NOM NOM NOM.... this place was amazingly good. I'm not a huge fan of Pizza but i like the fact that we can create our own savory pizza. Had lots of options to choose in the meat department and assortment of other toppings. Although pizza isn't a very healthy choice of food but i liked that no grease was used on it and still was very flavorful. Can't wait to go and try again hoping my thoughts of this place can only get better.
Although i did notice it tends to be pretty busy! There was a line when we got there till the time we left... so expect to wait awhile.... but besides that recommend for sure!
Plus super cheap!! =) -

Quick Tips:
-I (a small asian girl) can finish a whole pizza by myself.
-Best when eaten immediately. No morning after delicious cold pizza for this place :(
Review:
I'm not a huge pizza connoisseur (damn those french and their very difficult to spell words) but this place is pretty good.
I ordered take out around 4pm for the shortest line. Didn't get a chance to eat it until around 6:30. I know pizza is meant to be eaten warm and fresh out of the oven but the wonderful thing about pizza is that it saves well and is sometimes even better cold!
This pizza just couldn't stack up in the cold category. The thin and chewy crust that they pride themselves on gets really gushy when you don't eat it right away. But ingredients seemed really fresh and tasty.
I had sausage, ricotta, basil, mozzarella, and roasted tomatoes. YUM. I can't wait to come back and brave the line to try it warm! -

A little to hyped up in my opinion. The pizza was pretty good, I have had better. It was nice to get a beer or glass wine with our food.
The line killed me. The system they have setup is bothersome. That is the main reason this place gets 3 stars and not 4 stars. -

I really wish I could give this place more than 2 stars because I appreciate the prices ($6 for a margherita pizza or $10 for a couple of more toppings) and the innovative ordering process (they customize/make each pizza right in front of you).. but how can a pizza place with lines out the door turn SOGGGGYYY even before you take your first bite??
The toppings literally slide right off the soggy pizza bread as you try to pick up each slice to take a bite. As you're about to reach for the second slice of soggy pizza that's dripping and falling apart, you can't help but regret having stayed in line all that time for one of the worst pizzas in Westwood.
I must note, though, that their plain margheritas and pizza blancos (i.e. no tomato sauce) don't turn as soggy, and when topped with some arugula and prosciutto, make for a decent pizza experience. -

Thankgod I have no excuse to ever find myself here again. One thought: wolf in sheep's clothing.
Why? Well, strip down all the college-student hype and the "gourmet" ingredients and you get what you pay for:
1. Soggy pizza
2. Flavorless sauce, salads, and toppings
3. Lines like Bay Cities, Chego, and Diddy Riese but minus the "worth-it" satisfaction
Oh, and what - Can't get my pizza right? Ordered the Tartufo which came out burnt. Second time, the wrong pizza. Third time, forgot the arugula and truffle oil.
Really? I'd much rather pay twice the price and get to eat alongside my friend and actually enjoy my food.
For the real deal, try pizza from:
Stella Rossa
Milo and Olive
Don't flock like the rest of them...Stray west of the 405. -

This place has a line like it's Malony's on a Tuesday Night...every single night. No, this isn't Pint Night, where the memories are hazy at best.
This. is. 800 Degrees!
--Where you can experience pizza in soup form!
--Where you can pay too much for not enough pizza!
and...
--Where you can drunkenly spend too much for toppings that make the drunk side of you scream OMGOSH YES MUST HAVE SQUID ON MY PIZZA!
In all fairness, the fresh globs of cheese the put on it is really, really good. Everything else after that, isn't worth your time or money. Also, the place is open late making it a haven for everyone exiting Brewco.
What's worse is this place has developed a cult following, meaning that wait times are not going to do anything but increase. You know how college students work - they try something drunk, declare it AMAZING, then go on to talk to their friends about how it was the best meal they've ever had.
Does this ring a bell? Not yet? Do you remember when..Fat Sal's opened up? Most people I know who rank Fat Sal's high also put this place in their top 5. I think this really speaks volumes about 800 degrees. If you love hype, you will love this restaurant. If you yelp a lot, then you'll probably not like it.
If you really want pizza, I recommend Lamonica's. You can get a large cheese pizza for $9 every evening. But...if you're still dying to try the 800 Degrees Experiment, I'd highly suggest doubling your mozzarella cheese for an extra $1. It will make your experience twice as good.
Just try to take a slice of your pizza, and become frustrated as the cheese slides off onto your plate. There's no contest - 800 Degree pizza is just SOUP-reme! -

Love the concept! Choose your own toppings and 5 minutes later, a customized Neapolitan pizza is ready.
However, the sign of a good Neapolitan pizza is all about the crust--it should be crispy all the way through to the center, slightly charred, chewy yet soft. My pizza was soggy and fell apart in the middle, though the actual outer crust tasted good. Still, as far as Neapolitan pizzas go, it should NEVER be soggy.
The price is good though. Go late (10pm and after) to beat the long wait. -
Review from Jason A.
Westwood has been in need of a good pizza joint for over a decade. I'm sad that it took this long to get a place like 800d to settle here.
When we rolled up, the line looked intense, but it goes fast. The pizza makers are pumping out pies like no tomorrow. You get to choose one of 3 pizzas, then add your own toppings to make it your own creation. They also have a few of their own creations that are pretty yum as well.
We got the Tartufo, the Carni, the Margherita, and I made one with Truffle cheese, meatballs, and pine nuts on a bianca (white pizza) base. All were awesome. The meatballs are a-spicy-meata-ball! So watch out. haha. The truffle cheese?? Magnifico.
They have some good bottle sodas but for over $3, I decided to get water. Most of our pizzas were about $10-$15 each... but the base pizzas are only about $7-8. I think it's a good deal. 3 pizzas will feed 4 people.
Enjoy. I sure did. -

Eight-Hundred Degrees...what can I say? If I lived next to this place I'd be a fat kid and broke!
I freakin' love this place. Don't be intimidated by the long line here; it moves fast. And why wouldn't there be a line? The pizzas here are fresh and made to order just the way you like it.
My first go around here I built my own pizza with the Margherita base and added toppings of my choice. If you're a purist you'll probably want to go this route.
Me? From now on I think I'm sticking with the Tartufo (truffle cheese, carmelized onions, mushrooms, and arugula). Trust me, even if you're not a fan of non-tomato based pizzas you have to try this. The Tartufo knocks all other pizzas out of the park.
Street parking is somewhat scarce so plan accordingly. -

Hate to rain on everybody's 800 Degrees hype parade but this place is pretty average. Here's why:
1. Lack of consistency. While this is the consequence of getting it made by hand from the doughing to the topping to the baking, it also means that you may find yourself munching along your pizza wondering where all this charred dust on the pizza bottom came from. Yes, my pizza was burnt -- not to the core, but enough for me to have to upend it and pick off unbearably scorched areas (and there were quite a few). And, it's not fun or fair when my friends too end up turning over their pizzas just to see if they were unlucky enough to have it happen to them too. No consistency here. Minus one star.
2. Goopy pizza/messy eating. How do you eat this without having to roll it into something that looks more like a taquito than a pizza? You don't. The thing is literally dripping before your eyes and falling into an uncontrollable mess before it even makes it to your mouth. This may be an intrinsic feature of the the neapolitan pizza style thing, but I don't dig it. Just something to note if you're expecting solid pizza that will hold itself together while on the trajectory towards your mouth. It won't.
There is a perk - it's one of the few decent eateries in Westwood that stays open relatively late. So, I'll come back here if I'm night owlin' it and need food, but I wouldn't consider this place otherwise. -

The flavors are good, the choices are good, but the pizza is so watery that the toppings fall off when you pick up a slice.
Lamonicas is just a block away with proper pizza for half the price. -

If your a baller, a shot caller, or have 20 inch blades on your impala, then this place is for you. Why? Because it's expensive and trendy. I'm kinda harsh on this place. For the amount of money one pays here you can get something better. The pizzas are pretty tasty; but to be honest, I prefer Lamonicas 10x's more! Also, the staff here isn't the best I have experienced. I went back to the counter to ask about my pizza, and the worker seemed kind of indifferent to me; like he just wanted to get rid of me.
Something that I did like about this place though, was the soda machine. I have never seen something that fancy in my life. You can get all kinds of drinks there, a mixture of drinks, and the mineral water was fancy schmancy.
Overall, the place isn't bad, but I would advice to the owner to tell their staff to try to be a lil more helpful. It's not all of them, but one or two who he needs to track down and refine. -

WHY DID THIS OPEN AFTER I GRADUATED?! 800 Degrees is exactly what the Westwood area needed. Cheap, delicious food in a great atmosphere. I envy you Bruins who can take advantage of this gem.
800 Degrees is located at the corner of Lindbrook and Westwood, where Daphne's used to be and right next to Peet's coffee. The place looks deceptively small from the outside, but inside there is plenty of seating. Our large group was able to find a table during the dinner rush.
The line was long, but the restaurant runs like a well-oiled machine. First, choose your base: Margherita, Bianca (white pizza), or Marinara. Then, choose your toppings, with most extras priced at $1. I opted for a simple Margherita pizza with mushrooms. $7.45 before tax. For a whole pizza. Not a greasy mess of a pizza, but one with perfectly cooked crust and delicious sauce.
Enzo's will always hold a special place in my heart, as the greasy 23 inch pizza made it's way to my apartment during many late nights spent "studying." Now the wiser, more sober, and college-degree-holding me appreciates quality ingredients at an affordable price. -

This is a GREAT place for pizza.
When you first walk up, you'll see a line going out the door. Don't be scared, the line goes super fast. Basically you'll get to the point in the line where you order your pizza. You can either order a set pizza or order a pizza base and choose your own toppings. They have a large selection of fresh toppings and you can see them making your pizza right in front of you.
When we went, we ordered the Tartufo (truffle cheese, mushrooms, garlic), Carni (tons of meat), Margherita, and we made one of our own with truffle cheese, meatballs, and pine nuts. The pizzas take about 10 minutes to cook. Everything was so good and fresh! The pizzas are "personal size" but we had 4 pizzas for the 4 of us and we should have gotten 3 pizzas instead. The Carni had so much meat on it and the truffle cheese and garlic on the Tartufo smelled so good. The Margherita was good but a little plain by itself. Next time I'll add some toppings to it. The crust is nice and thin. Overall I would definitely come here again for their awesome pizza.
There's a lot of tables inside but you might have to wait a little sometimes because it gets crowded. We waited about 5 minutes for a table for 4. I wouldn't come here with a large group unless you come at an off hour. Since this place is in Westwood, parking can be hard. If you're lucky, you can find street parking. There's a bunch of pay parking garages in the area too. -

This place is godsend to the LA area, particularly the west side! For under $10 you can eat great Neapolitan style pizza, and get that pizza made in front of you in under five minutes!
The toppings are all pretty top notch, and the dough is nice too.
Why 4 stars and not 5? Consistency.
Last night the crust was funky, and the cheese didn't come out nice and sexy like it should have. Usually everything goes right with this place, it's just the last few times have not been as good as the first few times I came here.
Any who, for the price, usual taste, and fast service, I would give this place a 4 to a 4.5. -

I really don't get the hype. If you want a soggy pizza that falls apart while transferring it from the tray on to your plate even though you're securing it with two utensils underneath, GO HERE. Also, despite adding about 6 toppings, my pizza didn't taste like anything until I added chili paste to it. Never going to go here again.

If I could give it 3 1/2 stars, I would., but the fairly decent pricing puts it at 4 stars.
I mean this place is tasty. I have been there a number of time and it is in the 3 week rotation. I like the ingredients and freshness. The pizza's do get really sloppy, but I guess that is the style? It's definitely decent and a fairly good price (although the prices just went up recently, which is crazy to me because they seem to have more than enough visitors). In any case, its worth a try but I don't think it deserves the crazy lines that it has. -
Review from Uy T.
After the hype died down, I managed to saunter in here around 11:50 AM to find a line only 4 people out the door. There was plenty of seating, and the line moved quickly.
Now, the food itself is really, really good. I had a forgettable salad with butter lettuce, but a rather good burrata salad with beets and arugula. The burrata had incredibly soft and fresh mozzarella, which makes all the difference in the world. As for the pizza itself, it came out cooked perfectly. I had prosciutto, garlic, and arugula on a margherita base. I'd probably skip on the prosciutto next time, since they charge extra and it's not that much better than pepperoni.
However, a couple of things that keep it from being five stars: As mentioned, the rather meh butter lettuce salad. But mainly, though the beginning of the line was nice and organized, once they actually put pizzas in the oven, it's like a free for all at that part of the counter. They wanted to give me a plain margherita pizza with garlic, but quickly fixed it when I pointed out I had prosciutto and argula (both added after cooking).
But bottom line is that the food is good, and I will be back here. -

Despite coming in for a late Sunday lunch, which was around 3 PM, there was a small line out the door. Luckily, the line went fast because the pizzas only takes about a minute to cook. The more time consuming part is deciding what you want on your pizza from a list of proteins, cheeses and vegetables.
I ordered the Pizza Bianca topped with chicken, soppressata and broccolini. I felt that the topping combination turned out well and the soppressata wasn't that spicy. The pizza crust turned out to be soft with a chewiness to it. After eating a whole pizza by myself in one sitting, I have to admit that my jaw was kind of sore.
The Neopolitan style crust is unique and not personally a favorite. I think it is good, but not a crust I would personally rave about. The customization of the pizza with the variety of toppings pushes up the score and barely makes a 4 star in my book.
Parking note: I looked for street parking around the streets lined with apartments south of Wilshire Blvd. Just drive southward along Westwood Blvd and turn into one of the smaller streets. I found a few spots right away on a Sunday afternoon. Your mileage may vary... -

Its funny because you can talk to other pizzarias nearby and the owners hate on this place .. saying that they paid too much for the spot and this and that.. But to me, I like it, but only been there once.. It reminds me of a subway in pizza form haha.. but the food is great!! I had the margarita pizza with chilli :) I would say pizza lovers will appreciate it! GO FOR IT!!!

I went to 800 Degrees this past weekend and the pizza was phenomenal - the best pizza I've had in a looooong time! The line was quite long, out the door, which made me nervous at first because I assuming I'd wait forever, however, the line moved pretty quickly. I notice they have a sign saying that you cannot save tables and that y the time you're finished ordering there will be a table, which was suprisingly true. The place did clear out by the time I ordered.
We got a Margherita pizza base with Carni toppings. I also love that they have the soda machine that allows you do get different flavors of traditional sodas.
Overall, the pizza was great and a good price. I would go back in a heartbeat. -
Review from Donna A.
Sorry- but I do not understand the HYPE! I mean I got two types of Pizzas and both had a soggy center with cheese that fell off. I understand that it is a cool experience to go thru the line and pick your toppings but it was still uncooked. I like a crispy crust-so this spot was not good for me.
BUT: You must try the Gelato- I think one of the most delicious ones I have ever tasted- I got the Chocolate Hazelnut and I could taste the Cocoa. -
Review from Jessica H.

There's a wait but don't let that demotivate you from eating at 800 degrees.. Once you make it to the front of the line you choose your base pizza. they have a variety of different red and white pizzas so you'll definitely find something to your liking.. once you've chosen what kind of pizza you want then comes the fun part.. they have an array of toppings to add to your pizza.. keep in mind it's +1$ for each topping.. well worth it in my opinion.. especially since the base price of the pizza is pretty low.
my friends and i ordered the margherita and pesto pizzas.. both delicious but our group agreed that the pesto one was the favorite of the night..
.. one thing to note is that their paper menu has a few more items than the menu you'll find on their wall.. the truffle cheese bread is a must try if you're a fan of cheesy bread.. we saw another table with it and didn't know what it was and when we asked they told us that it's on the paper menu.. i'm glad we asked because it was really good and worth it.. you could smell the truffle oil that they poured on the bread
4 people got pretty full off of 2 pizzas and the cheese bread..
also.. if you're a fan of soda they have the new super cool hip advanced soda machine where you choose your soda and once you've chosen your soda they have a variety of flavors that you can add to your soda -

What better way to celebrate LA Eater's Pizza Week than by going to 800 Degrees? The atmosphere at 9pm on a Friday was pretty cray. The line appeared daunting at first but moved pretty quickly.
It is the assembly line or Chipotle/ Subway approach to pizza. I loved the concept! You get an amazing pizza but they totally make it casual and fun. The prices are reasonable and they make your pizza super fast! We took our pizza home and the flavors held up but I am sure it would have been exceptional if we ate it there. I would highly recommend eating there if you can find a table.
There is a sign asking people not to save tables assuring you there will be plenty of seating once you move through the line. That is pretty much bull on a Friday night. You have a lot of people hanging out and having fun so be prepared to scan for seating or to take your pie home. I would definitely recommend this spot but go at an off time to avoid the chaos. -

Sorry, but - so, so, so overrated.
I came here at 11:30am on a Friday at the advice of my friend who told me it filled up for lunch. When I got there, I only had to wait about 5 minutes. I got my pizza and sat down and watched as the line snaked out the door to what I estimate was about a 45 minute wait. Why anyone would wait that long for this pizza is beyond me. Every time I drive by the place, the line is way out the door, too.
Don't get me wrong - it's good pizza. But it's not wait-in-line-for-45-minutes good. To be perfectly honest, the pizza I got was kinda watery and soggy, and too salty. I'm also not into the thin-crust thing, but, that's a personal preference, I suppose.
Sorry, I don't get it. Again, it's good pizza, but it just doesn't live up to the hype for me. I'd stand in line for 5 minutes absolute maximum for an 800 Degrees pizza. This is a solid 3-star restaurant in my book. -

Believe the hype.
The pizza is goooooood!!
Thin chewy crust and fresh toppings is what makes it delicious.
We ordered the tartufo and what I liked best were the whole roasted garlic pieces. The truffle cheese was way too subtle, but lovely regardless.
Tried 2 salads:
Beet salad had a balsamico dressing with a creamy piece of burrata cheese. At $6, this is worth every penny.. Actually, I would pay more for this =)
Chopped salad was very similar to Nancy's chopped salad at Mozza. The dressing lacked flavor, but at 1/3 the price of Mozza... Can't complain, right??
TIP: try a sample of the gelato. My fave was the salted caramel and pistachio. I had to have a cup of it...
Line was long, about 30 people deep. It took about an hour but it was worth it.
My prediction?? There will be a location close to you in NO TIME! -
Review from Loni L.
I can see why people would wait in line for this place... but to wait in line out the door, down the street...? Wow... must be some DARN-GOOD-PIZZA, right?
I think the location has to do with it. In the heart of westwood-- in westwood village by UCLA and all the other trendy businesses, it draws a lot of attention.
Their pizzas are all really good tho... they drizzle olive oil on top, also... so it gets to be a bit messy to eat, so make sure you have a lot of napkins ready ;)
Their tomato burrata salad was yummy, but my favorite was their beets burrata salad but that's probably because I LOVE beets!
My favorite "must try" pizza, is their truffle mushroom pizza with garlic and arugula... yum! I'd say this place is worth trying & it aint too shabby. However, I dont think I'd wait a ridiculous amount of time in line to eat here. So if you are like me and don't want to stand in line for hours......... just go early ;) Line seems to get long around 7/8PM. Their service is fast tho, but restaurant is not too big so finding a table might be the biggest struggle. -

For vegan pizza that could easily fool an omnivore, look no further. I couldn't believe it, my pizza was so melty and cheesy that I swore they made a mistake. But alas, my margherita didn't look like my date's margherita, so I had to believe it was truly vegan. And OH, it was good. Fresh basil, fragrant garlic, bright tomato sauce, and perfectly melted slightly bubbly NON-DAIRY CHEEEEEEEEESE. It's so good, I might need to invest in an oven that reaches 800 degrees myself if it makes rice cheese act like cow cheese.
This is definitely the best pizza I've had for the money (six slices for maybe $7-8) , and when I went at 3:30pm, there was no line to be seen. They were out of Daiya but I'm so impressed with the rice cheese they used, I didn't miss it at all. The soda machine doesn't do much for me, but others seem to enjoy it. I cannot wait to go back!Listed in: Mixed Couple

Came here on a Monday evening at 6:00PM with my friend and a couple of his friends. Although there is a bunch of construction handicapping a person's view that 800 Degrees does exist, my friend was able to navigate us there no problem. The line was already to the door. After 10-15 minutes, I ordered the tartufo pizza ($12) and my friend ordered the margherita ($7) with some chili sauce. Previous Yelp reviews mentioned the tartufo having truffle cheese, which sounded very interesting despite being almost double the price of the regular pizzas. I decided to go with an untainted tartufo without any meat.
Once you put in your order, it takes a mere 5 minutes more until you're done paying for your pizza and ready to scarf it down. Sadly I wasn't able to eat my pizza quick enough, so I had a couple cooled off slices left to eat. Since I can eat a Subway sandwich in just 5 minutes, this means this $12 pizza is a damn good deal. If you're going with a bunch of "normal" people, you might want to order 2 pizzas for every 3 people. If you're alone, eat half and you'll have lunch for the next day. This will cut your cost per meal down in half! ($4-$6)
One last thing to note is that seating can be a Beverly Hills bitch. However, most of the other customers are very accommodating and will squeeze to let you in, give you an extra chair, etc.
Pizza Hut or 800 Degrees? 800 Degrees hands down. Yummm. -

Ahhhh.. the pizza reminds me of Italy. It's delicious and amazing and tastes just like how pizza should taste! Amazing.
After reading an article from http://bonappetit.com about this place, I had no idea it'd be in Westwood! I was super surprised and did not expect to drive out at 10pm at night to check this place out!
I ordered the tarfuto pizza, with truffle cheese, arugula, roasted mushrooms, and caramelized garlic, and my friend ordered the piccante pizza, with soppressata, garlic, and calabrian chiles. The caramelized garlic was sooooooo delicious--you literally have WHOLE garlic cloves on your pizza, soft and sweet. It's such a great compliment to the pizza! I love the flavor combination on the tarfuto pizza! The piccante pizza is legitly spicy. haha! It's the good kind, where there's just a ton of flavor in every bite.
There's so many options to choose from! You can choose any type of pizza you want and you can add additional toppings, ranging from $1-3, etc. Amazing.
I WILL come back for more! -

It was 11:30pm during midterm week. The night was quiet off south of Wilshire Blvd. The UCLA kiddos were probably having some intense reading and memorization. Among them, there were me, my boyfriend, and my roommates. Then, the precipitate moment arrived when I looked up, turned around, and asked everyone if anyone wanted pizza? Not to my surprise, all of us nodded. We ordered two large gourmet pizzas online at Papa John's using some promotion codes we found online at http://www.retailmenot.... The total came out around $28 plus tips for the delivery guy, as a result, each of us paid around $7.
So you wonder why I am telling you about our slightly unhealthy college life styles? Broke college students would go to Domino's or Papa John's or Pizza Hut for some cheap and delicious, not to mention huge pizzas. I would. With one large pizza for $11 or less with coupon, I could be eating it for dinner, lunch, and dinner the next day. So is spending $6.45 for plain pizza and another $5 on toppings on a much smaller pizza cost effective? I am still debating on that, yet I enjoyed my visit enough to round a 3.5 to a 4 stars.
It is still pizza and its calories that we are discussing here, but we are speaking of quality of ingredients and style. Patrons choose the pizza styles (Margherita, Bianca, Marinara) then customize their own pizza with adds on from proteins, cheeses, and vegetables. Your custom thin crust Neapolitan pizza will be hot and ready within minutes after being put into a 800-degree-oven.
I usually order the Margherita since it is the most popular. I love their toppings, even though oftentimes I waver between choices since I do not want my masterpiece turns out to be unappetizing. Some safe choices for meat would be pepperoni, bacon, sausage, and meatballs. I have no preferences for cheese, I go with the flow. I keep thinking to myself why $1 for each veggie choice? But, if you decide to go with one, I'd say mushrooms. To be honest, I find the dough a little soggy, but it tastes fresh and delicious overall.
Tips: There is always a long line for lunch and dinner. One of a few times I went and there was a short line that did not extend out of their door were at around 2:30pm and 4:30-5:00pm.
Good luck.
Have fun.

Pizza great. Process suboptimal. Service - NONE!
Worth the wait... debatable..
I had a tasty vegan pizza - yes it's a bit soggy, but they TELL you that on signs if you want it crispy to tell them.
I also ordered some of the brocollini at the register. After being sternly told that I needed to order that in line - how in the HELL am I supposed to know that - the cashier reluctantly took the order... I then went back up 1/2 through pizza to get it. Shocker, he didn't put in the order although I'd paid for it. A very friendly woman offered to bring it to my table. 15 minutes later I revisited the counter, and asked for my money back. She was nice, and apologized, but... I was done. -

The concept of this restaurant is to go down a line, customizing a pizza, and then bam, it goes in a wood-burning oven(which I'm going to assume is actually 800 degrees).
Since it was my first time, my friend and I just got one of their specialty pies, the Tartufo, which features truffles cheese, roasted mushrooms, garlic, and then topped with arugla after the pie comes out of the oven. Admittedly, I haven't had very much good pizza, but this was definitely up there. The wood-burning oven gives the crust this great crunchy texture and flavor. The toppings were good too. Even though the pizza felt a bit heavy, the arugula lightened everything up enough. The pizza is a bit oily, but that's expected, and it's certainly not in a gross kind of way. They have a great drink selection, and even have a fancy machine for fountain drinks. If you like root beer, ask for a Virgil's.
Prices are pretty decent as well. I think the bill came out to around $15 for one pizza and a drink, but the pizza's worth the little extra. -

Think the Chipotle, the Counter, or Subway Model, but for pizza: build-your-own pizza.
800 degrees specializes in a thin crust personal pizza that is surprisingly large without being overly expensive or heavy. You start with 3 basic pizza models, (a) the margarita , (b) the marinara, or (c) the white pizza or you can pick from one of their specialty pre-made pizzas. They have a good selection of toppings ranging from your traditional like pepperoni and sausage, while still having the less common like cherry tomatoes and arugula. I especially like that because they flash cook the pizza quickly at high heat, the center dough stays a little gooey. They also have a good selection of domestic and international wine and beer (Deschutes, FTW).
Despite, the line being out the door, the staff is pretty efficient and friendly so you are not waiting in line too long. They are good at keeping everyone moving. We waited about 15-20 from getting into line before eating our pizza. We went on a weekday, so I am not sure how it would be if it was super crowded.
Just a few minor issues
First, our slices were not cut evenly. Second, my friends pizza was burnt so deeply in one small place near the edge that she refused to eat that part (must be in the spot in the oven that was 805 degrees). Thirdly, I wish they listed the price of each ingredient, so you had some idea of how much you could get without breaking the bank.Listed in: Good Food told me too

My friend and I came here on a Sunday night around 7:30 pm and had circled the streets for what seemed like forever looking for parking until we were finally forced to valet the car in front of a restaurant called Napa Grill or something ($6). Once we got to the joint, there was a line of about 20-30 people so we waited about 30 minutes or so to get in.
Because a previous Yelper had mentioned that their was no corkage fee for the place, I was thrilled to bring my own bottle of wine...but once we got to the cash register, the cashier said they no longer had free corkage (at first she wasn't sure and then double checked) so they charged me $10 for the corkage. $10 isn't a whole lot for corkage, but I was still surprised that they charged me the full $10 being that I was unaware that their corkage policy had changed - and for the sake of good customer service, I feel like she should have either waived the corkage or gave me a discount....but I digress...
Now to the pizza! I ordered the margherita pizza and added mushrooms, and garlic. I didn't order basil because the menu said the margherita already had basil (which all margherita's should), but my pizza was missing the basil! The place was so freakin busy and I was so hangry already ("hangry" is the term for when I'm not a happy camper because I'm starving!) that I didn't bother telling them.
So all in all, I thought the pizza was good but I've had better elsewhere. -

customizable pizza! hand-tossed dough! This is definitely a step up from the previous restaurant at this location (Daphne's).
Don't be discouraged by the line, as you have to stand in it anyways as your pizza-to-be progresses along the production line. You choose from various toppings or their pre-determined pizza toppings. I've had the carni (full of various meats) and the tartufo (garlic and truffle cheese) and both were awesome. All the pizzas are topped with chunks of mozzarella. The antipasti is also great for sharing and comes with more cheese, cured meats and veggies that you can throw on to your pizza. Pizzas are pricey for the size (about 12"), but worth it. I'm comfortably filled on 4-5 slices of the 6 slice pizza, so most people will want to order a whole pie for themselves, but don't forget to share!
I'm also amused by their soda fountain, which I hope is the future of fountain drinks. You can customize which flavor shot (cherry, peach, vanilla, etc) you want in the selection of 15 sodas. The combinations are immense.
I'd like to try the gelato, but i'm always too full to get some. maybe next time... -

I'm torn. This place is a 3.5 to me.
I love how a picky eater like me can decide what toppings i want. I also love the concept of fresh made to order oven fired pizzas. Plus fresh mozzarella! yum.
The place still seems new and are working on their efficiencies. The lines get suuper long and sometimes it's hard to find a table for a big group if it's crowded.
I'm not a fan of how thin the pizza is in the middle. It makes it difficult to eat and topping sometimes roll off your slice. =[
In the end, i like the freshness of the toppings. The tartufo pre designed pizza is very delicious. I'm sure i'll be back to try one of the burrata appetizers. -

I'll admit: I was entranced by the magical soda machine. Punch the screen, get whatever toxic, artificially-flavored potion you desire. Lime/Vanilla flavored Coke Zero?? Done! This is why the human race has ruled the Earth for millennia. But kidding aside, a relentlessly efficient production line will get you your piping hot, uniquely-toppinged pizza served up on a real china plate in record time, no matter how long the line. The price is right, and you will suffer more finding parking in Westwood than getting your 'za. Top-notch operation providing great product. Enjoy.

You must understand something about me: I love pizza more than you love your mother.
This place actually opened up after I graduated and moved away from UCLA, so when I heard that this place came into the Westwood Village, I knew I had to come back and try it out.
I was absolutely blown away! This is pizza like how it's supposed to be made. They claim that they brought the art of pizza-making from Italy, so you get to taste how the Italians make pizza. And I gotta say, real Italian-style pizza beats out American-style pizza any day.
I arrived there around 7PM, and the line for this place was out the door and all the way down the block. It looked so intense that I almost turned around and walked away, but I'm glad that I stood in line for this because what awaited me inside was heavenly.
You get to completely customize your pizza, starting from the type of sauce/cheese to all the toppings that you could add. I went for the margherita pizza (sauce + cheese + basil) and added truffle cheese, mushrooms, and caramelized onions. So. Freaking. Delicious. There are so many other things that you can add onto the pizza, so I guarantee you're gonna want to come back and try new and different combos all the time.
The restaurant gets its name from its brick oven (open flame), supposedly reaching 800 degrees to bake your pizza super quick (and super delicious).
You also must try the burrata cheese as a side. We got the burrata with cherry tomatoes and pesto, and I think it was just as delicious as the pizza (burrata cheese is an exceptionally creamy, soft cheese very much like fresh mozzarella cheese).
The inside is a bit cramped, and they don't allow you to save tables for your party, so my friend and I just took our pie back to her apartment and ate it there. I would recommend taking your order to-go because it seemed like a huge hassle to wait for a table to open up.
I will definitely be making my way back to this place. Only next time, I'll probably try to avoid the dinner rush since it still is a brand new place and still super popular.
