It is only acceptable at 3am.
And the staff is pseudo-rude. -

Not terrible, but not great. Does not taste very fresh, takes a while for delivery.
There are many better pizza places in hoboken. -

Watched my friends stumble in here after a night out on the town.
After they took a head count on how many slices they were getting, I advised them that it would be more cost effective to just order a whole pie. The pizza shop man decided right then and there that he would not be making us a fresh pie. "No, No only slices right now"
For what reason I'm not sure, but my instant reaction was, oh they are trying to rip us off.
Clearly this place could care less about robbing people.
Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Instead of eating here try one of these late night hot spots:
Five Guys Famous Burgers & Fries
Benny Tudino's Pizzeria (also deliver)
Philly's Cheesesteak (also deliver)
Malibu Dinner
Imposto Restaurant & Pizza (still better than 7 star) (also deliver)Listed in: DO NOT EAT LIST

Hoboken, NJ
I've watched the steady decline of 7 Stars over the last 3 years. I live practically next door and when I first moved to town, it was my standard stop after the bars. My friends and I were regulars and very friendly with the two owners. The huge slices were always tasty and perfect after a night of drinking, or on the occasion when I needed something fast and close to home.
It's gone WAY downhill since. Those two guys aren't there anymore (I believe the one moved back to Egypt, but the other one still hangs around sometimes). Gone are the nights of lines out the door. The pizza is made hours beforehand and stacked until the "rush" comes in late night. I guess they think everyone will be too drunk to notice that this gross pizza has been sitting out for hours?
I've avoided the place like the plague for the last year or so, but came home from the city late the other night and was starving. I figured I'd give it one more shot. I walked in wanting a simple plain slice or a slice with chicken. No plain slices and any slices with chicken were paired with weird toppings. Is it so difficult to make a simple slice of pizza? Apparently so. I ended up with a slice hard ziti that had clearly been sitting out for hours. The slices are still huge, but when they taste so bad, you really don't want a gigantic slice. There was also no one in there. Back in the day, this place would have been packed. Word is definitely out that 7 Stars is no longer the go-to late night spot.
Never again. Next time, I'll go home starving, or stop at Impostos on the way home. I'm better off. -

Basically, this is the best worst pizza I've ever had. This would never be my first choice when looking to get pizza in Hoboken, but after a night out of drinking? Perfection. The slices are HUGE. It can turn into quite the mob scene during late-night hours and the works don't do much to control the crowd, which I really disliked. The other night I went there, I left without ordering because it was pure pandemonium and I couldn't take it.

Friday night I faced, yet again, that age old question...
Does size really matter??
Well my friends, when it comes to pizza I must say it does not. 7th Star Pizza is downright gross. Yes the slice of pizza is the size of about half of a normal pie but it's never fresh and is always overly salty. When I went in and asked if I could get a plain slice, they had none. I then asked for something with vegetables. My only option was mushroom. After we got home, I picked the mushrooms off the pizza and ate those but nothing else. Cheese was rubbery, something - maybe the cheese or the salt - was so chock full of sodium that it immediately dehydrated me, and the crust was stale. I'd rather have a slice of pizza just 10% the size of those that 7th Star dishes out as long as it was edible. -

7 Stars is what you want when:
- Wasted
- Water logged
- Really desperate for cheap foodstuffs involving greasy pepperoni + thinly sliced sausage.
There are very few topping options, and no listed prices, but when you find yourself wearing rainboots and treading through calf-deep sewage water (thank you Hurricane Irene) because your chinese takeout was *THAT* miserable, you're not in a position to argue. -

This is the worst pizza place in the world. Bad pizza, bad scene, bad, bad, bad.

One of the best pizza places in Hoboken...if you stop in. I've had their delivery several times, and unless you order one of the jumbo pizzas, you are getting something completely different for delivery then you would going into the store.
At the store, you'll get huge NY style pizza slices with great toppings. -

It's an abomination.
We got here late last Friday night for a slice, which was about the same size as Benny Tudino's. Fortunately, Benny T's is completely on the opposite end of the pizza spectrum.
For $2.50, I got a slice that came from a pie that had been sitting there for about 3 hours, was placed into the oven, then came out scalding and eventually burned my mouth. Out of the oven, the sauce was dry. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it used to taste better when it was once fresh. ...whenever that was. I know I exaggerate.
The only good thing going for it was that they had a helpful and friendly staff. Other than that, the pizza wasn't fit for existence. -

Ordered delivery - took forever..
upon pulling the food out of the bag we knew we were in for a less than stellar dinner. my roommate requested extra ketchup (we don't have any in our apartment), and there it was. one ketchup packet. i opened up the gyro platter and the fries were soggy and gross. the gyro was pathetic. 3 little pieces of meat on some pita pieces. Another container with a lame attempt at salad. I tried to make the most of it and eat it...it wasn't disgusting, but it was an embarrassment that this is the food that this business serves. I cannot rec this place...to be fair, I haven't tried their pizza but I can't see it being decent, esp compared to the other choices in hoboken...I will not be giving this place another chance. -

I live right around the corner from this place. I've determined that 7 Stars is best when you're drunk. Their big cheap pizza works.
Sometimes their pizza can be delicious, other times it's just off. It's hit or miss. It is what it is.
I wouldn't consider ordering delivery. This is a by-the-slice place. Go in and get out. -

Drunken late night HUMONGOUS pizza. That's what happens at 7 star. :)

this place has the best plain slice in town - but maybe I always got lucky and got a fresh one...or maybe it's the plain slices that's always fresh.
i'm not too any of their other creative slices, and i'm not the only one i know who agrees with my first statement above.
but seriously, if they delivered to JC I'd order their pies. i grew up in nyc for over 20 years so i'm a little choosy :p -

UGH! The Worst! I got this at 2:00 AM on a Sat and it was so bad I couldnt eat it. The take out slices looked phenomenal so I ordered a cheesesteak whole pie thinking it would resemble the large slices behind the counter. 25 minutes later, I brought it home and it was covered with raw onions and 1/2 melted American cheese slices. I am so pissed cause this is legit the worst pizza I have ever had. Dominoes better. Dijourno better. EVEN ELIOS is better! Do not ever ever ever go here. Complete waste of 18 bucks. Complete waste of time. Complete waste of a pizza shop. F*ck 7 star

This place literally robbed my house once. Is there anything else i have to tell potential people who want to order? Not to mention the pizza is ok, but there are so many other great places in Hoboken to get pizza from.

Pizza is hit or miss (as others have reviewed). The customer service is terrible! The owner is rude, and often tries to get people to buy extra large pies when they ask for a few slices, and then argues that there aren't any single slices to buy (even though they are sitting out).

i dont see how anyone can fault this place as a pizzeria. ive been here a few times.. yes the pizza may not have been made fresh. guess what, most pizzerias dont make it right in front of you either. if you want that, why not try margaritas?
the pizza is too hot and it burned your mouth? WTF? my mom taught me when i was like 2 to blow on food that's hot. i can now understand why mcdonalds started putting warnings on the coffee cups saying that the contents are hot.
the pizza slice is a decent size.. nowhere near as good as the big guys on washington (bennys, gio's), but it's acceptable. i'd give these guys a 2.5, with an extra bump up for their late hours - they are open later than both bennys and gios. -

Hahaha, Ed A. is hilarious. My reason for not ranking this high or even average is that this place to me will always be compared to it's a cousin pizzeria and fellow GIANT slice maker, Benny's. There was a time, approximately 7 years ago where I believed that 7th Start was better tasting than Benny's, but as of lately, 7th Star fell off. So, until the recipe changes or reverts back to it's old ways, Benny's is the GIANT slice king.

The pizza tastes fine when you have been drinking all night, but they are going to charge you "drunk prices". There isnt a board with prices, so they feel that if you look drunk, you should pay more.

I've only had their pizza twice, and it was only OK on both occasions. Their delivery was incredibly fast and they guy was pretty nice. I believe the first time I had their pizza they had donated several pies to a group of community volunteers, and I thought that was pretty nice of them.
