Matt and Neil provide excellent service. They installed radient heating on the first floor and new basement construction in San Francisco, an 85 year old house retrofit, and did an amazing job. They also installed a water heater and just in time water heater system
For the past six years, they make sure to take care of us whenever we have questions or need to have the system maintained. They are so good we have recommended them to numerous friends.
My mother in-law had them put in central air conditioning in her home and they re-did the entire push air system for our best friend.

We purchased a newly constructed home a year ago and noticed our hardwood floors were buckling in 3 areas, we initially suspected that our radiant heat system was leaking. After much research and phone conversation w/multiple plumbing companies, we decided to enlist Matt at 88HVAC's help in diagnosing and remedying the problem.
Although Matt seemed quite knowledgable in the beginning about radiant heat systems, his diagnosis ended up being wrong. His analysis pointed to a leak in the system, but none of the other plumbers he had us bring out could identify a leak in the system (or replicate his diagnosis). The likely culprit for the buckling is structural. Although he never charged us for his visits (2-3 in total - b/c he was late for every visit and had to reschedule one after the fact), he made some adjustments to our system that caused additional leaks and when trying to schedule service time to repair the leaks, never showed up.
The hassle of having to deal with his incorrect diagnosis, pay for additional plumbing services (b/c Matt didn't have the correct equipment - although in the initial phone calls, he said he did), resulting leaks b/c of his analysis methods, and general unprofessionalism regarding keeping and making appointments on time made working with 88HVAC one of the worst contracting jobs we've experienced so far.Comment from Matt J. of 88HVAC 12/14/2011

Just bought a home less than six months ago in San Lorenzo. Upon having the dreaded home inspections done, it was brought to my attention that my furnace was shot, along with most of the ducting. I was stuck with using electricity guzzling space heaters in each room to keep my significant other and myself happy. After talking to a few customers of mine about how cold it has been, and how it's no fun living in a cold home... I was fortunate enough to bump in to 88hvac(Matt)! Matt walked me through all of the steps that it would take for his crew to do the job right. 88Hvac showed up right before I left for work, and COMPLETED the job just as I was off work. I got home, and was amazed at how there was HEAT coming out of the vents. I had a smile from ear to ear. Nothing like coming home to a welcoming warm home. Maybe I can make it to work on-time now, since it wont be such a drag to crawl out of bed.
I told 88hvac that I wanted done once, and done right. I didn't want any shortcuts, I just wanted to "set it and forget it". I wanted the heating system to be worry free for years, and maybe the next owners to come. He assured me I would not have any worries. I'm also amazed at how CLEAN of a job they did. I wish I could give 88hvac 10 stars, instead of 5. But you know what, I can.
