Had a great stay here for a few days! Great location, great staff and good vibes. The room wasn't huge, but it was bigger than I expected. It was nice to have room to place our bags around without feeling cramped. The bed was comfortable and the temperature was great in the rooms -- had no issue adjusting to our liking. The bathroom was a bit small, but did the job. They provide robes and an umbrella, which was a nice touch.
Housekeeping was on it every single day we were there. All of the staff/doormen were awesome and friendly. I always felt welcomed every time we arrived back from our day. Jesse was amazing and gave great recommendations! This is the first time I've stayed at an Iberostar property and based on this stay, I'm impressed!
Unfortunately there is no restaurant or bar at this hotel, which is a bummer. However, there are plenty of places around to grab food/drinks. The hotel does provide boxed water in the room upon check-in, but you have to refill it throughout your stay via the gym.
Location-wise, it was a short walk to Grand Central Station and not far from Bryant Park. Overall, had a lovely stay at Iberostar and would stay here again!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 626345Dec 22, 2023
Enter the premises and walk into an Almodovar film with requisite Spaniards and gleaming interior. Very warm welcome from the desk. Amazing key card opens the door to the room automatically! Wheelchair friendly also evoked Almodovar for me. The room was immaculate with an armoire rather than a closet (yes, Almodovar). Robes provided. Fab view of Park Ave from the 7th floor (church). Fantastic, convenient to Grand Central and Penn Sta. Boxed water, very forward thinking (possibly Almodovar). But no coffee or cafe. Water pressure in the bathroom was weak. Walked past this convenient location a zillion times when I lived nearby and now look forward to returning for my Almodovar closeup.

What is with the pot smell? You walk in and it overwhelms you.
The lobby is small and nothing to talk about. No bar or anything. And it reeks of pot.
The front desk is behind glass. Which may be a COVID precaution. But it seemed more like a late-night, bad neighborhood convenience store precaution. Maybe it was because of the excessive pot smell.
The building itself definitely seems old. Which is what one expects. But it also looks like it was slapped with a quickie makeover. Like hair painted onto the ceiling kind of quickie.
The rooms are small. Which is to be expected. The furniture is cheap and unmatched. There's no minibar (but there clearly used to be). And you can't control the heat, only the A/C. So prepare to freeze.
And the hallways and elevator have a stronger pot smell than the lobby. Which seems like a pretty difficult thing to accomplish. I haven't experienced a permeating everywhere pot smell like this since the Excalibur in Las Vegas. And this place was actually worse (which is saying a lot).
I could overlook everything else. But that excessive and never ending pot smell will keep me from ever coming back. Plus, the cost definitely did not come close to matching what you got. And the service was lacking.Helpful 8Thanks 1Love this 6Oh no 0 - Anne R.Las Vegas, NV1246Sep 20, 2023
This is a review I am so happy to write. While vacationing in NYC, my family and exhausted baby son were locked out of our airbnb with ZERO communication from our host for hours. Finally at 11 pm we checked into The Iberostar Hotel. Talk about a treat. Mr. Ahad Latif was the night manager on. He along with Eddie made a nightmare situation sooo wonderful. Ahad found us toiletries, he upgraded our room and he even charged my husbands cell phone. Coming from Las Vegas, I was shocked at the service. It was excellent! This is the guy you want running your place. My husband assumed he was the owner. The room was amazing- we slept so well. This is a wonderful spot. Next time we will stay here.

The hotel rooms are clean and amenities include bathrobes and an umbrella. We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel staff were very friendly and the location was ideal for walking to attractions. We would definitely book here again.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Manhattan. Just a 2 min walk from Grand Central Station! Park Ave has so much going on so you're within walking distance of mostly all the sites in Manhattan. The hotel itself was cleanly, well put together, and offered wonderful amenities. The staff was also amazing...apparently my mother in law had a room that was a bit warm and the staff waived some fees for us the next morning at check out. We didn't even complain really just kind of gave them some feedback. Overall I recommend this place for travelers and visitors to the city as it's super comfortable and clean and the staff will take care of you

Staff were incredibly polite and helpful. My wife and I came here for a weekend anniversary trip and the hotel had a bottle of wine and even helped give us a room with a view. Top notch help and support from this team.

I feel it's important to review Iberostar 70 in the context of room rate paid. For me, I paid about $140 through the HotelTonight site. My stay was one night. Geographically it was perfect for my needs.
Frankly the review is in the 3.25 star range.
The Very Good:
Check-in was easy and smooth. The woman at the front desk was very friendly. In fact, the entire staff was friendly and helpful. I needed an extended check out time by an hour and it was no problem at all.
The room was small but as expected for a NYC boutique-y hotel room. Certainly not cramped. It was clean. It looked new - all sheets, fixtures, furnishings were all updated and very clean. First impression of the room walking in was very positive.
The room was quiet.
Really nice view of the Empire State Building.
The So-So:
There was a draft in the bathroom. No way around it..it was cold. We figured out how to set the heat high enough in the room to counteract the cold from the bathroom, but no doubt cold, winter air was flowing easily into the bathroom from outside.
The TV was on the wall but was to the left of the bed. An awkward viewing angle as the TV was not adjustable in a way where the screen was directed at the bed. No a big deal but a room design miss.
The walls are thin. Not thin enough where we could hear neighbors, but when the door of the neighbor's room shut, it was loud in our room. Thankfully, we only heard the door slams in the morning of checkout but would have been a real pain if it had persisted all night.
Both the hand soap and the shampoo in the bathroom (and shower) dispensers were not refilled. They were low...essentially empty. No idea how a miss like that happens but I had a shampoo-less shower and had to wash hands with warm water only.
Overall:
Fine BUT fine in a $140 a night kinda way. It was clean and comfy but a few little things bring down the score. I'd probably stay here again at that same room rate or lower if I wanted to be in this neighborhood but at the same time, I might want to try something new.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stephanie C.Washington, DC04Apr 16, 2022
We had a perfect stay at this hotel. Our welcome upon check-in was enthusiastic and friendly, and every staff member sustained that attitude during our four-day stay. We were upgraded to a room on the 10th floor with two queen beds (as opposed to double beds). The room was spacious by Manhattan standards, clean, warm (during a week of near-freezing temperatures), and shockingly quiet given that it faced Park Ave. The neighborhood was convenient, walkable, and safe. The $100 "resort fee" included a $40 voucher for a food delivery service. Using the free wifi, we connected the TV to our personal device to watch Netflix and Disney Plus content. We plan to stay again during our next visit!
