Review from Kaya W.
New York, NY
I love 8 Limbs. I started doing yoga over a year ago on a trip to Hawaii, when I came back to Seattle, I had to find a yoga place. I tried about five other seattle studios and I've settled into 8 Limbs and started to call it my yogi home.
I've been to their Wedgwood, Capital Hill and West Seattle Studio. I like the Cap Hill studio best (proximity and feel). I've only been disappointed by their instructors a few times, but they were always beginning instructors and got better over time.
For a good yoga experience, 8 Limbs is the place to go. -

Tried out a class tonight and loved it, what I didn't love is the attitude I received at the front desk when I tried to buy a couple months in advance. I'm trying to look past the rude service I received and take another class since the yoga was amazing.
I took Angela's flow class and absolutely loved it, she takes you on a journey through your own body with great variations on traditional poses. -

I love this yoga studio. I've been taking the intro series with Jen, she is amazing! I was a little intimidated starting yoga but she makes everyone feel comfortable with her patience and little humorous quips. I'm planning on taking another intro series before I throw myself at the mercy of regular yoga class sessions. I love that its in Wedgwood and there is always parking. I love that the classes are not over crowded or full of pretentious people. I do wish they open their doors other than 15 minutes before/after class, it would be nice to be able to use their changing room before class starts. I highly recommend checking out this studio.

I love this studio. Melina is amazing. I took the intro series with here way back in the day and have been doing some classes with her now. She's a great instructor and is very good gearing the lessons towards those in our class.
I always feel amazing after my yoga classes and I look forward to them every week. I can definitely feel the difference in my body. My shoulders and back feel more open, as do my hips...which is great from sitting all day in front of the computer writing yelp reviews. -

I'm currently taking 8 Limbs' intro series with Melina, and have taken a basics class with Jen Y.
The intro series is perfect for someone who is just starting yoga, getting back into yoga, or has injuries they need to work through and recover from. My bad back (car accident) has been getting stronger and stronger with every class, and both Melina and Jen have worked with me to modify whatever poses I need to. If you're further along, there are plenty of higher-level and flow classes that work different parts of your practice. Additionally, I've heard great things are their teacher training program from other yogis.
Their location is great, parking's not a problem, and they have all of the equipment you'll need to use in class (blocks, mats, blankets, straps) for free. Their for-sale mats are pretty pricey, but classes aren't so bad: a six-week intro course is $75, and classes thereafter are comparable.
All in all, 8 Limbs is a great place to begin your practice or further it. -

Ahhhh...yoga in Seattle!! Great vibe in this classic yoga studio. Inspiring yoga teachers make for a heartfelt yoga practice. Definitely would go back for more.

This seems to be everything a small neighborhood yoga center should be. Nice hardwood floors, plants and an open, calm environment. The people are also nice and I'm excited about the Intro to Hatha Yoga classes I'll be taking soon. All you bring is a water bottle and yourself, they provide the mat. I wanted something a step up from taking yoga at community center type of class while I didn't want the price to be outrageous. I found that here, at a place only a few blocks away from home, and they offer a wide variety of classes for all levels. Very cool.

great neighborhood location, staff is always friendly, and the studio space is large with pretty good ventilation, hardwood floors, and a decent amount of natural light from the windows as well as overhead lights when it's dark outside. the first time i came a year ago was just because there was a class that suited my schedule....but then i went on a retreat with melina and started coming regularly to take her classes, she's wonderful (obviously a lot of people really like her from reading these posts!). she's gone on a sabbatical for the next 6 months, but i took a class from hilary tonite and she is incredible! she kicks your butt, but it feels great. i've been to all the 8 limbs studios except west seattle and think they are all fabulous in their own unique ways.
