I heard about this exhibit through NY-Times. and I decided to check it out since it is very close to my area. My dear friend Glenn want to show off his cute VW new car so he volunteered to drive us there. The museum is very cute and well localized in the trendy Williamsburg. the museum is small but It serves its purpose. About 3 rooms if we include the lobby. The friendly handsome guy welcoming the visitors. There is no fee to get in, they accept donations.
The exhibit of Kisses could not pick a better theme as we all about to get into the whole Valentine Fever. 76 kisses extending through different era of the last century till 1980s. Though heavily concentrated around white and black photos. The photographs show real people on various intimate moments. Your grand grandpas and Mas all kissing and embracing each other .
But one think that me and my friend were looking to see is a Men2Men kisses... and there were none! except one very tiny kiss on the the wall. that looks like an Italian friendly of friend to friend. No romance involved
I am not sure if it was because of the era. or if the couple behind the Exhibit"Lori Baker and David E. Brown" could not find an appropriate pictures or have other agendas to please the masses. Though this is Williamsburg after all.
I will let them respond to this on their own. beside the photograph displayed on the wall. There is a slide show screen where all the pictures played on a larger size.
On in all The location and the theme is well done. Just the part I mentioned above...
I missed the reception where they have a kissing booth, staffed by volunteers, a man and a woman; each will kiss people of either sex.charge $1 for two kisses.
Now that's what I call a smooching PR.
Regards,
Hicham
