I'm not sure what qualifies a park as a park but if it's a place for you to park your booty, this place is definitely that.

Tons of benches surround a fountain that features a huge, metallic balloon animals like the ones you get from clowns and the clowns who work at chain Mexican restaurants.  The first time I saw this thing, I thought it was a big metal anus.  (Picture to follow shortly.)  I'm just glad they didn't make the sculptures out of one of this guy's balloon animals: http://www.dailymail.c....

I really appreciate this park because of it's proximity to work.  I can escape my terminal of death and have my lunch in actual, nearly-fresh air.  It's especially nice in the summer because office buildings feel the need to refrigerate their employees and this thawing station is really nice.  This summer, they tried to stage a music series which consisted of 1 actual concert.  It's the thought that counts, I guess.  Very nice thought.  And seriously, tons of benches.  TONS.

In case you want to do work while in the park, they provide free wi-fi.

This is a cute triangle with benches and trees and a center splash fountain with an interesting sculpture in the middle.  We went to see The Hold Steady play a free show at this park and it was kind of chill.  Maybe it's not the best music venue, but I appreciate what they're trying to do for downtown.  It's cool to realize that the city hasn't forgotten that yes, people do live down here.

Anyway, watching little kids play in the fountain and dance around was a riot.  I wish there was more seating, or a way to actually see the stage if you're not one of the lucky few who can get there by 5:30pm(!), but whatever.  I imagine 7 WTC Park is a relaxing place to chill with a book and a cup of tea if you work in the area.
