in a heartbeat. -

I've worked w/ Patty from 8 Events many times this year. I was luckily enough to collaborate w/ Patty and her company. She is thorough (you should see her timelines!), efficient and gets the job DONE!
She is very well respected in the Wedding Industry and I will highly recommend my brides over and over again to Patty w/ 8 events. My good friend Jira from Wow Pretty and I always praise Patty for her unique style and attention to details.
I look forward in working w/ you more in 2011!!

To me, Patty epitomizes the spirit of American small business. She loves helping people plan their weddings and she decided to make a business out of it on her own. I'm sure it's not easy competing with all the other more established planners out there, as she is relatively new to the industry but I have nothing but good things to say about our experience with Patty. We wanted flowers and some help with planning but we didn't want to break the bank.
At a bridal faire we met with some planning "consultants" that were charging $300/hr for their services. To put that into perspective, that is more than a good MD clinical consultant might charge to give advice on a medical trial, and sounds even more outrageous if you think of it as them pulling down $600,000/year normalized to a full-time work week.
Thankfully Patty doesn't charge an arm and a leg and provides efficient, organized friendly planning services. We appreciated her can-do spirit and were very pleased with the flowers on the day of our wedding. In her coordinator role, she exhibited a good balance of firmness and flexibility on our day of. She also went beyond giving advice on the day of and gave us a good suggestion for our rehearsal dinner venue and advice about matters of protocol and etiquette. I couldn't have asked for a better day-of-coordinator and florist for our wedding on Nov. 8, 2008. I found Patty through Yelp and Project Wedding and had to meet this person with such rave reviews. After I read on her website that she caters to floral designs of all sizes and budgets, I knew we had to meet her. Via email, I vaguely explained my floral vision â" various shades of purple and table centerpieces with flowers submerged in multiple cylinder vases. At our meeting, Patty presented us with her interpretation of my vision and stayed within our minuscule floral budget. We walked out of the meeting knowing with certainty that we had to look no further.
We hired Patty for day-of-coordination but she was always ready and available to answer any questions and provide suggestions throughout our entire planning process. She went absolutely above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. I consider myself meticulous and organized but Patty is so unbelievably on-point with every tiny detail.
Her floral arrangements are artistic, fresh, and picturesque. All our guests admired the flowers and I owe it all to Patty. I don't know how she was able to deliver all those flowers from Sunnyvale to Monterey (a 1 1/2 hour drive) and her delivery charge was very fair.
Patty truly loves weddings and it reflects in her work. Thank you Patty for giving us the wedding of our dreams! -

Patty was my day-of-coordinator for my August '09 wedding. My husband and I first met Patty in December '08 for our in-person consultation. We immediately felt at ease with her. Patty listened to our vision and preferences for our wedding and we felt that we clicked with her instantly.
At the time, I was still in grad school in Boston. Patty was always accessible through e-mail and responded right away. She's very organized and pays special attention to detail which made the last part of wedding planning so much easier for me. Since Patty is experienced with weddings, she brought up things that I wouldn't even have thought of, which was very helpful.
Patty drafted up an extremely detailed day-of wedding timeline for me. She was very receptive and open to any changes that I wanted. She also contacted all my vendors to make sure that they would be on time and set-up correctly on the day of the wedding. She also coordinated our rehearsal and made sure that it went smoothly.
Patty went above and beyond expectations on our wedding day. She made me feel relaxed, put me at ease, and took care of the behind-the-scenes and little details.
We did have one problem with a vendor (arriving late, not setting up properly at all), but Patty took care of it at the time and made sure that my husband and I enjoyed the rest of the day.
It was such a pleasure working with Patty! She was extremely approachable, attentive, reachable, organized, and down-to-earth. She was one of the reasons that our wedding day went so smoothly. We couldn't have asked for a better day-of-coordinator! Thank you so much, Patty! -

After working with several independent vendors I realized just how important customer service is and Patty definitely knows how to please her customers. I was the type of bride that didn't know exactly what she wanted and kept changing my mind. I sent Patty tons of emails with picture attachments and after everything was said and done, Patty gave me beautiful flower memories that will last a lifetime.
If you're looking for a florist with artistic skills, who responds quickly to emails, works with your budget, then call Patty. Just take a look at her website and blog, you will be inspired! My flowers are under the August Wedding in Berkely.
Needless to say, I really enjoyed working with Patty, and I would definitely introduce her to my friends. -

Patty is a one girl wrecking ball. Not only did she astound me with making our wedding just beautiful...she did many things on the fly for us. Being Chinese American, there are a lot of traditions we forget and some entail flowers, and the girl on the fly-made boutineers for family members unaccounted for.
Anyways, I have a million stories, but I think pictures say more. Hit me up for more stories or pictures. I highly recommend Patty as she is on time, on the ball, organized and easy to work with. Not to mention her arrangements are fabulous. -

My wife booked Patty as our day of coordinator. Best decision we made. I was very impressed at how organized and professional she was. She definitely made our lives so much easier by taking care of all the details and contacting vendors, all the while keeping us in the loop. She was always available to give us advice and gave great suggestions. She is very well connected with other great vendors. She is very down to earth, approachable, attentive, accommodating, and thoughtful. Our big day went as smooth as it could get, thanks to Patty. My only regret was that we only booked her as our day of coordinator, and did not book her to be our coordinator from the beginning. She is the absolute best.

I met up with Patty based on Yelp and Project Wedding reviews looking for a day of coordinator who lived in the area and was familiar with Asian customs. She definitely has the right attitude and I think the right intentions, I just struggled to work well with her throughout the process.
The major frustration I had was when she was supposed to contact my vendors a month ahead of my wedding to confirm arrangements. She had emailed me around that time to assure me that she would be emailing them. It wasn't until I met with my officiant about a week and a half later that I realized she hadn't done so. To her credit, she did email them immediately after I inquired about it. However, in this email she also stated she would be the main contact from there on forward which wasn't what we agreed upon. With a couple weeks to the wedding, there was a lot of last minute arrangements going on and some emailed her and some emailed me due to her instructions. I was worried that something would fall between the cracks and while we eventually made the agreement to CC each other on all emails, there were a few times she forgot and this situation just generally caused a lot of confusion and worry on my end.
She also appeared nervous and inexperienced at the rehearsal. She called my brother by the wrong name several times even after we corrected her, so much so that it became a joke amongst the wedding party. I was the one who had to get the rehearsal started as she made no effort to get the group together. Then, she started the rehearsal at the ceremony, working backwards to the processional. I'm no expert but between the entire group who was there, none of us had ever gone through a rehearsal in backwards order before.
On the day of, there were a lot of small things that I noticed and probably made no difference in the end. The one thing I would like to point out was that at one point during dinner, I looked up from my plate and saw her assistant goofing off in the courtyard with the photographers. I know that once we start eating, there wasn't much that needed to be done, but while I was paying them to be there, I just wanted to see a bit more professionalism.
I wrote all of this as my impressions of working with Patty as fairly as possible. Looking back at the reviews, I'm thinking now that she is probably better suited as a florist than just a coordinator and I should have booked someone who was more focused on providing solely coordinating services. -

Patty is absolutely AMAZING! She did the flowers for my wedding on August 10th. She's so sweet and such a pleasure to work with. Her prices are very affordable; she is able to work with any budget. And she's flexible as well...I had to add on 25 extra pin-on flowers for relatives about a month before the wedding, and it was no problem at all. She's one of those vendors that make wedding planning much easier. Definitely worth it to contact her!!

My friend, Grace, recommended her to me when I was trying to find one florist for my sister's wedding. She presented some of her work to me before we made up our mind if we should use her. Her work is stunning, so we decided that she would be the one we needed. We signed the contract; gave her our budget, theme colors, and a couple pieces of ideas; however, we didn't expect too much since she had to work with our low budget (I felt bad for Patty because it seemed I was asking her to accomplish a mission impossible - low budget, high demand =P bad customer, eh?). BUT, she first gave us valuable advices, and then she impressed everyone who attended my sister's wedding! She also helped arranged the restaurant without extra charge, from the reception table to guess tables to head table. I cannot think of anyone else being able to turn the wedding into more gorgeous due to the limited budget, but she did it! We all appreciate her work and kindness, and we are recommending her to all our friends.
Work with her, and you will know how nice she is, and how amazing her work is. She definitely knows what she is doing! -

Patty did a phenomenal job on very short notice with my company's holiday party floral decor. She was very easy to work with and very responsive to our requests. We had a party at the Fairmont hotel in San Jose and Patty showed up on time, did a beautiful job with the decorating and stayed to make sure that everything was perfect in time for my arrival. I would recommend her in a heartbeat!

I did not anticipate on hiring a wedding coordinator. Thank goodness I changed my mind and hired Patty from 8events! I don't know how I would've gotten through the whole planning process and the wedding day without her. Patty helped me from the start, giving me creative ideas about decorations and helpful tips and advice. She did a superb job at working with all of my vendors and coordinating the logistics. I was surprisingly relaxed even on the week and day of my wedding. As for the wedding day itself, there are no words! Patty did an AMAZING job at setting up all of the decorations and making sure everyone was on schedule. She went above and beyond and I truly had a fairy tale wedding day largely because of her!

Patty was a delight and we were so happy that we hired her to do the flowers for our wedding on September 20. From the very beginning, Patty made it her mission to provide us with beautiful flowers...within our budget. She had many wonderful ideas and incorporated those ideas into gorgeous flowers at our wedding. In fact, several of our guests complimented us about how beautiful the flowers were. (Another clue of how much people enjoyed the flowers - after our reception ended, all of the centerpieces were gone!) On the day of our wedding, Patty was calm and professional - even though her helper failed to show up - and helped pin on boutonnieres and corsages during our photo session. She also included extra flowers we didn't even think of. For example, she put flowers on our name card table and this really dressed up the table a lot! She helped to make our wedding a huge success and we're very thankful.
Patty was always responsive whenever I had made a change or had a question. She really listened to my concerns. Although I know she was very busy, she made me feel as if our wedding was the only one on her radar at the moment. She is a tremendous floral designer and will make your wedding absolutely beautiful. I would recommend Patty and 8events to anyone looking for beautiful floral arrangements at affordable prices. -

Patty is a great wedding planner, not only because how great of job
she did on my wedding, but how enthusiastic she is on what she does. Patty had basically taken care of everything for me in such a short turn around period. Good advises were given through out the entire preparation process, from providing me with good recommendations on florists, photographers, DJ's, wedding sites and bakeries, to becoming my wedding facilitator. It was nice to have a knowledgeable guide like her to help prepare a perfect wedding. With her help, I can ensure that you're in good hands and you will never forget about this most memorial moment in your life!

Five stars is the max rating but I'd give her a hundred if I could. She did my sister's wedding on 9/27/07 - and her work was just so beautiful (and affordable) that I wanted her to do mine the following year!
Patty did my wedding on 9/6/08. She did an excellent job. It's very difficult to put into words how spectacular her work is, but it was above and beyond anything we could have imagined. She is affordable and by far the most attentive and accomodating person to work with. She also really helped us by giving us advice and suggestions. She saved us from a few disasters at the venue and on the fly - just minutes before our ceremony! She's wonderful!

Patty helped me with my wedding on September 28th, 2008. She was such a pleasure to work with. I came to like her personality the first time I met her. She was kind, outgoing and knows what she does. After only a short conversation she was able to gave me a detailed list of what's needed for the wedding. I accepted almost all her designs.
She also works well with our budget. She delivered and setup all the center pieces to our wedding location in Walnut Creek without any charge. She even sent us two free appreciation bouquets (for us to gave to our mom during the wedding ceremony). Her flowers are very fresh and pretty. I love my bridal bouquet and all the boutonnieres ( I can never spell the word correctly). The only thing is that the the brides maid bouquets do not look as fresh, but it might due to the fact that roses don't last as long as other flowers. Overall I am very happy with her services and would definitely recommend her to my friends. -

Patty is one of the wedding vendors that I would highly recommend. When I first met her, I could already feel her passion in floral arrangement. She gave me a lot of ideas on colors, type of flowers and how to save money on floral arrangement at our wedding. During the brainstorming process, she was being very responsive via email and patience with me.
I mentioned to her that I would like to have peony for my own bouquet. Since peony might not be in season, she suggested me to use garden rose as a second choice. After my research on garden rose, I did like it. Two days before my wedding, Patty called me from the floral market, she told me both garden rose and peony were available and she asked me which one I'd like to get. I was so surprised that she made that call to me!
The floral design at my wedding turned out to be great! I love my bouquet, my bridesmaids' bouquet, boutonniere, and centerpiece. Her price is also reasonable. I feel so thankful that I chose to work with her. -

8events did the flowers for my wedding on July 4th and did an amazing job! The flowers were fresh for the whole day (and even lasted for a week after the wedding), and the colors matched perfectly. Patty is professional, helpful during the planning stages, and very friendly - creating a superb experience for our wedding. I think the best comment I can make about her is that I didn't have anything to worry about in regards to flower on the wedding day. She really came through for us! Unbelievably, the prices were really fair as well - I definitely recommend 8events and Patty for your event.

Patty is truly God's gift from heaven. She is amzaing. My husband and I were so lucky to hire Patty as our florist and coordinator. She performed an outstanding job as our coordinator and presented us with such beautiful flowers. She is so talented and detailed oriented. Patty was on top of everything so that we could be ahead of the game. Once the wedding came around, everything that we mentioned to Patty was all taken care of and beyond. Of course there were last minute changes/surprises, but having Patty definately helped tremedously. She is such a pleasure to work with because she is very professional and organized. Patty will work closely with your budget and keep your vendors informed of any changes so that you don't even have to worry. Aside from her amazing work, her customer service is awesome. She made our wedding experience one to truly remember. I would definately recommend Patty if you are looking for an exceptional florist and coordinator. Her prices are very decent and the quality of her work/flowers are top knotch.

Patty did an amazing job for our wedding flowers on October 11. We wanted a fall theme and Patty really worked with us to bring about our vision for the day. She really listened, gave great suggestions and worked diligently within our budget. She was more than a florist; she was a friend who truly cared about us and wanted our wedding to be everything that we imagined it to be! Our flowers were fresh, rich in color and creative. I also have to mention that Patty saved the day when our baker brought in a cake that was cracked everywhere. She worked her magic with her flowers and no one knew the difference! I would recommend her to all my friends and family.
