Thanks CTA. Even though everyone likes to bash you left and right - I like you. And I really like the #80 bus! It's always around! Plus, it has the name of my hood on the marquee 'Irving Park'. You rock.
PS - I actually like the #80X better, but I'll keep that one a secret. -

Dear route 80/Irving bus,
I like you for the most part. Something should be done about that cocksocket that always rides the bus when you are packed with his laptop and waves it around trying to find a signal. Your prompt attention regarding this matter will be greatly appreciated.

I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for an Irving Park bus.
I also happen to live at an express stop so the X80 is really my friend (and shaves 15 min off my commute).
One of the best bus lines I've ridden.... -

So there's this crazy old man who drives the 80 a little later in the evening. The man is completely nutso and talks to himself, talks to others, comments on nonsense the whole bus ride. I have never had a bus driver stand out to me before, but I have come to get pretty excited each time I have him as my driver. It's funny to watch other people's expressions if they aren't used to him.
PS- I still Loathe the X80..Listed in: Useful, Funny, and/ or Cool...

Love this bus for my morning and afternoon commute!!!
I've never waited more than 10 minutes for either the 80 or X80 to come...and since both are a great option, its perfect.
Doesn't take more than 20 min to get from Ashland to Blue Line in the morning....and not more than 30 in the evening!
And...always plenty of space to sit, stretch out, even! -

The bus drivers on this route are very kind. They waited patiently as a man looked for his eyeglasses that had fallen off his face when getting on the bus one evening. They waited patiently as I had to dart across crazy rush hour traffic to board on the other side. They don't stop all crazily either.
I'm not a fan of how often they run during rush hour. 6:30pm, waited 25 minutes for a bus on a Thursday. 15 minutes one morning during rush hour around 7:30am. Thank god I can track them on the Bus Tracker. However, there have been many times the Tracker says it's 8 minutes away and a bus pulls up. Weird, but convenient. -

I love the X80! Express bus down Irving that normally has pretty awesome drivers. Goes straight from Laramie to the lake with under 10 stops.
