Definitely not famous, but a decent place to grab a sandwich if you're in the neighborhood. They're pretty generous with the meat at least.
By the way, if you sign up at http://thelevelup.com with promo code 125686 you get a free $2 to use here, plus an additional free $5 that you can use here or anywhere else on http://thelevelup.com. -
Review from Lauren H.
This update is from the burnt-out motor of my vacuum cleaner, Regina:
Someone seems to have forgotten, year after year, about the cleanup involved when disposing of the Brothers' of Famous's trees. Well, I don't. Those trees are old as hell. There's a reason why they're so reasonably priced. Good luck making it to the New Year with that Charlie Brown looking thing.
Whoa! Lauren here! I'm sorry! I had no idea that my vacuum cleaner could type!! But Regina has a point. That was a dead tree. Next year? Still not hitting up the hippies up the street. Zipcar and a drop cloth trip to the burbs.
BTW - the Bro's still have nice flowers.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Anthony F.
Astoria, Queens, NY
As I walked around Hell's Kitchen looking for lunch with my good friend and colleague Indecision, I happened upon 7 Brothers Famous Deli. "Sure", I say.
As soon as my eyes came to rest upon the wraps menu, my mind was made up. Right there in big bold black letters read "TURKEY CLUB WITH BACON AND CHEESE--$5.95". Remember this. It'll be on the final.
I place my order and in no time my wrap was awaiting payment. I grabbed a bag of funyuns (right??) and proceeded to pay.
"$8.17".
Wait. $5.95, plus like $1 for the chips equals $6.95, throw on a little tax and that's like NOT $8.17. Reluctantly I handed over my cash. After all, math was never my strong point and maybe those chips cost $2...NO! No this isn't right! So I inquire. Here's how THAT went down:
Me: Wasn't the wrap $5.95? How is it over $8?
Cashier (C): No, wrap is $6.95.
Me: But the menu right there clearly says $5.95...
C: No. The turkey alone is $6. You had bacon and cheese.
Me: BUT the MENU states (and i read it out to him) "TURKEY CLUB WITH BACON AND CHEESE--$5.95"
C: It's $5.95 on a roll only.
Me: What?? But it's listed right there with the wraps. It doesn't say rolls. It says wraps. (Mind you, this is a completely separate board that says wraps, not one of those confusing boards with everything on it that you have to deduce. This is clear as day).
C: Sorry. Turkey alone is $6.
Frustrated with this man's clear ignorance and greed, I decided the situation wasn't worth the extra $1 I was being robbed.
Luckily, the wrap was quite good, but nowhere near good enough to deal with annoying delis like this. 7 Brothers, if you need that extra dollar so bad, you can keep it, but you won't be getting another cent out of me. -

pretty nice little neighborhood convenience store. i don't think it's open 24 hours but its at least open pretty late-- at least til midnight. prices are reasonable but not cheap, selection is good but not great. i guess the fact that its stayed open so long despite the fact that it's across the street from a huge duane reade says a lot.
the awning boasts "free delivery" but i have no clue what this means. will they bring me a box of coffee filters when i run out at 7am? because that might bump it up a star... hmm...
