I am forever grateful to the Martire family who have owned 76 Liquors for years. Gustavo (Gus) and I had a special friendship for many years as the result of my constantly walking my pug by the store. Puggy always wanted to go inside and poke around the displays of wine & booze.
Gus introduced me to his wonderful family. (His nephew now runs tha place) He also broadened my knowledge of wines & champagnes.
Plus they are open til midnight - so this is a great place to come get some alcohol!
Yay for 76 Liquors!Listed in: Flam gets toasted???

It's open 'til midnight, and they're next door to a bar. Okay for a liquor store. Yeah, the credit minimum kinda blows.
I picked up a bottle of wine once, before a date. Should've just stuck with just the wine. Forget the date.Listed in: U For Upper East Side

In the land of the UES there seems to be a liquor store on every corner. As far as one goes this is not a bad place to find that perfect wine or hard spirits to cure what ails you. A lot of varieties here but not really labeled to good so you have to hunt around for what you are looking for. The guy who works there was very helpful though and offered some suggestions. Picked up a nice bottle of red the other night to hang out on the couch and watch TV with. Decent prices and open until midnight too.

sooooo i cheated on McCabes last night. there, i said it... i cheated on McCabes. phew. ok, but anyway, this place isn't bad. the selection was decent, though i did find the place a bit difficult to navigate; they didn't have their regions labeled. the staff is what i liked the most--the guy at the counter was friendly/charming/knowledgeable, and me + wine + a charming guy = good times--i dig. solid place.

"When your spirits are low, Call us" How can you not love that corny headline. Furthermore, Am I an alcoholic? I love this place for their selection of scotch and bourbon..... and the wine and rum.... and tequila.... and ohhhhhh the owner with the bandanna. He looks like a pirate so this place gets an extra star. Nothin special, just another house of booze.

That owner with the bandana? Yea he will verbally ABUSE you if you try to use a credit card below the $15 minimum. Is that even legal? I'll go to the really nice wine store down there street instead of go there....and I live right next store.. If you are disgusting to customers, I'm not given' you a dime!
